Rome left his uncle's house dressed in his same black track pants and tight shirt, more than ready to leave the stench of alcohol behind for the hot sun and his training. He had every desire to work, as he always did, and started on his first step out. His headband he left at home, seeing no need for it. Rome started by jogging around his uncles house lightly, just stretching his muscles. After a few laps around the small building he started off toward the center of town. The main focus of this session had to be endurance, and possibly his actual chakra. Later, after a break, he could train a jutsu. Rome had no idea which, not quite yet. As he jogged through town, he noticed a few different opportunities to cause chaos. A small group of construction workers were talking amongst themselves, probably taking a break from some job and eating lunch. Rome dipped into an ally about fifteen meters away from them away from them, and used Transformation jutsu to adopt the form of a younger child. Now he was closer to eight, with black hair, brown eyes, and the skin tone of one who had been raised in the village their whole life. A full, mischievous grin spread across his face as he bolted out of the ally toward them, taking a jump between them and smacking their food to the ground. Training was far more entertaining, he thought, when there was mischief to be had. There was yelling behind him, and it just made him laugh madly as he kept sprinting off. Rome turned and bolted into another ally, midway through dropping the jutsu and jogging out the other side, inconspicuous. Sure, it was kind of fun to cause a bit of mischief, but that wasn't nearly as fun as the less tasteful acts. Shimura jogged off toward the training grounds, more looking towards training some jutsu rather than just jogging. He'd already been out for an hour at this point, and it'd be good to take a small break from it. As he approached the training grounds, he flared up his chakra but kept it inside. The jutsu he intended to work on was Flame Stream, a simple one but practical for menial things. Fire was a very useful tool, though he also wanted to learn wind to complement it. As of yet, Rome wasn't aware of his genetic mutation that kept him pinned to fire. The chakra flowed into his lungs, spinning and spiraling slowly at first. As it accelerated, he brought his hand up and almost formed the half Tiger seal, but stopped and released the chakra harmlessly. The jogging, mixed with his brief transformation and sprint, left him in a state where he'd rather take a small break before trying anything he wasn't sure of. Rome sat in place and lowered his head, relaxing in the hot sun with his ears tuned to his surroundings.

When Hiro arrived at the training grounds, he was unsure of what Jutsu he would be training, but now he was sure. He had learned all the E-Rank Fuinjutsu he could except one: a Lock Seal, used to, well, lock things. He arrived ready to go, already pumped from some parkour he had done on the way here, and pulled out his single blank scroll, the same one he had used for sealing previously, and placed it on the ground. He then focused on keeping it from opening, while pushing his chakra onto the seam where it would roll open. A small mark appeared on it, and when Hiro attempted to open the scroll, it opened easily, with no resistance whatsoever. With that failure in mind, Hiro decided to put more chakra into the seal, to make it stronger. This caused the mark to be bigger, and the seal this time had about the resistance of a sticky note.  Hiro was beginning to get deja vu from his mark seal training.  He then tried the same amount of chakra in a slightly smaller area, making a stronger, smaller seal.  The resistance had went up, but not enough to be considered proper progress.  He continued making these focused seals until he got one with about the resistance of tape, then decided it was time for a break. He leaned back and saw a strange looking kid that he had never seen before, taking a deep, like you would for a wind bullet, then stopping, releasing a basic breath,, then sitting down and facing the ground. Hiro decided he would investigate, since he was on break anyway. Walking up behind the kid, he would simply say, " Hey, watcha doing? "

"Resting," Rome said simply. It almost started as a growl, but he reined in his normal tone before it seemed hostile. 'Kid could be useful, after all,' he thought as he rose from his seated position. "Name's Rome. Yours?" Normally, he'd extend a hand to shake and put on a smile to seem more pleasant. But this didn't seem quite like that kind of person, glasses and gloves. He put out a different vibe, dressed in a jacket in the sun. People wore a few peculiar things, but they could be practical. About Rome's height, but he'd never met this person. Good. Instead of friendliness, Rome kept his eyes slightly narrowed and a small smirk. "What are you doing?"

" My name would be Hiro Raijin, and I'm also training " Hiro would simply reply, " And now, I'm training next to you! " With this, he sat down next to the kid and started practicing his lock seal again, using his scroll.  He was slowly improving, although he would rather he quickly improved.  As he sat, focusing his chakra into a small point over, and over, and over, he came up with an idea. He looked at the person next to him, trying to gauge his strength. He was definitely stronger than Hiro, but he didn't seem like he would be able to break a seal. " How would you like to help me train? " He need someone to test the strength of the seal, and this kid, Rome, would be the perfect person. Speaking of perfect, at that moment, he got the seal to fully work. " How would you like to help me train and prove your strength at the same time? Open this scroll. " As he said this, he would hand Rome his scroll, with the lock on it. This should work, unless the kid was actually strong enough to break it, in which case he would be a good ally, maybe friend.  After that, he waited for Rome to break open the scroll, or fail to.

The louder and more enthusiastic comment Hiro led with led Rome to grimace slightly. The noise was an indication that the new person might not be the most suited to work around. Still, perseverance could lead to an ally. Rome started breathing in a more careful and focused manner, once more practicing for his jutsu, but only through his nose. It led to his speech only coming out on the exhaling breath. "I observed the first one.... And sure, why not." Rome funneled chakra into his lungs again, slowly, and grabbed the scroll. The idea of a locking seal was not exactly over his head, but he did not care to try any more than a quick but strong pull. Noticing it's resistance, he tossed it back. "Good job. I would rather practice... Something practical in a different sense." The speech only threw off his breathing slightly, but lengthened the process. Rome would usually practice such a jutsu in a more quick fashion, and probably burn himself in the process, but now he had some one else to talk to and interact with. "Rank?" The question was meant to be simple because the one demonstration of power he'd gotten from Hiro was undefined, just that the lock was stronger than Rome. If he turned out to be powerful, then it would be little to no challenge to deal with his annoying habits. Those that would present themselves further on, presumably. Though, even as a weak ally he had some resourcefulness, demonstrated by the choice of jutsu. Controlling one's chakra when thinking about something this complex was more difficult, so Rome pushed back the thoughts of complicated nature and focused instead on the simplicity of fire, chakra, and breathing.

" I'm only an academy student, but I know more Jutsu than most, and have genin level chakra. I also have multiple trainers, and am about to pass my genin exam. " Hiro said this quickly and quietly, putting his scroll away while simultaneously thinking about what Jutsu he would learn next, as there was still plenty of time in the day. While he thought, he continued questioning Rome. " What's your rank and element? " .

Although it was heard, the question was briefly ignored as Rome lost his careful thought. "Genin, and to my knowledge fire. Your element?" A hint of annoyance had crept into his voice, not nearly as much as he actually felt. The question would've been answered had his new acquaintance held it at bay a moment longer. Rome formed the hand seal and expelled the chakra, and a faint rush of smoke was expelled instead if fire. "Are you specializing in fuinjutsu? I'm sticking with ninjutsu." As his thoughts turned back toward the jutsu, Rome realized that it might also work with a quick in and out breath, as long as the breaths were deep enough. Fire normally wasn't looked at as an element requiring slow, careful thought but rather quick and strong movement. Chakra as a whole was different though. He would have to learn about how the chakra fit and flowed through his lungs, but the careful breathing had taught him that. Transformation of the chakra into fire, as he'd just experienced, was more of his issue. With the jutsu he'd learned into the Academy, there was no particular element for the chakra to become, not as much of this difficulty. But fire was meant to be easy for him, he thought. He'd always liked it, and it remained one of his favorite tools. As he made the seal once more, Rome turned his head skyward and spewed a proper gout of fire, his Fire Stream working. It was the largest jutsu Rome had ever performed, in a quantitative sense. And it seemed like it could be the start of something great. He turned to Hiro, now waiting for the response to his questions.

" I still plan to specialize in Ninjutsu, there just isn't much good Ninjutsu you have access to at my level, so I'm learning everything I have access to, as that makes me stronger than others at my rank. " As he said this, he calmly and slowly reached out his hand to start training his next Jutsu, Wind Arrow.  He focused his chakra into a line next to his hand, just under his wrist, changing it into pressurised air. He then reached for it, but as soon as his hand made contact, it dissipated.  He wasn't used to using his chakra to make something tangible, just to give the appearance of something, or make a mark on something, but never actually creating something. This made it much more difficult to learn Wind Arrow, but he was sure he would finish before leaving this training ground.  He friend again, making the chakra form, pressurizing the air, and reaching for it. Again, it dissipated, but this time he was able to get his hand around it, but as soon as he gripped it, it was gone.  He stared to do it again, this time focusing on it with both hands, forming it between them, then grabbing it with his right hand, pulling back to throw it, and stopping as it dissipated in his hand again.  He then did it again, focusing for a little longer, making it last just long enough to throw it, aiming for a tree about 10 meters away, with it dissipating at three meters away from him.  He kept trying, over and over again, until he successfully made one, but now he had to continue training until he made 5.  He would then look at the genin training next to him, "What are you training now? I'm trying to learn Wind Arrow, but its more difficult than expected." He was actually interested in what the other boy was training, as he hoped they could be allies. After Rome answered that question, he would continue by asking, " Also, are you part of a clan?" If he was a meijin, then there was a chance he would have only one element, like Hiro did.

"Shimura. Not a ninja clan." That jutsu, what with the wind arrow, interested Rome. Throw a couple of those into a fire, you could get a pretty nice explosion out of it. Not massive, but still. He tried to make one under his hand, quickly controlling his chakra into the shape of an arrow and spinning it into wind. It failed miserably. "Why, you from any special clan?" That'd be a valuable asset. Rome chose to try the Wind Arrow out again, to no avail. His chakra usually expanded to fit the shape it could, wildly. It didn't conform well into an arrow shape. Then, even when he tried that, it wouldn't make the transformation to wind. Obviously, he'd just have to try later.

As Rome had spoke, Hiro had continued training his wind arrow, getting up to 3 successful arrows, and one failed one. He continued training, speaking as he did so. " I'm part of the meijin clan. Each one of us has a chance to born unable to learn any element but their natural one, although some of us have gotten good enough to use another advanced form of the element. " He had gotten his fourth arrow right by the end of that sentence. " We can also learn an element to a level others can't, because of it being our only one." Be had started focusing on getting his fifth arrow, and had yet to be successful, but was almost there.  He started forming it, slowly, focusing on making it successful rather than fast. It slowly formed, between his hands, next to the others.  When it was finished, he threw all five at the tree, each one sticking in before dissipating, leaving five perfectly equal holes.
