Hyuuga Heritage, Komon's Curiousity
Fri Dec 16, 2016 11:36 pm
Komon groaned loudly, He had passed his second chuunin exam trial with flying colors, but he expected the third to be more than challenging to say the least… Rumor had it he would put into combat with a mystery shinobi. Without any information on his opponent Komon would be forced to adapt on the spot which was certainly not his strong suit. He wanted to be prepared as possible and thus decided it was time to learn some taijutsu. He was currently sitting in the library completely bored from scanning through various books, with detailed descriptions of things as simple as a kick, That stuff didn’t interest Komon at all, he already knew how to kick after all.. It may not be with style or nearly as effective as taijutsu users seem to be able to do it. But it worked for him… No he wanted to learn something more complicated. And that’s when he flashed back to his mother.
The woman was a Hyuuga shinobi, and the clan was renowned for their taijutsu, Komon had often watched her spar with their father in the early mornings, He remembered an attack she called Eight Trigrams: 64 Palms, that she had often used against him. The jutsu as a whole was a little vague to Komon, but from what he remembered of it, his mother had blasted her father with an invisible chakra surrounded her hands with every punch. This was much more interesting to Komon than any of the techniques he had found in the library, but he still had the problem that he hadn’t remembered the technique well enough to teach himself, and there were no hyuugas in the village that could teach him.
But there was still hope, he remembered his mother used to keep a detailed history of the Hyuuga Clan in the attack, she was often homesick and brought it out to review it every time she began to feel down, since she had been forbidden to return to the leaf village, after leaving to marry her father. Komon’s eyes lit up at the thought, that book probably contained all of the Hyuuga clan's secret techniques. In a desperate need to learn something interesting he slammed his books shut on the table and sprinted over to the taijutsu section to put them back getting angry glares from some of the other readers for the noises he was creating.
But Komon didn’t really care, it's not like he would get kicked out of the library or anything… He was Jiyo’s friend, and she practically ran the place. So he made his way down to the first floor of the library and exited out the front door and onto the streets of the village hidden in the clouds. The sun was bright today, the heavy clouds that had haunted the sky’s in his previous training had seemed to disappear for the day. A much welcomed change in events komon felt, as he walked on the streets of the hidden cloud.
After about 20 minutes he made it back to his apartment, opening and peering through his front door, His brothers sandals were gone so he guessed that Komori was out training… Komon smiled at the thought, the two of them were certainly becoming stronger. Komon stepped into the empty house slipping off his shoes, and making his way up the stairs, the attic was located in the hallway with a kind of trap door located on the ceiling with a string attached to it. The child extended his hand into the air, and closed his fist around the string before pulling the flap down which caused a ladder to unfold downwards and touch the floor of his apartment.
Komon rarely went into the attic mainly because there just wasn’t anything there that was really important, and also because he had just recently grown tall enough to reach that string. As he climbed the ladder the attic slowly began to come into his line of sight. It was dark and the light switch was in the very back of the attic so Komon had to tiptoe and maneuver around careful to make sure he didn’t trip on any objects. He fidgeted with disgust as he ran through a cobweb that had caught him off guard. His byakugan may be great for seeing chakra but it couldn’t catch everything. Finally he made it to the other side of the attic and flipped the lightswitch on. “The architect for this house was a downright idiot” Komon thought to himself as the three lines in the attic flipped on one at a time, the last one revealing a chest at the other end of the attic, other objects in the attic seemed to be a punching bag, a window overlooking the street, and a bookshelf.
The chest however had his mother's name on it as well as the hyuuga crest, one thing Komon always felt strange about was belonging to a clan he knew next to nothing about, hopefully today would clear up that ever so strange feeling. The chest had a lock on it, and komon really had no idea where the key would be so he lightly destroyed the lock with his chidori. The chest popped open to reveal a stack of books also with the Hyuuga crest and titles in various fonts and colors. The first book read “The Hyuuga Clan History” and had a lime green hardcover to it, while the second book read “Hyuuga Clan Secret Techniques” and had an almost turquoise hardcover to it. Komon decided that the secret techniques book was what he had been looking for, but when he opened it up to begin reading he was surprised to see that every page was blank.
Needless to say this puzzled Komon at first, but komon was a quick thinker and an idea soon popped into his head, This book contained the prized secret techniques of the hyuuga clan, It would be foolish to let someone who hasn’t possessed the hyuuga clan kekkei genkai to be able to read the text inside. “What if the words are imprinted in chakra… It would be invisible to the naked eye, but anyone with a byakugan would be able to easily read it.” Komon smiled pleased with himself for thinking of such a clever solution before activating his byakugan, and surely enough blue text began to appear on each page when he funneled chakra into the book. Komon quickly began to scan through chapters looking for the Technique Eight Trigrams: 64 Palms.
After a couple minutes of flipping pages his eyes fell upon the technique he had been searching for, he began to read the description of the taijutsu technique so that he could better understand it. From what the jutsu described the user simply surrounded there palm in chakra and created an invisible chakra needle designed to do damage to internal organs and chakra points, this would weaken the opponent's ninjutsu as well as deal a decent amount of damage, to their body. The jutsu certainly sounded interesting, and it was a taijutsu so it required no hand signs at all. That was the easy part. However the hard part was it seemed he had to practice this on an actual living target if he wanted to get anywhere with that.
But that hard part was quickly relieved when he saw a drawing similar to that of the punching bag transcribed in the booklet, apparently the punching bag had a mock chakra system inside of it, and was a tool that the hyuuga used to practice precision without a sparring partner.
Komons byakugan was still active from reading the book and he shifted his byakugan towards the bag to check out how intricate the mock chakra system really was. Upon close inspection he could find almost no difference between his chakra system and and the one in the bag, a near perfect match in all honesty, it would be idea for practice.
Confident he could begin his training he thought back to the text in the book he had just briefly scanned through. “The Hyuuga Clan is infamous for their gentle fist techniques, In order to use the technique one must first master the art of concentrating chakra to a specific part of the body” Komon thought this part would be relatively easy, he had already learned several techniques that required the use of chakra control, this part should come easily to him. So he began to slow his breathing as he always did when he focused on chakra control and began to let his chakra naturally flow to the palm of his hand and enveloping it, with his byakugan he could see the chakra form a glove like shape around his hand. “So far so good” He thought to himself.
Then he moved onto the next step, Forming an invisible chakra needle on the palm of his hand, as the book called it. Komon had grown accustomed to making chakra sharp with his chidori technique, he had done it often while practicing his chidori, which had just been a couple weeks back, he figured it might take a couple tries to get it right, and that trouble was to be expected… But he knew he would eventually be able to get it down despite them. So he began to work on it, with the chakra already on his palm he began to push it outwards, only to watch it shrivel up and disappear into the air, komon frowned in response, Creating such a small needle of chakra as this jutsu required, demanded the mastery of chakra control that the hyuuga clan was infamous for. Not willing to be discouraged by a lack of progress he had been making as of late he got back into the grind and once more pushed out with his chakra, this time a needle clearly formed for about 2 seconds before it dispersed into the air. Komon frowned again before trying one last time, this time slowing his breathing, and focusing on the palm of his hand.. The chakra seemed to solidify as it extended and formed a pointed need in the middle of his palm perfectly visible with his byakugan, but when he deactivated his byakugan it vanished from view. Komon smiled as the jutsu began to start coming along.
Now that he had mastered the control aspect of the jutsu there was only one thing left to do, practice the offensive technique of delivering chakra filled blows to internal organs with the mock chakra system punching bag across the room. Komon activated his byakugan again knowing it was essential for the technique and studied the chakra system on the punching bag, with his byakugan he had often seen chakra systems but never really looked at how they work, the dots all throughout the body seemed to act as distributors, so wher he used chidori, the main distributer In the heart area would release chakra flow to several different chakra points all the way down to his arm. In theory if he could knock out enough of the chakra points he could stop the flow of chakra completely.
Komon had had enough of studying and decided it was time for action, once more he covered his palm in a glove shape of chakra before extending a needle out of the tip of his palms with needles in both hands he began to let loose a series of blows on the punching bags mock chakra system, first striking with only two blows, “2 Palms!” then delivering a mirror image of his first attack, “4 Palms!” this time he doubled the amount of strikes, bringing him to 8 in total “8 Palms” Now he let loose with more fury than before delivering an 8 consecutive hit combo onto the punching bag. “16 Palms!” and he wasn’t about to stop there, once more he struck out delivering another 16 punches at that poor poor punching bag, “32 Palms” as if he hadn’t already abused the piece of training equipment enough he decided to finish his technique, delivering 32 more blows. “64 Palms!” he shouted as he delivered his final blow, and watched as the punching bag flew off of its chain and onto the ground, He smiled as his byakugan saw the havoc he had sown on the punching bags chakra system.
The woman was a Hyuuga shinobi, and the clan was renowned for their taijutsu, Komon had often watched her spar with their father in the early mornings, He remembered an attack she called Eight Trigrams: 64 Palms, that she had often used against him.
