Re: Cactus Hunting...? [Mia, P]

The lightning wasn't hurting him, nope not hurt at all. It wasn't strong enough to have lasting effects it was just a quick shock that lasted for more seconds when it came into contact with his skin. It wasn't as painful when he first had his experience with lightning when he went against a much higher skilled shinobi who ended up shocking with some lightning jab thing. Now that was painful, It was because it was more concentrated unlike Mia’s chakra which was just going all around.
He was glad she grabbed on to his hand. The lightning seemed to stop trying to harm him once contact was made and he tightly gripped her hand. He continued to hold onto to it as he watched the lightning beginning to resemble….snakes? Why yes it looked like snakes as they zapped about one even coming in contact with his skin...which was a bit painful but whatever he cared less about it. He knew that wasn't intentional and actually grew nore curious about that. How she did that he couldn't really answer and it seemed like she wasn't so sure for herself when she immediately yanked her hand away. To qoute star wars, There’s a disturbance in the force. Well he couldn't actually sense it but judging from her body actions he could tell.
He examined the spot where it made contact and slightly chuckled as he was expecting and actual wound but only to find nothing. He then looked at her and shrugged. It seem she had a problem with the lightning? Maybe something he would probably never know but he figured just giving up now would be a waste.
“Focus, Mia.” he said as he walked closer to her again. Still gathering his lightning Chakra into his hand reaching it out towards her. “You can do this, I believe in you. I'm not sure what you got going on but giving up now isn't going to help you.” He stepped closer once more. Still holding his hand out. “ And I'm here to help. So take my hand and focus on my chakra. Focus on the lightning, pretend I'm not even here if you have to. Just stop worrying about it and go for it. I could care less about getting hurt, I get hurt all the time. So forget about me and focus on yourself and your chakra.”
He stepped closer and placed his hand on hers. “If you give up now, who knows how many times you'll give up later. “ He was ready for round two! Adrenaline rush, don't judge him.

Ichiro reached out his hand. And Mia watched, emotionlessly, as he did.
And he spoke, encouraging her to not give up and try again. To focus on controlling the new element.
And that he believed in her. And It gave her the boost she needed because it was exactly what she needed to hear.
And She reached out and touched her fingertips briefly to his hand before firmly clasping it before closing her eyes.
The lightning in his palm was- radiant. It was calm, controlled, and ready to assist, unlike her own new found abilities with the element. Mia focused on the new element, swirling just out of her mental grasp like a sulking child, trying to avoid her after she scolded it. But this was her mind. It was her Body. It was her chakra. And this bratty element? It was hers too.
So, mentally, she reached out and roughly grabbed it by the throat as it squirmed and tried to pull away from her but she held on. And she filled her mind with the lullabies her Grandmother had sang and hummed, to soothe this wild new chakra. And Mia waited, ignoring Ichiro and the soft warmth of his hand; but kept the control of his chakra in mind.
She opened her left hand, and the lightning began to form again, in the palm of her hand- letting out a few stray flickers to test their new boundaries and the bounty of her tolerance. “Calmly.” Mia voiced as she slowly exhaled a deep breath and the random, teasing flickers died down and stayed in her left palm, “I don’t think… I’m doing this right, Ichiro.” Mia said as she opened her eyes and saw the sparks and crackles of electricity in her palm, almost identical to Ichiro’s aside from the color; a purple that was crossed with an indigo color.

He silently watched having nothing more to say.
Ichiro’s words of encouragement worked. He watched as Mia grabbed onto his hand once more and began to try again. He felt weird about this all, aside from aiding some random stranger he felt all fuzzy inside. He was doing a good thing, not for himself or actually wanting any reward. He already had what he needed, which was the cactus. To help someone like this felt...weird to him after a long life of helping people only for rewards...fame...something.
His mind drifted away a bit while Mia continued to get a hold of the lightning. His parents. It was he never knew them. He wondered if they had help others like this. He chuckled a bit as he thought more.
His attention snapped back to Mia when he heard her voice and worry of not doing it right. He examined the color of her lightning and it's general behavior. From his point of view she was doing fine, there seemed to be nothing wrong. He wasn't sure how her training was back at home maybe it was strict maybe not. “Huh? You’re doing great. I mean that. Look I'm not even getting shocked anymore like earlier!” hopefully he didn't speak to early.
Ichiro haven't received a single wound at all which was great. This training was going smoothly as well which was also great yet he couldn't get why she was worrying so much. He was growing more and more curious about her he wanted to know what exactly was she was looking for and why she seemed to distance herself or well it had to be something that was bothering her that caused the lightning to lash out earlier. “Just Focus, Mia.” is all he needed to say to her.
He continued to flow small amounts of his lightning to his hand for her as he waited. She already was good at this, there was nothing more he could really do at this point but keep encouraging her. So he waited for her to mentally accept that she was able to do this, that she can do it. He still had questions on his mind and he let the curiosity get the better of him. So he just had to ask.
“Hey Mia, We just met but...I can tell you’re in pain. There's something bothering you and stopping you and makes you worry. So I just want to know if you can tell me what's wrong?” Whatever it was he was here to try and help of course she didn't need to answer and could completely ignore him. If she didn't want to open up here then she would do it later and with someone else he supposed better later than never anyway.

Mia sated at the lightning chakra in her hand, letting Ichiro’s words and chakra seep into her body and mind as she tried to keep it together. The encouragement helped but it didn’t help what was really the problem.
“My grandmother died, Ichiro.” She said simply and sadly, “She raised me. One day she was smiling, helping me learn this- and then the next afternoon, I was burying her.” Mia didn’t want to think about it.
She couldn’t allow herself to visit the memories of the funeral workers closing the wooden lid on her grandmother’s casket, as the only person she’d ever known and loved laid within. Skin still warm peach and smelling of slightly-burned sugar and amber. Hair still in it’s long, mesmerizing waves that fell down to her elbows. Her white gloved arms crossed over her chest. Her Grandmother wearing her favorite cream sundress that made her look like a bride rather than a grandmother- one that Mia had numbly picked out.
Or how Mia tried to fight the people taking her grandmother from their quaint house, after calling to them for help. Mia refused to believe the bold, loving and fearless woman was anything but oversleeping; she violently tried to keep them from taking her grandmother. Chakra and jutsu were used, yes, but not against innocents. Never against civilians who couldn’t defend themselves. And Mia screamed as the nearby town’s doctor told her her grandmother’s true condition.
“I just had her. No one and nothing else.” Mia said quietly and as chakra in her palm continued to calm down and become more obedient, “I don’t know anything, Ichiro. I don’t know if I have a Clan, I don’t know if I have any other family- I don’t even know if I belong to a village or not. She promised to tell me everything on my birthday… but I buried her instead.”
Her taped together heart.

He wasn't expecting that bomb. Really not at all, maybe something like my dog died or something not as deep. Okay a dog dying is deep but not on the level of Mia’s problem deep.
He regret asking her, if he would have known he wouldn't have bothered at all. Ichiro’s smile quickly faded when he heard what happened. It was sad, pulling at his heart strings. For something like that to happen to anybody. Ichiro didn't realise it but his eyes became a bit red. They became teary he didn’t notice until he felt one tear roll down his cheek causing him to quickly rub his eyes.
“I'm sorry that happened to you….honestly am.” he had no words for it. He couldn't, he just didn't know how or what to say. A experience he wished he never would happen but in reality there was always that possibility. His thoughts raced back to that day when the village was under attack….his brother. They were lucky that day.
“Mia. I'm not sure what you think of me but. I'm here for you. To see in color you must bring it back...don't hold in that pain and let it all out.” was he making any sense? He wasn't sure really sure. “You must find sosomething you want to live for again. You must strive again.”
Ichiro thoughts drifted back not long ago when he and his brother had a traininh session filled with a bit of emotional family drama. “Not long ago I told my brother that….Stars only shine brightly in darkness. So this is your darkness and that means you should shine brightly and not fade away. Do whatever you must huh...maybe she even left something behind for you to find...”
There must've been a reason he searched the desert for this cactus today. If he hadn't he would have probably never met Mia.
Ichiro looked up at the now setting sun as darkness was slowly spreading across the desert. “Just know Mia, if you need any help or anything I'm here for ya alright? It may be true you don't know much about yourself or anything but you have me right now. You will probably meet many other people as well!” he said as he ruffled the girl’s hair a bit. “So don’t get all sulky on me. If you don’t have a village I could talk to my kage about it. He's a pretty chill guy and he'll let you in probably but I know you still are searching for the thing you are looking for so; I'm basically saying once you’re done looking and ready to start a new….you'll have a place here.” he pointed to his heart and the spreaded his arms out. “All of here and Maybe there!” Ichiro then pointed behind him where the village gates can be seen standing tall just over a few sand dunes.
“I know what it's like..not knowing about yourself. Heck, I didn't even know about my clan until month ago. I've been searching for answers myself….anyway. I can try and uh help you look. No promises as I can't leave the village but I'll ask around here for you and save you time. So don't worry.”

Mia listened to him as he spoke and that's when it clicked. Maybe there was something in her grandmother's house to help her. Maybe that's where she needed to go- back to the only place she ever truly called home.
She smiled as he offered her a place in his village. I'm his home. Where he lives and probably thrived like a normal person and not like some half-hearted monster like she did. And still, she appreciated the generous gesture but still she felt intruding. What type of person would she be if she intruded on what happiness Ichiro had and was able to properly collect himself? How long could she siphon off someone else's joy and their friends before they decided to tell her to leave?
Before they decided after years of living in a steady peace, that it was time to force her out and into a strange world she knew so little about?
“If I could trouble you for maybe another bottle of water, perhaps, I would really appreciate it.” Mia said with a tired smile. She had a lot of walking to do still and She had taken up a lot of Ichiro's time, no matter how generous he had been with it. “I think you're right, Ichiro. Maybe there is something back in my grandmother's home that could help me. I don't know until I get and I will try there before anything else… but it is perhaps a 3 day journey of I do not stop for rest.”
Mia would leave out the part that she had barely slept since her grandmother passed. And the part where she had already been walking for 4 days with little rest anyways.

“Hmm” So there really wasn't much left was for him to do then was there. Ichiro nodded and went towards his bag taking out another water bottle. He grabbed his stuff and hers. Walking back to Mia he handed her the water bottle and her stuff.
It seemed she wasn't going to take him up on his offer. She must had her reasons for not taking it, he wasn't going to pester her about it afterall it was her choice.
Well one thing was for certain she was leaving. Leaving where he wasn't sure but hearing on how long it will take her to travel made him frown a bit. He was sure she had travel for a long time with that caravan and after a training session like this she should be tired cause he was. Not forgetting it was also getting late. “Huh, well then before you go you should get some rest. You look tired Mia. There's a few places outside of the Village I know about who you could stay with for the night if you wanted.”
He had to think, there was that one sand dweller camp where some travelling merchants stayed then there was the caves all kinda seemed like bad places. “Uh...there's this old tea house not far from here. I could escort you there. I'm sure they would let you stay the night.”
Ichiro thought about something for a second and removed the tanto from his person. He then held it out for Mia. “Take this. I got a feeling you might need it just….something to remember by I guess.” He would wait for her to take the tanto from his hand as he didn't really need it himself. “Well wherever you go. Don't forget to write me!”

Mia thought about it longer as Ichiro went to get his things. He had been generous with her offer and it was rude of her to turn him down but; she had things to do first. Maybe not, with fresh eyes, Mia could go and find things that she had simply overlooked before. As UIchiro came back he handed her her things and the water bottle. She put the water bottle, once more, in the pocket on her bel, and leaned forward to wrap her hair in the turban, then put on the cloak.
And she accepted it as she looked at him, “I will think about it… coming to this village, Ichiro, but I want to find what I’m looking for first. Then maybe, I can finally find peace and settle down somewhere to live a ‘quiet life’; but I do not know tomorrow.” Mia explained to him to assure him that she appreciated the warm offer of hospitality. It wasn’t everyday someone you just met invited you into their village and their life; Mia must be lucky.
“If you could take me to that Teahouse, I would really appreciate it. Maybe I could rest a while.” She requested with a covered smile and decided that today, she would start a new journey.
Then he offered her the tanto. Not just ‘a tanto’, his tanto. As a sentimental trinket.

Call it what you would, but she decided that she needed to live long enough to find the answers she sought.
And seek out how to be a ‘compassionate woman’.

Ichiro felt fine with her taking the tanto, at least he knew she would be a bit safer on her travels.
He lead her across the desert and towards the teashop he knew of and stopped once the reached the door. Knocking on it he would head in to talk to the lovely couple that owned it and discussed Mia’s situation and offered them a bit of ryo for their troubles. Returning to Mia he smiled as he walked past her and turned around to face her. “So I guess this is goodbye for now then. I wish you best of luck Mia.”
Ichiro’s skin took on the grey color as he removed his shirt and tied it around his waste. Moments later two large webbed hand like wings sprouted from his back. “No goodbye hug?!” He said jokingly however if she did wanted to hug there was enough time for it to take place before he sprouted his wings and fly off. “SERIOUSLY DON'T FORGET TO WRITE”
Thus ends his day. A fun day that ended on a good note

Mia smiled and enjoyed the conversation as she travelled along with Ichiro, hoping that he'd lead the way to the Teahouse he voiced- and she did. And she stood there and listened as Ichiro talked to them about her situation and the couple running the place accepted to help Mia after Ichiro payed them. As he change,d she smiled and hugged him lightly before he took off- leaving her to the couple at the teahouse.
"Why don't you come inside?" The man asked as Mia watched Ichiro fly off, nodding and moving into the froont entry way of the teahouse, "You take your shoes off here, traveller." The Man instructed as he pointed ot the cobblestones area enclosed by the high and polished wood floors, then pointed to the shoe cabinet next to it, "And put them in there." Mia did as he instructed wordlessly, "We can take your cloak." Mia nodded and removed her cloak and turban, looking up to see their surprised looked as silvery tresses fell down.
"Wow!" The Wife murmured and smiled warmly at Mia- something Mia was going to mimic and copy- "You're so beautiful. Are you going to be sticking around a while?" Mia nodded a bit, "If you'd be willing to, we wouldn't mind giving you a rooom if you were to help around the Teahouse. We're short on hands here."
"Oh- That would be great." Mia said as she didn't really have the money for room or food. "I'd really appreciate that." The wife came over and inspected her, "I'm Mia."
"I'm Kira and this is Jouri." The Wife explained and looked Mia over as the female awkwardly stood there and tried to cover up, "Mia-chan is so pretty- would you mind working the front desk, maybe, and great customers?" Mia nodded as Kira walked off, "We'll find you some stuff to wear-" And babbled on as her husband smiled pleasantly and followed next to her, Mia following them both.

Even if it was just for a little while- she didn't mind lingering here.
