Salzem could only stare at the uzumaki, concern obvious on his face as the she lied to him yet again. He wasn't angry with her in the least, more was he scared for how badly she was torn up inside which justified her lie. She even went as to act as if everything was okay, winking at him and offering a thumb's up. He didn't respond with words. How could he? There wasn't really that much he felt he could say. He let her go as she brushed his hands of her shoulders and went about sitting in the sand in front of him. It seemed as if the red-head had something to say but didn't know how to say it... Salzem only stood a few feet away, unsure what to do. He couldn't help but look at the sand by his feet, for all the power he possessed, and with all this strength and speed, the pale-skinned boy felt helpless when he looked at Kira and the obvious suffering that radiated off her now. He wanted to embrace her again but he didn’t know how she’d react. He wanted to tell her something but he had no words. He wanted to sit down beside her but his legs wouldn’t move. He was rooted to his spot on the earth, silenced by his lack of voice. When Kira said his name, it was as if she brought his voice back. He was silent for a moment before being able to force out a single word in response.

“Yeah?” He asked, gaze slowly creeping up to meet Kira’s. She looked at him with an expression he couldn’t quite identify but her next words told him all he needed to know about how she was feeling. Melancholy dripped from her words as if it were some sticky syrup, but not sweet in the least. She asked him if he’s going to be staying in suna, a question even Salzem himself did not know. That depended on a few things, not least being Kira herself. Salzem stared at her for a moment, trying to think of a valid, true response.

“I will stay as long as you want me to stay…” Salzem said, offering the weakest of smiles.

“hmm…”

The Uzumaki formed thoughtful expression as she held her feet together with her hands, doing a butterfly stretch. Sal’s response had been unexpected to how she originally thought he would answer. A simple yes or no answer had turned into a question where the outcome was based on her decision. A few moments would pass where there was nothing but dead silence that stood between them. At last, the girl finally spoke just as a passing wind lifted her hair slightly. “Well, I guess you better get comfortable here.” The Uzumaki finally replied, her voice was filled with life. She proceeded to get up from her seated position and turn away towards Sal. “Well, I best continue on with my day. I have a mission coming up so I’ll catch you later.” Kira waved before heading off into the busy Suna streets.

Salzem stood in the silence, waiting for Kira's answer. Her facial expression was blank so he could not read her. She seemed to be probing him.... scanning him.... deciding whether or not he was even worth of asking such a question... It felt like hours (though probably it was only a few minutes) before Kira gave her answer and the sanguine-eyed boy relaxed. It seemed he would be staying for a little while longer. He smiled softly, and watched Kira silently as she walked past him and disappeared into the Suna streets. He couldn't help but feel relieved Kira didn't cast him out like a dog as Konoha had. Though, he felt that such a reaction would be well deserved after how he treated her, Salzem was relieved that their friendship extended beyond that. He'd have to make it up to her though. Salzem knew he had too... He kept that thought in the back of his mind, for whenever he'd have the chance, he would repay her for the kindness and understanding he didn't deserve. As soon as Kira disappeared into the ever-darkening streets, Salzem began his own trek down the opposite path for a nice roof or something to sleep under. Kazekage knows he needed some sleep... Salzem could feel the bags under his eyes beginning to form already... The young ninja slipped past the remaining people, finding a nice patch of shade off the road and flopped into it. He didn't care who saw or what they thought. He didn't have a house and he couldn't afford to waste his money in an inn. The shade was good enough for him.
