Repair the Bridge

The days had been long during the past few weeks for Ryuzaki, he had a constant regime of training, working and sleeping. Recently he had found himself also adding studying into that mix, he spent time in the village library researching both jutsu and elemental chakra. During his current stint in the library he received a summons for his next mission, he had two scrolls he had picked out to learn next, both lightning element ninjutsu. Ryuzaki believed he had learnt about his natural chakra element, hand signs and chakra control to attempt learning this mid-level ninjutsu, but now he had a mission to accomplish.

Ryuzaki made his way from the village library to the main offices of the village ninja, they were close together so it only took a few minutes. This was his second mission he had received from the council and he hoped this time it was a little more excited, even though he enjoyed helping people the last mission was not exactly challenging, albeit it he got a good training session in over the day. Ryuzaki entered the great dome that housed the council chambers, he made his way around the edge and up the stairs to the level in which they resided. Knocking on the door he waited for an invitation to enter the room. The usual set of elders and ninja sat in front of him to deliver the specifics of the mission before him.

"Hotaru Ryuzaki, Genin, your performance in the last mission assisting Mr Fukajuki was excellent and he payed a significant bonus to the village due to it, he is a man of great wealth and you did him a just service! Due to your exceptional performance in this task we have decided to assign you something a little more difficult!" The elderly man stopped speaking and a ninja that sat beside him took over "There is a school of fighting fish that have been damaging the bridges connecting the parts of the islands together, you are assigned to assist in the repair of one of these particular bridges, to guard the builders and also assist them in any way they ask of you!" The man adjusted the papers in front of him and held out a scroll "You are permitted to end any of these fish that attack either the bridge or your charges, but do not cause unnecessary damage to the Eco system of the village." Ryuzaki bowed his head in acknowledgment of this task and walked forward to receive the scroll with the mission details on, he thought to himself that the lightning ninjutsu would come in very handy if he were to fight these fish, he would double his efforts during this mission to learn the particular lightning jutsu.

Ryuzaki made his way out of the room respectfully bowing before leaving and shutting the door quietly, when he turned around there were several academy students waiting outside anxiously with their chuunin instructor.
