Sakana listened to Komori say Yūgure was first. Sakana wasn't happy that Yūgure was first because he was at the lake talking to Komori before Yūgure even got there. Even though he wasn't happy he took this opportunity to watch and observe how to do the technique. First he acknowledged the tiger seal. He knew how to do that pretty flawlessly so practiced a few times until he was confident. He was thinking back as to what Komori was actually doing. Komori pulled water right out of the air to make mist. Sakana knew he couldn't that right away and wanted to first focus using the lake next to him to create a cloud of mist. But he was getting ahead of himself it wasn't his turn. He was watching as Yūgure was studying Komori and he didn't know why. He then saw that something was different about Yūgure’s eyes and concluded they aided him in learning techniques. Then suddenly Yūgure did the tiger seal and a small, almost clear cloud of mist was created. Even though it wasn't much Sakana thought it was a good first try. He studied Yūgure through all his various attempts at the jutsu. At the end Yūgure looked exhausted and Sakana thought he was going to quit, but Yūgure surprised Sakana and did the technique again but this time he did not pull the mist from the water. He pulled it from the air. After Yūgure did this he said goodbye to Sakana and Komori before he left.
Sakana knew this meant it was time for his turn. After watching Yūgure he figured this would go pretty quickly for him. He turned to Komori, then he walked over to the lake. Sakana looked over the clear lake and visualized the cloud. Sakana got into his ready stance as he did before he started every new jutsu. His feet spread apart and his arms by his chest. He made the tiger seal and said the name of the jutsu. A cloud appeared over the mist. It was bigger than Yūgure’s first try but it wasn't as large or as thick as he wanted it to be. So Sakana practiced over and over again. He trained long and hard, the mist kept getting bigger and bigger but Sakana wasn't satisfied. Finally he tried the jutsu again and this time the mist cloud went over the whole lake. It was thick and dense. He couldn't even see Komori who was standing near him. He was happy with this. He dispensed the cloud. Next he wanted to do what Yūgure did by pulling the water out of the air instead of the pond. He wondered how to do it but concluded that his mental concentration would need to be really strong until he got the hang of it. Sakana tried the jutsu. But instead of the huge mist he got when pulling the water of of the pond this cloud was small and almost clear. Being the perfectionist Sakana is he kept doing the jutsu over and over again. Pulling a little more moisture out of the air each time. And the mist keep getting thicker and thicker until it was the same as when he pulled it out of the water. Being satisfied with his training Sakana dispersed the mist from the air and the lake was clear. At this point Sakana was so tired, he was almost ready to drop so he figured he go home but first he had to tell Komori he was leaving and thank him for teaching him this jutsu. Sakana turned to Komori and said, “Thank you for teaching me this technique, but I really have to be going now.” Sakana then headed on his way home to show everyone what he learned but more importantly Sakana wanted to rest.

Komori had said bye to both of the other genin before they had left, and had stayed after the attempts by Yugure in order to observe the training regimen that Sakana was putting himself through. The young mild narcissist witnessed the other two less attractive genin struggle a bit more with the technique than he did, although they both seemed to have mastered the process of drawing water from the air around them. After Sakana left, Komori decided to try something for himself. He decided that in order to gain a quick advantage in any fight that he would inevitably end up in, that the greatest way to use this technique would be to use it without having to even use a handseal. He felt himself reaching his chakra out into the air around him, after only mildly holding the tiger handsign, Komori created a faint mist that scarcely covered him in a 10 meter radius. Now was the real test. He dropped the handseals and closed his eyes in a subconscious attempt to concentrate harder. He decided to imagine the air around him as simply an extension of his own chakra nature. Without realizing, the fog spread out slowly but surely until it covered a span of 15 meters and steadily spread further. He scrunched his nose up as he shut his eyes as much as he could while the mist around him increased in density. He felt the tug of his own chakra on the moisture around him, and he felt as though he could sense every single particle of water in the air in his general vicinity. Without his realization, the mist began to grow thicker and spread out even further until it encompassed him in a 25 meters wide circle of thin fog. The mist eventually spread until it could not any longer at the span of 50 meters from his person, as he concentrated even harder in an attempt to thicken the mist. This intensity continued onwards until Komori opened his eyes. He stretched out his hand in front of him, but was unable to see it as the fog was thick enough to the point where the dying light of the sunset was unable to pierce the mist. Komori smiled to himself and closed his eyes once more as he imagined himself dispelling it. He opened his eyes once more, only to see the yellow sun slowly dip below the horizon between two mountain peaks. He sat back down on the ground next to the lake, like he originally had planned to, and opted to watch the sunset.
