- ”MISSION”:
- Mission Name: Path to Chuunin
Rank:B
Type: Combat
Character Requirements: Genin
Mission Location: Kumogakure/Amegakure
Word Count Requirements:6000
Repeatable?Yes
NPC? 1 RPC
Reward:3k ryo and the ability to move on to the next mission
Task: Inside the villages there is not a training center that allows nin to hone their skills when attempting to rank up in their respective areas. Once such room is dedicated to the arts of combat to see if you have truly grown from your days in the academy. The room is a 5x5 meter square room with walls. Once you enter your opponent will be waiting. Show what you have learned.
Komori woke up extremely early that morning, probably earlier than he ever had before. It was roughly five or six in the morning, where the sun was just now beginning to come up across the horizon. Its golden rays pierced through his bedroom window as it shined through two mountain peaks in the east. Komori rather casually entered his small kitchen and prepared himself a light meal, in order to not weigh him down throughout his day. It was about time he finally got around to his third preliminary chuunin exam after putting it off for some time. He was thankful for the Village Hidden in the Cloud’s chuunin exams being able to be taken whenever a genin so pleased, but they were very demanding. This was a good thing, however, as it meant that Kumogakure shinobi truly worked harder than any other village for their rank. Other village may gain more chuunin at a faster rate, but Kumo would always have the stronger chuunin. It was at this time that Komori left the home that he shared with his twin brother, who was nowhere to be found. His brother had earned his promotion to Chuunin already, so he was most likely doing a mission or at least preparing for one this early in the morning. Komori did not hold any resentment towards Komon, in fact, his newly found higher status than Komori only worked to encourage Komori to follow up and work harder. He was always up for a challenge and was stubborn and combative enough to take this opportunity to eventually one up his slightly older but less attractive twin brother. Because the sun had not yet fully risen, the Village Hidden in the Clouds was rather cold due to the lack of the sun’s warmth. As a result, Komori had donned his favorite jacket and began a morning run, an exercise routine that he was not even remotely familiar with. He was immensely eager to follow up on his training session that had transpired relatively recently with Reizo Shoyu and Senshi Kobayashi. In exchange for merely teaching the two how to hone their water nature chakra, Reizo had taught him two rather powerful taijutsu techniques that he could not wait to show off in his next trial. Plus anything that he had learned from Senshi. What he did not tell them, however, was that he wanted to follow up the technique with another. It was for this reason that several hours before his exam, he had awoken early in the morning, around sunrise, and headed out to the training grounds to spar with himself once more. It was not the most fun training regimen in the world. Hell, nothing truly was, as training was hard work and time consuming. This routine allowed him to practice his techniques on an actual target, being his shadow clone, instead of simply having to imagine it or even substitute a log or some other item for an actual target. This allowed him to immediately put any techniques, whether they be learned or in the process of being learned, to immediate application, which would effectively allow him to see the results of the technique first handedly without having to wait for a separate situation entirely.
The easiest part about taijutsu was the lack of required handseals. One simply had to use their body’s natural skill, strength, and speed in order for one to become proficient. There was usually no chakra involved, which only increased the challenge for Komori, as he was naturally skilled in ninjutsu. This only furthered Komori’s drive to learn as many techniques as he could without truly devoting himself to the style. He was not even half as strong as either Reizo or Senshi, and as a result, he felt as though he would never be able to reach is full potential. He did plan to pick the art of Fuuinjutsu back up once he attained the rank of chuunin, as he had given it up as a genin in order to devote himself to the study of ninjutsu. It had worked in his favor, as he had learned such powerful techniques like chidori, the only downside was that it would not help him remotely in this next exam. As far as he knew, he could not even use ninjutsu based techniques that improved his strength and speed, such as lightning javelin. He was rather disappointed in this, as it simply utilized chakra to better oneself. But who was he to argue with the rules set out by the Raikage himself? Simple. He was not. He was not one to argue with authority, despite wanting to be a more free spirit. Especially when the authority would determine whether or not he would be able to advance a rank to chuunin. At this point in time, Komori merely desired to become a more powerful shinobi than he already was, as he personally believed that there would always be ways to better oneself.
Upon arriving at the training grounds, Komori would activate the clone seal and cause a doppelganger to form in a cloud of smoke. “Hey, buddy. Taijutsu training time. I’m gonna need you to stay still for a sec to practice this on, and then we can spar using it, alright?”
“Ugh, I guess so. We should really get some friends, you know, that way you don’t always have to spar yourself consistently. It’s starting to get old.”
Komori paused for a moment before coming up with the most brilliant comeback in the entire existence of the world, “Shut up.”
He then used his body just like a spring, crouching towards the ground and, recalling his training with Reizo, got as low to the ground as possible before kicking up into the air, aiming his kick just above the head. The power is instantly converted into a blow, which launched his shadow clone into the air. Komori then began to follow his doppelganger, who was now flying through the sky. He began to closely match the clone's momentum as he then appeared just behind his clone, exactly like a shadow. Komori had always thought that the name was a bit on the nose. The technique is usually preceded by a swift upper kick, Leaf Rising Wind, that will launch the target into the air. It is mainly used to position an opponent into a vulnerable aerial position. Dancing Leaf Shadow by itself is relatively harmless, but it is usable as a stepping stone for a great many powerful techniques like Front Lotus and the Lion Combo.
“Feel free to fight back, other me.”
This time Komori crouched low but his doppelganger was expecting this and just kicked him in the side. His body fell over from the rather unexpected kick. “Oh, you piece of shit.”
“Don't telegraph your moves, genius. How do you expect to pass the chuunin preliminary fighting like that.”
Komori picked himself up until he was on his hands and knees before pushing off the ground and turning to face his clone.
“You're right.”
This time Komori charged him and leapt into the air with a foot extended. “DYNAMIC ENTRY!” While in mid air, Komori signed the Tiger → Boar → Ox → Dog → Snake seals and used substitution jutsu. His clone braced for an attack that never connected as a relatively small log just bumped into him. He then looked around before hearing the most terrifying words a man can hear from behind him. “A THOUSAND YEARS OF DEATH!” Komori brought his hand up in the tiger seal and brought them to his clone’s keister. The doppelganger was then launched into the air a solid 10 meters before landing on the ground. Komori walked over and gloated, “That's a taijutsu move. Totally fair game.”
His clone pushed his upper body up to look Komori in the eyes while still lying on the ground. “You know once I disappear, you’re gonna get the memory of that, right?”
Komori’s expression of glee immediately faltered.
“I hate you.”
Satisfied with his current round of training success, Komori dispelled his clone and immediately began rubbing his own behind. It was a nonlethal technique, but he still felt as though it was dangerous and painful. Nonetheless, Komori looked around for any belongings of his, ignoring the memory of pain in his behind, despite not bringing anything. It was a natural habit of his, as he usually felt as though he was forgetting something. He then began the walk to the area devoted to the chuunin exams. There were loads of buildings still, and Komori noticed the arena peeking out from the forest where he had taken the second preliminary test as well as the immense concrete building that housed the first preliminary, complete with several different mazes for genin lab rats to complete. It was next door to this building where Komori would find a relatively small building in comparison to those around it. It seemed to be rather long but not very wide at all, and it lacked windows. Upon entering the front of the building, he was instructed to wait for a moment until the same proctor from his last exam walked up to him, “Hey, my man Komori, what’s up? I take it this means that you passed the last one, huh?” The boy smiled and nodded at the familiar face. This proctor had been one of the most encouraging people that Komori had encountered in the Village Hidden in the Clouds. Komori explained how he had managed to pass the exam and how he wanted to continue to push forward. He also thanked him for providing him with some helpful advice as Komori was escorted down a long hallway until he stopped at a seemingly random door that was left slightly ajar. The two said their goodbyes and the proctor wished him luck as Komori then walked into a 5 by 5 meter square room. As the room was much, much smaller than he expected, as it only took all of two seconds for him to scan the room. He was rather disappointed by this, as he had always pictured a gladiator style arena full of badassery. Instead, he would then find his familiar opponent and his manly beard of manly manliness standing before him. “Oh you have got to be kidding me.”

Re: Path to Chuunin 3: Fight Club

Senshi had awoken early per usual and completed his own training for the morning that had been far more extensive than Komori’s own. Considering he had been training with a several hundred pound steel pillar and kicking it around like it was a rag doll. The pillar was completely destroyed after the training session, which left Senshi rather sad considering it meant that he would have to get another one. That was rather annoying considering the darn things were extraordinarily expensive. However, he needed these pillars because they left him the chance to train to his full potential without hurting a fellow kumogakure shinobi. His pure strength was a hazard when training with others since he could hurt them if he wasn’t careful.
As he had finished his training he had been approached by a fellow Chuunin who had informed him that he had been selected to spar a potential Chuunin candidate in the third trial of the Chuunin exams. Senshi felt proud that he had earned the right to do something that he considered prestigious. He knew that he would have to be careful not to hurt who ever the Genin was if they were not a taijutsu specialist. He also wondered why this Genin candidate got him, Senshi, instead of the Raikage like he and Reizo had. Probably because the Genin candidate was not a taijutsu specialist and was probably much weaker than Senshi and Reizo had been when they had attempted it.
Shrugging his curious thoughts off Senshi headed towards the building that housed the Chuunin trials. Once he had entered the building he was instructed which room to head to, where he propped his sword and left all of his weapons in a sealing scroll just outside the room. He too, would be restricted to using only taijutsu techniques so he needed to leave all of his weapons outside of the room. That was only fair considering as a Chuunin he was probably stronger than whomever he was facing. Senshi proceeded to start stretching wondering if he too was being graded on this as part of his own Jounin Exams.
It wouldn’t surprise the boy for the Raikage or the Jounin Council to take such a thing into account. After all, it would be show casing his own abilities in something that he did not specialize in. Senshi decided that he would take this opportunity in order to practice some of the other C rank taijutsu techniques he had been studying as of late. The Chuunin did not have to wait long, as Hozuki Komori of all people entered the room. Just before the proctor had escorted Komori to the room a loud commotion was heard outside and a severely bleeding, bruised, and broken body of a Genin was being wheeled passed the door on a gurney.
Senshi only raised a single eyebrow as the room door slammed shut the sound of the lock being turned loud in the completely quiet room. The door then lit up as a fuuinjutsu locking seal was placed on the door to doubly ensure that the occupants couldn’t get out. The sound of speaker crackled and then the voice of an unknown Chuunin came over the system, “Chuunin Kobayashi Senshi, explain the rules to Genin Hozuki Komori and then commence the exam. Only once we have decided enough has been showed will you be allowed to exit the room.” Senshi gave a nod of acceptance before eyeing Komori up and down.
It made sense why he had been chosen now, Komori was not a taijutsu specialist, in fact he knew very few taijutsu techniques. Plus his strength was extremely low, though he was fast. Senshi was faster too, especially with his helix earing that now shown darkly in his left ear. Hoping he had made the other boy uncomfortable he finally spoke, “This is your Chuunin Exam Trial number three. It is a taijutsu only exam, meaning that you and I may use no techniques other than taijutsu. If you are caught doing so it results in an automatic disqualification, the penalty can be death in this instance.” Senshi paused staring at Komori hard for several moments before he continued.
“I enjoy you and your brothers presence Komori, please do not use any techniques other than taijutsu and force me to kill you. I would regret such an action, and I have no desire to do so.” His voice was harsh as he spoke, he genuinely did not want the Hozuki boys blood on his hands, but he was a shinobi. If he was ordered to, he would kill the boy despite the damage it would do to his relationship with Komon, whom he was beginning to see as a friend. With a light sigh Senshi spread his feet apart bringing his hands up in a defensive position. He was centered in the room, standing only a meter and a half off the back wall. It gave him room to roll and dodge to either side or even go backwards if he needed to. “You may commence the exam now, the first move I concede to you.”

Re: Path to Chuunin 3: Fight Club

Komori witnessed the bloody genin being wheeled out of his testing room and down the hall. Shit. His stomach felt as though it was trying to digest itself as anxiety crept its way into Komori’s mind. It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay, the genin would repeat to himself over and over. It was at this moment that the door slammed shut behind him and lit up to signify the all too familiar glow of a fuinjutsu lock being placed on the door to trap the two inside of the room. Shit again. Komori subtly gulped and turned to face his opponent. It was not necessarily that he was scared of Senshi, which he was, but that was not the issue. The issue was the small room that gave him very little to work with. And the sudden feeling of entrapment had left Komori feeling rather claustrophobic. However, he was determined to finish this exam. He needed to become chuunin desperately, as he had been taking forever in comparison to his brother, who, last he had heard, was nearing completion, if he had not already finished. Komori made a mental note to spend more time with his less attractive twin.
Back to the actual event unfolding before his eyes, Komori realized that he was at a massive disadvantage here. Senshi had taught him his first taijutsu techniques and even been present for his last training session with Reizo. He did not even have any sort of element of surprise, which would easily bite him in the ass. He was also not half as physically strong as his opponent either, and could not use lightning javelin to boost his strength, as it was a ninjutsu technique which were prohibited. Komori would be forced to rely on one of his weaker points. Dammit. If only he was allowed to have more C-rank level taijutsu techniques or something, but it appeared as though he had a cap to the amount of techniques that he could learn. He had reached his limit and as such, needed to further himself. However, since he paid attention to the speaker, he did not even need to win, he just needed to prove himself. This came as a relief to him, as he knew that at his current state, he could not beat the six foot seven giant that was Senshi Kobayashi. He would have to be creative about this. Maybe pull on his majestic beard hairs or something. Or maybe he should not target the beard, as he had already threatened to kill Komori and would most likely not take kindly to an assault on his facial hair. Senshi had stepped into a ready stance, which was a sign that Komori should strike first. Dammit… Again. He would have to be on the offense, which, against an experienced opponent, was just another disadvantage that he would have to face. Since they were in an enclosed area, Komori realized that dodging would be near impossible if Komori could angle his attacks properly. Komori decided to start by using Leaf Gale to perform a spinning low kick aimed at Senshi’s lower half at a meager 30 strength and basic 110 speed as an opening attack, and wait to see how Senshi would respond before furthering his assault.

Senshi watched Komori gulp, and appear to become more nervous at the kid who had probably just failed his exam. Senshi showed no true emotion on the beaten and bloody body that was wheeled past instead focusing on Komori. He knew that the boy could easily use his hydrification blood line, and avoid any true damage. He didn’t know how sturdy Komori was, so he made a note to slowly test the boy with his strength before he did anything. He didn’t want to accidentally kill him while he was trying to prove himself after all. Plus if he did that then it would give Komori more time to show case his abiltiies. Senshi knew that he was a more physically adept fighter while Komori was a more ninjutsu or chakra based type of fighter.
So he would need to focus on allowing the boy the chance to show his abilities to the proctors. Especially his ability to fight. As Komori finally moved forwards dashing at Senshi, at a rather remarkable speed, Senshi mentally gave the Genin points in his head. He had clearly been working out and increasing his speed, this would save him a lot of trouble in this exam. Deciding to let the obvious attempt at a leaf gale to connect Senshi suddenly sweat dropped as Komori’s foot connected with his right calf. Considering he had a health of forty, it would probably actually hurt Komori a little to have hit him. Senshi himself barely even felt the hit.
Blinking Senshi moved his arms at a speed of 125 to grab Komori by the shoulder and attempt to throw him backwards, with a strength of forty at the wall. His main goal was simply to force Komori to restart from his previous position. Should he manage to grab the boy and throw him Senshi would simply wait calmly for him to make another move. Should Komori find some way to dodge out of the way Senshi would attempt to punch him with a speed of 125 and a strength of 100.

Shit. Komori’s opening move had connected, but instead it had left Komori himself feeling rather sore as Senshi seemed to be unfazed by the kick. Am I really that weak? Komori’s strength was above average, although not excessively so. If he had planned on learning taijutsu or becoming proficient with weapons later on, he might have been able to at least cause a bruise. Instead, he noticed Senshi’s arms reaching forward at an alarmingly quick speed, as he was lifted and tossed towards the wall. Komori turned his body into water at a speed of 160 as he connected against the wall, which allowed him to effectively allow himself to not be harmed by the impact. Komori then reformed as he mentally prepared himself for an attack, but instead was met by Senshi in the same stance as before. Was he toying with him in front of the proctor? Or maybe he was attempting to help him somehow by not punching him into a non watery puddle. Now he would charge towards Senshi, jumping up into the air using Dynamic Entry at 120 speed and 45 strength.

Senshi could see the utter surprise in Komori’s eyes as his foot connected and then nothing happened. While it would probably look bad to the proctors that Senshi was able to withstand such a hit with no problem, it also let Komori know that holding back was not an option when it came to this exam. Senshi knew that Komori had to be stronger than that and it was time that he started showing that. While Senshi was holding back he was a proctor for this exam, it was his job to ensure that Komori got enough time to demonstrate his abilities and tactical thinking. Just wait for the moment when he would go on the offensive to see how Komori thought under pressure.
That was going to be the truly fun part, but for now Senshi was going to allow Komori to showcase all of his offensive abilities as best as he could. Senshi watched as his hands gripped Komori tight and raised him from perdition before throwing him gently at the wall. He had certainly learned at least some kind of lesson about using all of his strength and accidentally hurting someone. Senshi resisted the urge to send a bolt of lightning at the boy to prevent him from using the hydrification technique, wouldn’t that just be a surprise if it suddenly failed and Komori found himself connecting with the hard steel wall. Even laugh worthy probably.
Still taijutsu only, Senshi would just make a note to tell Komori about it late. Now as Komori suddenly jumped at Senshi he merely raised an eyebrow. Clearly Komori had not learned that taking to the air against an opponent who was stronger, faster, and more skilled was a terrible idea. So instead Senshi ducked down and initiated an attack he had been working on for awhile. All the training he had done with the logs, going into hand stands and bending around flying kunai and rocks and other such objects had prepared him for this technique. A simple C rank known as Meia Lua, that would allow him to increase his reaction time due to the way he moved.
As such with a speed of 125 he bent forwards lifting himself into the air and stirking out with his foot as he did so in order to connect with Komori’s foot with his own. His goal was to either sprain Komori’s ankle or send him flying back towards the wall. This time he increased the amount of strength he put into the technique in order to ensure that he fully canceled out Komori’s technique. Komori was in the air so he more than likely would not be able to dodge Senshi’s counter attack, unless he was magical that was. Still Senshi wasn’t trying to hurt the Genin yet, just giving him a chance to show case his offensive capabilities. Thus the strength of his kick was only 70 strength as he focused on holding back as much as possible. Komori could always hydrificate in time anyways, so Senshi wasn’t too worried about hurting him too badly.

Komori had leapt into the air and once Senshi had dodged his kick, he knew he had made a mistake. This thought was simply confirmed by the feeling of Senshi’s foot against his own. Komori responded by turning into water at a speed of 160 in order to not allow Senshi to kick him back towards the wall once more. He reformed once he had made contact with the ground at the same speed of 160. He would then launch a series of high and low kicks, using the high kicks as a feint in order to send the low kicks towards Senshi more, as he used Leaf Whirlwind. However, the problem was that Senshi had been the original one to teach him this technique, so Komori took it a step further. Expecting Senshi to recognize the technique and prepare to counter the low kicks, Komori made the low kicks feints as well before kicking towards his midriff and hopefully catching him off guard. If Komori managed to catch him off guard, Senshi would be hit with several kicks at 130 speed and 50 strength. Despite his low strength in comparison to his opponent, it was clear that Komori would have to give 110 percent in order to compete with his friend acting as an adversary. He knew that Senshi only wanted what was best for him, but he would never consider throwing a match. More importantly, Komori did not want him to. He wanted to earn it. This was his chance to prove himself to Senshi, who was now his superior. To the proctors and as a result, to the Village Hidden in the Clouds. To any others around him. To himself. He may be a bit of a narcissist but he, like everyone else, had their doubts.
If the kick did not make contact, Komori would await Senshi’s retaliation. He would activate the capability of his advanced bloodline and turn into a puddle before the punch could connect.
This would allow Komori to drop towards the ground in liquid form before reforming in a crouched position, hopefully taking Senshi by even a minor surprise despite how high his reaction time was with the unexpected positioning, as he launched a high kick aimed near Senshi’s head at a speed of 140 and a strength of 55. His previous hit had not done much, so he decided to literally kick it up a notch. Should the move connect, Senshi would be launched towards the ceiling, however high that is. If there is enough room, Komori would follow up with Dancing Leaf Shadow that would provide 25 strength and 40 speed to his follow up attack, before quickly performing Lion’s Frenzy, to use three quick hits, starting with a 360 degree spin to both build up speed and show off as he would slam the back of his forearm into Senshi’s body, once again, if it connects. Komori would then spin again and ball his right hand into a fist before punching Senshi is his stomach, as he was trying to aim for more sensitive regions than just the chest. Komori would then turn his entire body so that he slams Senshi into the ground with the back of his lower leg. All of these hits would occur at 180 speed and have a strength of 80. Komori would then land on the ground, panting slightly from the effort, as he would wait for Senshi to retaliate in a ready stance, with his feet slightly spread and his hands at the level of his eye. Of course, this is all assuming that the first kick manages to connect. This was one of, if not, Komori’s strongest moves, and was easily his strongest move at taijutsu. It was faster than almost all of his ninjutsu attacks, and he could only hope that he managed to tag Senshi further. He did not NEED to win, but that did not change the fact that he wanted to win. He wanted to prove that he was stronger than others assumed that he was. Komori quickly glanced towards the camera and winked, still breathing heavily, as he was taking this opportunity to show the proctors that he was able to work well under pressure, especially against a stronger opponent. He wanted to prove that he could handle himself in a fight and hold his ground, despite the cramped quarters and clear disadvantages. He would then wait for Senshi to go on the offensive. He had dreaded the moment that this would have happened, but he felt confident in his kekkei genkei. He just had to be careful to not rely on it too much, or else that could very well someday be his downfall. Quite frankly, he wanted to get this exam over as quickly as possible. It was taxing on him and proving to be more difficult than he thought, as he had never expected Senshi to be his opponent.

As Komori turned to a puddle the instant that Senshi’s foot came to connect with his he rose an eyebrow and then gave an annoyed grunt as he felt the water that was Komori cover his lower legs. He kept his body moving bending at what looked like an impossibly odd angle to land with his feet back on the ground and himself standing now completely in the center of the room. He had all the room to dodge or roll out of the way that anything that Komori sent at him. Not to mention that he hadn’t even done anything to really accelerate his heart rate in this fight yet. He had merely been allowing Komori the chance to do as he wished and show off his techniques to the best of his abilities.
Much like in the second trial Chuunin mission where they had to demonstrate their jutsus for the proctors. Komori then came forwards in what Senshi easily recognized as a technique that he himself had taught the Genin. The leaf whirlwind technique. He knew that even with Komori’s low overall strength that if he wasn’t careful then the boy could actually cause some damage with the leaf whirlwind. It was now time to show Komori just how useful an E rank technique could be. Senshi weighted reading the slightly telegraphed attacks that his almost, but not quite friend was sending at him.
Senshi had to admit that if he had not of been the one to teach him this then he likely would not have been as capable in seeing the minor telegraphs that Komori was giving off. But Komori had made the mistake of wanting to show off for some women, and now that was going to bite him in the ass since Senshi had seen him use these exact feights against his own clones. Hopefully Komori would remember and then remember not to ever do something like that again since it gave other shinobi a huge advantage over him. When Komori finally dedicated himself to the attack Senshi again countered it.
This time with an E rank technique, Taijutsu Disicipline. And with Senshi’s strength it was going to look like all those lovely meme’s of batman slapping robin. But instead of the face, Senshi was just going to knock the kick away from his mid section. His right hand lashed out with the slap at a speed of 135, this time using his full strength at 110 in order to hopefully knock the boy off his feet and throw him, at that lovely, lovely wall yet again. Unfortunatly it seemed that instead of connecting with his foot just as that slap was about to make connection Komori managed to drop into a puddle.
Big mistake mister Komori. As the boy reformed aiming a kick for his head in order to start the leaf rising wind, Senshi decided to up everything a notch. He had mastered the technique Raiton: Jodan. A lightning version of an uppercut, and still considered a D Rank taijutsu technique. As Komori’s foot headed for Senshi’s head, Senshi activated the lightning chakra in his fist and aimed to punch Komori in the foot instead. The Genin would be forced to try hydrificating but it probably wasn’t going to work this time. Komori’s foot was already starting to leave the ground in order to launch his high kick at Senshi.
Considering Senshi was six foot seven, Komori was again going to have to make his body leave the ground in order for his high kick to connect. Senshi reaction time of 215 allowed him to time the punch for after Komori’s foot left the ground. Since Komori couldn’t use a ninjutsu like body flicker and there was nothing to replace with he more than likely, short of a miracle, would not be capable dodging to downward Raiton: Jodan that Senshi was sending his way.
Even if he twisted his foot out of the way his upward moment of 140 speed closing with Senshi’s Raiton Jodan Punch of 155, that even if the Genin hydrificated his momentum would more than likely still run into the Raiton Jodan Punch, again barring some sort of miracle. Senshi punched with a power of 95, not wanting to kill the Genin or knock him out, but instead just wanting to stun him and make a point that his hydrification was not infallible. Considering he could have hit the boy with a 130 power, Senshi considered it being nice.

Re: Path to Chuunin 3: Fight Club

Komori had stupidly not taken into account the sheer height of his bearded opponent. Senshi towered over him at this point in time which only provided yet another disadvantage for the boy to face. Had he fought the raikage himself, he felt as though he would have been able to perform better than against an adversary who had taught the genin his first taijutsu techniques. Komori considered Senshi a friend, although he was not sure as of yet whether or not the feeling of friendship was reciprocated. Komori prided himself on being able to read people, yet Senshi was different. These thoughts flooded Komori as he did not spend time thinking on the meaning of the words, but merely occurring as a thought that he immediately had an understanding of. His kick was swatted away by an insanely powerful slap. Komori realized that he would be thrown towards the wall behind him once more, so instead he liquified and began to perform Leaf Rising Wind in a futile attempt to knock Senshi off of his feet. However, the height of this sociopath was enough to put Komori at a disadvantage once he left the ground, as he would not be able to increase his speed or any other such method of dodging by using ninjutsu, which he had not realized up until this point how much he truly relied on in order to make him even competent in a battle. At the last second, Komori managed to turn his body into water at a speed of 160 in time for the 155 speed punch to connect, however, the swift uppercut was lightning infused. Komori the puddle was forced by the stupid forces of physics to crash straight into Senshi’s rather powerful punch. This technique cancelled out his hydrification and would not allow him to liquefy for the next two posts. Komori yelled in pain, as no one had ever really exposed this weakness of his before. The force of the punch itself was enough to launch him against the wall that Senshi seemed to favor as he collapsed to the ground on his stomach, appearing to have a thin layer of smoke rising from his body. The sheer jolt of lightning that coursed through his body was enough to cause him an immense amount of pain. This was the Hozuki curse. The drawback to having his body able to turn to water at any second. Komori would then unleash his secret weapon. The kishimoto style flashback.
After he was heading home from originally learning Chakra Infusion from the now chuunin Senshi and genin Komon, seemingly forever ago, Komori had passed by the very same training grounds where he had first met his friend by the name of Senshi Kobayashi back when both of the lads were still genin and around equal power. Senshi was more than likely at the point in time where he had already began to surpass Komori as this was around the time where he had gotten immensely busy with life itself and could not focus on training. It was rather late at night, as the sun had set not too long beforehand, so the streets were mostly empty aside from the occasional pedestrian wondering about the Village Hidden in the Clouds. The genin, younger at this point in time, approached a weathered boulder that had once stood strong and proud. He recalled seeing Senshi do something to this boulder during his spar with himselves, also known as his shadow clones, back when his comrade had originally taught him taijutsu. In hindsight, he probably should have asked Senshi then and there to teach him the technique, but his damn hormones had distracted him as he proceeded to show off for a couple of passing girls. He noticed how the chipped off edges of the boulder were burnt or even crispy. Upon closer inspection, he had discovered black powder, which is usually a sign that points towards fire. However, Komori knew this was not the case, as he would have definitely noticed any fire spontaneously combusting in or around the immediate area of the rock, whether or not hot girls were present. Not to mention that fire did not necessarily have this effect on something as flame retardant as a rock. After applying some basic logic to the situation as well as knowing Senshi’s chakra element, Komori was able to infer that the rock looked as though it had been struck by lightning. The very same lightning technique that had just been used against him during his chuunin exam. Back to the present, the injured genin pushed his arms forward and forced his body to lift himself up from the ground. A small trail of blood was exiting from the left corner of the mouth of Komori.
Flashing back to Komori observing the rock once again at night, he thought back to Senshi, who he had only vaguely paid attention to at the time, and how he would sign handseals for something before his hand lit up like a bright blue Christmas tree, which bordered on being pure white. Lightning. Senshi had unintentionally shown Komori a lightning technique that was tai based. That was an area which Komori was rather lackluster in, which only furthered his desire to learn this technique. As a Hozuki, he was more susceptible to lightning based techniques, which random spars with his brother Komon had allowed him to figure out. However, this would not sway the strapping young lad, as Komori was determined to make his weakness a strength. He had already learned to hone the lightning element and channel it to his benefit, even learning a powerful technique like chidori, and he only planned to learn even more from there on out. Komori took steps backing away from the boulder as he began to attempt to recall the handseals being used. He barely remembered Senshi during the training session, but recalled him not using handseals at all. This led to Komori originally trying to simply use his own hands for the subject of chakra infusion. His fist had made contact with the stone, but to no avail, as his hand had not lit up with lightning chakra like Senshi’s had. Komori kicked the rock in frustration but only managed to stub his toe. After hopping around and saying, “Ow, ow, ow…” over and over again, the foolish boy glanced around, thankful that he was alone as he had just embarrassed himself. Luckily, the moon was out and the night owls of the village seemed to either be in their homes or prowling other areas of the major village. Instead of coddling himself any further, Komori would recall the handsigns that Senshi had used. Thankfully, he was able to remember things relatively well, like he had an eidetic memory, or at least photographic. It’s not like he could just look up whatever he wanted at any time or anything.
The tiger and dog seal were seemingly the only handseals that he would need. Then why did he remember Senshi not using any? Komori came to the conclusion that he must have mastered the technique in a similar manner that the Hozuki boy himself had done regarding the Hidden Mist jutsu. No handseals. Komori realized that he was not as proficient in taijutsu as others like Senshi as well as his twin brother Komon. Thus, he had no reason to remove the handseals required for the technique. Komori therefore just performed the Tiger and Dog seal together until he could perform them one after the other in a quick way that would let him switch between the two at his top possible speed and allow his fist to light up with lightning chakra as he would then hit the same boulder at a much weaker strength. This training had lasted for a good portion of the night and well into the next morning. Komori had continued to work on this technique until the boulder wore down to the size of a rock and even further down, closer to the size of a pebble, close to being shattered entirely and broken up. He did not have the best attention span in the world, but once he had set his mind to something, he was filled with a sense of determination. A determination to become better than he is. To make his weaknesses a strength and to be able to become powerful enough to protect himself and others.
Back to modern day Komori, Senshi would most likely be looking towards his weakened opponent. Komori’s mouth would then slowly turned into a smile as he scoffed, coughing up a slight bit of blood. This usually would have worried the boy, but at this particular point in time, he did not care at all. He finally stood up completely, still clearly in pain, as his breath was ragged and deeper than usual. He was making fierce eye contact with his opponent, as he did not plan to allow himself to be caught off guard anymore. Komori brought up his left hand to wipe away the blood from his face before taking deeper breaths and putting a foot back, getting into a ready stance, with his arms at the level of his eyes in order to better shield himself from an attack. “Thanks for doing this, Senshi. At first, I was worried about how many disadvantages I would face. But it wouldn’t matter in this shinobi world that we live in. All that really matters is our friends and loved ones that we would give our lives to protect. I’m proud to call you one of those people that I would lay down my life for.” Komori was speaking in terms of life and death, although he knew that Senshi would not kill him. Well, at least not during this exam, anyways.
Komori continued his weak smile as he then recalled the handsigns from his flashback. He quickly brought his raised hands together at a speed of 100 and signed the tiger and dog seal in order for his fist to light up with a bright blue and white spark. His fist was then coated in a layer of lightning natured chakra, albeit, much thinner than chidori. After the embarrassing shut down that he had just received from the grizzly giant of a man, the genin almost wished he could use chidori. But he reminded himself that this opponent in front of him was his friend and comrade. Komori did not even plan for the strike, pun intended, to make contact with Senshi, however, he stilled aimed towards his stomach at a speed of 130 and a strength of 50. He merely wanted Senshi and the proctors to see that, in the words of his mother, the strapping young lad was able to embrace his weakness and turn it around on the enemy. Komori darted forward towards his brother in arms with a lightning uppercut ready to strike. Should he go down, he would stare defeat in the face and laugh at it. Should the punch connect, Komori would quickly drop low to the ground, and, having learned his lesson about jumping, he would then follow up with another attempt at leaf whirlwind, performing a higher feint towards the stomach of the chuunin before following through with the true kicks aimed at his knees. Depending on whether or not this apparent last ditch attempted worked, Komori would follow up by not using any flashy moves, and merely using the moment of a fazed Senshi to place his right foot behind Senshi’s right foot and bring his palm up towards Senshi’s stomach at a curved angle while also bringing his foot back, effectively causing the leaning tower of Senshi to fall flat on his back.

Re: Path to Chuunin 3: Fight Club

Senshi blinked in slight awkwardness as his fist connected with the liquefied body of his almost friend and sent him back to Senshi’s wall, now dubbed the bane of Komori’s existence. The wall of shame. The wall of pain. Senshi really liked that wall, and he hoped that Komori didn’t bleed all over it. If he did he was totally going to have to clean it up and then shine it when they were done here. How else was Senshi supposed to have a nice pristine wall to throw people at if it was all bloody. Then people would know what he was doing and force him to pick another wall.
That was simply not an acceptable outcome. Senshi turned his head to the side slightly as Komori coughed up some blood onto the floor then seemed to get completely lost in his thoughts for several seconds. To the point where Senshi was starting to debate walking over and cub stomping the boy. But, he finally decided to come back to his senses so that Senshi didn’t have to go over there and completely end the fight in one fell, evil, dickish swoop. He would have felt bad if he ended up having to do it that way, so he was rather glad that the boy came back to his sense in time, before they could order him to end it over the speakers.
Senshi’s head tilted to the side in slight confusion as Komori spoke, but choose not to speak in response. Unless it was necessary for a delaying tactic, Senshi did not believe in speak during a battle. It was a waste of breath and would just tire you out faster than need be. So instead Senshi kept his generally silent and stoic face staring at his almost friend waiting for him to do something. What he chose to do was mimic his last attack. Senshi would have been surprised if he didn’t vividly recall not only showing Komori the technique when they had first met, and the first time he had training Komori, but also not too long ago when Komori had taught him to use the water element and they had trained with Reizo in some basic taijutsu techniques.
It seemed like Komori had been paying attention both times, which bode well for him in Senhi’s mind since it meant that he had not been wasting his time. Senshi figured the proctors would just assume that the Hozuki boy had known the technique the entire time, but he should gain points for show casing two separate elements when Genin normally only knew a single one. That was good, since Senshi didn’t want his almost friend to fail his last trial exam. He in fact wanted the Genin to move onto the Chuunin exams, and one day make Chuunin himself. Progress of Komori, meant progress for Kumogakure as a whole and that was something Senshi got behind every second of every day.
One might call it his obsession. Though that was probably too lenient of a way of putting it. Senshi watched as Komori came towards him in what appeared to be slow motion. When your reaction time was more than double what someone could form hand signs at, it made things kind of boring. When your speed was almost as fast as that person was while using the technique and you had a reaction time close to double what they were moving at, it made this exceptionally easy. When Komori was only inches from striking Senshi, who had not bothered to move just yet he gave a vicious grin and started to duck down at a speed of 125.
Since Senshi was moving before Komori struck, and before he could positbly start ducking down to begin his leaf rising wind, Senshi was going to beat him to the ground. But also instead of striking Senshi in the stomach, Komori’s fist connected solidly with Senshi’s face. His evil, maliciously smiling face. As soon as Komori’s fist connected with Senshi’s face, Senshi immediately used his self developed skill, Kaminari No Ririsu to filter the lightning chakra of the punch. A small bolt of lightning shot out of Senshi’s left shoulder and his entire upper half crackled with electricity.
Due to the strength of the attack being reduced by 10, and Senshi’s health being equal to the attack his head didn’t even waver when the fist connected. He would probably get a tiny, maybe two or three centimeter bruise from the strike. But that would take a couple hours to form if at all. Considering Senshi’s health was a forty and Komori’s was significantly less… well let’s just say that fist was probably going to be hurting from the strike. More than likely, his wrist might even be strained from it. Which would be rather amusing to the brutish, bearded Chuunin.
As Soon as Senshi hit the ground, it was time to copy a move the other boy had used and he suddenly became a blur of speed. With a speed of 165 and a Strength of 80 Senshi would aim a and uppercut kick directly towards Komori’s sternum. Since he was moving at a speed of 100 to duck this meant he would more than likely kick the boy in the face instead. Senshi’s goal, was to use the leaf rising wind technique to break Komori’s nose, maybe his cheek bone too. He did kind of have big feet so it was going to engulf the poor boys face. Since the Genin couldn’t hyrdificate for another minute or so…. Well he was more than likely screwed.
Should he some how find a way to avoid the attack, well that’d be a miracle. Should the attack hit Senshi would immediately follow the boy into the air with the Dancing Leaf Shadow technique at a speed of 125. Significantly slower than his previous attack, but that was fine since he didn’t want to beat him into the air. This was where he needed to move fast, and he immediately enacted the final part of his three step plan. The Lion’s Frenzy. He was now moving at a speed of 205 when he aimed his kick with a strength of 100 to hit Komori’s left arm, he then switched his body around bringing the opposite leg around to strike Komori’s other arm at a speed of 205 and a strength of 100. His intent you may ask? To break both of Komori’s limbs.
As they landed, Should Komori stand up or, should he somehow magically negate the Dancing Leaf Shadow and Lion’s frenzy then Senshi would use the most embarrassing technique in his arsenal of amazingness. Taijust: Aerial Strip. Prepare to be naked misted Komori Hozuki. If Komori stood up from the three pronged attack or If he dodge it then Senshi would immediately strike out with a single punch at a speed of 145 and a strength of 120, his intent with this attack to send Komori flying backwards into the wall again, stripping him of his clothing down to his whitey tighties and to break his sternum in retaliation for some how magically dodging his trump card be all end all taijutsu attack.
