Path to Chuunin (Part One)

- Mission:
- Mission Name: Path to Chuunin pt 1
Rank:B
Type:Infiltration
Character Requirements: Genin
Mission Location: Kumogakure/Amegakure
Word Count Requirements:6000 wc
Repeatable?Yes
NPC? 3 sentries
Reward:3k ryo and the ability to move on to the next mission
Task: Inside the villages there is not a training center that allows nin to hone their skills when attempting to rank up in their respective areas. Once such room is dedicated to the arts of sneaking into a restricted area and stealing information. This area is a maze of corridors and pathways that intersect and cross. This area is monitored and guarded by three sentries that protect the scroll. Your job is to infiltrate and get the scroll without being seen, the mission ends when you touch the scroll.
No harm is to befall the sentries, if you attack them, consider that mission failure. If you are seen, mission failure.
Sora inhaled a deep rush of air through his nose and exhaled it throughout his mouth. He repeated that multiple times before he jumped out of bed. The Uzumaki walked towards his dresser drawer in his room and grabbed his headband. Wrapping it around his neck, he tied the two ends together and let it hang there. He put on his regular clothes and then walked to the bathroom.
The boy saw himself in the mirror and his heart started racing. It beat from inside his chest to his eardrums and sweat was already visibly running down Sora's face in a few minutes. The boy used the same breathing technique as before to calm himself down. He wiped the sweat off of his forehead and then continued with his morning activities. He grabbed two kinds of brushes, one was his toothbrush, and the other was his hair brush. After he was done brushing his hair and teeth, he walked downstairs.
"Sora!" Roxas screamed tackling into his chest causing the air to get knocked out of his chest. Sora was used to this kind of hug because his brother always did it to him, so luckily the chocolate-brown haired boy didn't fall over once again from the tackle. Once he gained his breath back the boy smiled as he let his little brother out of his grasp and looked towards the table where food was already piled up and all the little orphans were sitting at the table eating. Sora was given a pardon to making breakfast because there was the fact that he was going to be attending the first path to becoming a Chuunin!
The piled up anxiety was getting to him. Millions of questions were running throughout his head when he thought about the B-Rank mission. His thoughts were, 'Am I strong enough?', 'Am I ready to do a B-Rank Mission?', 'How will I get past these sentinels', 'Have I been taught enough, do I still need more experience?', and a lot of other different things ran furiously throughout his mind. Senshi came into his mind and all of a sudden he was calmed down, he didn't want to disappoint his Sensei or any of his teammates. "Are you okay big bro?"
Roxas' voice brought him out of his thoughts. He smiled and nodded but the glare he got from the little bundle of energy was clear he knew he wasn't fine. Sora walked over to the table and sat down, smiling at all the children. He was too nervous to eat, but he needed the energy when he went in the maze. Sora didn't know how long it would be, or how difficult the mission may be. It was better to prepare than starve to death; and with that thought, Sora started to shove pancake, eggs, bacon, grits, sausage, and all other breakfast related items into his mouth.
The delicious taste of the food made his stomach ache go away, and some of his anxiety fade. He let out a loud belch causing everyone around him to giggle. Other kids started to burp along with him and he started to laugh. His pseudo-family always brought him into good spirits.
"Good luck Sora, we're rooting for you," His mother and father said causing the boy to jump. He chuckled a bit and scratched the back of his head, "Thanks, guys. I will try my best. Be sure to make a surprise party for when I come back!" Sora jumped out of his seat and hugged his brother, mother, and father before he ran out the door. As he ran down the street he started to assess some things that he could do to get in, and then out, without being caught by the sentinels.
Chakra Suppression and Chakra Sensory. The boy would keep his chakra down at all times, just in case there was someone who could sense his chakra, that'd be too easy. He'd sent out unnoticeable small waves of chakra to echolocate, or that's how Niran put the way Chakra Sensory worked, and gain information on the things around him to make sure which way to go and if there was anyone there.
Next, Transformation Technique and Substitution Technique! Sora could throw faster than he could run so if he just threw a kunai he could substitute with it and make sure no one saw him. It wasn't going to be used that often, or probably wasn't going to be used at all, but it was an idea. Transformation Technique is probably one of his most useful jutsu for this. Transforming into a pebble or something very small could help avoid a lot of people. All these jutsu would help him in some way.
Sora was so lost in thought he hadn't even noticed when he made it to the building until he looked up. The boy grinned as he walked in and saw the Chuunin there. The boy bowed before he spoke, "Genin, Sora Uzumaki, reporting for duty, sir. I'm here to request the first path to Chuunin mission, thank you." Sora once again bowed as he finished.
The proctor looked at him for a second; his eyes trailing down his body and back up as he examined him. It lasted for but a second before he turned around and grabbed a scroll from a cabinet and handed it to him. Sora grasped it and smiled before he bowed once again. As he reached for the door handle he was cut off, "You wouldn't happen to be Kobayashi Senshi's student? I could tell just by looking at you. When the boy was still a Genin he'd be the most polite and well-mannered boy to walk in here. Everyone would talk about him in the office and about how serious of a shinobi he was, you show the same potential. Keep it up, Uzumaki." Sora blushed and nodded as he ran out the door and towards the building where the mission would go down.
As he ran towards the direction of the building Sora wished Senshi was here. That man was his life-line, he did everything he could to please Senshi, and he didn't like disappointing him. Whenever he was disappointed Sora would be really ashamed of himself and try to fix it immediately, he constantly looked for respect and admiration from Senshi. He thought of Senshi like the older brother he never had, or at least someone that he could call related. Sure, they haven't had a bond as close as Senshi had with someone of Max or Reizo, but he still thought of Senshi greatly. One day he hoped that Senshi would just smile at him, and tell him he was really impressed.
Then there was Iesada, someone he looked up to as well. Iesada and he have only just become friends and Sora felt as if he related with the traveler the most. Komori was too annoying, Komon was too... Komon like(?), Senshi was too strict and disciplined, Reizo thought of him as a nerd, and Max... eh, Max was probably the one he got along with the most. His Genjutsu were strong, and his personality from what Sora could tell so far was calm and serene. Sora got along with him well and Iesada never called anything out on him, even when he stabbed him in the thigh with a kunai.
Then there was Max. Oh, poor, poor, Max. The boy had lost two of his limbs during an encounter against an S-Rank Missing-Nin by the name of Maku. The boy had probably been scarred for life, not to mention there was no one there to console him. Now that Sora thought about it almost everyone he knew didn't have any parents. Probably effects of the war, even though everything had happened to Max he still strived to become his best and to still stay a Shinobi. It made Sora way more determined. One, it made him determined to make sure none of his friends ended up like Max had, and two, to never give up until you can't walk or breath anymore. Scratch that, even if you're blind, deaf, mute, and crippled, keep on going ahead! Was that way too much?
The boy went head force into the brick wall and fell to the ground with a groan. "I guess I'm here," Sora muttered. He walked inside and everything was pitch black. The boy gulped, it was now time to assess the mission. As he walked in there were multiple Genin there that seemed to be working on the Chuunin Exam, they all seemed strong and confident but he guessed that it was a ruse because Sora was absolutely terrified. Soon a door opened and three people walking in who he assumed to be the proctors.
“Hello everyone!” The first man said. He was chubby with pink cheeks that seemed to be in a permanent blush which he assumed would hurt having blood there all the time. Throwing that fact to the back of his mind he greeted him as well as every other Genin in the room. He laughed before his eyes glared and suddenly the whole room turned quiet. Sora raised an eyebrow but then the world started shaking. His eyes widened as the first man started chuckling and turned off what Sora assumed was a Genjutsu and showed himself as a missing-nin. The Kumogakure headband had a cut in the middle of it causing his eyes to widen.
The boy took no time dodging a kunai that was aimed for his head. He shifted his body weight and fell to the ground in a pathetic lunge to get away from the man’s blade. The boy rolled out of the way as another proctor who was revealed to be a missing-nin as well tried to stab him on the ground. He blasted off the ground in an instant with a roundhouse kick to his head. Sora turned to see how everybody else was fairing. The boy's eyes widened and his breath caught in his throat. Everyone's blood was here, it was horrid everywhere, almost every single Genin in this building was dead except for at least six.
He felt a sharp pain in his back as a knee connected with his sending him tumbling forward. Sora pulled out a kunai from his hand and charged forward. His feet echoed in his mind causing him confusion, why the heck was he zoning out- “AGH!” Sora yelled as he fell to the ground limp; he felt blood trailing down his back as he realized he had been poisoned by a small blade. He literally couldn’t feel anything; he was just a sitting duck. His head started beating faster as he heard footsteps coming towards him.
“Nice try kid, you did pretty well but I guess you’re going to die here with no one to remember your name,” The male laughed, his scratchy voice causing his ears to hurt. Then hot, blaring, savage anger overwhelmed him. He couldn’t die here! What would Roxas do with him, he’d probably be hurt forever and never come out of their room. All of the orphans would be there alone without someone to cook them breakfast every day, or for someone to read bedtime stories, or give them love whenever they required it.
Was he really going to die here, without saying goodbye to any of his friends? Like Iesada, Komon, Max, Reizo, Niran, Komori, and most importantly to him, Kobayashi Senshi.
Senshi, his brother figure, and his sensei would be without him. The boy was cold-hearted and he would probably just forget him and get another student, but Sora wouldn’t want to leave him, all of a sudden he’d see Senshi looking down at him with a disappointed look. It would be too bright; all he could see was Senshi and white light. The boy’s mouth moved but he couldn’t hear anything, Sora raised his eyebrow causing his sensei to shake his head and start walking away. There wouldn’t be anything that Sora could to stop him; the light would get brighter as he walked farther away until he couldn’t see him anymore.
The boy lifted himself off the ground slowly while the missing-nin just watched with a smirk. The boy up blood and fell back to the ground, but still stirred his muscles to push him up. He started to growl in pain and anger as he fell once again, this time breaking his nose. The man’s laughter got even louder and he couldn’t take it anymore. The boy screamed to the heavens as if he lifted himself off the ground and rushed forward connecting his fist with the man’s face in a second. The missing-nin went flying and hit into the other side of the building.
“Die,” Sora muttered as ten chains shot from his back and aimed for the man. The missing-nin looked confused; he surely didn’t know what they were. Even though he didn’t know what they are he wasn’t stupid. He ripped his arms out of the wall and rolled to the side, by the chains followed. He growled as he started running faster towards Sora who just looked at him with a deadpan work. This technique only worked in his movies! Trying to make the projectile hit the person who sent them, but Sora just laughed as he sent his chakra chains after him faster, the missing-nin started to sweat as he continued to run faster.
He was so close to Sora when he died. The man was literally an arm’s lengths the chains buried themselves deep into his back causing blood to splatter all over Sora’s face. Sora stared at the man, his eyes wide as saucers as he realized what he had just done. Sora dissipated the chakra chains and turned around and threw up all over the ground. I won’t describe it for Akihana’s sake.
The boy wiped his mouth as he turned to see the two missing-nin against four Genin, one of them had died during his skirmish with the first missing-ninja. Sora would then stupidly charge into battle! Or he would’ve if Senshi hadn’t taught him better. He quickly turned and ran to the entrance; he had to go get help from other shinobi!
He was cut off as a Fuma Shuriken almost cut his face off into thin slices of turkey. Sora didn’t even have time to register what happened before he ducked under the woman’s leg. As he ducked she would jump up with her opposite leg and then slam her knee into Sora’s already broken nose causing him to scream out in pain. She’d then bring her other leg down so that she’d fall on top of him holding a kunai to his throat. Sora’s blush spread across his whole entire face as a certain set of, ahem, ‘assets’, were pressed against his chest.
“What’s the matter, Genin? Can’t take the heat of battle?” She said with a small smile as she trailed her finger down the side of his face. He swallowed deeply as he stared into her beautiful blue eyes, the red of her hair distracting him as it ran down her face beautifully. “Aw, you’re so cute. I could just eat you up.” She muttered as she slowly bent down and let her lips connect with Sora’s in a passionate bliss. Sora’s whole world seemed to slow down, was that a good thing or a bad thing? He couldn’t tell, her full red lips pressed against his were causing the pubescent boy to go crazy. His first kiss taken by a missing-nin and a beautiful one at that.
Then it all came to him, this was wrong in so many ways (but so right). The missing-nin was kissing him with a kunai in her hand, he knew about a ninja who would seduce others to get the kill on them. But as her tongue snaked into his mouth would it be so wrong to let this go on, and on, and on? Sora would smirk as his hands went down her side and back up. She smiled at him before her eyes constricted in pain. Two chakra chains went through her body from his hand and then traveled up through her torso and out of her head causing a shower of blood.
Sora threw the deceased girl off him with a look of absolute pain. There was more poison in his system now, and sadly this was not a numbing one. He had to get out of here quickly or die. “Help me!” A voice screamed. Sora turned to see a boy lying on the floor with a paralyzing Fuinjutsu put on him. Sora clenched his teeth, he could either save one person or get some help, but did he really need help? Sure, they were exhausted, but he defeated them both by himself. Sora groaned as he rushed towards the last one. The chubby man laughed as he started rolling towards him in a human boulder. Sora’s eyes widened as he got flattened. Luckily he substituted with a log and saw it totally crushed. The boy breathed in and out if he got hit by that he would die! Growling Sora turned to see that the man was rolling at him again and he used two chakra chains that shot out and hit the man.
He expected him to pop like a balloon, and to not actually deflect the damn chains! How was that even possible? They were made of chakra, he just needed to strengthen the chakra in the attack. The boy jumped over the ball but was surprised when he turned out of it and widened his fist to attack from a safe distance. The fist connected with literally every part of his body and sent him flying from the humungous attack. The boy hit the metal wall and fell to the ground groaning. The boy charged forward with a yell and made three clones. They all shot ten chakra chains causing the man to widen his eyes, he didn’t know which one was real or not!
Once again the chubby man started rolling and Sora narrowed his eyes. This probably wasn’t the greatest time but he wanted to learn his first A-Rank, its name was Chakra Barrier Seal. You made the Fuinjutsu seal and then the Chakra Condenses and surrounds your skin. It’s for extra defense and also the fact that it tanks a lot of hits if you have a lot of chakra. The boy went through for regular hand seals and then hit the ground with his palm. A huge chakra bubble appeared around him before it started shrinking and stayed on his skin. His clothes bypassed the chakra since it only worked on the skin of humans.
He turned into a ball and started rolling but when the first chakra chain connected it cut his skin and the armor straight through. The man yelled in pain as he turned regular again and dodged the other nine attacks. Sora was about to cheer but the man suddenly grew to the size of the building. Sora shot all of the chains again but he just grabbed them and pulled him towards the hulking figure. It was funny because Komon did the same exact thing, he had now found a way to counter it.
“Raiton: Kunai Cutter and Lightning Blade!” Sora said as the double chakra infused blade was inserted into the man’s head and it exploded in a horrible shower of gore. Then the world changed, and he was standing in front of the three that were still standing on stage. He was about to rush forward but they put their hands up to stop him.
“Genin, Sora Uzumaki, you can now take the prelim. It was all a Genjutsu and whoever died was not allowed to become a Chuunin, it was all a test, you can relax.” The chubby man said with a small smile. Sora let go of a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. The three were all fake copies of the proctors. The death was fake, his worries of dying were fake, and the freaking kiss was fake! As he considered that last thought he turned to the red-haired beauty as she winked at him causing his whole face to go as red as her hair.
“So the person who got the best results will go first. Sora Uzumaki come on the stage and enter the door to the right.” The boy's eyes widened but then he calmed down. As he walked up to the stage he realized how many people had to take the test another time, he guessed he just got the right people to train him. Cough, cough – Senshi - cough, cough. The boy strolled through the right door. Everything was pitch black dark causing his anxiety to come back. The lady walked in the door with him and his heart started beating faster. He tried not go gaze at her.
“Sora Uzumaki. To complete this test you need to get through the maze. This building has a huge metal encasing in the middle of it, you’ll have to get to the third floor and get down the metal tube safely, grab the scroll, and then escape without being caught. There will be three people on each floor, and that’s all there is to know,” She said with a smile. Sora slightly nodded still shy causing her to smirk and kiss his cheek, “Good luck, Uzumaki.”
He would’ve passed out if he wasn’t about to take the test. As he started into the maze he started jogging silently, he wanted to finish this quickly and make sure that he didn’t get caught at the same time.
"Genin, Sora Uzumaki," A voice on the loudspeaker said. Sora didn't dare say anything; it would give away his position. "Good job, you didn't fall for the bait and stayed quiet. You may now begin, and good luck, may the odds be in your favor."
As soon as the beautiful female’s voice said to begin his chakra was suppressed so no one could sense it. It was time to make a plan according to the maze and its layout. The first thing Sora would have to do was get through the pitch black maze. It would be hard to get through the maze when you had no idea where you were going and you couldn't see anything. The first thing Sora would have to do is make sure that he knows which way in the maze he went and make sure he doesn't get lost. He was going to need some sort of Mark and he already had an idea. Since it was dark in here and no one could see anything, he bet even the sentinels wouldn't be able to see, he'd put down a Mark Seal and put some of his own chakra in it so he knew that he could use Chakra Sensory later to find out in the dark.
The second problem was the dark. How were you supposed to find something in the dark? The only thing he could do was go to every inch and corner of the maze, mark it down, and then leave and come back another day. He had a whole week to finish this so he could take it section by section. Sora swallowed as he thought about what would happen if he got caught, the obvious answer was he'd have to start over, but Senshi would be disappointed in him, and he didn't want that.
He guessed it was time to start. The boy crouched down low and started walking slowly. He had to make sure to not make any sounds with his steps, or else it'd be over as quickly as it started. No bodily sounds, no cracking of your bones, and no yawning! No matter what, don't yawn. He would've cleared his throat to get his mind back on track, but Path to Chuunin, remember?
Sora was heavily relying on his sense of direction and memory, as he went down the first lane he had to push his hands in front of his body and feel everything around him, there were three different turns. One was at a diagonal angle, then the other two were left and right. Sora nodded to himself as he quickly put the Mark Seal on the wall he was by and added chakra to it before continuing.
His palms were sweaty and his breathing increased as he heard footsteps in the way he was walking. The boy was about to panic, his breath caught in his throat, but he instantly used Chakra Suppression causing a gasp from another direction and used Chakra Sensory to identify what was around him.
The figure on the path in front of him was looking around for the gasp that escaped the other figures throat who had been tracking him with chakra. There was only one way which was right, or else he'd be caught in the middle of both of them.
"Was that the shinobi who is participating in the exams, or was that just you Kishi," He'd say as he started walking Sora's way. The male, who identified was a male by his voice, didn't seem him, but he'd definitely find him if he didn't move! The boy took no time to hide his presence as he darted forward and then to the right, he could feel the air around him disturb as the man's hand missed Sora's collar by an inch.
Thank god this whole room was dark! Sora would've already failed if others could see. The boy crawled around on his knees, keeping Chakra Sensory and Chakra Suppression on. There were ten proctors, and from what he could tell, five floors. Two proctors were on each floor, and each floor Sora would go up would get harder, but of course he hadn't known that. He still had to make it to a staircase or ladder to get to the next level.
The boy placed many Mark Seals down and then added chakra to them before his eyes widened and his heart almost stopped. If he put chakra into the Mark Seals then the person with their Chakra Sensory skill would be able to track him down! He instantly released all Fuinjutsu he created and continued on with a grimace on his face.
Sora was absolutely screwed. He had no way to know where he was going, nor did he know how to track of where he was at so he could get lost easily, not to mention he didn't know anything about this building or anything in them. As he continued in the early silence he shivered, was it creepy in here or was it just him? There was no sound at all, he had to pinch himself to make sure he wasn't in a Genjutsu.
The boy would continue walking, the crouching hurting his rather large legs, so he'd stand up at most times and continue. He hit his head hard against metal when he stood up and fell backward with grace. His hands reached out behind him and kept his body from hitting the floor while he bit his lip to hold in the scream of pain. He slowly got back up to look at the trouble he was facing. It seemed as it was a small tunnel, but was it really a smart idea to go in there. He couldn’t sense anyone’s chakra in there so he decided to go for the benefit of the doubt. He crouched on the ground and started crawling through the tunnel. He didn’t know what was on the other side so he had to be prepared for anything, or maybe he was just being paranoid. As he went through all of a sudden he started falling and used Tree Walking/Water Walking to stick to the wall, it was so fast he didn’t even know what happened but somebody might know he’s here. He quickly got up and ran through the maze, he heard footsteps coming quickly this way.
“My trap went off! The brat is somewhere nearby unless one of you idiots triggered it!” The man said with a snarl. Sora started using his breathing technique to calm down until he heard the footsteps coming towards him. He didn’t waste any time running through the maze again. “The kid is getting away, where the hell are you guys, get him!” Sora was running as fast as he could, he didn’t care about making any noise, he couldn’t stop to catch his breath or else he was going to get caught and not be able to become a Chuunin, dear god he needed to become a Chuunin so he could be just like his friends, he didn’t want to lag behind anymore!
The boy made a clone and rolled to the side going in a completely different direction. As he turned around to keep running there was a wall, he was trapped! Sora used his Chakra Sensory to see the man walking this way. He crouched down as low as he could and stopped breathing, he suppressed his chakra so far to where it almost hurt him. He wasn’t going to fail now!
The man turned the way where real Sora was and looked around. There was nobody there, he even used a flashlight to see in the dark. He shrugged and started running the other way. As he ran the other way Sora fell from the ceiling and hit the ground without any grace. The boy coughed and spit up as he had been holding his breath as long as he could. He had done it! The man hadn’t caught him so he started to stand up and run straight and not go where that rude proctor went, why would anyone in their right mind go to their failure? He hadn’t known how long it had been, but he was pretty sure it had been exactly an hour. He was tired, thirsty, and hungry, but he couldn’t stop till it was over, that was his ninja way!
He sat down to catch a breath and decided to just listen for a second. He hadn’t heard any children’s laughter or cries outside the building, all he could hear were the chirps of crickets. So it was night time then. It seemed as if a few hours have passed since he started the preliminary. This building was made and full of metal, all of it was dark metal to provide the darkness with an ally. He assumed it was hard for the proctors to see too, it’s hard for anyone to see in the dark. All of a sudden an idea came to him and he went with it. The boy ran up the wall and then on the roof using Tree Walking/Water Walking and started running on the ceiling. Chakra Sensory was next on his list of plans as he found out where all three proctors were and tricked them by making three clones fall into the maze and run anywhere. Then he finally found the place to go, the staircase to the next floor! He didn’t waste any time getting there and as soon as he did the lights turned on.
“Sora Uzumaki passed the first floor!” The red-haired voice came on the speaker causing him to blush and smile. Profanity came from the three that were trying to catch him causing the boy to smirk and put up two fingers in a peace sign. He ran up the stairs and made sure to not even waste a second running. It seemed these people knew Chakra Sensory which unnerved him, he would never know where they are, so he just suppressed his Chakra and went along with it.
The boy already had a plan before he came up here. The boy ran up the wall once again and this time he starting doing hand seals, “Great Fireball Jutsu!” He screamed bursting through the roof and jumping to the third floor in all of its flaming glory.
“What the hell? Is that even allowed?” The aggressive man said.
“He should be disqualified!” The hysterical lady said.
“FUKING HAX!” The crazy man said.
Sora just smiled as he continued to the third floor. “Genin, Sora Uzumaki, has made it to the third floor!” The beauty said in a surprised voice causing Sora to lightly celebrate, he had awed the woman. All of a sudden he felt a fatigue and instantly tried to suppress his chakra. When he found out he couldn’t all hell broke loose. The boy started running, three sets of footsteps were coming after him. Dead end once again. He used his previous trick and ran up the wall and ceiling as the confused proctors turned the corner. He dropped down when he was out of the way and started running again towards the middle.
He was going to take this slow and carefully but when there is a room you literally can’t sneak in, when this is a sneaking exam, was totally not fair! But there was no time to whine now, they were faster than him and were already gaining speed. The boy jumped and rolled as he found the metal opening. It was a rectangular cylinder that went straight down, but sadly he couldn’t see how far down it was. The boy gulped and jumped, not even wasting any time while he did so.
He was going so fast and so far down that the wind around him was being disturbed. “I need to get to the side of the wall!” Sora said to himself as he tried swimming in the air. The boy was planning on Tree Walking/ Water Walking on the metal surface but he hadn’t known how hard that was going to be. Like he had said before when trying to use Chakra Infusion, chakra has no place in metal, it never has! Chakra is everything, in life and the water they drink every day, but ores smelted into metal is man-made, it’s too dense to keep chakra. That was why Sora was having such a hard time trying not to die.
“Crap, crap, crap!” Sora screamed as he saw the floor getting closer. He could’ve even stick his chakra to the metal as he was moving too fast. The first prelim was the one with the lowest death rate, if he died here it would’ve been the most embarrassing thing ever. So with living in his mind chakra chains shot out of his feet and hit the ground causing his descent to stop. Still, the recoil of the sudden chakra chains literally caused his legs to shatter.
“AGH!” Sora screamed as the chakra chains disappeared and he fell the rest of the way. There was the scroll on a pedestal covered in a glass box. He was crawling forward now, trying to get there and get this horrible mission over with already. If he couldn’t do this pathetic prelim then he wouldn’t be able to finish any of the other Chuunin missions as well.
He reached up and touched his hand to the glass. He sent a small bolt of lightning from his hand and the glass exploded before he grabbed the scroll. The chains lifted him out of the huge metal contraption of doom and quickly carried him out to the proctors he greeted at the beginning.
"Good job Sora Uzumaki, you're now allowed to go on to the second exam, son." The chubby man said with one of his warm smiles. The lady walked up to Sora and winked at him once again, and even though he was hurt he still blushed crazily, "Great going out there kid, who thought to break through the ceiling?" She kissed his cheek again causing him to pass out, he had finished the exam so it hadn't mattered.
Later the boy woke up in the hospital, his eyes dry and his ears ringing. The boy got out of bed and looked in the mirror with a smile, he had finally done it.
