A New Partner: Levi!

Jack moved up to retrieve his kunai, and by the time he looked back, Levi was on his back on the ground.  At least he got onto the tree, thought Jack as he began to speak.  " After you get this, which should be fairly soon, we can start sparring or some other physical training.  We can meet up again soon teach you some more jutsu. ".  Jack then jumped down from the tree and started training his body flicker, moving in a triangle formation around the tree.  He should have this down by the end of today's training, before they started the physical training.  As he watched Levi succeed in his tree climbing, he sighed and realized that that would be much sooner than anticipated.  " Get down from that tree, we'll start with some jogging around the training ground, 20 laps should do.  Also, what element do you use?."  Jack wanted to know if he would be able to teach him any air jutsu, or just non-elemental jutsu.

When Levi woke up this morning he didn't expect to be training with an older Genin and learning some actual jutsu. From his perch he saw that the kunai was gone and he had to make a mental note to get some himself one day, as well as a belt pouch or two, so he could carry stuff he actually needed if he got into a fight.


Watching Jack from above, he knew with his speed he could probably keep up with him, though the flickering was a different story at this point. Hearing Jack mention sparing he smirked, Taijutsu was his specialty and he definitely could keep up with Jack, if not surpass him completely.


Being told to get down, Levi grabbed the limb with his good hand and swung down, dropping the ten feet or so, absorbing the impact with his feet and knees to soften the blow. "Twenty laps, got it." Now was time to show off just some of his speed. Jogging out to the edge of the training grounds, he picked up the speed slightly as he moved around the circle of the training grounds.


Each lap he picked up the speed slightly, not even beginning to breathe heavily, yet. With each lap he called out the number. About lap fifteen he started to get sweaty, so mid stride, he pulled off his white shirt. Muscles already showed quite well for his age, which would usually be concerning if he wasn't a ninja. 


The lines of a six pack were barely visible as well as the lines of his biceps and triceps. His legs would shoe the same definition if he was in shorts instead if baggy khaki pants. Sweat started rolling down his chest from the speed and excursion of jogging or well showing off. At lap twenty he stopped and breathed a little heavily. After all it had been a while since he tempted to show off for anyone, even his own classmates were never really impressed.


What they didn't know was he ran every bit of ten miles before he had to be at the academy, just to pump himself up. One reason the pants were so lose on his body, all the extra training and muscle gain. In fact everything he owned was baggy on him, especially since his father's death he hadn't been shopping for clothes or essentials. In fact he lived off the land he took care of after his days at the academy.


"Lightning is my clans element, its what I use but I wouldn't mind learning another element or two. Never know when it could come in handy. I've always been interested in water and paper elements."

Throughout the jog, Jack had kept pace with Levi perfectly, since neither went full speed and he finished in the same shape as wheen he started, minus some breath, some sweat, and his shirt.  There wasn't much time left in the day, so he decided they should start sparring.  " We should get started on the sparring soon, and on that ele!memnt subject." He paused to think of how to word this, " Paper is a clan element,like wood, or light.  To get it, you need the genes of that clan, so you either need to be born into it, or take the genes from someone who was.  By the way, that's murder slash maiming,which is illegal.  If you're dedicated to getting it, you could probably get it with some help.  Anyway, lets get started, you stand over there," Jack gestured to a spot about forty meters away from himself, to where Jack stood between the spot and the forest, which was about ten meters behind him.  " Now a fair warning, speed and strength are less than a third of a fight, where most of it is brains and stamina, with a sprinkling of jutsu and chakra." With that, he put his hands into the seal for transformation jutsu. " We start when you get in position". Jack had a special plan for this one.

As Levi ran towards him, Jack went over his plan one more time in his head.  First he had to use his clone jutsu, make one clone, and charge with himself and the clone side by side.  He would be on the side with the hurt arm, as a hit from closer would deal less damage and a hit from the hurt arm would be easy to block.  Now, to put that into effect.  He used his Clone Jutsu, creating a small cloud of smoke around himself.  Through the smoke, he threw one of his smoke bombs at Levi's feet, hoping to distract him as Jack ran forward on the uninjured side, and the clone ran on the injured side.  Soon they would be right next to him, and his plan would come to its finale.

After seeing what Levi was doing, Jack decided to take a new course of action.  As Levi's attack began, both him and his clone jumped to the side, planting them about five feet to the left and right of Levi.  Now I want for him to make his move, thought Jack.  He has no range, and can't go after us both, so either way, Ive got advantage.

When both Jacks jump aside, Levi puts his hand to the ground and pushes up, finishing the spin while standing.  Not knowing which one is the real Jack, he wipes the sweat off his hands and then puts them together.  Having no throwing weapons or really any weapons of his own, he has to get creative.  The only thing he can think of is a tecnique his father taught him a long time ago.  His clan used it when they were fighting to give them a better chance of winning the fight. 

Taking a deep breath in, he released it slowly as he focused on his chakra.  Letting it flow through him, he felt the air around him become charged in a way.  As he focused, the hair on his arms began to stand on end, then falter back in to place as he began to worry about an attack.  Taking in another deep breath, he released it and began again, this time his hair stood up on end and stayed. "Its working."  He thought as he kept his breathing calm and continued to focus on his chakra.

A few minutes passed by as he just stood there, seeming to not do anything, except make his hair rise on end like he had stuck his finger in a light socket.  The air around him was charged, but not as charged as he was making himself.  A little longer and it seemed his form was begining to crackle, energy rolled off of him as he smirked softly.  Opening his eyes, he flexed his fingers and felt the power from his element.  It wasnt much, but it was enough to let him stand a chance.  

Weighing his options, he chose the target on the right to attack.  Shifting his footing, he sprinted at Jack and drew his fist back, letting the chakra focus on the fist more.  Lightning was dancing off of it, as he thrust it forward into a punch aimed right at Jacks chest.  Bringing the other back, he threw another punch that wasnt charged at Jack as well.  A furry of punches aimed at Jacks chest continued to follow, even if Jack jumped backwards.  Eyes on the prize, Levi wouldnt let Jack escape this time.  Even if it meant using up everything he had, after all he was fighting with a broken arm, and that wasnt stopping him.

As Levi struck the clone, it disappeared into a cloud of smoke.  " That should be enough for today, meet me at the village gates tomorrow, I plan on introducing you to a friend. ” The real Jack said, 20 feet away, walking back to his house with his shirt over his shoulder.  He was slightly amazed at how the kid had done that without a jutsu.  I should try it out some time.
