Advance classes with Ren and Co.

Ren rushed through the halls of the academy busily rushing towards the classroom. 'Damnit I'm late' Ren thought to himself as he passed a pair of academy students making goggly eyes at each other. "Quit that you two and get to class!" Ren scowled at them as he continued passed, 'Bloody kids, this is a place to become ninja, not some high school for people to start cheesy romances.' Ren reached the end of the hallway and turned into the class room, taking a moment to glance out and check that the pair of kids had followed his orders; fortunately for them, they had. Walking into the room Ren glanced at the clock for a moment, 'phew 2 minutes early' he thought to himself before glancing around, 'huh, no one's here yet' Ren thought to himself, 'Good, that gives me time to do a little bit more reading while I'm waiting.' Sitting himself down at the desk Ren would lean back in the chair and pull out his journal on fuinjutsu techniques and begin reading up on it while he waited for his students to arrive.

As normal Shi came to the class around 5 mins later yawning, He just had a great cat nap and stretched as he walked and took a sit like her own the place. 'i'm going to sit in and see how the new students are, maybe someday they will be worth killing.' he laughed as looked around to see if anyone else was there. He then bought out a bag of cookies and start to eat this afternoon snack. After getting a disappointing view from the teacher, he offered Ren a cookie by throwing onto his desk. He then asked 'hey teach, is anyone else showing up or can i just leave and take anther cat nap? i don't know about you but i rather not waste a good day in the sun inside reading about boring chakra but that's just me.' He then put his feet up on the desk in front of him and relaxed abit more.

Getting ready always took longer than expected. It was a certain uncertainty that had to be accounted for. That planning of extra time was the only thing that spared Hyuuga Tsubaki this morning, for it seemed that nothing had gone right. Delays in preparing for the day impacted who could take her to the academy, which in turn resulted in another delay as she was stuck waiting for a different cousin to compose themselves for the trip. All in all it was a debacle that turned a fifteen minute window into a two minute window of arrival. It would be close, but all was not yet lost. 

A Hyuuga could not be late for their first day of courses. They also would not arrive disheveled or ruffled. While her mind was buzzing with tension and worry over the time, her body moved with a practiced gait, smooth and even. The bright red fabric of her hakama pants rustled ever so quietly as her sandaled feet clicked time on the academy hallway floors. Two set of feet approached the sliding door to room 101, stopping as the door was slid back to reveal the pair.

Hyuuga Tsubaki and Hyuuga Mariko stood framed by the open door. Mariko was an honor guard of sorts, strictly unnecessary, but etiquette dictated an escort to such an occasion as one’s first day. In her flack vest and forehead protector, the older Hyuuga stood silent as Tsubaki stepped forward into the classroom. A glance to the clock informed her she had a minute to spare, time enough for small formalities.

“Sensei.”, she acknowledged Tsubasa Ren with a bow at the waist, holding long enough to show respect before turning to the children who had already seated themselves.

“Minasan”, she addressed the whole of them with barely a the slightest bow. It was enough to show acknowledgement and little else. It would have been rude to ignore them. This satisfied the rules of etiquette, which she held so dear.

The door slid shut with a clack, signaling that Hyuuga Mariko had gone. With thirty seconds or so left, Tsubaki took a seat in the first row where she belonged. Settling into her seat, she spread a scroll open on the desktop before her and placed a pen nearby to take notes. Let the lessons begin.

"This training is useful and all...but I should start getting ready to go...to class." Hinoki panted to his father " I mean, I might actually go an hour early for once and...that would certainly makes things better with...sensei." His Father gave a sharp nod of approval as he placed his hand on his son's shoulder "The Path to the Byakugan is a long one, Do not worry; You will soon unlock the power of your heritage if you do not stray." Hinoki gave him a thumbs up and started to head off to take a quick bath and maybe even manage a quick trip to the Ramen stand on his way. He was halfway to the door when his father's voice boomed behind him "Do not forget you are Hyūga, act like one.". Having heard this phrase nearly every day, Hinoki gave it his usual sarcastic retort "Not going to forget my Family, Don't worry father. I mean there are like 6 people who have it. Not gonna get confused. Thanks for the reminder anyways".

Hinoki took a bath which in the midst of it he took a quick nap too. His parents were far too accustomed for his daily routine and a few loud knocks on the bathroom door where enough to make him resume his routine. He quickly dried off, got dressed in the usual floral blue shirt, Bermuda pants and went off to the kitchen to get a quick drink and head off. Fortunately for him, his Mother was busy somewhere else and he managed to grab a cold soda and some spare Ryo from the table without the usual speech about family and how bad it is to drink cola at breakfast. He rushed to the door, where he put on his flip-flops and sat down to quickly bandage his hands. His age long ritual of bandaging his hands for good luck serves the minute purpose of protecting said hands when practicing Taijutsu but nothing else. Ready to depart, He adjusted his rose tinted glasses and headed off for the Ramen shop.

He quickly made his way there, accustomed to the route. He quickly ordered the “usual”, something that the Ramen man got accused to. Super Wasabi Ramen, with extra Wasabi. As he slid the Ryo to pay, he realized that he had forgot to brush his hair and he retie his ponytail. He shrugged it off and dug in the ramen. After finishing his breakfast with amazing efficiency, he gave his compliments to the Ramen man and began pacing lazily towards the academy. “Heh, I still an hour early after all. I can take my time.” he muttered to himself. To his dismay, even though he walked as slowly as possible; he still was nearly a half hour early as he arrived to the gates of the academy though that dismay soon turned into an opportunity which he promptly took. Setting himself down under a tree near the academy and promptly began a new nap.

A few minutes later he was woken by sharp platter of feet. With his vision was too unfocused and the pink tint, he had no idea who it was but that was enough for him to get up and make his way to class. He walked with confidence to class, knowing fully that he is 3 minutes early; A Hallmark achievement considering his amazing track record at coming late. He took the last swing from his soda and popped the empty bottle in the trash can nearby. He opened the classroom door with confidence, somewhat happy that he managed to disprove the fact that he is *always* late. He greeted his sensei happily today “Ayyye Sensei, Guess who is not late?”. His eye moved to furthermost corner of the classroom and thankfully his usual seat was not taken, so he made his way there. “This is going to be a good day.” he beamed to himself.

Ren was still busy reading his book when the first student entered the class, Ren glanced up to see a slim pale boy who possessed a look of arrogance that Ren had not seen since the lord mizukage; a man who, for all his dislike of the man, Ren had to admit had earn't it; this boy on the other hand was a snot nosed brat who clearly was not even close to being able to walk like that 'Well, well, well, Aren't you going to be a fun one to teach' Ren thought to himself, savouring the idea of teaching the boy a little about the world he had entered. It wasn't that Ren was cruel, nor was he sadistic, he just hated seeing arrogant students; For one thing an arrogant genin would be dead quite quickly, for another Ren fully expected Xyxer to execute any arrogant genin that he met. 

It was as Ren was thinking about this with a somewhat disapproving look on his face, that the kid, having just pulled out a bag of cookies, tossed one to Ren. Ren's face took a moment to mask the surprise on his face before he caught the little plate of cooked dough. "We'll your arrogant, but at least you've got some character" Ren said aloud as he took a bite of the cookie before making a face and putting it on the table.

The next person to enter was a young Hyuuga girl, If Ren remembered correctly her parents had pushed hard for him to let her into the advanced classes, and at least on paper she had shown some promise, so Ren had begrudgingly allowed the girl into the class on the condition that she would be expected to keep up with the rest of the class. Ren gave her a slight nod as she acknowledged him before analyzing the girl once she had turned away... 'She doesn't look like much, but then again neither do I, No good ninja looks like the threat they are.' Ren allowed himself a slight chuckle when the girl took out her notebook 'Heh, notes have their place but I'm not going to be teaching you anything complicated enough to warrant note taking; heh maybe I should make a point of taking that off of her and showing her something usefull' Ren thought to himself before his thoughts were interrupted by the harsh voice of his least favourite member of the class. 'Hinoki hyuga, If I was asked to name one person who should not be a ninja its him, The rest of these students are the cream of the crop, each one hand picked in one way or another, but him Ugh. What was it four failed classes, slept through most of the classes he attended. He's a trouble student no doubt there, unfortunately his parents were rather insistant he passed so Ren had taken the boy into his classes, the entitled litle brat ought to try a little bit of harsh living.' Ren thought as he looked at the boy with a scowl. 

Glancing at the clock Ren got up and began to speak. "Hinoki, take a seat; and I swear on lord xyxer himself if I see you wearing that blasted shirt and thongs again I'll throw you out of the academy regardless of what your parents say." Once the boy had walked past Ren he began to speak again "Right, its class time, the rest of the students will have to catch up when they get here, First of all Introductions. I as most of you know am Ren, Im the dean, and I'm the one who ultimately decides whether you pass or not; of course thats not going to be a problem for most of this class" Ren said.

Once the students had all shared their names Ren would begin teaching in earnest. "Now then, lets start with a technique that your all going to have to know to graduate, the clone technique." Ren paused as if he was about to begin giving a classical lecture on the history and uses of the technique, before suddenly calling out Tsubaki's name instead. "Tsubaki Hyuga! what are the handseals for the clone technique?"

Azure woke up later than normal as he spent all night wondering why Ren gave him a note "Dad why didn't you wake me up! Am late!" he shouted as he fell down his stairs while putting on his shirt and pants at the same time "Are you okay Azure?" Mr. Phoenix asked from the kitchen "Ya am okay but I can't eat breakfast now am really late for class." 
"Azure try not to over work yourself, dear." 
"Yes grandma I know,"
he told her as he rushed out the door holding all his books (I need to hurry before I miss the class altogether.) he tells himself as he waits for a turtle to pass him "Oh come on little guy move just a bit faster." he tells it just before picking it up and putting it on his head "Okay little guy just stay there for a bit." he smiled and made his way to the class to see there was several students there already not including Ren. 

"Am sorry am late Ms. I didn't mean to show up late I spent most of the night reviewing my notes from yesterday and...and I'll stop talking." Azure says as his face turns red and the Turtle on his head starts biting his hair (Oh man I can already tell everyone is going to make fun of me..) he thought. he took a seat in the back corner and hid his face from everyone with the Turtle just mumbling his hair like it was food "(Am never going to live this down I can tell.)" he told himself aloud as he knew that someone would come up to him and pick on him like they always do.

Shi listened to what Ren said and stood up from is desk and said 'hello, i;m Shi no okurinushi. I'm here on request of Ren, seeing as i;m not an Academy Student any more i;m a genin. i was told that it would be good to train here but so far the only seems some people here are too worried about appearance and social statues then the goal here. doesn't matter what clan your from if your dead.' He looked the 2 Hyuga members. he then resumed and said 'death makes everyone equal, a dead body is a dead body no matter how you look at it. I;v heard of too many cowards, who would rather give up there pride then give up there life but for someone like me. there is no  pride to give nor life.' He then used his dagger to stab himself in the heart and said ' death has no hold on me, so i have nothing to fear' he then sat down with the dagger still in his chest.

What do you say to a fool who thinks that death is the only thing to be afraid of in this life? Nothing, for if he did not understand by now, it was likely he never would. Tsubaki might have even pitied him with an answer, had it not been for his behavior, unbecoming of a genin as it was. Surely, fools who cannot make it through an introduction without placing pointed objects in body should not be trusted with even the menial tasks that a genin would be expected to perform. Perhaps that was why Ren-Sensei had invited him back to the academy, so that he might be reeducated.

Even as the blood bubbled and frothed around the double edged dagger he had thrust into his chest, Tsubaki turned her eyes forward and shunned him in the way of polite society. She ignored his existence. It was as if he hadn’t spoken and did not exist. This was the fate of fools. Once the commotion over his self inflicted injuries ceased, she slid back her seat and stood. In silence she stepped into the area between the instructor's desk and the seating provided for the students. With a sharp turn she faced the assembled classroom.

“My name is Hyuuga Tsubaki. It is my pleasure to meet you all.” Eye contact was made with as many students as possible, excluding the crass genin with the dagger still plunged in his chest. She gave them all a deeper bow than the time before, befitting the formal nature of such an introduction. With her turn to speak complete she returned to her seat in silence, hands clasped together before her.

There she waited for the rest to give their introductions before the class, notating the name and clan of each student in fluid calligraphy below the name of her instructor. Notably absent was the name of the genin, unworthy of mention in such a list of classmates. She was just placing the final strokes of her pen when Ren began his lecture. He proceeded less than a full thirty seconds before calling on her.

“Testing me so soon, Senei?”, she thought as she considered the question placed before her. The hand seals surged into her mind nearly unbidden. Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog. Her parents had indeed recommended her for the advanced class based upon private tutoring she had received in preparation for her entry into the academy. It would not do to give the impression that the Hyuuga clan was weak or unprepared. The necessary preparations had been made so that would not be the case, though perhaps it was simply that they knew she would be forced to balance out the damage done to the clan name by the overweight slob, Hyuuga Hinoki.

Tsubaki stood upon being called, back straight and shoulders back underneath her white kimono. “Sensei, the seals are: Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog.”, she answered as she contorted her fingers into each seal. “Would you like me to demonstrate for the class?”, she asked upon completion of the final seal, satisfied that he would find her answer correct.

Hinoki was slightly bewildered by the Genin's speech was an overstatement but he did make sure to return the dirtiest glare possible. Well, the dirtiest one possible while wearing heavy tinted glasses. Could it possible that his clothes have suddenly becoming something associated with high ranking status? Impossible! He gave himself a look over and he found that, well he was still looking casually sharp. Definitely not formal, as he cross-examined himself with the person in front of him. “Heh, defiantly not formal considering what this snob is wearing.” He muttered to himself. “Rose-tinted glasses will always remain cool.” As he looked up again the Genin, He was pretty sure he was going to commit seppuku at that rate and he found himself mildly interested when he stabbed himself in the heart though he had no idea what he was saying. He was a bit disappointed when he sat down and did not stab himself somewhere else.

The Girl’s Introduction had much less stabbing which was something that disappointed Hinoki deeply. He grimaced as he realized that she was the living example of what Hyūga child should be. “Fuck that shit” he taught as he leaned even more back on his chair. “All this bowing gonna give her scoliosis. Well, guess that’s the price of being formal. I’m just going to stay casual and cool right here.” He smiled to himself as he popped a wasabi seed and crushed it under his back teeth. The eye contact took him by surprise and he was caught flat footed. Somehow he felt that there was a competitive feel to her look, yet he knew that if there were any competitions he wasn’t going to waste any energy to get involved. Well, if he isn’t in one already. This girl is going to be problems for him. Well, He avoided everyone but he will take special care to avoid her. Definitely.

Turning his attention back to Ren, He realized she was glaring at him. “Well, I’m not late for sure, I am not eating in cl-“. The realization crept came to him at the end of that thought. Shit, it’s his turn to introduce himself. He hated meeting new people. “Hello, Im Hinoki.” Ren still glared at him. “Hyūga. Hinoki Hyūga.” he said halfheartedly. A wave of relief flushed over him. “That was pretty hard, I think I might soon have to take a nap. Though Clone jutsu are Interesting. We will see I guess” As he nodded to himself, as if agreeing to his own thought.

Ren saw Azure enter the room just as he'd finished asking the class to introduce themselves 'Is that a turtle?' Ren thought to himself, so confused at the absurdity that it took him a few moments to register what the boy had said. "Damnit Azure what the hell is that on your head!" Ren paused for a moment "And I've told you not to call me that Azure, now get to a seat before i kick you out of this class!" Ren took a deep breath for a moment as he attempted to calm himself and then lent back against his desk, resting his leg against the front of it as he stood watching the class as the rest of them continued on with their introductions.  'Dam kid; next one that calls me a girl is getting thrown out of the class'  

The first of the students to introduce themselves was the arrogant child from before, not that there weren't two arrogant children in the class, but at least one of them was a prodigy. The boy started by spouting a few ironic lines about the arrogance of the other students and then proceded to pull out a sharp looking dagger from his belt. Ren's mind immediately clicked over to combat mode and he was just about to take out the young genin when the boy stabbed himself in the heart... 'Well that was unexpected, I know school is boring but its not that boring.' It was a moment later that the boy continued speaking. 'What the fuck?!?' Ren thought to himself struggling to maintain his externally calm demeanor as his mind went into overdrive. 'What is that? Space time manipulation? No that cant be it he's still bleeding. Rapid healing perhaps? no that cant be it either, perhaps some immortality technique, but from a genin? that sort of thing requires years of study and a ridiculous amount of resources to achieve. He's a genin so it cant be that?' Ren filed the information away in the back of his mind. 'Whatever he is that ability might be useful to find out more about, whatever it is' Ren had been so preoccupied Analyzing the boy's strange ability that he barely paid attention to Tsubaki's introduction and when the waste of space by the window introduced himself Ren sighed 'that boy doesn't even look like he wants to be here, let alone learn. guess I figured out who's getting used for target practice'

When Tsubaki reiterated the hand seals for the Clone tech Ren had to admit that he was impressed, it wasn't a hard thing to do, but it was more than most students could do on their first day. "Very good Tsubaki, theres no need for you to demonstrate I'll get to that in a moment; But first can anyone tell me what mistake our resident psychopath made just now" Ren would say using the event as an opportunity to examine the boy more thoroughly as well as teach the students something that would be very valuable to them in future.
