One Sheep, Two Sheep Empty One Sheep, Two Sheep

Sun Feb 21, 2016 8:48 pm
Chi once again had found himself at Sheep Oasis but this time there was no Sheep vs Wolf war. Actually it was more relaxing and peaceful than any other place he been to. The reason why he was here in the first place was actually more or less for research. Chi wanted to know more about the sheep as they interested him so much and well they had a cool place to chill at from time to time. Unknown to Chi this place was actually nearly unfindable unless one had a sheep guide, or have a “Shepherd” (What sheep call the summoner) to guide them to this majestic place in the desert. The blonde was more amused of seeing the sheep of anything and prefered their company more than no company at all.

He planned to spend a day their to receive some training with the sheep since it was really the only time he ever fought with one was the day he first came to Sheep Oasis. The sheep actually taught him a lot of things and even questioned if he was a Sage of sorts as they noticed his ability to draw nature energy without any problems. “A Sage? No...not sure what you mean…”

“So you don't know what one is but you can gather Nature Energy….interesting indeed.” Oh yeah, Chi was with a Sheep named Guumo this time around. Apparently it was his duty as a Shepherd to get acquainted with all the other sheep. Fuu-Fuu was still around but Guumo seemed to be different in personality. Guumo was more of the critical thinking planning type while Fuu-Fuu was more fun driven than anything. “So you want to know more about us and this Sage thing? I can tell you a few things but not everything.”

“Why not everything?”

“Because we don't know much about you and why you can draw Nature Energy which can be a blessing in disguise or a curse. Either way you're an interesting fellow.”

“Fair, Okay at least tell me what a Sage is?”

“Mm, Sages are ones with Nature, having the ability to use Nature Energy and gain abilities of their summons….however you seem to possess the ability with no knowledge or training.”

“Ahh…” And then he remembered the whole thing he just learned a few days ago. “Nature Energy and Sages….that's good to know.” A sage had the ability to use nature energy something they were taught while Chi does it constantly without trying to. He can't control it like the so called Sages nor did he know how to use it. Chi continued following Guumo as he lead him to an open area in the oasis. “Here would do, Baah”

Chi looked at the sheep in confusion as it turned and faced him. “Do for what?”

“Training. To be a more potent summer results in training and so we prepared a course. Today you will go by several trials all with their own reason and purpose. Each one will be different so good luck, Fuu-Fuu and I will keep watch of you as well so….no...and I mean NO cheating whatsoever.”

“Okay, let's begin!” Chi was now seriously pumped not really knowing what type of training he was getting himself into as per the usual of his character. Cracking his knuckles and stretching he followed Guumo to the first training course. Which seemed normal at first but as you know, not everything is as it seems. “First course tests a person’s speed and reflex. From here to the finish line is a straight shot so I expect you to make it to the finish line in about a minute.” Guumo then made his way to the finish line which was a mile away once Chi saw the sheep stopped and laid down he knew he was ready. “Begin!”

Chi took off full speed towards the finish line not sure why this was classified as a Speed and Reflex course when nothing reflex was happening. Taking that back, there are traps and obstacles! Just missing it by hair’s length the boy ducked under a swinging log as he continued running. Now he knew why it is a reflex test. More and more things just kept popping out the blue and he was doing good at first until he was ultimately stopped by trip wire leading to a wood wall to pop out from under the sand and smacked him dead in the face. Chi was knocked on his back as he laid in the sand almost in a daze until Guumo came over to his side. “Again.” Getting up the boy rubbed his nose and made his sad walk back to the beginning as the traps and obstacles resetted. “Begin!” It was like deja vú except this time he knew what was going to happen. He dodge the first few obstacles and remembered to slow down to make sure not to trip the trip wire and after easing through the rest of the course he made it to the finish line. “AHAHA MADE IT!”

“Again, you were a second too late.”

“AAH!”

Going back to the beginning once again Chi got into a runner’s stance as he waited for Guumo to say begin. This time he knew what to do, he had to go fast enough to beat the time and slow enough to pay attention to the obstacles and traps. He dodged everything swiftly making sure to not trigger the traps and before he knew it himself he was standing at the finish line breathing heavily. “Well Done Chi, You got here at a minute exactly I'm impressed it took the last few summoners at least a few hours but it only took you ten minutes. Alright moving on to the next course.”

“Other summoners?” Chi thought about what Guumo said, he knew they were a summon contract but he wasn't sure about them actually having any other summoner before him which was something he wanted to know about. It didn't matter at the moment where these other summoners were at so he moved on with Guumo and Fuu-Fuu to the next course. Arriving at what seems to just be a very large pole at the top of a sand dune, Chi was confused as to what was he going to do next. “Chi you haven't ate anything before coming here correct?”

“Uh yeah why?”

“No reason. This course is testing strength and stanima. All you have to do is climb up that pole without using jutsu and stand on the top on one foot for three hours and you pass. Fall down or switching the foot your standing on and you fail. Good look.”

“What…” Chi watched as Guumo hopped? Skipped? Ehh a bouncy like walk up to the base of the pole making it fairly simple looking to get up there. Chi should have expected something was wrong with the sand dune. First of all it was super steep surprisingly and it was literally impossible for him to climb up without the sand shifting and turning not allowing him to grip on to anything as he helplessly slid down again and again trying to get up to the base of the pole. It took all his strength just to climb halfway up as the sand just effortlessly gave away just as he was almost there causing him to fall all the way back down to the bottom. He should start asking more questions about theses course as this was the second time Guumo didn't tell him certain things that were crucial to the course. “How about trying to stay light on your feat and be quick about it?” Chi wasn't getting irritated no he was just getting a bit angry and annoyed about it. Oh wait that's what getting irritated was. Chi got up once more and dusted the sand off and used Guumo’s little hint. He stayed light on his feet and climbed up the sand dune as quick as possible finally reaching the base of the pole. “Took you long enough. You may now begin.”

“Yeah suuure not like I didn't start already.” Chi examined the five meter high pole getting ready to gather chakra at the bottom of his feet and climb up it. “Remember now, no jutsu. Baaa” Chi groaned as he realized how much of a bitch this was going to be. He was fairly tired from just trying to get up to the base of the pole now he had to try and climb five meters up it? What type of shit is that? He reluctantly hugged the pole and began the very slow and long process of getting up to the top. It was straining his muscles as he can feel them burn with each slugging movemeng he took. Good thing he weighed a lot otherwise this would have been very impossible for him. Chi wasn't the strongest heck he wasn't even strong and yet here he was climbing up a pole using pure strength. He could havs made it up there too if his arms didn't give out causing him to fall from the pole and then slide down the side of the sand dune cursing under his breath as he did so. “Next time try not falling!” Groaning as he made his way back up the sand dune, he took of his headband and wrapped it around the pole. Figuring this should help lessen the strain on his already aching muscles, he climbed up it after a few almost fell off moments. Once on top it was a surprise to himself he even made it...then he realized he now had to stand up there for three long hours on a single foot. The things he do to get stronger….

So first attempt it took only a few seconds before his leg began to give out causing him to place both his feet down. He couldn't help it it was tiresome this was probably the harderst thing he will ever do in his entire life! Probably not but man was this killing him. He so wanted to just lay down and go to sleep and he really almost did go to sleep but waking himself back up as he felt himself beginning to fall. The hours went by slowly as he felt his body falling over only to regain balance once again. This was really a true test of endurance and stamina. Then his stomach growled he was getting hungry and now he knew why Guumo asked such a question about him eating anything before coming here. His stomach growled louder as his balance went haywire with it. “I need fooood uuuuuugh” Chi wobbled back and forth and was beginning to feel very uneasy about being up here. The heat was getting to him, the hunger, and the thirst, everything made him feel weaker by the second. Time continued to slowly move on as his stomach began to growl. “Be one with nature and ignore the hunger!” easy for guumo to say. Chi was about to just give up and fall down then go home. Yet it was against his character to give up so he had to really wait this out. This was all the strength, will and determination the ninja chef had as time slowly past until the very last second!

“Alright training is over now!” Guumo said with a numerous tone as he watched Chi body just give out and fall to the ground. The sheep let out a small chuckle as Chi rolled over on to his back and was breathing very heavily. “So kiddo you wanted to get stronger to impress people. Well you impressed me enough so you have gained my trust….not sure about the others but you seem to be fit enough for the job. You have my help and trust, use it wise.” With that Guumo walked/ skipped? Away. It seems he was ever so slowly getting closer and closer to his goal and with the help from Guumo he might be able to reach it faster.

Chi got to his feet immediately after his stomach growling to cook himself a feast! Yeah best ending for training right?
