Painting the Statue's Red

Mizukage Monument Mission
Haru arrived at the Monument to the Mizukage an hour or so after dawn with a bucket of water, clothes and a broom. it was his first mission as a Genin and he was feeling confident that such an easy mission could be completed in good time without much hassle, sure it wasnt vital to the safety of the village but at least it was something. he had just started to wet the cloth when his sharp ears heard a few sets of footfalls that seemed to be getting louder and he recalled that the mission organizer said others might be joining him on the job.

Hinoki was taking a snooze the usual tree, not far off the academy gates. He was then rudely awakened by a loud rumbling noise and pain in his stomach; an all too familiar feeling. Getting up, he reached into his pocket to see how much ryo he had on him and plan his meal at the Ramen shop on his way there. Realizing he was dead broke from buying the Ninja Equipment and all-around expanses, he found himself faced with a problem. “Fuck” he thought to himself “Guess I’ll have to put this to use then” he kept thinking as he adjusted his headband. He starting making his way to the Administrative building; He never has actually gone there albeit its towering height made it obviously the Mizukage’s Offices. The front desk was empty but the Mission board on the right was self-serviceable. Not wanting to engage into too much work he, took a E-Rank mission and started heading out.
The mission was simple and a bit boring but he was in need of ryo and he was ready to sacrifice some time to get that Super Wasabi Ramen. All he had to was clean the Mizukage’s statue. He went for a detour to raid the Janitor’s closet, coming out with a buckets of water in both hands and an assortment of rags and sponges in his pocket whilst leaving an I.O.U note albeit not signed. He then slowly made his way to the statue, arriving soon after. He was mildly surprised to find Haru. Putting the buckets on the floor, he yelled out at him “The hell you doing here?!”

Shi got there shortly after Haru, he was disappointed but more the merrier to get this mission done and over and at least it was a hygua. He still got mad at that. He walked over to Haru and said " we should get started so we can get the money an leave. We're barely getting paid as is and i want to get back to my other freinds, i have group training later." He then start to move what rocks he could and start cleaning where ever he could, keeping a eye out for other people. He hated being up this early but got to make money sometime. Then the hygua showed up and of course he did, he couldn't let Shi have a nice mission. He just had to ruin his day probably to brag about being a genin or how much better he was. It was a noticeable sigh when he saw Hinoki witch he didn't hide. He just worked faster to get this mission over.

It didn't take Yuri very long to arrive at that area since the walk to monument is a familiar path to her by now. As expected, instead of a pile of statue debris, it was spread all over the area giving clearer indications of dissatisfaction of his time leading the village. Yuri couldn't understand why is this so but she had not seen him much even back in tengakure. She proceeded to the piece nearest to her, the upper half of the statue's head and started cleaning. There was an obvious difference cleaning it at this stage, the cleaning job included cleaning the dust around that the debris could not hold on to when it was torn apart as a whole. Yuri gave it a thought that this would automatically include the entire area of ground as well, the tools brought clearly weren't enough. She wasn't alone in doing this but she wasn't sure if the those cleaning are aware as well. Wondering whether to go back and get a broom, she reminded herself that she is not only one doing the assignment. Looking up at the sky for a moment, Yuri proceeded with her share of work hoping to finish the job as soon as possible.

Haru closed his eyes for a moment of much need self reflection. So much for being a good easy job. though admittedly he was rather surprised that a member of the Hyuuga would lower himself to do menial work, and he even brought buckets of water!. "Well with the three of us it shouldn't take to long to clean this old thing up." Haru started sweeping the surrounding base of loose dirt and rubble whilst subtly infusing chakra in the bristles for a moment as a test. He spotted the Chunin and was even more surprised than before. All got make money somehow i suppose. haru swept starting at the base of the crumbled statue working his way around the clearing in a spiral sweeping towards the outside and soon a good circular area around the base was clear of light rubble and dust. He noticed others were moving the bigger pieces of masonry and washing them and once he was satisfied with the clearing he retrieved the cloth he had soaked early and began helping to clean the shattered remains though for what purpose he was not entirely sure.

“I guess so. The less work, the better” Hinoki said with a sigh, moving the buckets close to the statue and decided to focus on clean the lower piece of the statue's torso. Taking out two sponges from his pocket, he dipped them in water and started scrubbing thoroughly with both sponges to clean away the stains and grime that have set on it. He knew that this statue was of the Great Mizukage Xyxer but he knew very little of who the man himself was, having been told to avoid him at all costs when he asked about him.Nevertheless, he focused on his work as his hunger wasn’t getting any better.

Shi was happy that Hinoki was ignoring him it made his life easier, last think he wanted to do was a yelling match with that Zarbnarf. Shi hated Zarbnarf and he didn't use that word lightly but thank to all of there work the job was done. He jumped back to see the clean job all done. He hoped he wouldn't have to work with rich boy Hinoki any more but had a sinking feeling. That that Zarbnarf will be a consent problem in his side, i guess if he doesn't ever talk he won't be a problem but seeing as how any times he takes his feels the need to insult him. it will make teamwork harder. Aftor being done, he claimed the mission and left to get the money.

Ren strolled down the streets of the village, chuckling to himself at the irony of the situation. Both him and Yuri had been told to clear away the remnants of Xyxers 'Grand' statue only a few days ago under lord haru's rule, then in an entirely unexpected twist Xyxer had returned and wrenched the reins of control back from Haru after but a few months of his reign; Now Ren had been issued an order to go help a bunch of Genin and a Chunin clean the renewed statue? 'Honestly how much of the village funds is he going to waste on his own arrogance?' Ren thought to himself as he entered into the square that housed the Monument of Lord Xyxer, He was surprised to find that the rest of the team had already gotten there and cleaned much of the monument, even Yuri who was typically late to these sort of low grade missions was here and working hard. 'I guess I should do some Work then, Ren thought to himself before he wandered over to one of the buckets that the kids had and dipped a rag in it before rushing around at rapid speeds using the body flicker technique to flit from place to place until the square was spotless.

Yuri could see that the other ninjas know each other. She hasn't gone looking out for the newly graduated ninja recently, coupled with these new faces, she would assume that these people are the new batch who just came out from the academy. She did not know everyone until Ren came along. However, it is not important since the objective is to clean up. She would focus on her task until it is completed.

Seeing his work was done here by the gleam of Statue Lord Xyxer's biceps, he emptied the now murky water filled buckets and started making his way back to the academy to drop the items he borrowed back in their place, only making a detour at the administrative building to file in his completion of the mission.
