[Just putting this here under the assumption that Hysterio dismembers several of Mitako's limbs in the make shift chuunin exams.]

Due to Mitako's incompetence and Hysterio's overdose of skill, Mitako was rushed to the hospital after Kirigakure's makeshift chuunin exams. Of course, he was unconscious as Xyxer's clones dropped him off in the care of the village's hospital... along with the boy's arms, which had apparently came sold separately. After some quick rushing and what not, the trained staff had stopped the boy's bleeding, deciding that keeping his blood inside of him was more important blessing the child with the ability to write and shuffle cards and... and... do... other things that shan't be spoken of. After a short while, they had some doctors specialized in the reattaching of arms and other limbs.
Right off the bat, one problem presented its self as the manifestation of his bones and muscles being cleaved in two by swords. Since limbs don't magically reattach themselves, the procedure was relatively difficult, and required a lot of brow sweat on the doctors side of things, on Mitako's it required being experimented on by a bunch of dudes while he was passed out. Man, college was fun.
After a few hours, Mitako awoke in the hospital, restrained to his bed to keep him from lashing out and ruining the brand new artificial arms that took the place of his old ones. I mean, sure they could have tried to use his old arms, but when bone gets cleaved in twine it more often than not refuses to reattach its self correctly. So instead, from the shoulder down, his new arms were wrapped in bandages. Back to Mitako tho, since the last thing he remembered was looking at his dismembered arms before passing out. Currently, he was struggling against his restraints, causing the little machines he was hooked into to start beeping and what not. I mean, he was still pretty panicked and yada yada. It took more than one nurse and a few minutes to get him back to being his docile self.
Once he calmed himself again, he thought about what had happened. Surely, Hysterio wouldn't do it again right? Mitako's arms were once again safe? He was unsure. Amidst the thoughts in his head, the only one that really made any sense was the thought that teams were something to be frowned upon. He swore the twins would be the last ones he tried to defend. Mitako's brow furrowed as he thought about it, the twins had actually done nothing but piss him off, yet he still tried to defend them. Yup, for sure, they were the last he'd try and defend when in an actual situation like that. If they were so weak as to fall, it was they're own fault.
He thought about paying them back for causing this. If they had listened, and stayed down, things might not have gotten so out of control. They'd surely be payed a visit after all was said and done. Aside from all that, silver linings: Mitako's cloak had reached new heights, which Mitako was unaware of. The bijuu knew it happened, but the jinchurikki himself remained unaware.
After a while, the nurses came and removed the restraints, deciding that he was calm enough to be let loose. He sat for a while, before asking for a glass of water. The nurse quickly fetched the requested glass of water, and set it on his night stand. He sat up in his bed, and reached for it. Unfortunately, the nerve endings in his arms were still in the process of booting up, and his hand was shaky and heavy, causing a lot of the water to hit the floor before it ever reached his mouth.
Mitako gave this some thought. If he struggled lifting a glass of water, what about his sword? This was going to have more of an effect than he had originally thought. At least the sedatives were starting to wear off, Mitako could deal with the pain, not the cloudy thoughts. Or at least he thought he could, every little movement seemed to set the muscles in his arms on fire, especially where the cut lacerated them. Had the doctor's not fused the bone, he would likely be in even more pain. This raises the question as to why the doctor's didn't do the same for the muscles. Most likely for word count.

It was a slightly uncomfortable feeling, this watching the doctors repair the damage you had done. The process was gory and long and certainly messy, giving Hysterio time to think over what had come over him earlier. Normally he was a real nice dude but for some reason he had found a trigger that had changed his mind set. He hoped it did not become permanent.
Honestly, the only reason he was here to watch the doctors, not to meet his quite possibly former friend or comrade. Whether Hysterio was still considered a friend or merely a comrade depended on Mitako honestly. Either would be fine at this point for Hysterio, with the severity of the injuries inflicted on the others he was not sure he deserved to be anybody’s friend. How the Mizukage stood all this he could not understand. Maybe Youta would be able to provide insight. He would have to ask her later. For now though, he tried to glean as much as he could about the human body from watching the operations of the doctors around Mitako’s body.
Later, after the operation, he waited until after Mitako had been wheeled into his hospital room. After a while he walked in, still thinking, about how he would be able to handle this situation still. Thoughts concerning returning a book on medical studies from earlier were suppressed – no matter how much he disliked it this was the present and he had better face up to it. He had entered in time to see Mitako struggle with a glass of water. “Want me to help you with that next time? It would be the least I could do for putting you there.” Hysterio spoke strangely, the words not feeling quite right. It was not the best thing he could say at the moment but honestly he was not sure what was. Straight out apologizing did not feel like it would have come out right either, so he wanted to see how Mitako reacted first.

As Mitako wiped the water away from his mouth, he was startled to hear a familiar voice. Usually, this voice would have reassured the feeling of back up, not the feeling of impending doom and the disability to not write. His pupils kicked into drug mode, widening to the exaggerated size of dinner plates, as he attempted to vault himself off the bed. The attempt was a miserable one, with his arms not responding in the way they should, but more than that, the anesthetic still made him clumsier than he should have been. I mean, he wasn't the most graceful person in the world, but he was better off than kids without legs.
Anyways, after he actually got off the bed, he realized that the door was still on the other side of Hysterio, and that the only way he was going to escape would be would be to fight his way past him. That was a no-go, so he hobbled around to the other side of the bed and kept the bed between them as a buffer zone. Mitako stood wobbling back and forth due to a lack of balance. Also, he may have had his arms back on his body, but in no way was he meant to be up and about, because a few stitches came loose, causing a trickle of blood to run down his arm.

Oh my. He had really terrorized the other kiddo hadn’t he. Mitako scrambled away as soon as he heard Hysterio. His eyes looked to be as wide as saucers. Seemed like he might have PTSD as well. “We should probably take you to see a counselor later.”
Hysterio noticed the stitches on his arms. “Good thing they got your arms back on. Sorry about that, my blood lust got a little ahead of me. I am learning to control it a little though so you guys should not have to worry about facing it anymore. Hopefully those arms heal ok. We will need them when we next go on a mission. Also, if I were you, I would lie myself back down. I have no reason to hurt you, and you will recover faster.”
At first Hysterio was a little sheepish, but later he was more serious. Unfortunately, he was not good at being soothing, so he stuck his head out the door and called for a nurse, thinking that Mitako would prefer someone else to help him back into bed. Preferably an attractive person like the one who showed up to help. Hysterio stood silently and watched. “I am planning on learning the medical arts later, that way I can help you guys with stuff like this, in the field.”

At first, Mitako almost jumped at Hysterio's words, expecting more pain from the blades of his former friend. At first, and probably due to the anesthetics effect, he didn't quite understand what Hysterio had told him. Slowly, the words began to process into non threatening ones to the jinchuriki. His heart rate slowed down a little as he processed what Hysterio had said. His pupils began to return to their normal size as he realized, that maybe Hysterio had some uncontrollable entity inside him as well. While he was still a bit fearful due to the loss of his precious arms, he was beginning to understand that Hysterio himself may not have been at fault. Suddenly Mitako felt empathetic for Hysterio, deciding that, given some time, he would likely be able to work alongside him again.
He sat down on the bed, before leaning back. His arms were worse than he had thought, and would take some time to get back to their full abilities. (Not that much time tho, thanks to ninja magic.) "They hurt a little," Mitako said, "But I'll get over it." He'd of said more, but as stated before, talking wasn't his strong suit. Instead, he preferred to keep his conversations all short and sweet, which really sucks because sometimes dialogue really helps amp up one's word count in times of need. Like right now, for instance.
He arranged himself so that he was sitting up in the bed, and would wait to see if Hysterio said anything. Maybe it was the drugs causing him to act sporadically, or maybe it was bad writing on my part. Either way, If Hysterio didn't continue the conversation, Mitako would say something like "What drives you out of control?" Maybe it was something similar to the bijuu, maybe not. Mitako didn't know, but things like that spiked his interest. Besides, Hysterio's answer might provide some insight for Mitako on how to take control of his beast.

Well, at least he was getting through to the other fellow, though it was frankly a little alarming just how fast Mitako was calming down. Perhaps Hysterio should look into being a psychiatrist. Nah, that was a joke, he couldn’t successfully encourage an alcoholic to take another swig. It was more likely that Mitako had a mental illness instead, that needed looking into at least as much as his physical illness, injuries that were far less obvious than losing an arm or two.
“That’s good. Take it easy until then ok? The nurses here are quite nice unlike those who were in my home village….” Hysterio’s voice was tinged a little with sadness, he had gotten over seeing his village gone long ago, but it was still not something he liked to talk about. Hopefully if he learned the medical specialty he would be able to prevent these kinds of injuries among his comrades, even while he inflicted equally horrendous ailments upon the enemy.
“Honestly, I don’t know what it was that made me lose sense of myself. I remember hearing the boss, the Mizukage demanding a fight, and then it was as if I was in a dream or trance, I was not really in control of my body. I only came to my senses later on the way to the hospital. It scares me a little, that I can lose control like that. If I had to guess, I have a battle urge or lust or something that drives me when a fight starts, though why it was not more of an issue before. Youta said once that to win a battle you need to know what you can do and what the opponent can’t, but if I lose control like that, then I can’t think about any of that stuff, even if I win a battle I will not learn from my mistakes. It is an annoying handicap I must overcome, if I am going to be fit to lead anyone on the battlefield.”
He pulled out a book he had been reading about the medical arts, and quickly began reviewing some of the basic steps for treatment, looking around the room and trying to get a better feel for the processes behind healing the human body.

While Mitako had calmed down, partially forced, he was still wary of Hysterio. I mean, sure, he was sitting down and what not, but all it would take was some quick jerky movements from his friend, and then it was back to the dinner plate pupils. By some mix of ninja magic and Tenga's technology, Mitako would regain the ability to use his arms in mere days. He felt, for the first time, a spike of the real pain in his arms. A dull ache, and a tingly, spiky feeling. It had been there since the operation was done, but it wasn't quite as noticeable due to, as I've said like forty times now, ninja magic and technology.
Hysterio got pretty deep, according to Mitako, whom had no way with words what so ever. It seemed to him that he really did want to learn from his mistakes, and overcome the thing that took control of him. Unlike Mitako, whom had so far just hoped that it didn't show itself when convenient. Sure, he had wrest control over bits of the bijuu's power, but ultimately, he was still at its whim. Reflecting on that, Mitako realized that the only way to truly stop it was to seize its energy, and take it prisoner, rather than be prisoner to the beast. To do that, he was going to need strength that was double, or even triple beyond what he had right now. He needed to be both strong in his mind, and in his body.
He leaned farther back in the bed, it was a lot more comfortable than what he was used to. "Hysterio," he leaned his head back and stared off into space, "Sometime after I've recovered, and when you're not busy, lets arrange a training session." He paused, seemingly finished with his sentence, before continuing "I need to be as strong as I can, and it seems that you could use it." Whether or not Hysterio agreed, Mitako would likely jump right into training after the recovery. He only extended an invite to Hysterio because he needed to overcome the reactionary fear and forced calm, to return back to a natural state of calm when he was around his comrade. If he was going to be working with him anyways, it was important that he could actually work with him.

For plot reasons, Mitako would then doze off into a bout of rest. He had seen enough action for the day, with his arms being cut off and then reattached within an hour of each other. At least ninja magic allowed for a speedy recovery, even if it was just some fiction technology.
Either way, Mitako had the most pleasant of dreams. During the first dream, Mitako was being chased by his bijuu, with Hysterio's head on it. For some reason, this didn't wake him up, but rather woke him up inside of another dream. In the second dream, Mitako found his way into an abandoned warehouse that was completely void of any thing. The floor was black, the walls were black, and the ceiling was black. The only reason it was distinguished into a ware house was because the windows had shown an eerie light, and these big white on above the door that read "EAST ISLAND SHIPPING CO. WAREHOUSE." Mitako wandered the ware house for a moment, before he heard some shuffling behind him. Due to the overall darkness and everything being black, Mitako couldn't make out the source of the sound. He pressed on, stumbling over small boxes every now and then. He found his way to a stair case it seemed, and began climbing it when he suddenly felt something grab his shoulder, and he woke up in another dream.
This time, he was in Kirigakure, but it was different. Everybody was all happy and cheery, and Xyxer could even be seen handing out candies and birthday cards to sick children. This disgusted Mitako, and he soon woke up from that nightmare in what he assumed would be an empty hospital room. This would be a few hours after he passed out, and after a quick examination, the doctor cleared him to go. He grabbed his equipment, and after strapping up, left for someplace he could train.
