Re: Learning jutsu at lightning speed [Private]
Sun Jan 08, 2017 10:49 pm
Komon looked into the distance at the sad sight of his brother not running half as fast as he himself was able to. Poor bastard. Komon gave him a head start before turning to Lilly. “Nice weather we’re having.” She grabbed her arm and looked down towards the ground, clearly uncomfortable. “Yep.” Komon looked back towards the direction that his brother had headed before deciding he had probably waited long enough. He turned back towards her and said, “Well it was nice meeting you and all but I have a brother to show up. I’ll see you around.”
Komori had gained himself a roughly seventy meter lead as Komon began to concentrate his chakra and envelop himself in the blue lightning, Komori probably would still beat him at this rate so he decided to pull out a jutsu he had learned long ago. “BODY FLICKER” he shouted as his speed nearly doubled and he appeared directly beside his brother, as the effect of body flicker wore off he used the momentum he had already gained to pass up his brother while slapping him in the back of the head once more. And touched the door before his brother could hash out another joke. “Better luck next time…” Komon would say as he made his way into the diner, keeping the door open as his brother followed in behind him.
Komon knew the people in the diner well as he had often visited it between training, Amai however didn’t seem to be working today, When Komon noticed this he couldn’t help but get a little disappointed, Her friend Ci seemed to be working in her position instead today as the hostess. “Welcome back, Komon, I assume you want your usual table?” She would ask, Komon shook his head as his normal table only had one seat and was in the corner of the diner and said “No thanks, Ci, My brother Komori will be joining me for lunch today, can we get a two person table instead?”
Ci nodded her head. The diner was not as busy as it usually was and there were plenty of seats open and ready to be seated. She motioned with her hand to signal the boys to follow her to the table before seating them and handing them their menus. “What would you guys want today” She would ask the two, Komon took the opportunity to respond before his brother, as he had just proven he was the faster of the two. “I’ll have some bacon. Komori what do you want?” He asked his brother.

“I’ll have the same,” Komori replied, “and some eggs, too.” Ci had started to walk away before Komori quickly added, “Also, a large glass of water!” He had been working incredibly hard that day and in unfamiliar boundaries as well. He had to be sure to keep hydrated, due to his Hozuki nature, and to avoid Lilly pestering him like she did last time he passed out. He thought she was cute as hell but when she got angry...she got angry. He decided to change his train of thought as he took in the scene of the diner. There were not many people patronizing the restaurant that day, and Komori wondered if it was ever particularly busy. He decided that he would have to come back another time to check out the place.
Ci came back not too long afterwards with their food, as she did not have many orders to fill. Komori could not help but check her out, as he thought of various ways he could he could flirt with her. “So, come here often.” He immediately hated himself. Out of everything I could have said. I said, “Come here often.” His lack of a proverbial filter might have been caused by the exhaustion brought upon him by his training, as they were just now taking a break, only to go back newly energized to learn the lightning tech chidori. Their waitress responded, “Yeah, I kind of work here.” Komori just turned his head and silently accepted his shame. “Yeah I came to that conclusion myself after I said it.” The air was filled with awkwardness until another customer walked in. Komori thought he heard Ci whisper a silent “Thank God” under her breath before she left the boys to their meals and went to attend to the new customers. Komori avoided eye contact with his brother, who he was sure was going to tease him about the events that just unfolded.

“Better keep that silver tongue in check, with skills like that you just might make Lilly jealous.” Komon said, teasing his clearly defeated and embarrassed brother who had his head hanging in shame to indicate just that. “But really tho, that was bad man” He said before looking around the diner once more to see if he could find anyone else he knew. There were a couple of jounin in the corner but none of them looked like any he knew. There was a bit of an awkward silence that was beginning to make itself known. Komon despised awkward silences and began to tap his fingers on the table silently before exhaling deeply to signal his brother to strike up some conversation.
Komori however seemed oblivious to his subtle hint, so Komon decided the responsibility of conversation was going to have to fall onto himself. His mind began to pick apart the day looking for any bit of conversation he could use before falling on the most prevalent of all the events of the day. “So that Lilly chick was pretty cute, You into her? You two seemed like you guys had something going on.”

Re: Learning jutsu at lightning speed [Private]

Komori perked his head up at the mention of her name, before saying to his brother, “Yeah, your dibs is invalid by the way,” and sharing a laugh between the two. He reflected for a moment about Lilly and how he wanted to get closer to her in a later thread full of more words and gain some more stat points. He did care about her, but did not feel as though he fully knew her, yet, almost like he was only scratching the surface of her personality. He then spoke up to Komon, “Yeah, I’m gonna see where that goes over time. Hopefully before I grow old and die alone,” with a laugh thrown in at the end of his sentence to assure his brother that he was joking and would obviously get a girl before his mysteriously less attractive identical twin brother managed to trick a girl into falling for him.
He realized that he had not devoured the plate of delicious, steaming food in front of him on the table. He picked up a pair of chopsticks, despite them being more difficult to use than standard silverware, in some misguided attempt to outshow his brother by skillfully manipulating the chopsticks. He even channeled some of his newfound lightning nature into his chakra network in order to eat quicker and get back to training. His arm began to turn into a blur as he ate the foot with immense speed, using lightning javelin to boost the movements of his arm and jaw in order to move the eggs to his mouth, chew, and swallow his food at a much faster rate than normal, almost like he had turned into a character based on a fat joke. This was going well, until his chopsticks could not handle the pressure assigned to them, as a piece of wood originating from the utensil snapped off and launched in the direction of Komon. This time, Komori did not mean to assault his brother, it just happened naturally, almost as if nature hated Komon with a fiery passion that fueled the depths of hell itself.

Komon finished his sentence and began to listen to his brothers response, apparently he was into the girl and had found Komon’s earlier dibs joke not to be funny at all, although Komon could have probably already guessed that on his own based on his brothers rather rude facial expressions at the time. It was at around this time that Komori’s eyes shifted back to his food, and he seemed to be rather mesmerized by it. As he began to devour it he apparently wasn’t eating fast enough as he soon began to pour electricity into his arm in an effort to use his newfound ninjutsu, with what Komon had to admit he had gained quite a bit of mastery over it relatively quickly.
Or at least he had thought. As the thought crossed his mind the universe lashed out at him as if to spite him, and his brothers hand released the chopstick with chakra enhanced speed and strength, luckily even though his brother had gained mastery over this technique it still left him slower than Komon’s base speed and he had plenty of time to react, Komon quickly raised his hand to hit the chopstick dead on at the middle of the point. This caused the chopstick to split and half but the momentum still carried it forward in opposite directions throughout the diner, one of the chopsticks landed harmlessly in the wall, but the second however hit a bowl a waitress was carrying causing it to shatter on impact.
“Oh shit,” Komon said to himself as he ducked his head hoping his brother would do the same, however it was to no avail as the now enraged waitress walked over and kicked the both of them out of the diner, Komon quickly grabbing his food for the road in the process and wondering if he would be allowed back in the future.

So the two brothers opted to head towards the training grounds that they had been at earlier that day. Since Komon was carrying food he had grabbed at the last minute, they decided to not use lightning javelin to get to the training grounds and walked instead. They took in the scenery of the Village Hidden in the Clouds, admiring the various buildings that lined the road to their right, and the open view of the mountains which could be seen from behind the short stone wall on the left side of the road, which protected villagers from accidentally walking off the edge of the mountain and plummeting to the ground below. Although, Komori thought to himself, if anybody was to do that, it would probably end up being Komon.
The two made their way past the intersection where Komori had almost damaged his marvelous good looks. He peeked his head up to see past any other pedestrians in an attempt to look for Lilly, but he soon realized that she must have left to do her own thing, which he was rather disappointed about. He had been looking forward to learning chidori, and wanted her there beside him. She had once told him that she would always be there to help him, should he need help, and Komori worried about whether or not he would end up injuring himself while learning chidori, as he had developed a terrible habit of failing miserably at learning techniques and damaging himself.
Eventually the two made it to the training grounds after discussing various topics, all the while Komon was eating his smuggled food. They walked to an open field near a forest of trees, where they had figured would be good enough targets for the sake of practicing this new jutsu. Komori had seen his brother use this technique before, as it seemed to be his favorite, and understood the devastating power that came with it. Komon began to finish off his food, while Komori looked to him expectantly to explain how to go about learning chidori.

Komon looked at his brother who was obviously expecting him to start teaching him at that moment, Komon however still had a face full of bacon, and as such simply looked back down to his plate and avoiding eye contact until he had finished chewing before gulping. He still had quite a bit of bacon left so he set his plate on a stump a couple meters to the left of him before he came back to stand in front of his obviously anxious to learn brother. “Alright” Komon started with before looking his brother in the eye to make sure he was paying attention. “So the most boring part of learning this technique is the ridiculous amount of handsigns. There is eleven in total and you're going to have to not just memorize them, but make them almost an instinct if you want to use it effectively in battle.
“I’m going to show you them now so watch closely, they won't do anything without your chakra control so you don’t have to worry about that nor should you attempt to… Ok here we go.” said Komon as he began to weave the eleven handsigns calling each one out as he did so and pausing for a second. “Ox” he said still keeping eye contact with his brother and leaving the handsign in tact to be quickly studied, Hand signs were taught to kumogakure academy students as well as the alphabet so he figured That Komori would get this part down fairly quickly before he moved on to the rest of the 10 symbols repeating the process of the first ones as he did so.

Komori listed intently to the words of his brother and was rather put off by the amount of handsigns. Although he had heard about a jutsu that he wanted to learn that required a total of forty four handsigns and shuddered at the thought of learning it. Anyways, Komori attempted to practice the handsigns in order. He went from Ox to Rabbit and then onto Monkey before he forgot where to continue and had to have his brother list off the handseals again. I wonder how he remembers all of these, Komori thought to himself, before he came to the sudden realization that his brother probably did not have a whole lot going on in his head to begin with, so eleven handseals would not have any trouble occupying that vacant space.
Komori once again tried the handsigns, this time with more confidence, as he switched slowly from Ox, Rabbit, Monkey, Dragon, Rat, Bird, Ox, Snake, Dog, Tiger, and a final Monkey. Believing himself to have gotten all of the handsigns correct, he then worked on performing them at an even faster rate. Okay Ox, then Rabbit, he began the thought process of talking to himself as a way to help him remember the signs in their proper order, Monkey… He hesitated, as he knew he had skipped one in between Monkey and Rat last time before remembering, Dragon, Rat, Bird, Ox, he thought for a moment because Ox appeared twice in the chain and he did not want to confuse the two before completing the chain with the Snake, Dog, Tiger, and finally the Monkey handseals.
Once he was confident in his ability to perform the chain of eleven handseals in the correct order, he began to manifest his chakra, changing his nature from the calm stillness of water to the energized jolt of lightning. He glared in the direction of the tree. Komori felt the lightning nature chakra channel into his right arm, until it felt like a painless burning sensation. He held his right arm out to his side as he moved his left hand to cover the inside of his elbow for his own safety. The chakra felt as though it was escaping his body as his lower arm lit up in a blinding flash of light, revealing lightning arcing across his arm up until the point where it met his other hand which was covering the inside of his elbow and protecting his upper arms from the effects of the jutsu, only to travel around his hand and forearm, as the lightning was seemingly searching for somewhere to escape. Small arcs of electricity bounced towards the ground and others crackled in the air. Komori enjoyed this sudden surge of power and cracked a grin as he faced his target, the nearby tree.
Komori attempted to take off running in the direction of said tree, still covering his right arm with his left. He tried to raise his hand higher and in more of a swinging maneuver in order to slice through the tree, but was surprised when he found that his arm felt like lead. His arm felt incredibly heavy, yet was able to move in a straight line perfectly fine, however, he could not change the position of his arm. Instead, he continued on in a perfectly straight line until he made contact with the tree, letting the energy of the electricity slice clean through the trunk of the tree, as Komori crouched down past the tree stopping himself from his sprint as the electricity began to fade away on his arm, until he stood up feeling like a badass. The tree, having lost part of its trunk, fell onto the newly created stump, and began to tip over towards another stump which had been the resting place of Komon’s plate of bacon. Komori turned around, noticing this, but was unable to activate lightning javelin to save the precious bacon, as that performance of chidori had drained him of his energy.
