Awkward Goodbyes and Punching Hello's

With Togi out of the way, Salzem proceeded to advance on Ryu who was lucky enough to not be effected by his pheromone bomb. He didn't seem to understand what was going on and that was just great because everything he didn't know was something the great wolf could exploit. Ryu shot multiple flaming balls at Salzem but he was easily able to deflect them with his palms, nothing too powerful or dangerous. It was when he took to the sky did Salzem cock his head in wonderment. How was he going to get there without putting himself on the disadvantage? Salzem couldn't fly and his ranged attacks were limited. He looked around for something to use but found nothing. None of the training dummies were heavy enough to give Salzem the weight to make each throw worth something. Instead, he decided he'd mill about below the ninja, waiting for his attacks to rain from above, He knew he'd become tired eventually as Salzem would memorize and dodge his potential attacks. There was little chance he was going to win if he simply hung in the air by the feet of his flaming flying chicken. Salzem was quite content to simply wait for Ryu to come down. In fact, he simply sat there, hands still burning, body still as fast as ever, but he seemed much more relaxed, almost mockingly so, brerating the seriousness of Ryu being hauled around by what equated to a cooking turkey dinner.

Salzem's sanguine eyes seemed to peer up at Ryu, a small joking smile curled on his lips.

"RYU!" Salzem called up to him. "STOP MESSING AROUND WITH YOUR FLYING CHICKEN AND FIGHT ME ALREADY!" At this point, the pheromone bomb had worn off, allowing Ryu the chance to come back down and fight him like the human he was.

As the feeling returned to his body and his muscles began to cooperate. Ryu looked down to Togi. So he is still unconscious and Salzem is very fast. If I keep flying I should have the advantage, but it is slightly unfair. When Fawkes as called a chicken it's eyes looked at the wolf. "If Ryu's ally wasn't down there I would hit you with my divine flames."

After the birds remarks Ryu continued to plan a strategy. I should try to use the majestic fire destruction once more, from up here. While maintaining his balance on the bird's back  the genin began to make hand signs and placed his hand's over his mouth as the fire energy began to fill his stomach. Then releasing a steady flow of flame from his mouth the fire raced forward stopping before the fire could even hit the wolf. Nope too short, and I need some time to recharge all of my other jutsu. Only, one option left the rasengan.


"Hey Fawkes can you drop me off on the ground quickly?" The bird nose dived and headed straight for the ground. "Near Salzem, I have a plan." The two were still pretty high to effectively hear the conversation, but it became obvious when the bird swooped in twenty feet above. Hopping off the birds back and onto the giant claw Ryu began to form his ball of chakra into his hand. He then jumped from the birds leg about fifteen feet high and aimed the rasengan at Salzem. (power 60, speed 80 if I use Fawkes's for this attack.) If Salzem would dodge the sphere would hit the surrounding sand creating a sand cloud, before dispersing.

From his position on the ground Togi observed as Salzem left him behind and headed towards Ryu, by now the wounds that the wolfman had inflicted had completely healed over and all that remained was the memory of the pain. 'Salzem-san is completely focussed on Ryu-senpai that is perfect...' Togi thought to himself while reaching out with his senses. 'Now is my chance to do something about this neurotoxin...' Togi mentally added as he turned his currently enhanced chakra senses inwards inorder to asses the effect the toxin had had on his system. Just as it had done before the chakra disturbance appeared to be entirely located around the nerves. 'It has not spread at all... That is a good sign....' Togi thought to himself as he slowly reached out and with the tips of his fingers he began to carefully unscrew the lid of his water canteen. Making sure not to move Togi then began to channel his chakra in to the water enriching and infusing it with medical chakra.

With the water prepared now came the hard part. Shifting his weight slightly to the side Togi twisted and raised his back by the smallest amount. Forming a tiny chakra scalpel at the tips of his fingers Togi then made a small incision just to the side of his spine. Togi then took the biggest risk so far and quickly brought his hands together as he formed the tiger hand seal. The young medic nin then took control of his chakra within the water and willed it to emerge out of the open water canteen and snake it's way towards the tiny incision he had made as a tiny tendril of water.

'Ryu-senpai is right... this does feel extremely weird!' Togi thought to himself as he directed the water to enter his body. With his hands firmly clamped together in the tiger hand seal Togi then directed the water to follow the path of his nerves as he began to absorb the toxic wolf pheromones. After a good few moments that felt like a lifetime to the prone but sensory enhanced ninja he had absorbed the majority of the toxin in to the water and he had begun to direct it out back the way it had come.

A thin tendril of dull greasy looking water emerged from the tiny incision though it was hard to see due to the fact that Togi's back was still close to the ground, the water then seemed to flow straight back in to the water canteen from which it had come. 'That will have to do...' Togi thought to himself as he replaced the cap and sealed the water canteen back up.

Ever so slowly the young medic then climbed back to his feet. 'No point in revealing just how much of my movement I have managed to restore...' Togi thought to himself as he refocused his attention back on Ryu and Salzem. Togi was relieved to find that Ryu had yet been harmed nor had Salzem yet to completely lose control. Seeing as the Ryu and Salzem were currently focussed on each other Togi waited for an opportunity to act wondering if either of the two would realise he had climbed back to his feet.

Salzem sneered as Ryu hopped off his glorified chicken dinner and fell towards him, taking his bait with relative ease. Salzem cracked his burning knuckles eagerly, awaiting whatever trick or tactic the kid was about to employ. Much to his disappointment, all he did was form a rasengan and fall at him, repeating this simple and obvious combat maneuver like it was going out of style. The great wolf's cocky sneer turned into a disappointed frown as the kid fell towards him like a brick, his arm outstretched and clutching the rotating ball of death. Salzem could have simply stepped back out of Ryu's range and clocked him with a burning fist, but that wouldn't have taught him anything beyond what he already knows. Salzem rolled his eyes and waited until the last possible moment before the Rasengan touched him, Salzem would spring to the side (speed 190) using the Taijutsu body flicker and would appear in an instant behind Ryu as he hovered in the air, 7 1/2 feet from the ground. Salzem would then swing his massive burning hands around, crashing into the back of Ryu's upper spine in a devastating double backhand smash, sending him on a very intimate introduction with the sand (strength 50, speed 140, Fire power, 50) The white wolf would land gently in the sand next to Ryu, his arms crossed, tsking him.

"Come on. You're smarter than that. That Rasengan is simply too wide-a movement for you to be throwing around like that. Show me what you've got when you dig yourself out of that hole." As he said this though, Salzem's wolven ears twitched, sensing the minor movements dancing-puppet kid was making. Much more than he should... Salzem cracked his knuckles and turned to face him, growling. The kid was standing so soon!? How!? He should be down for a good 15-20 more minutes at the very least! Salzem's puzzled nature didn't last too long, favoring his animistic confidence over human bewilderment. The kid wasn't standing as confidently as he was before, Leading the wolf to believe that he was still under the influence of his Pheromones, even if, in reality, he wasn't. Salzem growled louder, warning the kid off in the most primal of ways, as if he were saying "If you take a step closer, you're really not going to like what happens next."

Togi winced slightly at the sheer power that Salzem used as he struck at Ryu and the sheer brutality of the attack. The young medic nin hoped that the other Genin would be ok but he realised that currently there was nothing that he could do to help except perhaps to keep Salzem occupied until Ryu recovered. Togi's enhanced chakra senses however reassured the Hyuuga Genin that Ryu had atleast survived the attack and his chakra network down his back had remained uninterrupted suggesting that his back had not been broken.

Togi paid little heed to the growl of warning that Salzem gave him and instead slowly hobbled forwards doing the best impression of someone with reduced mobility that he could muster. As he got close Togi reached in to his weapons pouch and pulled out three shuriken then with a sudden flick of the wrist Togi revealed his true speed as launched the three metal ninja stars forwards at a throwing speed of 135. One of these shuriken was aimed just to Salzem's left, one to his right while the third was aimed directly at the wolfman's chest. The positioning of the shuriken would hopefully make evading them all difficult and with a sharpness of 47 they would hopefully slice through Salzem's tough hide if they hit. Togi however didn't stop there, waiting until the moment when Salzem would attempt to evade or block the razor sharp projectiles Togi would then leap forward during Salzem's moment of distraction moving at a speed of 165 he would attempt to slam in to Salzem with a rather dynamic kick at strength of 40 hopefully knocking the wolfman backwards and away from the sandcastle that Ryu had become.

Landing lightly back upon the ground Togi would then slip smoothly back in to a defensive gentle fist stance positioning himself between Salzem and Ryu. "Ryu-senpai I thought we had agreed that hiding in sand dunes was not a good idea..." Togi declared as he remained facing Salzem while his chakra senses studied his every move.

"Yeah, I shouldn't have done that." Ryu said with sound muffled by his own personal sand pit. Then turning over wincing with burning pain he began to form seals for the basic medical technique. A jutsu that allowed scabs to form and blood to clot this however would take some time and it seemed Salzem was doing a good job at instructing. When he heard the wolf talk about the Togi not coming any closer. He began to speed up the recovery process and still had to climb from the hole.
 
He began to hear things above him from the hole, the sound of shuriken and the noises people make when attacking with taijutsu. Okay, well if I want to surprise them both now is the time I guess. Filling himself with wind energy and letting some of the newly formed scabs break open when his muscle mass increased the boy was ready to get back into the fight. After de-summoning the phoenix the boy shot out of the sand and looked around for both Togi and the wolf. Once he had figured out where they both were he made a a few hand seals before spurting a wide array of flames form his mouth. Fire release: Majestic fire destruction. (Power 50, Speed 80, 10 meter cone.) As the flame shot forth it seemed to be getting closer to what it should be but the technique behind it wasn’t there yet.
 

After looking for Salzem and Togi, he assumed that they would dodge as he sent the stream from a pretty far distance to avoid hitting them full on with the blast. So he waited to see one of them through the smoke of the burnt sand.

Salzem swiped his claws, nearly backhanding the shurikens as they sailed toward him (HP of claws 50, speed 140 ) and, with a heavy clang, sent the stars spinning wildly into the sands. As soon as the weird-dancing-puppet kid threw them, however, he took a mighty leap and trusted his foot at Salzem's chest, looking like an over-dramatic kick more than anything. Salzem never bothered to learn this move while he was brushing up on the basics. It seemed much too flamboyant for his taste. At least he wasn't screaming the name of the kick or that just might've been too much. Just might've. Instead of simply ducking or dodging, he thrusted his arm forward, the massive, burning, gnarled hand connecting with the kid's foot, with a speed of 140 and a strength of 70. He wasn't able to get his arm fully extended before contact, but that didn't matter. All that did was that he'd break something of the kid's. If chemicals wouldn't slow him, then maybe a broken foot would. After getting his face melted off in Salzem's flames then recovering from it, he was sure a simple dozen fractured/shattered bones wouldn't be much of a challenge. The kid would easily be knocked back a couple dozen feet due to the difference in their power. It was at this point, Salzem smelled burning and not just his burning-flesh smell. Salzem threw himself to the left/to the ground at speeds of 140, anticipating an attack. Apparently he was right as a massive flaming cone erupted from the mouth on an unburied Ryu. Much to Salzem's advantage, the flames kicked up a cloud of dust and sand, giving Salzem a nice wall of cover to exploit. He was going to need to soon, considering he was starting to run low on energy. Now, Salzem didn't necessarily need to win, but he definitely not coming in last. He took a deep breath, aiming in the direction Ryu stood prior to the sand-wall coming up and let out a massive roar, creating a shockwave that crashed toward the kid with a strength and speed of 60, hoping the sudden blast would catch him by surprise.

Deciding that was enough, Salzem stopped his assault and relaxed his muscles.

"Thats enough for today I think." The flames disapated from his hands before he began to walk his way out of the training grounds. He needed to go sleep. Sleep for days.

While Ryu was workin on his fire style jutsu he seemed to call it quits for the day. So looking at the sun in the sky the genin decided that leaving would probably be for the best. It was getting late and the nights of the desert were cold, well not when you have a giant flaming bird. "Hey, Fawkes I'm going to go get dinner are you in?" The bird answered back with a bird call as it bean to lower itself in the sky to pick up Ryu. 

"See you later Salzem and Togi." The genin remarked as he was snatched up by the creature's claws and was carried into the sky waving as he went up. "So Fawkes where should we go to eat?" He asked looking up as the bird continued to move while dropping him off onto the roof of a local bakery. "I want banana bread." The phoenix said as it started scratching under its wing with its beak. Ryu ran inside and bought the requested item throwing it to the bird once he came back outside. "Thanks for the help Fawkes." The genin said as he released the bird back to its home.
