Sakaiza was in the village library, he had been devoting today to learning about notable taijutsu fighters in history. Perhaps he would be able to improve his skills by reading of those who had already honed theirs. Therefore he had set out to the library. When he would arrive, there was nothing but a small desk in the greeting area. There sat a rather elderly lady who looked as if she would croak at any given moment. She sat there, reading a book that appeared to be a culinary one due to the pictures of dishes followed by what seemed to be laundry listed bullets, likely the ingredients. Sakaiza strolled up to the front desk and immediately greeted her.
“Hello miss, I’m Sakaiza. Might you be able to direct me to where I could find books about taijutsu fighters of history?” he politely inquired. As he spoke, he noticed that the lady never removed her eyes from the book in front of her, which made him grow slightly frustrated from her disrespect. However, he kept his feelings under control and instead awaited her response. About 20 seconds passed and she did not respond at all. By this time, Sakaiza was definitely frustrated as he indicated in his tone of voice, “Uh ma’am? Excuse me, but I said I’m looking for some taijutsu books. Can you help?” he let out again. This time, the lady opened her mouth to begin to speak, giving Sakaiza hopes that she might respond. Instead, she only yawned and rubbed her eyes slightly.
Now irritated, Sakaiza approached her even closer than before. He put his hands on the desk and moved his face close to hers. “Hey old lady! Can you take a break from dying to do your job?” he exclaimed in the quiet library. Some people who had been silently reading off in the distance exchanged unfriendly glances at Sakaiza, judging him to themselves. He looked up and noted their expressions and in turn made a juvenile response. He formulated his face to be silly yet teasing, his tongue out, eyes squinted and brow furrowed. The readers simply turned their heads in disgust and continued reading their books to themselves. The receptionist did not even respond to Sakaiza’s demand. Instead she flipped the page, moved her finger underneath the current word her eyes had been fixated on and followed the subsequent words as she read the book. Now increasingly bothered, Sakaiza calmed down and removed himself from the face of the receptionist and turned around. Perhaps she was deaf, or maybe just had really bad hearing. Or maybe she was senile and couldn’t bring herself to come up with words to respond to Sakaiza’s request. Considering this, Sakaiza began to feel bad for his last comment, realizing that old people are still people too, regardless of how rude they might be.
He scratched his head and began to think to himself. “You know, maybe she just doesn’t know where I could find the books. But still, where should I start? There’s so many books here. I guess I’ll just go down the line and check out each one…” he thought to himself, releasing a heavy sigh for he knew there were likely thousands of books and he basically signed himself up to check the titles of each one before he would find what he was looking forward. He ceased to scratch his head and now took several steps back from the front desk, now deciding to completely abandon seeking help from the receptionist who was clearly no use to him. As he started to walk past the front desk, once his foot passed the terminal corner of the desk, a kunai flew at him.
Sakaiza jumped back, narrowly avoiding the kunai which seemed to originate from the receptionist’s direction. Now steaming mad, he directed his attention at the librarian who was staring angrily at Sakaiza in turn. “Hey what’s the big idea you old bag? You could have killed me!” he let out, once again drawing the attention of those reading in the back. By this time, he held no remorse whatsoever for the unhelpful, seemingly evil librarian.
The librarian, with her piercing gaze focused on Sakaiza had a staggering look in her eyes now. Sakaiza noting this, grew slightly worried, for there was nothing scarier to him than an upset woman’s gaze. He took several steps back as she dropped her book and began to speak. “Young man….” She started, with her elderly voice cracking, “do you….” she continued, creating a feeling of suspense and tension in Sakaiza’s heart. “Have a library card?” she finished, still with her piercing gaze fixated on Sakaiza. Sakaiza, who at this point was struck with fear, upon hearing the end of the librarian’s statement was slightly outraged.
“Are you kidding me? That’s why you almost killed me?! No I don’t have a stinking library card, is that a problem or something?” he said brashly, while trying to keep his head calm, cool and collected. While he attempted to do so, he was breathing heavily, face likely transition from its brown, natural tone to an irate, red one. He could not believe that this woman almost critically injured him all over a library card. Upon the end of his series of questions the librarian let out, “You may not enter this library unless you have one! Every student that has graduated the academy has one! Now get out!” she said while hurling multiple kunai at Sakaiza. Sakaiza, absolutely terrified of this woman dodged each kunai and retreated from the library while exclaiming, “Just you wait! I’ll be back! And I’ll have a damn library card too!” he said while running out of the building and hiding from the continuous knives by standing along the walls outside of the library. As he braced against the exterior of the wall he caught his breath and a thought struck him, “Well how am I supposed to get a library card! I’m pretty sure I lost mine the day I graduated, so where am I supposed to get one of these?”
Now with this dilemma in mind, an idea hit him, like a freight train hitting a victim tied to the railway tracks: “I’ll just sneak in!” he thought, while immediately employing his transformation jutsu. This jutsu transformed him into a younger, academy student who held a library card in hand. Now with his weapon in his hand, he knew he would be able to defeat the overly protective librarian. He waltzed into the library with a confident smile on his face, holding his library card in his hand by his face and walked right passed the front desk. “Oh sweetie” the librarian began, forcing the transformed Sakaiza to halt in his place. He began to sweat lightly in fear that his plan would have failed as he waited to hear what the librarian would have to say now. “Enjoy the library!” she said in a pleasant tone while refocusing her attention back on her book. Sakaiza, still sweating, nodded and walked right past the front desk. “Wow, I can’t believe that that actually worked. Now the hard part: finding the books I’m looking for.” He thought to himself as he gazed upon the plethora of books lined, filed and organized in the library.
Walking around the library, he thought to activate his Byakugan in order to see the individual names upon each book better from his relative position. His eyes shifted from book to book noting books about the kazekages of the past, genjutsu release techniques, the great wars of the past year and cooking books, which was likely where the librarian got the one she was reading from. His eyes moved from book to book, scanning each and then moving on to the next until he finally found what he had been searching for. “Taijutsu Specialists Throughout History” the book was titled, as it sat on the top shelf on the second floor of the library. He smiled to himself knowing that he had just came across precisely what he set out to find. He wasted no time briskly walking to the book, as he mentally prepared himself for the information we was about to learn. However, he had to keep his excitement to a minimum in order to make sure that he didn’t break his transformation jutsu until he was far away from the librarian, who would no doubt hurl more kunai and shurikens at Sakaiza again.
When he would finally reach the book, he climbed up the nearby ladder and extended his arm to grab the book. When he finally reached it, the ladder tipped over and Sakaiza fell from the ladder resulting in a loud thud to happen, which the receptionist would surely hear. As he did, he clutched the book close to his chest and broke his fall with his back. Once he landed, a slight *poof* occurred, disrupting the transformation jutsu and causing Sakaiza to return to his original form. At this point, he knew that he was screwed if he were to be caught in the library with the book. Thus, Sakaiza did the logical thing that any intruder would do: he ran. He ran from one end of the library to the other, book in hand trying to make his footsteps as light as possible so that the receptionist wouldn’t find him. As he squatted behind a bookshelf upon the opposite side, he watched the librarian walk up the stairs and investigate the origin of the thud. She walked towards where Sakaiza just was and saw the fallen ladder. She picked it up, leaned it back against the bookshelf and started down the stairs to return to her desk.
Sakaiza, almost in disbelief silently rejoiced for he didn’t get caught and thus wouldn’t be getting thrown out of the library. He was brimming with joy, for now he was finally passed the receptionist and her wall of obstacles that she would constantly throw at Sakaiza, he could finally read in place. Now in a dark corner of the library, illuminated only by the natural light from a nearby window, Sakaiza leaned his head against the wall, propped his knees up and laid the book across them. He opened up the book and immediately flipped to the table of contents. He saw many notable taijutsu fighters, including recognizable names such as Might Guy, Rock Lee, Lady Tsunade and even Neji Hyuuga. Hyuuga, exactly what Sakaiza was looking for. He flipped to Neji’s respective page and began skimming through his information. It seemed as if he was one of the most renowned Hyuuga clan members, being ranked so high in the list of taijutsu fighters, but it seemed as if Sakaiza had learned the majority of his techniques. Except his eyes finally fell upon a jutsu called “Gentle Step: Twin Lion Fists” which was not elaborated on too much besides the fact that it was the highest ranked Hyuuga clan jutsu that there was to learn. Sakaiza duly noted this and continued to read. It seemed as if Neji was close to another Konohagakure no Satu Hyuuga member. This member was none other than Hinata Hyuuga, of the main branch. She was not present in this book, although the book referred to another which she was detailed extensively in: “Hyuuga Clan: Descendants of the Main Branch”.
Now, Sakaiza would need to search for this book, for the book he currently had did not have enough information in it to reasonably teach him anything. He stood up, and hit his head on the bookshelf above him, causing a book to fall from it in turn. Realizing that this book falling would make a loud noise, Sakaiza moved quickly and caught the book just before it hit the ground. Ironically enough, the book that he now held in his hand was “Hyuuga Clan: Descendants of the Main Branch”. He laughed to himself, realizing that it was pretty funny how the world worked sometimes. He immediately returned to his sitting position, blew the dust off the book he just read and began reading it. It consisted of many notable figures, Hiyashi, Hitashi and finally Hinata. In summary, it said that she was a daughter of the main branch and she coined a particular, defensive jutsu called, “Protection of the Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms”. It actually went on to describe the appearance of this jutsu in depth, almost as if an Uchiha had seen it and documented an accurate recording of it. The description consisted of the following:
“Protection of the Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms
Like the Palms Revolving Heaven, this jutsu is a defensive one. However, it is more defensive than offensive. It allows the user to rotate his or her arms with flat palms revolving around the user, thus defending him or her self from any incoming attacks. This technique employs the natural speed and flexibility of a Hyuuga clan member, and can only be done by one. Through the quick, rotational palms, a thin chakra stream is formed which extends around the user and creates a razor sharp wire like chakra that is able to defend from attacks while attacking those nearby. Essentially, it is a combination of the sixty four palms and the palms revolving heaven techniques.”
Sakaiza, now with widened eyes grew even more excited. He had already known the Eight Trigrams techniques Sixty Four Palms and Palms Revolving Heaven, he was flexible and he was fast so he met all of the qualifications to do this technique. Thus, with the learning of a new jutsu being the first thing on his agenda for the day, teaching himself and practicing that jutsu was the second and final thing on his to do list. He placed the book back to its respective location and returned the other book to its location on the opposite side of the library. He then started down the stairs forgetting the librarian had already forbidden his entrance to the library. Perhaps she forgot though. Sakaiza tested this by walking right passed the desk while slightly eyeing the receptionist. As he passed the terminal corner of the desk, no kunai came flying towards him. For it seemed as if she had been sleeping now. This was more than fine with Sakaiza, as he strode out of the library with a happy expression on his face.
Leaving the library, he began to make his way to the training grounds, where he would teach himself the technique he just learned of. As he made his way there, he had a large smile upon his face, knowing that after today, he would be one step closer to learning all of the Eight Trigram and Gentle Fist arts of the Hyuuga Clan. The sun was bright and shinning while the weather was sweet, contrasted with a cool breeze that would instantly wipe away the sweat from a sweaty shinobi’s forehead. Sakaiza knew that today would be a good one. With each approaching footstep, it seemed as if a new thought occurred to him. He reflected on the first Hyuuga that he met outside of his immediate family: Togirama. He wondered how much of the Eight Trigrams and Gentle Fist that he was aware of, and he wondered if Sakaiza was advanced enough to be able to take him full on now. Probably not, for Sakaiza recalled that it seemed as if Togirama had been holding back the entire time in their spar.
Nevertheless, he was the reason why Sakaiza had come so far, for he had taught him of the first Eight Trigram technique he learned, which apparently was one of the two, core foundations of the technique that Sakaiza would be practicing today. The next thought that popped into Sakaiza’s head was regarding his father. He wondered if his father was aware of this technique, and if he had ever seen it. He could only imagine so, considering that his father was one of the Hyuuga Clan’s combat instructors. Once again, he thought about how proud his father would be if he were still alive to see the progress of his son.
Sakaiza stopped in his place and wiped away what he would excuse for sweat underneath his eye. He grew slightly emotional thinking about his father but realized that now was not the time for tears. He tightened the headband upon his forehead, brushed down the dust from himself that fell onto him in the library, and continued to take his first steps of the day into the training grounds. When he would get there, there would be an excessive amount of people that seemed to be training today. They all, ironically enough, were practicing taijutsu techniques. Sakaiza watched them and noted their speeds and power. All of them were reflective of lower level shinobi, or chuunin which just happened to skate by during the chuunin exam. Perhaps they were specialized in different jutsu types, and they just wished to improve their taijutsu. Either way, Sakaiza knew that they would be important to the later portion of his training. Upon learning this new technique, he would prompt all of them to attack him to see if he could successfully ward off all of their incoming attacks. But that was Sakaiza’s mind just wandering off to think of the future, he still needed to focus on the matter at hand, learning the actual technique.
He took a spot in the training grounds and began his pre – training ritual: stretching. He reached his hands towards the sky, then down towards his toes. He spread out his legs and reached for each one. He’d continue various different stretching exercises until his limbs felt loose and lumber. Next came the assumption of his Gentle Fist stance which was now significantly modified from what it originally had been. His arms were tucked in more than what he had been taught, feet closer together but knees more bent. Sakaiza figured that this more reserved style of the stance would all his thrusts to be more powerful, movements to be quicker and defenses to be heightened. However, he had desired to create a more raw form of the gentle fist. But for this particular technique of interest, the more defensive style seemed to be more appropriate, considering that the technique of interest of the day was a defensive one. Now with his limbs loose and his stance tight, he would focus his chakra. He would distribute his massive reserves directly to his palms, in preparation of creating the field of chakra that would project from his body when he would be conducting this technique.
With all of his pre training ritual complete, Sakaiza was ready to begin. He began to rotate his arms, while still in his stance, to test his flexibility. His left arm could cross over completely to his right side and could reach quite the distance behind his back. His right arm being able to do the same with his left side respectively. As his arms continued to rotate at a slow, base speed, he began to speed up. He wanted to ensure that he would be able to maintain this extreme flexibility even with larger speeds. He continued to increase and increase the speed of this rotation until his arms were essentially flying around his body in a wild, yet coordinated fashion. Those shinobi around him training watched as Sakaiza’s arms moved so quickly, yet they wondered what he could possibly be doing. From their perspective, it would probably look like Sakaiza was just uncontrollably flailing his arms, but in truth there was a method to his madness. His arms continued to rotate until they would reach the max speed that they could, which caused the wind around him to break and kick up nearby sand. As a result, chakra began to form around his upper body, creating what seemed to be like a protective barrier around only his torso, arms and head. His lower body was more than likely excluded due to the fact that he had not been remaining in the appropriate stationary position. Therefore, proving to himself that he could generate this chakra based dome shield, he ceased spinning his arms. The sand around him which had been slightly floating had now dropped and the chakra field he created retracted back inside his body. Those same shinobi which had been watching Sakaiza in confusion were now in awe, yet they hadn’t even seen the actual, correct jutsu yet.
He gave his arms a quick break as he slid his feet to be touching now. His ankles met and his toes were pointed outwards. He allowed his knees and thighs to touch, and his arms hung down. Sakaiza now had his body symmetrically centered and was ready to begin the actual technique. Therefore he began swinging his arms. As they initially swung, this eventually transitioned into full circle swings, alternating in front of his body. He extended the fingers on each hand out to form open palms and the chakra throughout his body began pumping to his palms, thus creating a small field of continuous chakra in front of him. Following this, his hands and arms began to rotate behind and beneath his body instead of just in front of him. They started to pick up in speed, and as a result formed a larger protective aura of chakra. Now reaching half of their maximum speed, the stream of chakra began tightening and conforming into smaller streams, seemingly becoming sharper as Sakaiza’s speed increased. At three fourths of their maximum speed, the streams decreased in diameter, becoming even tighter while expanding on their range of interest. Once at their maximum speed, Sakaiza’s arms and palms had finally and successfully completed the technique. As a result, this dome of razor thin chakra wires had extended to 5 meters all around him, generating quite a large area of interest. Those shinobi watching him were quite surprised that this would be the result of the technique that they had just recently laughed at and mocked Sakaiza for doing, since he looked kind of silly. But now that they witnessed it in its truest form, it was nothing to snuff at. Sakaiza, who was satisfied with the progress of this technique, ceased to spin his arms and this time did not feel the excess strain on them from the technique. If anything he enjoyed the pumping of adrenaline throughout his body and the feeling of his arms being completely stretched out from their constant revolutions around his body.
Realizing that the shinobi near him had all been looking at him, he laughed to himself for seemingly causing a scene. Eyeing each one of them, he counted ten. Ten shinobi of low, genin leveled taijutsu ability. The odds were in their favor to break his defensive barrier, yet Sakaiza knew that he would be able to repel each and every single one of them. He reflected back to his original thought upon entering the training grounds and decided to now implement it. “All of you, please I need to practice the technique you just witnessed. It is a defensive one, so I need each of you to attack me while I am unleashing this technique. Feel free to rush me, throw kunai, launch fireballs at me, whatever you think is appropriate. You can begin your respective assaults whenever you are ready.” He let out while his palms hung beneath his waist. The shinobi looked at each other in confusion, but figured that they would might as well help a fellow Sunagakure no Sato shinobi practice his jutsu. One shinobi threw several kunai at Sakaiza. This was followed by others sending air bullets and fire balls alike towards Sakaiza. Some even began to charge him, with full intentions of delivering punches and kicks to him. Sakaiza, as the first kunai drew near him, immediately began to rotate his palms almost instantly around his body. As a result, the three kunai were repelled and ricocheted off of Sakaiza’s hardened palms and chakra wire. Everything coming his way faced a similar fate, the fireballs and air bullets had just dissipated around him and the incoming strikes of the shinobi were successfully defended against.
As it proved futile to attack Sakaiza, the shinobi stood away from him and informed him that they were finished attacking him and hoped that his desires were fulfilled. He stopped spinning his arms and looked at each, slightly disappointed that they had no more attacks to hurl at Sakaiza, but nevertheless he was happy with their participation. He bowed and thanked them all collectively, then left the training grounds. He made his way back to the library with intentions on thanking the unhelpful librarian. On the way he thought about how he had just learned another Hyuuga jutsu and felt quite proud of himself. He knew that there were only two techniques that he knew of that he had yet to learn. The mountain crusher and the twin lion fists, both of which he planned on learning soon enough.
When he finally reached the library he peaked his head around the corner to see if the receptionist was still reading: she was. He approached her, bowed before her and opened his mouth to speak, “I apologize for my disobedience earlier. I snuck past you, entered the library and read about my clan’s heritage. I hope that all is well and you don’t hate me.” He said, expecting the library to be pissed off about the fact that he had broken into the library.
The receptionist simply closed her book, placed it on the desk and reached underneath the counter. Sakaiza, who was worried that she would break out another kunai or shuriken to throw at him, braced himself. Instead, she simply placed a small card on the desk, picked her book back up and continued to read it. Sakaiza slowly but surely approached the desk, curious to see what the card was that she had left in front of her. When he would reach it, he looked upon it and it was nothing else but his lost library card. Someone likely had found it and had returned it to her. She said nothing though. Sakaiza, grateful, bowed before her and picked up his library card. When he would turn around to walk out of the library, the receptionist cut her eyes towards him and smiled.
