First Day [Private, NK, training]

Miyamoto's first real day out and about revealed a lot to him.  This village was his home now, and not everybody is out to get you.  Also that there are plenty of places one can hone their skill if they look just right.  So it came as no surprise as Miyamoto was ready for his first day at the academy.  He dressed in his cleanest clothes...which were not all that clean, but it was what he had to work with;  A simple tunic that was just too big for him, and simple pants that his mother had made for him.  He tied his hair in a small ponytail and made sure he looked good, gave his mother a kiss and then raced off to learn the ways of ninja.

Upon his arrival he remembered the two Gennin he met the other day; Shiro, and Lucien, he knew that he had a bar now, and that he was going to have to pass it, it was his path in life.  He walked in and was soon moved to his class as he walked in the teacher motioned for him to come to the front so that he could be introduced.  Miyamoto looked at his classmates and bowed in respect as they looked at him judging him because he looked different and dirty.  It did not stop Miyamoto as he took a seat in the front row and listened attentively to the lecture until the teacher announced it was time to train in martial arts.  Soon they were all lead outside to a small yard for training as everyone paired up, leaving Miyamoto alone.  He could hear them whispering, but could not make out what the students said...he assumed it was about him still, but rather than act on it...he stood there alone and waited for instruction.

It did not  take long until the instructor approached Miyamoto and began.

"Well today we are here to practice our basics, and since no one wants to help out our new friend here, I will be using him to show you all moves today..."

He began, Miyamoto swallowed hard as he began to think that this was not such a good idea.

"...First we will begin with basic strikes; Left strike, Right Strike, Right Leg low, then high, then Left leg low, then high.  End with with 20 push-ups, and 20 sit-ups.  Then repeat until each of you have each performed five reps each.  Ready...Begin!"

Miyamoto recalled watching the students the previous day and he did as he was told.  Striking out right, then left...hand, then foot.  The cardio arobics also kept Miyamoto moving, other kids seemed to be focused, and some slacking.  Every now and then the instructor would have to stop with me to go around and watch the other children.  Miyamoto would use this time to strike at the stationary practice dummy using half of his strength. as he would continue his repititions at a speed of 5 so that he was keeping up with the class, but he never stopped while others would finish then begin to lolligag around and wait for the instructor to give more instructions.

The Instructor soon raised his hand as he lead us over to a new area.  This area seemed more like a simple thrown weapons range, and from the looks of it...It was just set up for the class.  The instructor moved in front of the class as everyone seemed to make a small circle around him.  The instructor then brought out a small pouch that held enough kunai for each child to use as he distributed the weapons out evenly he began to explain.

"Ok for today's last lesson we will begin to train in the art of thrown weapons.  Since all of you are new to this, we will be practicing in this range where we are less likely to just hurl these kunai out into an open field where other ninja will step on..."

He began as he turned around and began to demonstrate how to throw the kunai.  First underhand, then overhand using both arms to show that he was able to use either hand as a weapon.

"Every ninja must be able to use thrown weapons, as they comprise a majority of what one can do.  Distraction, main hand fighting, and secondary weapons.  Being able to master the use of thrown weapons could save your life. This is where you will take your first steps."

The instructor then began to call us up one by one as each child was given the instruction to throw the kunai with each hand five times.  Some of the children were able to hit their targets with their dominate hand, while others were able to miss with both to a varrying degree.  Soon came Miyamoto's turn as he stepped up.  

Miyamoto had confidence behind him, as he had to learn early on while a refugee that hunting was your only way to eat.  His mother taught him to throw early on, and it was time for him to show off a bit.  

Miyamoto took a couple of steps back as he took the kunai and tossed it between his hands at a simple speed of 2, managing to never drop it so he started with his weaker side, his left as he held the kunai in a throwing position he took a few breaths before letting loose his throw as he threw the kunai at a speed of 30, managing to hit his mark in the actual target range.  He continued to throw with his left at the same speed and every time he retrieved the kunai without fail.  When it came time for his dominant hand he was warmed up as his first throw was at a whopping 45 speed, managing to strike his desired target with acute accuracy.  He was within the bullseye range, but just a few centimeters off, as he managed to throw with the same ferocity each time until the instructor asked for the kunai back from Miyamoto.

Miyamoto handed the kunai back and bowed before his instructor before retreating towards the back so he could watch the others.  It took almost another hour, but everyone got the chance to throw and was rewarded at the end of the lesson with a small lunch break.  Miyamoto stayed at the academy and continued to train in his downtime.  He used a practice dummy as he struck out using his martial arts, keeping a speed and strength of 4 to make sure he did not over work himself.  He managed to continue until the instructor showed up to inform Miyamoto that it was time to go back to class for more instruction.

Miyamoto followed his instructor to the classroom where he sat down and attentively listened for the remainder of the day.
