Hello, world! [ Training ]
Fri Jul 03, 2015 1:26 pm
The day was bright, warm and sunny, full of promise one could say. It was around noon-hour, mostly because any earlier and the girl wouldn't have been caught dead outside of her house. She didn't do well with mornings, not at all. It was a very fatal flaw of hers, but she loved to sleep in, and she loved to stay up late into the night. Even at the age of fourteen, if she got assigned a mission where she had to pull an all-nighter, she would've jumped at that opportunity far sooner than she would for getting up at the crack of dawn. Not that she got to choose her missions.
The girl had claimed a spot in front of a tree. Her flaming red hair seemed like it would be long, but it was being kept in twin odangos at the sides of her head and was covered in a black decorative cloth. The girl was very small, about 4'11", and built kind of like a 2x4. If anything, with how small and how shapeless she was, it was hard to discern her age. She wore a red cheongsam decorated with gold trim, complete with black leggings and black flat shoes, and two weapon pouches strapped to her waist.
Kayoko kept alternating training days. Some days were dedicated to her physical endurance. Others were dedicated to her strength. A lot of days were dedicated to her chakra. She was pretty determined to have a pretty balanced fighting style and not keep any weak spots. She knew that she was a small body type and could use that to her advantage with her speed. But, it helped her out if she had a mean punch behind her speed as well. No one ever saw the tiny girl coming.
One punch after another was being delivered to a poor tree, followed up by kicks. She was working on both the strength behind the punches and the speed behind them at the moment, and like all things, she was going all out. She kept a mental track in her head of how quickly she was following up with punches against the bark, and from her skewed judgement, she thought she was getting faster!
Probably not.
She finally took a stop after a little while and collapsed up against the tree, before sliding down to sit on the ground. She looked down at her knuckles-- raw, red and dirty, and she shook her head. Well, at least she'd develop callouses eventually. She reached into one of her weapon pouches and pulled out some bandages in a roll, then started to wrap them around her knuckles in a way that didn't constrict her fingers.

Cole had just finished running around and restocking his ninja tools from training he had been doing. He figured that he would run out to the training grounds and get a good round of training in. While walking around the training grounds heading to his normal spot at the tree by the creek. He happens to see a young girl that looked like she was training. She would punch the tree rapidly and throw some kicks in as well. He would watch her and see how long she was able to keep it up. He noticed that she was wearing the leaf ninja headband. Cole watched as she kept going for quit a few minutes before she finally gave out and turned around and leaned against a tree before sliding down to a sitting position.
Cole would walk over at this time till he was standing in front of her. He would squat down and with a smile say "its easier if you got someone to train with. I could help you if you want"? He didn't mind the only way to get stronger is to train and they only way for the village to get stronger is to help the other ninja get stronger. Cole thought to himself as he waited to see what she would do.

Of course there would be someone out here at the crack of noon. Usually there were classes out here on this training field, but this was the first person that she had even seen, let alone encountered. Her blue eyes slid up from her hands without raising her head. She had a bit of a funny face on-- perplexed for maybe half of a second, as long as it took to blink her eyes a couple of times. She looked the boy in front of her up and down. He seemed to be a couple of years her junior-- but he was a goddamn giant for how much of a babyface he had. Come to think of it, hadn't she seen him around the Academy before? It was hard not to place that kind of height in a crowd, even for someone as low to the ground as her. She got up to her feet with a fluid step. Oh well, it didn't matter really.
"Yeah, it probably would be, wouldn't it?" She cracked a giant grin that spread to her eyes and looked straight up at Cole. The perspective was a bit baffling after standing. Even after standing, she wasn't at level with the boy. She was used to it, but she wasn't used to such a difference. Eh, it didn't really matter to her in the slightest.
"I could use the help, yeah, why not?" She walked past the other boy confidently, a little bit of a bounce in her step. She settled a little further away from him, on the opposite side of him from the tree. Her positioning was for several reasons-- first, she needed room to move if she was sparring against a moving target. Second, she didn't want to be pinned up against the unmoveable object should he actually manage to overpower her. Third, perhaps she could use the terrain to her advantage to overpower him? Who knew. At any rate, she wasn't going to allow him that kind of handicap-- she'd probably already be struggling, knowing her.
"It's only polite to let you come at me, ne?" She beckoned him with her raised hand, and then settled into a stance that kept her low to the ground, with fists in front to cover her chest. "You did offer to spar with me, after all." She kept her eyes on the boy, waiting for him to make the first move.

Cole stand back up with the Kayoko, as she walks out from between him and the tree keeping an eye on cole. Cole was quit a bit taller then the girl, but he was used to that he normally was taller then most of the other people his age. Most of the adults would thought that he was older then he was. When cole asked her if she needed any help with her training. Kayoko told him that she could, and started to get ready. Cole then started to size her up a bit looking at her he could tell that he would have a slight advantage, but he didn't know what kind of jutsu she would have if any, but either way he would be prepared for it.
"it's only polite to let you come at me, ne?" Kayoko would say breaking cole out of his train of thought. He looked back at her and she had settled into a stance that kept her low to the ground, with her fists covering her chest. she would then add that cole offered to spar with her after all.
Cole would agree and take the offense by nodding when the girl spoke. " I have two question for you before we start. First my name is Cole yuki, what is yours if you don't mind, and second how experienced are you as a ninja yet" cole would say as he weaved a couple hand signs. "hidden mist jutsu" he would say after as a thick mist raised up and started to cover the battle field quickly reducing the sight of both of them. He would wait to hear her response before attacking.
