Yurin trouble [NK][Yuri][Private]

Ren was sitting in his room reading through the Jutsu Encyclopedia. The rather large tome had become his quintessential reference book on techniques and medical knowledge, although the slowly expanding mess of books around him did indicate that he was slowly accumulating a wealth of knowledge to rival the librarys of many of the great villages. It was as he was reading, and Re reading a paragraph on the Body flicker technique that Ren thought back to his Chunin exam, Yuri the strange young girl that he had fought with during the exam's had done something quite unusual, it was only for a short moment that he had noticed, but he distinctly remembered her moving in a way that defied logic... Pondering over it for a moment he decided to seek her out and ask her about it in person, perhaps her knowledge could shed some light on his own problems.

Heading out into the village proper Ren closed his eyes and began searching for her Chakra signature, It wasn't Impossible to find, but the girls chakra signature was a lot fainter than he expected, as he began to follow the 'scent' of the young girl he found it hard to pin down exactly where she was...

Yuri had been resting at home after the exam just to make sure that she had fully recovered. Only recently she had returned to the training grounds. She had been thinking about her performance in the exam, it was a signal for her to learn more techniques. Relying on brute speed on strength nearly cost her own life to end there. Now that she think of it, she had been wondering if there is anything else she can tap from her heritage. She was able to put her own interpretation of seals into actions using a single hand. However, when the operative infused lightning into his sword without using any hand seals, she figured that she needs to make improvements to her own handseal operation by beating her current ones. Testing her first at a wooden pole, Yuri began to wonder if there is anything she could remember from her childhood besides experiences from getting sent out for missions.

Yuri had been wondering why the operative could execute techniques at such a rate. Puzzled, she had been warming herself up at the same time by doing a few forward and backwards rolls. It was when she rolled nicely to a rock right in front of her feet did she realize that her instructor once told her about the levels of mastery a jutsu could be brought to; Its entirely possible for a technique to be honed towards immediate execution, bypassing the need for handseals. However, that would take way longer time needed per technique to be trained. She stayed at her position after the roll for a while, moving deeper into her memory lane.

Yuri is soaking wet after training under the downpour continuous with the purpose of understanding technique amplification using lightning. She hasn't been very successful as she was having trouble even executing them properly, as a punishment she had to dodge a lightning attack from the instructor under these circumstances. Ugh!! Yuri did not expect the numbness to come for her so quickly. Focus! The instructor shouted at her as others who had already cleared the lesson was sitting under the shelter. She had been a slower learner amongst her batch and progressed even slower under the rain poking her entire body without much cover. She didn't take very long to fail again as she still had problems with mounding her own chakra and knocked out from exhaustion and punishment.

She woke up to find herself beside the instructor. She could see him using a medical jutsu on her, however, she was caught surprised by the way he did it; Without a single handseal. How did you do that? Is that a jutsu? The instructor was busy checking her condition but was not ignoring her question. You just need to be really good at it , gradually needing less of those and none of it ultimately. Take a rest now, i'll wake up you up for the next training session.

Yuri woke up to find herself dozing off while thinking about jutsu mastery. Wiping off the dust while standing up, Yuri was wondering if the time would come for her to be really good at a single jutsu. She decided to get to the nearest range to practice throwing her kunai.

Yuri continue aiming her kunai at the range, still as accurate as she thought it would be. Short absences did nothing to her basic combat skills. However, her next throw missed the target when she got hugged from behind. Wondering at the reason of interruption, Yuri thought that it must be Ren still in the post exam mood that she would have felt had her childhood started in safer place. Holding both his hands away to free herself from the hug and turn around. Yuri could see that he brought a sake with him, she was asking herself did Ren really come with celebration in mind. Thankfully she did not try to wrestle him upon the hug or the sake might have been wasted. However, a drunk mind is not good for training. We can do that later pointing to the sake as she told Ren. Or you are here for only that? Yuri walked over to the range pick up her kunai while awaiting his reply.

Ren chuckled as Yuri's eyes went strait to the Sake, "Well I thought a celebration was in order, but your right I did come for more than that" Ren threw his hands together into some handseals and held out his hand as Yuri began go pick up her kunai, the blade quivered in place for a second before flying across the throwing range and landing in Ren's hand, handle first. "Your a hard girl to find Yuri, I had to ask your uh... neighbor where to find you. I was hoping I might be able to ask you about one of the techniques you used during the Chunin exams actually." Ren said hoping to catch the girls interest. "When you" Ren paused for a second hesitant to bring up Yuri's close shave with death, but he knew that he would have to bring it up at some point. "When you were fighting our opponent it looked like you were going to be cut in half... but you weren't, you did something to get out of the way?" Ren left the unasked question of what exactly it was that Yuri did hanging in the air for a moment, before sliding his hands down the length of the kunai and grasping the blade in a manner that didn't result in him cutting his own hand off, proffering the kunai to Yuri he would wait to see what she said

It seems that Yuri is not the only one thinking about the exam that just happened. However, Ren's question made her think that he was deceived during the battle. Strangely enough, Yuri knew very well that she passes the exam without using any jutsu. Not that she doesn't want to prove her combat abilities, but it was just so that the operative seemed to be only slightly stronger than her in terms of brute strength at that point of time. That alone coupled with her speed caused her promotion. The partial dodge was successful only because of the constraints the exam had in place of the operative, anything less than that might mean herself getting cut into two. Now that she got reminded about it, everything she knew was from the academy except for a single jutsu. Added by the fact she didn't even get to use any of those jutsu, she was puzzled by what Ren is asking.

I didn't use any jutsu during the exam. Everything just happened within my own physical power. You might be seeing things. Looking puzzled at Ren and had all her kunai gathered from the range.

Ren blinked at her, the Kunai once held in his hand clattering to the ground as it slipped from his hand in shock. "Your kidding right? You were standing up to him without using any jutsu? I just assumed you were using something subtle to keep up with him, Yuri thats incredible, your on par with an Anbu captain, at least in your physical prowess!" Ren blinked again as he recognized a look on the girls face. "Wait, Yuri you do know some jutsu don't you?" he would say quietly, careful not to set off her temper

Yuri was right after all. Ren was making up things in his head, maybe with the water around the battlefield made it hard not to assume so. Especially it was just a few days after the exam and the opponent looked to be strong. Yuri looked at him dropping his weapon in shock, wondering if its even surprising to begin with at all. On a second thought, it may be normal to think in a such a way for Yuri herself. Those around her were already in where their abilities would have taken them to, yet she did not progress as though time had stopped for her. Then, he asked if she even knows any jutsu. Given that she only know him during the exam, it is not odd to be asking that and not to be thought as a negative question. Yeah. I could do better with more. Was all she would give that as an answer since she does not have an arsenal of it, maybe Ren could help her in adding them to her use.
