Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Extra Training before a C Rank

Fri Nov 18, 2016 3:43 pm
After his quick run home, Senshi arrived in the training grounds intent on getting some decent training in before his mission tomorrow. He looked over to the lake smiling to himself as he approached it. This was his final test with the Water Sealing scroll he had created, and though he knew after he tried this the scroll would be destroyed he needed to make sure that he was doing it right. Kneeling down he unfurled the small scroll into the water before creating the two hand seals quickly and touching his palm to the scroll. He was pleasantly surprised to see the water being sucked in so quickly. He felt the minor drain on his chakra but choose to ignore that in order to truly observe the technique at work. It certainly absorbed a lot more chakra and water than he had originally thought it would. Once the scroll was full of water Senshi pulled it back up looking over the suspiciously dry paper. Well, it was now or never to see if he had created the basic seal right. He tossed the scroll up slightly in the air, reversed the hand signs he had used early and as he felt chakra charge into his hands he caught the scroll.

And immediately regretted it. He would need to learn to had in some kind of delay for the release mechanism next time or at least be cognizant enough to face the scrolls opening away from himself so all the water it contained would flow away from him and not gush straight into his face. Senshi spluttered at the feeling of the cold water dousing him, knowing that now he was going to have to wait a little bit before practicing any of his lightning techniques. He certainly didn’t want to start out by electrocuting himself to death. Shaking his head, Senshi was again surprised at how much water the scroll held. He waited until it had emptied itself, having turned the scroll around to stop soaking himself and was pleased by how well it had worked. He had learned a very valuable lesson in not pointing the damn seal at himself, one that was better learned here at the training grounds, than later in a combat environment. It was too bad he wouldn’t be able to get together enough supplies by the days end to create more of the scrolls for his mission tomorrow.

He hopes after that mission thought, that he would possess enough funds to make combat capable versions of these scrolls and even some sealing scrolls so that he could store all of his long term equipment in them, and thus lighten his load on long range missions. Maybe not so important now, since he was still a fairly new Genin, but eventually he knew it was something he would need to get on to. Shaking these thoughts from his head Senshi put the now ruined scroll in his pocket before conducting some warm up exercises. A basic set of pushups, pull ups, planks, sit ups, V ups, leg raises, and a few rounds of jogging around the training grounds until he felt that his muscles had loosened up a bit in the chill air. When he had run home he had changed from his worn, stained, and dirty old training gear into the new, sleek black pants and teal, orange, and black vest he had recently acquired. His headband now moved from his forehead to cover his heart, since the dastardly mission with the Art thief. He really should speak to Itami-Taicho about that soon, surely a Jounin would have some insight to offer.

Shaking these thoughts from his head he approached the wooden training posts on the grounds. He had found a technique, unfortunately a Taijutsu technique that would build upon some of his more basic skills. He had learned the thousand years of death technique, mainly as a way to build his strength and progress a bit. Now though he was pleased he had. The Iron Claw taijutsu technique held many similar qualities, and while not particularly powerful would add one more thing to his repertoire of skills to make him more dangerous. He hoped when his Sword was completed that he would no longer be forced into these close range hand to hand duels. They really weren’t his thing and he would need to get very good with this sword of his in order to prevent enemies from closing to hand to hand range, but he would by god learn to do it. Then he could stop putting such a heavy focus on learning these taijutsu techniques and really focus on all of the weapons techniques he had been extensively researching.

Now that he was at the wooden post he shoved his thoughts aside. The Iron claw technique pretty much was a quick grab with the hand, primarily over the opponents face though logically it could be used on any body part. Once the user had grabbed their opponent with the tips of their fingers they focused a bit of chakra and effectively just shook their hand back and forth to disorient the victim. Not exactly a difficult technique especially if someone had spent time working on the thousand years of death technique and building up their finger strength. With this in mind Senshi took a basic stance and focused on the log, lashing his hand forwards quickly until his fingers penetrated the wood slightly and charged his chakra into it and shook his hand. He really wasn’t expecting it when he cracked the wood even further ripping out a small chunk. He hadn’t realize just how much strength he had been building with all of his training lately. He would need to be more careful around people now that he knew. He repeated the stance, only reversing it, and sent his left hand forwards to ensure he could do the basic level technique with both hands correctly. There was no point in limiting oneself after all.

After Senshi had spent several minutes practicing the Iron Claw technique with both hands he decided that he had it down well enough to use in combat. He really shouldn’t have been that surprised, what with how much training he had put into the thousand years of death technique his finger strength hadn’t needed to be built up any. Plus this was infinitely easier than even learning Leaf Gale and Leaf Whirlwind from Reizo had been. There was very little technique involved other than being sure to grab what you aimed for. Shaking his thoughts off Senshi moved to the second technique he needed to focus on. Yet another basic type of taijutsu technique, but if he could make his strength great enough then it would also double as a way to knock an opponent away from him. The Taijutsu, Aerial Strip technique. Rather odd in description, especially if he could get strong enough to cause someone to fly away from him. It was effectively a super powered punch. Much like with the Iron Claw technique, he wouldn’t need to build anything up to complete this.

It didn’t require him to have much form, other than how to punch correctly, and he had already built his fists and personal strength up to a level that he merely needed to get good enough at flashing forwards quickly and lashing out with a punch. It was recommended that the user of the technique focus on aiming their punch for the enemies head as if their strength were high enough it would cause the other person to unbalance easier. Senshi wasn’t really fully certain how lashing out and punching someone hard enough could cause all of their clothing to be stripped off, but he was personally interested in achieving that against someone. An enemy who was wearing armor would then not be able to rely on the additional defenses of that armor if Senshi could hit them hard enough to send them flying, and their clothes in turn flying off. Not that he knew anyone that he was strong enough to do that to yet, but maybe sometime in the future he could achieve that. An enemy without armor was weaker. An enemy who wasn’t used to such an embarrassing technique would then be more likely to give into anger and not plan things out correctly. An enemy that Senshi could manipulate in order to defeat them easier or so he hoped. Plus an enemy without armor would be less likely to want to close with a tall, strong looking boy like him.
They’d likely come to the assumption that he was a taijutsu user, and decided to stay out of his fists range. Which was in fact all Senshi really wanted. If he could count on Reizo to close the distance and handle the close range fight, then he himself could handle either long range or medium range with Max covering the opposite of him. It was in all honestly an outstanding team make up in Senshi’s mind. Each other their specialties would make it so that no opponent could operate safely at any range. He might not know what Itami-Taicho specialized in but it didn’t matter because he would just be the overkill on a team with a very good make up. Senshi wondered who had designed them team, the person must be pretty decent at strategy to do so. If this team got to take the Churning exams together Senshi felt certain that with a good bit of decent training from their Captain that they would be able to make a good showing with the other villages.

Pushing the thoughts of his team away, feeling only a slight hope that at least one of them would show up for some basic team training before their missions tomorrow. He certainly didn’t want to go into a mission without having done at least some work with his teammates. He knew how Reizo was likely to act thanks to their half day of training but had never seen any work from Max just yet. Senshi continued to dash forwards in small bursts of speed letting loose a lightly chambers punch onto the air as he let his mind run. Once he felt he had a decent grasp on that part of the technique he began to add small bits of chakra to it. Lashing out, he could feel the power that his muscles held and it brought a large smile to his face. His sword was going to be very heavy and he would need every ounce of his strength in order to properly wield it. After several short minuets of prating the charge then punch in the air with no true target, Senshi turned to his partially destroyed wooden training block. Taking a deep breath the tall Genin centered himself before opening his eyes and narrowing them at the wooden block.

He would destroy it, no question about it. Flashing forwards at his best speed he chambered the punch and then with a small surge of chakra let loose with his right hand pleased to watch as the entire top half of the already damaged block went flying and tumbling through the air into the training grounds beyond. Senshi actually did a half jump in excitement at the proof of his personal strength matched with the power of the technique he had just used. Fear that taijutsu users, they wouldn’t be cornering him in a hand to hand fight if he could help it. Senshi stepped back before flashing forwards again this time landing the punch with his left hand and watching as the entire training block was pulled out of the ground and sent flying. Not nearly as far or as fast as the top half had gone but it was certainly gratifying to see how much his training was paying off. With a light exhale and small smile gracing the young Genin’s face he began to ponder the next training technique he needed to work on for tomorrow’s mission. He needed something that would give him an edge in a fight against stronger foes, they needed to show Itami-Taichou just how good they were so he’d take them on many more missions and maybe even teach them some of his moves.

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Sat Nov 19, 2016 8:24 pm
Senshi pulled out a kunai, it was time to train in another C Rank, especially if he was going to be going on a C Rank Mission. He needed to be sure that he could perform up to standard and while he knew a few C ranks he also knew that the technique he was planning to work on right now would increase his combat capability, especially with weapons, by at least a factor of two. It would make his weapons sharper. It would make his weapons more durable. Most importantly, it would allow him to numb a target area on an enemy if he managed to hit them with it. Lightning Release: Chakra Blade. This was what he had been training so hard for, why he had bothered to learn Chakra Infusion so early in his career. He needed to be able to charge his weapons with his chakra element. He looked at the Kunai and smiled lightly to himself.

After his rigorous training with the Chakra Infusion he knew this wouldn’t be that difficult, especially with how he had learned the two lightning Ninjutsu. He just needed to learn first to actively channel his chakra into the Kunai and maintain it for a period of time. Once he had accomplished that, he would then practice with his throwing weapons. Making sure he charged the thrown weapons with enough chakra to maintain their charge throughout their entire flight, in order to strike and enemy with their higher penetration was important. Senshi focused on the kunai pushing his chakra into it much as he had learned to do with the chakra infusion. He could feel his chakra swirling around within in the kunai, filling it to the brim. He pulled his chakra back, and for several short seconds continued to recharge the Kunai with his chakra and draw it all back into his body.

He was making sure that he remembered the process to his training, so that way when he switched to adding his lightning chakra it wouldn’t be as difficult. Once he felt that he had refreshed himself enough, he converted a small bit of the chakra he was flushing into the blade into lightning chakra and then forced it all through. He was surprised to feel that the Lightning chakra was initially resistant to entering the blade. He focused for several seconds on pulling his chakra back and converting only a small amount into lightning chakra and pushing it in. Once he felt that it had become significantly easier he converted more lightning chakra. He knew it would take at least a minute to adjust this time to the increase. He could feel how the chakra was resisting going into the blade, but he also knew with all of his prior training that I would still be easy. Controlling his chakra was becoming infinitely easier the more often that he did it.

Closing his eyes he pulled his chakra back before forcing it forwards again, repeating the motions until a full quarter of his chakra was converted into lightning chakra and swirling through the kunai blade. It still wasn’t the correct amount, he couldn’t see the electrical charges that should be dancing along the blade. The book he had managed to get a hold of that explained this technique, had explained that once the user managed to correctly perform it there would be lightning dancing along the blade. He still hadn’t managed to most base form of it, which would be small static electrical charges. From there he would know he was completely on the right track. Then again it had only been three minutes since he had begun training this. Senshi opened his eyes and converted more lightning chakra, before swirling it into the blade. The more he did this, the simpler it became even though he was using a lot more lightning chakra than before and it was different, to say the least.

While his normal chakra was well used to entering his weapons, or even his body, Senshi had not spent enough time converting his chakra to lightning chakra and then pushing it throughout his body. This training would probably make his two ninjutsu he had just learned more effective in combat, since he was becoming more and more used to converting the chakra and doing it faster to boot. Senshi smiled as he finally managed to get half his chakra converted to lightning chakra, and force the kunai to accept it. There were now small static charges dancing along the blade, almost appearing to come out of the blade and then jump down it before disappearing into it. Finally. After six and a half minutes he had achieved the most basic form of this technique. While it wouldn’t add much to the sharpness or durability yet, the blade was now charged enough to add a small increase.

Senshi focused and pulled the chakra back before repeating the process several more times to ensure he had a good enough handle on it. Once he did, he focused on increasing the amount of lightning chakra again, and again until finally every ounce of chakra he was forcing into the blade was lightning chakra. The lightning that danced along the blade would ruin any chance he had at stealth thought. Senshi could feel the light shocks into his hands causing them to numb slightly. He recalled his thoughts on training his body to become more resistant to the shocks but put that idea on hold. He would need a lot more training with Lightning techniques, and shocking himself before he would ever be ready for that. For now he spent a minute charging the blade and dropping the charge to ensure he could do it almost at will. He had been right, after only eleven minuets of working on it, he had managed to grasp the basic concept for the Kunai portion. This really shouldn’t have been a surprise considering his Chakra Infusion skill and the training he had done recently to learn some basic Ninjutsu.

Now he needed to work on maintaining the skill for a bit while his hands were still on the blade. Once he felt he had a decent enough skill with that he would move to practicing with his thrown weapons. Senshi recharged his blade before pulling out a second blade. He wouldn’t charge it yet, but whenever he used kunai to fight in close he preferred to hold one in each hand. It afforded him more versatility than if he didn’t. Focusing on his right hand Senshi charged the kunai with the lightning chakra and then took himself through a basic kata. Slashing through the air as he swung the blade charged with lightning around. He only managed four swings before his chakra petered out and he had to focus on recharging it. He continued to practice until he had managed to go a full minute with one blade charged. Once he did he focused on his left hand and charged both Kunai with lightning chakra. He immediately noticed the large drain he felt on his reserves.

C ranks didn’t really require a lot of chakra, compared to how much most people had. Senshi however was a strongly physical and weapons based fighter and as such his reserves were not quite what he should have made them. Even Max, a shinobi younger than him by almost three years had larger reserves. Not that Senshi was really complaining about it, he preferred his style of fighting. Throwing around large, destructive ninjutsu just didn’t seem to be what a shinobi should do. Senshi knew he could use his stealth and approach enemies and then use his weapons skills, and budding taijutsu skills (all thanks to Reizo there or he wouldn’t have managed those basic taijutsu techniques he had learned) to take them out.

Senshi was proud of his abilities, and it showed in the way he moved through his basic kata with the two kunai charged. It took several minutes but after only twenty minutes of practicing the lightning chakra blade he had managed to charge both of his Kunai and last three minutes working through his kata. He had worked up quite the amount of sweat in learning to work with the chakra this way, and to work through his physical skills. Not quite the best combat ability yet, but soon he would make it a staple of his style. Especially once he made Chuunin, and started training in other elemental natures. They would only enhance his combat capabilities and he would need to be able to add them in appropriately to make himself more dangerous. The young, dark haired Shinobi took a seat on the ground breathing heavily as he focused on calming his heart rate.

A short break and then he would begin to practice with his throwing weapons. Learning to throw them and have them maintain the chakra when it wasn’t attached to his body would probably be significantly difficult. He was only mildly disappointed that none of his teammates had shown up yet to train with him, but what they did on their own time was their business. Maybe they just had a few other things to deal with, or maybe he had left too quickly for any to follow. Senshi dismissed that thought rather quickly, just from training with Reizo the one time he knew he and the other boy were rather evenly matched in speed. He imagined a guy like Max, would also be at least on the same level. He had been a Genin for over a year now, and that meant he had to be pretty decent at what he did. Senshi had not become serious about his studies until after the Lord Raikage had taken over and even then I had taken a few months for him to truly focus.

He didn’t want to die after all, and really all of his training had been coming together quite nicely lately. It was hard to find scrolls or books on techniques and he found himself spending more and more time in the library looking them up, but he did find treasures like this technique occasionally. Shaking his thoughts off, Senshi pushed himself back to his feet jogging over to the line of little wooden targets. He pulled his first shuriken out and focused on charging his chakra into it. It was beyond surprisingly easy. He didn’t even need to focus to allow the small throwing star to accept his chakra. Pushing down the smile of pride he wanted to let loose he pulled his hand back and let the weapon fly. That was where he experienced his first issue. The weapon flew the entire distance without lighting up with the Raiton chakra like it was supposed to. He spent several more minutes throwing his lightning charged shuriken, striking the target and yet never managing to have them light up the way they were supposed to.

Frowning to himself Senshi focused, pushing his chakra into the throwing star and then forcing it to swirl around. Once he made it swirl he quickly converted the chakra to lightning chakra and increased the tiny vortex he had created inside the blade. He quickly threw the small star, his breath hitching as he wondered if his idea would work. After just over a meter of flying suddenly the blade lite up with small static charges just as it struck the little wooden targets Senshi allowed himself a smile in pride. All that was left was practice and then he would be able to use the technique in combat. He spent the next two minutes charging his throwing stars and sending them through the air, to ensure his speed with the little weapons. By the end of the two minutes he was beginning to wonder if he could get fast enough with charging his weapons this way to use his Kyudo Kai Quick Draw technique with it. Maybe eventually. But probably not just yet. Senshi grinned as he emptied his shuriken holster again before retrieving them. He definitely had this technique down pat and it had taken just over thirty minutes. That left him plenty of time to go through a good physical work out and all his techniques before he retired for the night. Maybe one of his teammates would show up and assist him. He could assist them too after all. He sat down with his back leaning against the training post while he focused on sharpening his blades, basic weapons maintenance was incredibly important after all. Plus he could use the short break before he returned to his training.

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Sun Nov 20, 2016 2:40 am
After gathering some supplies and other things, Max would head towards the training grounds at his own pace, not really rushing. He had no reason to rush to train today. It wasn’t that he felt that he didn’t need the training, more that wasting energy dashing to get to the training area would waste some precious stamina that could be used to practice actual techniques to improve his skills.

Seeing where Senshi had been training, it looked as though the boy had already gotten in a serious work out. Well, that was good. The dedication he had to his training was something that Max could say that he had been fairly excited about. The pace at which his team was growing was astounding, and so he couldn’t sit back and allow them to get too far ahead of him, otherwise he would be at a disadvantage during missions. Max wasn’t the kind of person that wanted to have to be protected by others. No, he was the one who intended on doing the protecting. This whole village was HIS to protect, and that would require much greater strength than he currently had.

Napa would hide a fierce grin, knowing fully what his intentions for Max would be. He would force the boy to adapt and grow stronger, or else die in the process. Napa was intent on making Max into a force to be reckoned. A force that would not have to cower or flee in the face of real opposition. One that would gain the same kind of begrudging respect that Lord Mortarion had earned from any of his foes. Lady Akihana had said that strength came in many varieties, but until he had been shown the effectiveness of these other strengths he would focus on gaining the kind of strength that he had seen in action. The kind that would allow him to throw his power around to get what he wanted. He wouldn’t have to bow down to the will of others. He would have to bow to none…

Approaching his newfound ally and teammate, Max would smile and wave. The pack that he had on his back had seemed particularly large at the moment if Senshi had been perceptive enough to notice. Max would set the pack down leaning against a nearby rock, its wrappings tightly covering the puppets inside. “How goes the training? Do you feel ready to complete our first team mission? Either way, I wouldn’t mind getting some training in as well. That is of course assuming you don’t mind.” Max would say in a pleasant tone to his comrade. This would be his first training session with another person…. Well, another living person. He had gotten a good bit of training in with Napa, but that wouldn’t be the same as this. No, this would prove far more difficult. Deep down, Max knew that he could ‘feel’ what Napa was going to do before he did it. The same was not likely to be the case with Senshi.

“If you were up for some training, how would you like to do it? Simple practice of Jutsu and techniques, conditioning, or a full blown spar?” Max had no leanings to any particular style of training, for he was just glad to be getting the practice in.

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Sun Nov 20, 2016 11:18 am
OOC: Please excuse how long this post is, I really want my sword

Senshi pushed himself up to begin his training anew, when his ears picked up the sound of footsteps. Letting loose a bit of chakra in a pulse to check the area he was surprised when it came back as a very small signature. Not only a very small signature but one he recognized quite well. When his elder brother emerged from the tree line, Senshi gave him a light nod before jogging over. “Senshi, Tou-San says if you want that sword you asked from him you had better head over to the shop right away, or else he’s going to scrap it.” Senshi couldn’t help the sudden feeling of excitement that whirled through his body. Finally, finally, after all this time he was going to get his hands on the big beast so to speak. He gave his brother a polite nod before speaking, “Thank you Kyusei-San, I’ll be there in moments.” Before his brother could say anything the large for his age Genin completed a few simple hand seals and disappeared.

His body flicker technique was coming along decently he thought as he ran through the woods back towards the village. It didn’t take long before he was in the village proper and with a light push of chakra through his legs he was running along the rooftops towards his father’s shop. He had only been this excited twice before in his life. When he had first become a Genin and when he had completed his first D rank mission for the village. He couldn’t believe that the long awaited day had finally arrived. After he had completed his first D rank he had spoken to his father about commissioning the blade. The man had made it readily apparent that Senshi would have to work off the cost of the blade or pay it outright by himself. His father wasn’t a charity after all, and he wanted his youngest son to know how to handle his own finances.

At least that was what Senshi took from the entire thing. As he landed in front of his father’s shop him quickly straighter his clothing before stepping in, back as straight as possible and brown flecked green eyes alight with excitement. His eldest brother was tending the till and when he saw the youngest spawn of the Kobayashi family he simply twitched his head towards the backroom indicating where his father was. Senshi quickened his pace, dodging around the racks of weapons until he was in the back room and he could see his Father sitting next to the extremely large blade. He knew it would be awkward to carry until he was a little bit bigger, but he also knew it would be worth it. No one was going to make him close to fist range again with this blade. He bowed to his father, lower than he would normally go but his excitement overwhelmed him. “Tou-Sama, Kyusei-san said to report to you since the blade was completed.”

The eldest Kobayashi turned to look at his youngest son giving a slightly disgusted look as he did so. “Blade? This thing is more like a slab of sharpened metal. There’s nothing special about it.” The old man growled and Senshi kept his mouth shut, knowing his father didn’t like how large the blade he had commissioned was. Or how simple it was. Senshi was the son of a blacksmith and if he was going to be wielding a weapon from his father’s shop in combat the man wanted his youngest son to wield the most extravagant thing that there could be. What better way to show off the shops wares, especially to other shinobi of the village. He felt that letting his son wield this slab of metal wouldn’t bring in the amount of business he had originally been hoping for. With a quick wave of his hand, Senshi’s father gestured to several ornamental weapons before speaking.

“Before I give you the blade, go deliver those. It’ll complete the final chore for you to pay off this blade unless you wanted to give me the Ryo now and stop wasting my time.” Senshi flushed slightly, he had forgotten in his excitement that he still had chores to do for his father to pay the blade off. Giving another light bow he quickly collected the three weapons watching as his father shined the dark blade. Tearing his eyes away he took off at a sprint, he knew the houses that he had to deliver these to and it wouldn’t take long at all. Senshi was mildly surprised to note that Fukishima-san had commissioned an ornamental blade from his father. It seemed that his work during his missions had gotten around at least a little bit. He wondered, briefly, if his father was proud that his youngest son was doing so well. He quickly pushed the thought from his head as he finished delivering the final weapon. Taking off at a sprint he was soon back at his father’s shop reporting his success.

The man pushed himself up, towering over the young Genin before he threw him a piece of leather. It was an odd belt that also clipped over his right shoulder. Once he had put his swords sheath on correctly and ensured it was tightened his father gestured to the blade. “You’re my son, you know the tradition with weapons.” Senshi nodded approaching the blade slowly before bending down. He ran his hand along the flat portion of it, admiring the dark black gleam of the blade for several seconds before shaking himself out of his reverie. He then moved his hand and with a quick swipe cut himself on the blade spreading his blood along the flat part and the sharpened edge. “I hereby christen you Basutadosodo. You are not a true blade, sleek and deadly in your speed, but you are a weapon equal if not greater to them.” His father nodded in acceptance to the blades name as Senshi hefted it up swinging it awkwardly around his back. He really wasn’t tall enough for this just yet, but he’d make due.

With a quick surge of his chakra he attached the heavy blade to his back before giving his father an awkward bow with the weapon attached. He would really need to practice with this if he was going to take it into combat. A scant few minutes later and the dark haired boy was back at the training grounds. He drew the blade from his back with a harsh wrench, and ducking slightly to ensure he didn’t smack himself. He hefted the blade up swinging it several times experimentally. It would be the sudden sound of footsteps behind him, in the middle of a swing that would surprise him into relaxing his grip. He turned letting loose a chakra pulse as he did so. His eyes quickly alighted on his youngest blonde haired teammate, Max. He could feel the other boy’s chakra, it sparked just like his did but felt stronger and more potent, like he used it more.

Senshi let loose another pulse wondering why he couldn’t feel Napa-sempai, but disregarded it as he quickly moved to the sword that had landed on the ground with an audible thud. As he hefted the large blade up and secured it on his back he ignored the minor dent it had created in the ground as he approached his teammate. Senshi gave max a small shy smile as he spoke, eyeing the pack curiously for several seconds before speaking himself. “I did decently well on the D ranks I’ve been on so I’m sure with Itami-Taichou leading us we will complete our mission satisfactorily. I would greatly enjoy training with you Maximillian-sempai.” Looking around Senshi shifted uncomfortably for several seconds. He really wasn’t used to interacting with people and it made it difficult to get rid of his formal tone. “I think all three would benefit the both of us. I regretfully admit that I haven’t been doing a lot of sparring lately and with basutadosodo at my side now, I’ll need to practice more.”

Senshi paused wondering what the best type of training method would be for them. He didn’t have much battle experience so he knew he needed to spar with others more. That incident with Reizo had certainly showed him that he needed to work harder at it. As he thought he released another small pulse of chakra, feeling out Max’s more. He needed to get to the point where he could recognize his teammates instinctively. “I think it may be most beneficial if we worked on some techniques first to properly warm up. Then we could conclude the training with a spar to test each other out. It would allow us to adjust to each other’s fighting style, which could prove extremely beneficial on our mission tomorrow. If that is acceptable to you Maximillian-sempai?” Senshi just barely restrained himself from bracing to attention for the younger boy. Max had been a Genin far longer than Senshi himself had, and to Senshi that made him a superior. But he also knew they were of the same rank and from what Reizo had said he needed to ‘relax’ a bit.

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Max was up for any training that he could get in, so he was in no position to refuse his teammates plans for a quick warm up first. In reality, Max hadn’t known very many jutsu, nor was he particularly well trained. Most of his ability was in his natural talent and his creative puppetry, so learning a handful of techniques would likely prove to be very beneficial to him.

Max would notice the large weapon now held by his comrade, one that was not on him prior to this encounter. “That is a neat…. Sword it looks like. Also looks very heavy. Where did you get it?” He would question, noting how the thing would impact the ground with a loud thud and leave quite the mark on it as well. The size of the bulky blade was also a sign of just how strong the Genin must be. Max knew that he wouldn’t be able to wield such a blade, at least not in any type of traditional sense. Maybe one of his puppets, but even that felt like it might be a stretch.

"Itami seems like he can hold his own, so I have no issues with the idea of being on a team under him. Hopefully he will be able to teach us a great deal as well. The idea of growing stronger is rather appealing, and he seems like the kind of person who values that sort of thing." Max would say, realizing that this Itami could be a great help to his goals. The fact that the Jounin said nothing in regards to Max's words when speaking of the Kage had also been noted, and that information could prove useful in the future.

Realizing that he hadn’t really addressed Senshi and whether or not they could warm up first, he speaks up, “Yeah, I’m willing to get some practice in with you. Did you have anything in particular in mind as far as practicing jutsu? I don’t know a whole lot of techniques, but I’m willing to try and learn some with you. I’ve been practicing some Medical techniques, since understanding of the body and chakra network greatly enhances my puppet crafting. I also know a little bit of Ninjutsu, but I am by no means an expert.”

Max wouldn’t know where to start, but he was clearly excited about the idea of training with another person. Senshi didn’t know this, but Max had been unable to train with anybody else in the village as of yet. It wasn’t until just recently that he found folks that seemed to accept him and his…. Oddness. He looked over at the mummified puppets lying on the ground now. Which one would he use for the spar training later?

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Tue Nov 22, 2016 11:17 am
Senshi had a problem with overestimating his opponents, or even fellows. It was common for him to assume that almost anyone he met was significantly better than him. It wasn’t a confidence issue in the Genin, it was however a hazard of the training his Uncle had started him on. He had always been taught to assume that those around you were infinitely better than you were. It was safer that way, at least when dealing with an opponent. It would keep you cautious and prevent you from allowing pride to get in the way. Or so in theory. It had many drawbacks in that he would expect his comrades to be better than they were. In a leader this was bad because it could result in him giving eventual subordinates missions far exceeding their capabilities and ending in their maiming or worse death.

Senshi smiled broadly at Max’s question, this was his new pride and joy. The best thing he owned and the most expensive thing in his possession. It was without a doubt the one thing he had been wanting for a very long time, and to finally have it in his possession would break his normally severe reserve. His grin didn’t fade as he spoke, “Yea this is Basutadosodo. I just got her about fifteen minutes ago actually. She’s amazing, my Father forged her for me. She’s named Bastard Sword because she’s not quite a true sword. Most swords are sleek, fast. Meant to decapitate an opponent quickly.” He paused as he pulled the sword from his back in what was clearly an uncomfortable maneuver. He would need to practice more to get adjusted to drawing her, especially for the eventual techniques he had in mind.

He held the sword out in front of himself with both hands on the hilt before taking one hand off and twirling the blade through the air. It was slightly uncomfortable, and the tip of the blade wavered unsteadily in the air as he did the twirl. At the apex of the movement he charged a bit of chakra into the blade, causing it to light up with electricity as he smashed it into the ground in front of him. The sword completely covered him, showing nothing of the boy behind it. As the blade cut through the earth easily it caused many small cracks to spread out. Senshi leaned out from the side of the sword, the large smile still on his face. “She’s unwieldy and heavy, but she’ll allow me to keep enemies at a farther distance from myself. She’ll also serve as a useful shield in a pinch if I need it. She’s like a bastard child of a sword, a club, a lance, and a shield. She’ll serve all the purposes of each one, but not do as well at what a normal version would. I’m really proud of her.”

He added the last part with a slight blush on his face, realizing he had been waxing poetic about one of his true passions. Senshi might be strong enough to wield the blade, but he clearly lacked the skill necessary. His strength could do with an upgrade as well, since it would allow him to swing the blade faster and more accurately. Senshi nodded along with Max’s words. He wasn’t entirely sure how he should feel about their Jounin commander. The man clearly had held an air of annoyance at having to deal with them. That could easily be attributed to not knowing the Genin under his command however. He could simply be anticipating that they were all week, fresh from the academy shinobi that would need to be led step by step through everything. “I think Itami-Taichou will benefit us all. I wish I had access to his files so I could gain an idea as to his specialties. Regardless however I think he will round us all out as Shinobi. I am excited to finally be worthy of being placed on a team and to conduct higher level missions.”

Senshi felt that while his response was neutral, it was fair. They hadn’t spent a long time with their Jounin Commander, and having a strong opinion of the man seemed impossible at this point. They would certainly learn more about each other as a group in the following days. Senshi reached out, gripping the hilt of his weapon tightly he again practiced charging his lightning chakra into the blade sliding it from the earth he had encased it in like it was butter. With another slight twirl of the blade he brought it up around his shoulder, just barely missing clipping himself before sliding the sword along his back. With a small charge of chakra the leather strap he had going around his waist and shoulder to support the weight of the sword snapped quickly around the blade securing it diagonally across his back.

He figured he probably looked rather silly with a blade significantly larger than he was strapped sideways on his body. It very nearly scraped the ground and he had to reach uncomfortably high to grip the hilt. Well high and to the right far more than he would like. He really needed to hit a growth spurt in order to be able to draw the blade more effectively. Senshi reached up rubbing his jaw in a maneuver he had seen his father do multiple times. It was a pose the man took when he was thinking, though he had a strong beard to stroke when he did it while Senshi was merely a baby faced ten year old. “Well you’re a long range type, kind of like me. I don’t really know what you can do, but I think based on your build that learning a basic D rank Taijutsu technique would really help you. It would prevent an enemy from taking advantage of you if they got in close and increase your survivability. Or you could practice Chakra Sensing or Chakra Suppression.”

Senshi paused, wondering if he could accurately describe either technique. Deciding that he had enough practice in both and with a bit of thought that he would be able to he continued speaking, “Both skills are incredibly useful for longer range types like us. It’ll help to know where the enemy is and allow us to hide ourselves while the enemy has to search, which increases our survivability. They aren’t easy though as their Chuunin and Jounin level skills respectfully but I think I could show you how to do it well enough.” Senshi gave a soft, shy smile to the younger boy at the offer. He wasn’t really sure what Max could do, but judging by his small, frail build he could guess that Ninjutsu or heavy chakra techniques were his forte. The puppet that was known as Napa was a clear indication of the boy’s preference to keep his main body out of the fight, but Senshi wasn’t sure if the techniques a Puppet User knew could then be used by their puppets.

He would need to do more studying on puppetry, his lack of information about them was disconcerting. He could also pick Max’s brain about it, it would allow him to better understand his teammate as well. This was incredibly important in that it would increase their compatibility in missions. “Whichever you want to do works well for me. As for me I need to practice with this beauty. We can have our spar afterwards to practice our techniques. I think it would be advisable if we kept our spar to six moves (six posts) apiece so as not to risk injury or wearing ourselves out for tomorrow’s missions. It will afford us the best warm up possible and give each of us an idea of the others capabilities.” Senshi reached his arm back, pulling the weapon from his back again in that awkward movement. He would spend the next several minutes while both waiting for Max to reply, and while he spoke practicing drawing the weapon.

He didn’t swing it around, simply drew it and replaced it practicing the motions he would need to know in order to effectively draw the blade in combat and to replace it without looking like a fool. He was determined to have at least a passing familiarity with the weapon tomorrow. “If you want, maybe Reizo, you, and I can have a meal at my place so that we can discuss each other’s capabilities further. I’d like our teamwork to be decent and I think, possibly, discussing what we can do and each other’s roles will help that?” Senshi blushed again at his impulsive idea. They’d need to hunt Reizo down, but Senshi felt he could do it. As he had been doing throughout the entire conversation with the younger Genin, Senshi released another small pulse of chakra feeling out Max’s own. He wanted to become more familiar with the younger boys chakra in order to recognize him instantly. He felt his teammates needed to be people that he knew on instinct.

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Sat Nov 26, 2016 3:18 am
Hmm. Chakra Sensory and Chakra Supression were both incredibly interesting techniques. Max had read a little about such things, but Senshi was right in stating that it was normally shinobi of higher ranks that would learn the skills to do so. Rarely would a Genin have the ability to do so, or at least not as effectively. The level of Chakra Control to do so was impressive, to say the least. Almost any shinobi can focus and manipulate their chakra, but the energies of it always bleed out into the area. Channeling a lot of Chakra in the use of ones techniques was a fairly simple matter, as the stronger your flow of chakra and the larger your reservoir the more you can pour into techniques. But to be able to control your own flow of chakra to the point of hiding it, that was a rather impressive feat. Just knowing that Senshi had mastered not only the ability to hide his own chakra, but also the ability to focus in and sense the chakra of others made Max wonder just how strong his teammate was. Likely a lot stronger than he would let on. This should prove very interesting…

“I wouldn’t mind seeing a few techniques in Taijutsu, though my small body and relatively weak frame limit my effectiveness in such a field. I focus mostly on techniques dealing with Chakra, though the control I have over my own chakra network must be limited compared to that of your own. If you have any Lightning Ninjutsu techniques of Rank C or lower I would be fairly excited to learn those as well. I have this book that has a bunch of techniques in it.” He would say as he pulls out his Jutsu Encyclopedia, “I wouldn’t mind learning this,” he says as he points to the Ninjutsu known as Jibashi. It didn’t have the greatest of range, but some decent close range abilities will be good for Max to know as well. “Of course, I wouldn’t mind learning how to detect and suppress my chakra flow if you are capable of teaching such things. I don’t know many techniques myself, so I am unsure as to what I can teach you. The only more advanced technique I know is Chakra Absorption, but I am not sure if you want to learn that. If you do…” He would pause, thinking back to the time that he had learned the technique, “Just know that the ability can be quite invigorating.” Max would with a strange grin. In all reality, Max knew that his skill set was rather limited, but his mind was always soaking up new information and trying to figure out new and interesting abilities and ways to do things. This was greatly helpful to his puppet crafting, but he was unsure of how it impacted his shinobi skill set.

“I don’t mind us keeping the spar simple. I can use this to test out a few things with my puppets. You might even get to see the debut of my newest puppet! He’s really neat!” Max was clearly excited about the idea of using his new puppet, but he didn’t let the excitement overwhelm him like it sometimes would.

“Hold on a second. Are you actually inviting me to your house?” Max would question, almost doing a double take upon hearing the words escape the lips of Senshi. “Nobody has ever invited me to their house before. Most folks aren’t the fondest of me. Thank you. I accept your offer on behalf of myself and Napa.” Max would do almost a short bow to the older boy, trying to show his respect. He didn’t really know what to do in this situation or what the customary response was, so he just did what he thought would pass along the idea that he was grateful to have such a kind teammate and likely soon to be actual friend.

Max would warm up by concentrating the chakra within him and just trying to focus on it more than anything. He wasn’t sure how to put a ‘stopper’ on his chakra network for the suppression technique, but he would try his best to keep all of it internalized. The less chakra he ‘leaked’ the harder it would be to sense it, or at least that was what he had thought. In reality, he didn’t quite know how to mask it from others. This seemed like an okay place to start though. After several minutes of attempting to hide his chakra, he realized that he wouldn’t be able to know when or if he was actually even managing to do it right. Luckily, Senshi was here and able to try and sense him. If Senshi couldn’t, then that would mean that the technique was being implemented correctly, or at least correctly to some degree. On the other hand- the much more likely hand- he would not have been able to hide it and Senshi would see him lit up like a tree during Winter Festivities.

“Am I doing this right, Senshi? I really can’t tell.” He would say, trying to get the boys attention and hoping that he was not disrupting him from his own training.

OoC: Sorry for the wait. Had a bunch of holiday stuff and shopping to do.

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Sat Nov 26, 2016 5:45 pm
Senshi nodded along with Max’s words as he eyed the younger boy. He was right his frame was exceptionally small. Senshi himself had been much larger at that age. He couldn’t attest to the frailty of the other boys frame without seeing him take some form of damage. That and he had never seen the other boy lift anything so he couldn’t say what his level of strength was. His clothes were baggy enough that they even hid his frame from him. But if Max said that he was frail then Senshi would take him at his words. Senshi’s eyes brows rose at those words, he highly doubted a puppeteer would have less control of their chakra network than he did. Sure he had good control but that was mostly due to his smaller reserves. Granted they were growing at a phenomenal rate but he spent an inordinate amount of time focusing on his chakra control to ensure it stayed at the same level.

Senshi smiled as Max pulled out the Jutsu Encyclopedia, he had his own copy at home that he had spent a lot of time memorizing. Senshi nodded at the other boys words, he wasn’t too concerned about learning a new technique from the other boy. Just being able to show Max how to increase his own abilities would be enough in its own for now. If Max was stronger than Kumogakure would be stronger as a whole. That was the important thing in the end. “I have the Jutsu Encyclopedia as well, it was extremely useful and my primary source of finding new techniques to learn. I should be able to explain the Chakra Suppression and Chakra Sensory abilities satisfactorily. As for a taijutsu technique, I’d really recommend learning a simple D rank one. It’ll make it so that if someone does close with you, you can surprise them and knock them away from you so that you’ll be safer.” Senshi rubbed his jaw in thought wondering which taijutsu technique would be the best for the younger boy.

“I know Raiton: Jibashi it’ll be simple to show you. I think you should learn Leaf Gale or Leaf Whirlwind. Two really simple D rank taijutsu technique that’ll help you kick an opponent away. Do you have a preference for which one? It’s going to be a little difficult to teach you Raiton: Jibashi initially so I’ll show you a much simpler one first called Raiton: Keiren No Jutsu (Cramp Technique), then we can move to Raiton: Jibashi.” Senshi paused again as he started to gather his thoughts wondering which one they should start with first. As he did so he let loose another pulse of chakra surprised to feel Max trying to suppress it. His theory with how he was attempting it wasn’t wrong, it was different from how Senshi had gone about it however. As he was attempting this Senshi listened to him speak of his new puppet and gave the boy a light smile. He clearly loved his puppets as much as Senshi himself loved his weapons.

Before he could offer a hint on Chakra Suppression the other boy spoke again. His surprised tone caused Senshi to cock his head to the side, wondering why he would question that but a large smile lit his face up at the other boys acceptance. He had never brought anyone to his house before, so he was excited to show his family his team. “Of course I would invite you, you and Napa-Sempai are comrades and teammates now. I will inform my family and extend the invitation to Reizo-sempai and Itami-taichou tomorrow before we leave. Regardless if they accept as well I would still enjoy having you bless my home with your presence. We can have the dinner after we get back from our mission sometime, if that is acceptable?” Senshi wasn’t necessarily kind so much as respectful and polite to others, especially those who had been comrades.

Senshi replaced his sword on his back then drew it again as he continued to think. This practice was necessary to learn a C rank weaponry technique that he was extremely interested in. He pulled the sword out, going through several basic swings with it. Practicing just the horizontal slash as he continued to feel Max attempting the skill. At the other boys words Senshi paused in his swings debating how to answer the question. “You’ve got a different theory then when I attempted the technique. What I did first was to focus on the flow of my chakra, how fast it moved and then to start slowing it down. Once I could slow the flow to a trickle of what it once was I began to focus on compressing it together.” Senshi paused in his explanation as he conducted a few more slashes wondering how best to explain the next portion.

He was strong, but the blade was exceptionally heavy and though he was using both hands the tip of the sword wavered in the air slightly as he held it. He continued his slashes as he started to speak again, “If you focus on moving your chakra into a ball once you’ve slowed it down, you’ll then be able to push that ball of chakra into your core. The center, you should feel it somewhere in the pit of your stomach. Then you just have to learn to do it faster, and practice holding it there as it’s very difficult at first. It took me quite a while to figure it out and then even longer to be able to do it for any length of time. From what I can feel you’re doing a good job of lessening your presence, but your chakra is particularly potent compared to mine.” Senshi stopped speaking and went back to his sword slashing practice. He needed to ingrain the feeling of swinging the sword around. This would also greatly increase his strength, at least initially, as the sword was ridiculous in its weight.

It was meant to be heavy though, that way he could turn it into a club if need be. Or if the blade dulled while in battle the sheer power behind every swing would make up where the sharpness left off. As Senshi continued to practice, he kept letting loose chakra pulses focusing on how Max’s chakra felt, he would continue to offer advice as the other Genin needed it. He also made sure that Max was within his sight range as he practiced he wanted to be sure that if Max needed to get his attention he wouldn’t have to strain himself to do so. “As for your offer to teach me Chakra Absorption, I would love to but I have to put that off for now. I need to focus on some weaponry type techniques, especially with this new sword to practice with. But if the offer is still available later on, I would be pleased to accept your teachings.” Senshi switched from his horizontal slashes to Vertical slashes after having performed five hundred of them. He was only moving at half his best speed to ensure that he performing each technique correctly.

As he practiced he began to speak to the other boy again, it was nice to Senshi to feel the presence of another person in the training grounds with him. “Once you want to move on let me know, I think Chakra Sensory would be good to work on next, then we can give you a break from using your chakra to work on some taijutsu if you think that is acceptable before letting you learn the ninjutsu techniques before our spar.” Senshi wondering if Max’s puppets could use the techniques he learned, that would be incredibly beneficial to the other boys arsenal if they could. “Hey Max-Sempai, I don’t want to be disrespectful and seem as though I’m prying but if you would can I ask a question about Napa-Sempai and your other friend?” If Napa and the other puppet could use any technique that Max himself could, then Senshi was convinced that Max would be the best member of their team, aside from Itami-Taichou that is.

Being able to multiply his effectiveness on the battlefield with however many puppets he could influence would let the other boy destroy enemies with ease. Senshi resheathed his sword deciding that now would be a good time to practice a force multiplier of his own. If Max could send in his puppets, and Reizo would fight up close then Senshi felt he needed to be able to assist them both. To do that learning a simple technique that would increase the effectiveness of his Kunai and Shuriken that he’d be throwing would be the best. He focused on one of the wooden targets that was only about fifty meters away before he focused on his chakra. The technique he was about to try was called Raiton: Kunai cutter. Though it could easily be used on any type of thrown weapon as well.

He would need to perform a single hand sign, Dog, after charging and changing his chakra. Then he would need to focus on pushing that chakra into the kunai or shuriken. It would enhance their sharpness and speed of the throw causing them to do more damage. It would also cost very little from Senshi to do so, and with his skill with Chakra Infusion and from his three Raiton techniques he would be able to do it with ease. Or so he hoped. The Genin’s hands flashed into the dog seal and then his right dropped to his pouch drawing a Kunai and as he moved to fling it forwards he shoved all the lightning chakra he had built into it. He smiled as the blade lit up and began to crackle loudly as he threw it. It was pleasing to know he had succeeded as the Kunai hit the wooden target in the bulls eye then passed completely through it to stick into the tree that stood behind it up to the hilt.

It wouldn’t be a very surprising move, considering how bright and loud it was, but ti would be dangerous if it hit. And If nothing else it would be a good distraction technique. He began to practice throwing his kunai and Shuriken using the Raiton: Kunai Cutter each time so that he could build his speed and skill with the technique. It was unfortunate that he had to perform a seal beforehand, as it greatly slowed down his speed with which he drew the weapon. He was also incapable of doing it twice in a row as he needed to perform the seal each time before he touched the kunai or shuriken. Once he had run out of the weapons he turned to look at Max to ensure he didn’t need any more help.

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Sun Nov 27, 2016 8:14 pm
Max would agree to the offer of dinner after the mission. “I think I would like that very much. Thanks.” He would say right before continuing his training with laser focus. This technique was something he needed to learn, for it may end up saving his life sometime in the future.

He should slow his chakra and focus it into his gut? Since Senshi already had the technique down, it would prove wise to follow his directions. Internalizing his chakra even more than before, he would begin to feel it amplify in his stomach. Before long, the energy would reduce as he concentrated on weakening his own chakra flow. Such mastery over his own chakra control would be needed if he was to become as strong as he needed to. His goals would demand such of him.

The energies would creep to a crawl before ‘winking out’. Max felt oddly at such a sensation, for he had never felt as helpless as he had then. It was as if his own body was recoiling and weakening without the aid of chakra pumping heavily through his network. “I feel really weird. Is that supposed to happen, or am I doing something wrong?” Max would ask as his mind began to wander.

Should Senshi validate his belief that he had been successful, Max would move to the next thing he planned on challenging himself to do. “So might I ask how one senses the chakra flow of another? I’ve never really been able to actually detect it, though some people seem to have a powerful aura around them.” His mind would think to the Raikage Mortarion upon uttering these words. The man –if he could even be called such- would exude power from his mere existence. Max wondered just what it was that fueled the powerful man, unsure of what had made him such a terrifyingly strong adversary.

Unsure of where to even start with the sensing of anothers chakra, Max would begin to focus chakra to his hands, watching as small streams of lightning chakra arced between his fingers. Rapidly forming the seals, he would generate the “Cramp Jutsu”, forming a one shot use stun-gun of sorts. “I am familiar with the technique. That’s why I was hoping to learn some more advanced jutsu of the lightning style. They grant me more options on the battlefield, and options are never a bad thing. I will also gladly learn one of those Taijutsu moves as well. I don’t know which, as I have no idea about the effectiveness of each of those moves. What do they involve?” Max would inquire. He had little to no training in the martial arts, a sad reality in a world full of ninja and war. But that was why he had his friends to protect him. Still, knowing a few things couldn’t hurt as you never know what battle will bring to your doorstep.

Upon hearing Senshi’s curiousity about his friends, Max would smile. “I’ll gladly tell you about them. What would you like to know?” Max was always glad to talk about his puppets. The bodies that he built for his friends showcased his own abilities and innovations and he was quite proud of them. He couldn’t explain their personalities and how it influenced their combat effectiveness.

Not that he thinks about it, Max realized that he should really build a better chassis for Napa to attach to. It would improve his combat effectiveness a bunch, and so it would also be on his checklist of things to do soon.

Extra Training before a C Rank Empty Re: Extra Training before a C Rank

Mon Nov 28, 2016 5:03 pm
((OOC: I lied whole post pertains to you, I'll do Raiton: Jodan next post))

Senshi turned to the other boy as he spoke his head cocking to the side wondering what he meant about weird. It took several moments before the confusion on his face cleared as he had worked through everything about the technique that he knew. Senshi didn’t often feel weird with it mainly because his strength and speed was part of his muscles. He didn’t rely on chakra to speed himself up or increase his strength. Though he did use it during some attacks, his baseline was just what his body could perform on its own. “If you mean by weird a weak feeling, than yes. You must use chakra to bolster your muscles, it’s actually a good thing that you’re learning this than. You can build up your muscles so you don’t have to rely on chakra for your speed or strength.” Senshi waited to see if Max had anything else, which he apparently did.

Senshi schooled his face from its usual impassivity to one of polite attention. He felt that maybe showing this would bolster his relationship with Max. He had always been told that showing someone you were interested in what they were saying made that person feel better about themselves. Senshi pondered on Max’s question for several seconds, wondering the best way to explain the skill to him. He decided to go with the book method, which he had learned from. “So what you’ll want to do for Chakra Sensory is a pulse of chakra from your body. You build you chakra so that it layers around you in a thin, invisible layer. You then visualize it moving out to find other sources that have the same energy flow, from there you need to shape your chakra like a boomerang so that it can send back and image of what you’re searching for. Initially you should be overpowered by the largest chakra signature in the area. You’ll be able to see past it eventually to search for smaller chakras around it. I’ve noticed when I use it that you give off them same feeling my own chakra does, like static. But the First Lady feels very warm, like I’ve accidentally stepped too close to a fire.”

That was the best Senshi could explain, he couldn’t really show this technique either as if Max couldn’t sense what he was doing then he wouldn’t be able to exactly see how it was done. This was one of those things that was internal and the best thing was a detailed explanation to assist someone along. Senshi smiled as he watched the chakra jump from Max’s palm. This would be so much simpler since the other boy could already access his lightning chakra. With a smile Senshi spoke again, responding only to the first words Max had said. “That’s excellent you’ll be able to do Raiton: Jibashi no problem then!” Senshi raised his arms, running through the seals of Raiton: Jibashi at full speed before suddenly his hands lit up with the lightning nature chakra, small little bolts of lightning crackling like an outline over his firsts. He released the chakra from his hands watching as a small bolt of lightning covered in several smaller bolts jumped off his hand and struck a rock a mere 3 meters away. It quickly cracked showing a small hole has pierced at least a quarter of the way through it.

He was pleased to see how around the hole itself the rock was now blacked and smoking from the heat of the lightning. He knew better than to strike a tree again, after it had blown up on him. “The seals are Boar, Ram, Snake, Horse, and then Dragon. It’s effectively an exceptionally more powerful version than the Cramp technique. You want to visualize the chakra outlining your fists with lightning chakra and then focus on allowing the lightning to jump from you hand straight at them.  It only works to about five meters, and it’s a straight line technique. So while you can sort have aim for a body part by pointing your hand at them, you can’t make it turn in the air like a shuriken.” Senshi was pleased with his explanation and this time he went through the seals slowly, building his chakra and shaping it with precision. Once he had finished he let the chakra surge around his hand and then forced it to leap out and strike the boulder again, in the same spot as before.

“Be careful if you aim at a tree, due to the sap and water stored in the bark if you hit it with enough power it could explode.” He wasn’t sure which taijutsu technique would be best for Max to learn. Honestly both were good techniques and Senshi was glad that Max was open to learning something outside his specialty. He didn’t want his comrade to die after all. With that thought Senshi nodded, he would teach Max the stronger of the two techniques. It would boost his speed and strength and be more surprised to an enemy if they were struck by it, which would allow Max to escape out of the close range. “I think Leaf Whirlwind will be the best, as it is the stronger of the two. I wish Reizo-Sempai had chosen to come training as well, he is much better at Taijutsu than I am and could both demonstrate and explain it better but I will do my best Max-Sempai. I’ll demonstrate it first and then explain.”

Senshi moved over to the training post so he was close to it and focused his chakra like had practice and then he moved. His right leg swing out in a high kick at the log connecting and smashing through it allowing him to swing his body around, as he did so he let his knee buckle until he was crouched as low as he could go and he placed both hands on the ground knocking up dirt as he charged chakra through his muscles speeding up and using the momentum of his high kick to spin him body around smashing his leg into the log in a low kick the sent the remaining remnants of it crashing into a nearby tree and thoroughly denting it. A fierce grin split the boy’s lips as he pushed himself up, dusting himself off slightly as the dust he had kicked up finally began to settle. “As you can see, it’s a really powerful move. You go in for a high kick and allow the momentum to spin you around, as you do that you bend down and continue the high kick into a low Kick to take out the opponents legs. However, as you do this you need to pump more chakra into your legs and visualize the movement your making and your leg hardening like steel.”

Max’s smile elicited a small, shy one back from the older boy. He was glad that his question hadn’t been offensive and that the other boy even seemed pleased to speak about them. “I was wondering can they perform any technique you yourself can. Are they as durable as you are, or more so? Do you think the chakra threads are able to be sensed with chakra sensory, and traced back to their owner? I mean I imagine that would be very difficult to do with the chaos of combat. Especially if Napa-sempai could use Raiton Jibashi it would hide the signature of your threads considerably I’d think.” Senshi blushed as he blurted out his thoughts one by one, he had probably overwhelmed the other boy in his excitement to learn about them. There were scant few books covering Puppetry or Chakra Threads, and Senshi had not been able to learn much about them. It left a whole in his education that he was genuinely eager to fill.
