Learning jutsu at lightning speed [Private]
Sat Jan 07, 2017 4:40 am
Komon was heading home from the library, he had recently been reading up on tai techs hoping to expand his knowledge in the area past simply hyuuga techniques. But he felt no need to train on it today, his next exam wasn’t for a couple of days and he had plenty of time in between to train accordingly. After several minutes of walking he saw his brother walking down the street, Komori looked relatively happy with himself, seemed he had been out training.
But Komon knew that Komori had not been advancing at nearly the rate he had been himself. Then a thought popped into Komons head, “I’m not doing anything important today, maybe I should help him out, I could teach him lightning ninjutsu, I’m sure it would go well with his water techniques.” After thinking it over he decided it was a good idea, His brother needed to get stronger if he ever wanted to make it past the chuunin exams and Komon had the ability to help him. It was the right thing to do in Komon’s mind.
So now sure of his intentions he made his way to his brother who had stopped in front of a vendor and tapped him on the back of his shoulder, to gain his attention, and as the poor kid turned around he used kieren no jutsu on the left side of his brothers torso sending a surge of electricity, throughout the young genin's body. Komon laughed, “So now that you know how it feels to receive it… How about learning how to deliver it?”

Komori grimaced from the jolt of mild pain that coursed through his body, albeit with a smile on his face. He had been feeling rather disappointed lately at how little he and his twin had been hanging out together, so it was a welcome feeling simply seeing his brother’s face, which was subsequently his face as well. He stifled a slight chuckle at his own train of thought. After the sudden shock, pun intended, of the jutsu, Komori noticed the sore feeling in his torso and clutched his chest with his free hand. There was not necessarily an appropriate response to the situation, as he had practiced the deadly taijutsu technique, A Thousand Years of Death, on Komon not that long ago. He reflected back to the moment where he had launched Komon across their kitchen until he was a crumpled mess against the floor. “Guess this makes us even,” Komori said while already beginning to plan out how he would get his brother back. It did not necessarily matter if they were even or not, as Komori always had to have the last laugh. Before his surprisingly less attractive twin brother could even respond, however, Komori spoke up once more, “You know very well that I am unable to learn that jutsu. I don’t appear to have a lightning chakra nature, you know.” Komori had been hard at work recently working on various techniques, however, his ninjutsu primarily composed of water style based moves. He looked to his twin with an expectant face.

Komon laughed as his brother jolted at the touch of his lightning ninjutsu, the kid deserved it after both the 1000 years of death, and the lock seal from earlier that morning. Then he waited for a response from his identical twin brother. Komori seemed less than confident in his lightning ability, talking about how he just did not seem to possess lightning ninjutsu, and that lightning chakra nature just didn’t seem to be a part of him. Komon however would believe none of it, as both their mother and father had been able to use lightning ninjutsu and he would be damned if he could not teach it to his brother. Waiting for Komori to finish talking about how he did not have lightning ninjutsu, Komon quickly interjected.
“Well yeah, you don’t have any lightning ninjutsu yet. But I do, and both our parents did, I’m sure you have the capabilities as well if we just hone them. And I don’t wanna brag or anything but I'm kind of great at lightning ninjutsu, I learned chidori after all. If you wanna learn it you gotta put in some work. Meet me by training field nine in about half an hour and we can get started first I gotta go pick up some ninja supplies from the shop, that are kind of essential for teaching chakra nature, got it?” Komon would ask his twin brother and await a response before he would turn to go the kumogakure ninja shop.

Komori laughed at his brother’s comment, “You sure sound like you’re bragging.” Komori then agreed to meet Komon at the training grounds in an hour and a half, and instead decided to make his way to the training grounds where he would impatiently await the arrival of his twin brother. Komori casually strolled down the roads of the Village Hidden in the Clouds. Not being in a hurry was a feeling that he was not used to, as he was used to waking up late and having to constantly be in a rush to get ready and make his way to wherever he needed. When he got to the training grounds, Komori pulled out a kunai from the weapons pouch on his right leg and jammed it as high as he could into a tree, which he then used it to pull himself up higher in order to reach a tree branch where he promptly sat down. He looked around and noticed that there were no other shinobi or citizens in sight, and decided to complete the chain of six handseals in order to activate the Rain Tiger at Will Technique, which caused the sky to darken in a one mile radius before beginning to rain. Komori loved to watch the rain and feel the raindrops against his face, as it was relaxing while also improving his sensory abilities. He sat on the tree branch, letting time slip by as he waited on his brother to show up.

Komon had already turned around when his brother accused him of bragging, and let out a laugh as he heard it before turning the corner and vanishing from his brothers view. The Kumogakure ninja shop wasn’t far from here and as far as Komon knew it was the only place in the village that sold chakra nature paper. Chakra nature paper was a special slip of paper designed to help ninja with honing their element, Komon had used them in the past to master his earth style, with the help of his former academy teacher, Gorami sensei.
As he turned the corner of the street, the ninja shop appeared over the horizon, the store itself wasn’t that big. It was a small wooden shack with a single floor run by an elderly woman. After a bit of walking, Komon made his way to the front door and let himself in and began to look for the chakra nature paper. The first aisle he went down seemed to be the weapons section, he saw several different types of bladed weapons as he walked down, strolling past kunai, shuriken, and swords.
The chakra papers he was looking for however where in the middle aisle, as he would find out when he turned the corner. Picking up a 20 pack he took it over to the front desk where the elderly woman stood waiting for him. “Will that be all today?” she would ask cheerfully. Komon would simply nod his head and take out the 20 ryo he owed the woman before dropping it on the counter. “Yes ma’am!” he would say.
Now with his purchase completed Komon stuffed the chakra papers into his weapons pouch before leaving the store. “It’s almost been thirty minutes, I better hurry to the training ground… Don’t wanna be late.” Komon thought to himself while crouching down close to the ground level of the hidden cloud village street and putting himself into a runners stance before taking in a deep breath. With his chakra focused he activated his lightning javelin, he had only 3 minutes to make a 10 minute run and was going to need the assistance of his lightning techs if he wanted to make it in time.
Then he pushed backwards with his foot leaving a cloud of dirt behind him as he flashed through the street at an alarming speed. As he grew closer to the training field he began to realize it was raining, a rather strange occurrence in the hidden cloud village at this time of year. Deciding to investigate Komon activated his byakugan and noticed it was his brothers jutsu as he could see his chakra signature on the tree branch about 50 meters out. “Turn off the damn rain!” Komon would shout now soaked in water, he was not a Hozuki like his brother and despised poor weather. It interfered with his main element as well as dampened his clothes, and caused illness. “Now get down here and take one of these!” He said as he pulled out the package of chakra paper which was stored in a small card box up towards the tree branch.

Komori had heard faint shouting suppressed by the drowning sound of pouring water.and as a result opened his eyes to find the source. He looked down from his perch in the tree where he was supporting himself with his arms while swinging his legs only to see his twin brother standing down below, cupping his hands in an attempt for his words to reach Komori up in the tree.
A devious thought came to mind as Komori feigned not being able to hear his brother’s shouting in regards to the current rainfall. He set his hand down on the tree branch and activated his hydrification kekkei genkei to create a small puddle of water before immediately manipulated the puddle to form into a bubble which he promptly launched as his brother, albeit not as powerfully as he would have at an enemy shinobi in order to avoid the risk of causing his brother blunt force trauma. As soon as the water balloon had been sent on its journey, Komori hopped off of the tree branch and landed on the ground as a puddle before reforming back into his normal self. As soon as he stood back up, he brushed his clothes off and dispelled the rain clouds in the sky, thus bringing the downpour to an end as he waited for the response from his twin brother before he grabbed one of the packages of chakra paper.

Komon watched as his brother formed an attack at him in disbelief, I offer to teach him lightning nin, and the brat want’s to hit me with another one of his pranks… Komon watched as the bubble made it to him relatively slowly, and as it approached him he simply shuffled to the left and watched it fly past him, before saying “Komori what the fuck.”
Now rather irritated he watched his brother hop from the tree and turn into a puddle, before reforming. When he did so he saw his brother dispel the rain and the sky begin to clear. At least he had gotten that part right. Komon thought to himself as his brother pulled out a piece of chakra paper. Komon decided to continue speaking. “Alright if you're done trying to kill me, we can start training”
Komon looked at the blank look on his brother’s face when he pulled out a piece of chakra paper from the box his brother was now holding, and held it up at about the same height as his face. “So this is what we call chakra paper, basically it reacts to chakra nature and when you pour your chakra into the paper it will do different things depending on the element. For example, watch this.” Komon would say as he began to call upon his earth based chakra and flood it into the paper, watching as it crumbled into dirt. Before he continued his sentence, “Now I imagine you’ve already mastered water based chakra so why don’t you give that a shot real quick and see what happens.”

Komori laughed at his brother’s comment before he took out a piece of chakra paper, only to hold it up in his hand between his index and middle fingers in addition to his thumb at the same level as his face. He followed the advice of his brother and, as he closed his eyes, Komori tried to channel his chakra nature into the paper. After a moment of concentration, he noticed that the paper had become damp with what could only have been the water aspect of his chakra nature, as he did not activate hydrification to make the paper wet. Confident in the chakra paper now, Komori pulled out another one and held it at his face level. This time, the paper felt as though it was heating up and burst into flames. Startled, Komori dropped the paper as it quickly burned into nothingness before it reached the ground. Due to his experience, Komori looked to Komon’s face for some sort of explanation, although he was not sure what he expected to hear.

With that, Komori laughed before grabbing yet another one, silently thankful that Komon had bought more than the few that he had already gone through, and concentrated once more. Komon’s words echoed within his mind, you don’t have any lightning ninjutsu yet. But I do, and both our parents did, I’m sure you have the capabilities as well if we just hone them. These words reinvigorated Komori’s efforts, as he felt as though he was channeling not only his chakra, but a piece of his mother’s, father’s, and even his surprisingly less attractive identical twin brother’s chakra as well. This time, Komori heard a faint crinkling sound as he hesitantly snuck a glance with a single eye in anticipation before opening both of his eyes. Much to his liking, the paper had crinkling up with the source being exactly where his fingers had been touching. Komori was smart enough to realize that the paper had responded to an electric signal, but just to clarify, asked his brother for confirmation, hardly able to contain his excitement, “I zapped the paper, didn’t I? This means lightning right?! I can totally zap things now!”
