Task: Inside the villages there is not a training center that allows nin to hone their skills when attempting to rank up in their respective areas. Once such room is dedicated to the arts of assassination. Inside a 30x30 room filled with multiple rooms and various hallways is designed another maze like structure. Inside some of the rooms and hallways are convicted criminals awaiting execution. They are here to kill you and you to kill them. If you can do this qietly without being seen or heard the better. There are 5 men all together each a trained ninja, if one is heard being attacked the others just might come running to help. If they kill you they get a pardon, if you kill them..well you help out your village.
(Each ninja will have your stat amount +75 to make up for buffs and things you might use)
You can be killed in this section if the proctors don't deem you worthy of continuing and you are defeated by the ninja. However the prisoners are equipped with collars that will detonate if the proctors want to save your life.
Reizo woke up to the quiet chirping of the robins outside his window. It was only 7 in the morning, but the Genin was excited to finally get on with his 2nd chuunin exam. He had been through a lot in the past few weeks, some of which had crucially delayed his examinations. He had been tortured, beaten, and put in a coma. He'd trained even harder to ensure he wouldn't have to go through such terror in the future, but even now he knew he would still prove to be no match for the strongest shinobi. For now though, Reizo would have to at least prove he was capable of being a Chuunin. He felt he was more than capable of handling many difficult situations, and he knew that if his leadership was put to the test that he would prove to be an exceptional leader.
Reizo had narrowly passed the last two trials. The 3rd trial had tested his teamwork and hand to hand combat alongside his teammate Senshi, who has since promoted. The 1st exam Reizo had nearly flunked. Although the conclusions the genjutsu had led him to believe were sound, the initial premise for the genjutsu was extremely worrying for the Raikage, who felt that he might be prone to sedition or treason. Still, the Raikage gave his personal approval and thus Reizo was permitted to advance to this test, the 2nd overall in the Chuunin Exams. It wasn't the only time Mortarion had given his personal approval to Reizo to allow him to advance either. In the 2nd trial, Reizo had taken a bit too much time figuring out which jutsu to use for the Raikage's liking, but the quality of the jutsu showed off was enough to warrant the pass.
Now Reizo was set to tackle arguably the most important test in his young shinobi life. After showering and getting dressed in his fresh dark plum jacket over his black tank with his clan symbol emblazoned on the front, Reizo would grab his tanto and equipment off his nightstand. He discovered upon reaching the kitchen that his mom had already prepared a hearty breakfast of eggs and rice which he shoveled down in seconds. His mom would wish him luck as Reizo exited his home and headed to the exam site. He knew that this exam would be heavily combat oriented, but it didn't faze Reizo at all. He lived for a challenge, and he never felt like he was ever particularly worried about combat, despite how fragile life was. He knew that he could die in combat at any given moment, but for some reason that comforted him. Putting so much on the line meant that he would truly have to prove himself each and every time he fought. He would always have to prove his skill to himself, and that's really all that he cared about. That he was good enough in his own eyes. Even in the event he were to fail this exam, if he felt he had done his best he would eventually come to terms with it despite the initial disappointment.
He would arrive at the exam site at 10 minutes before 8 am. After examining the generic building for a short while, its huge number 5 painted on the front of it to designate it as the 5th site for this exam, the blonde haired Genin would inhale deeply and enter. Reizo gathered himself mentally, collecting his thoughts and bracing himself for the incoming bloodbath he was certain lied ahead. He really wasn't a fan of killing, but this was one of those rare situations where it was kill or be killed, and so Reizo put his mind at peace with that. In the future he'd likely have to kill to protect the village too, so he figured he'd have to come to terms with it eventually.
Upon entering, Reizo was greeted by a Jounin exam proctor whom he had never seen before. There were no introductions, just straight up orders. This type of structure and discipline Reizo actually loved. There was no time for niceties, just immediately down to business.
"Reizo Shoyu, congratulations on making it this far, it's truly quite a feat," the Jounin would begin. "You, along with a few others, have been selected out of a pool of over 200 Genin to advance to this stage. This exam, I should warn you, is by far the deadliest and riskiest. Of those that make it this far, only 20% survive, and far fewer pass to make it to the final stages of the Chuunin Exams. Before you take this exam, I have to ask you to provide some introspection. Make sure that you feel completely confident in your abilities before you step through those double doors behind me. Do you still wish to continue? I'll begin your debriefing should you accept these conditions," the Jounin proposed.
Reizo had already decided before he got to the exam site. He knew that the only way to make his dreams a reality were to take this exam head on. He regretted not informing his mother of the exact situation that this exam risked, but he also didn't want her to worry too much. If he had told her, she would've never let him take the exam. Nodding in confirmation, Reizo would confidently give his response. "I, Reizo Shoyu, accept these conditions. There's no way I'm going to fail," he would say, somewhat sternly. Had this been the Reizo from even 3 weeks ago, he would've been far more chipper and enthusiastic about the opportunity to take this exam, but the harsh realities of his weakness had sobered him. He had become far more stern and serious- one could say he had become even more mature as a shinobi, more accurately fitting the expectations for a Chuunin.
"Very well then, Reizo. Through those doors, is a 30x30 room filled with multiple rooms and various hallways, somewhat similar to your first trial. Inside some of these rooms and hallways are convicted criminals on death's row. They are here to kill you and you must kill them. If you can do this without being seen or heard, it's recommended you do so. There are 5 altogether, each a trained ninja, and so if one is heard being attacked the others just might come running to help. Their motivation is a blanket pardon should they kill you. These are the scum of the Earth - treasonous pigs, the most violent of criminals, and prisoners of war. You'd do well to be of great service to your village and rid it of these dregs. Once you enter through those doors, there's no turning back. Only once you have killed all 5 will you be informed and be allowed to exit. Good luck. I recommend trying to take them one by one," he would say, standing aside so that Reizo could proceed through the double doors.
Reizo would nod and immediately suppress his chakra and send a quick pulse to scan the room for anyone inside, but wasn't surprised when he couldn't sense anything. These were all highly trained ninja after all. Opening both doors simultaneously, he chakra still suppressed, Reizo would enter the maze that would shape his destiny.

The doors would slam shut with a loud bang behind the prospective Chuunin, lighting up in a brilliant blue of chakra and a loud click resounding as the lock was placed. Reizo would now know that he was trapped within the building till either death claimed him or he managed to slaughter the foes that awaited him. Upon entering through the double doors Reizo would be greeted with a long hallway, the ceilings slightly sloped and low compared to a normal building. Only six feet up in the air, however as Reizo would move down the hallway the ceiling would gradually begin to raise.
Small shafts could be seen on the sides of the walls, a fresh breath of cool air coming out of them. Reizo’s chakra sensory would begin to ping off, alerting him to three chakra signatures, each greater than the last. As Reizo continued down the hall way he would be encountered with his first obstacle. A trip wire, strewn across the ground right where a t-intersection in the hallway. Reizo would need to navigate past the trip wire, and choose if he was going to go right or left. His chakra sensory would let him know that two of the signatures were to the left and a the final one to the right.
The closer Reizo came to the intersection, the colder the air would begin to feel. Echoing out of one of the air vents Reizo would hear a high pitched, womanly voice. Hauntingly familiar to his own Genjutus exam, the voice would sound as it sang to itself. The words just barely able to be made out by the Genin, “And the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.” Should Reizo take the time to observe the trap he would not that if he jumped too high over it, there were two well placed and concealed explosive tags right in the very corners of the hall. It would be extremely difficult to see them. How will you proceed?

Re: Reizo Chuunin Exam 2

The door would slam shut, locking Reizo into his decision. It seemed a bit dramatic, but it provided concrete evidence that there was no going back. Reizo would walk down the long hallway before him. The room seemed a lot bigger than he had expected. He didn't realize just how high the ceiling had gone. In fact, it seemed to get 10 feet higher as he walked down the hall. He would swing his head back and forth, glancing left and right to examine the walls for any traps. His training with Senshi had taught him to always be on the lookout for potential traps. This exam was likely to be crawling with various traps. Reizo would give a quick glance over his shoulder to look behind him, but didn't see anyone trying to jump him.
The Taijutsu specialist would soon reach the end of the hall, finding himself at his first crossroads. Three chakra signatures were apparent to him; two were clearly emanating from his left, while one was coming from his right. It felt a bit colder since he had walked in, but Reizo didn't mind it. He expected them to have some form of AC as there would be quite a bit of fighting going on. A chill ran up Reizo's spine when he heard the breathless voice of a woman that seemed to come from nowhere. It reminded Reizo of the same woman he had not only seen once executed with his teammates, but also executed again in his genjutsu exam. Despite the trauma he had once associated with the voice, the genjutsu exam had pushed him through this experience and now he had all but completely outgrown the horrible feelings. He wasn't going to let this woman impede his progress any longer.
He had his first major decision of the exam before him; does he attempt to fight the two souls to his left early on, or does he fight the some what stronger signature to his right first? Thinking about it, Reizo concluded that he should tackle the single target first. This enemy might prove difficult to tackle without all of his energy, and a the same time he probably wouldn't be as exhausting to fight against as two enemies simultaneously would be. Ensuring his chakra was still suppressed, Reizo decided to turn right and head toward the single chakra signal. It's true, there could in fact be 3 enemies lying in wait there, two of whom simply had their chakra suppressed, but the same could be said about the other path with having four. Either way, there were likely to be traps.
Speaking of which, as Reizo was about to turn the corner, he barely managed to stop himself from stepping on a nearly invisible tripwire. Although he couldn't discern what would happen should he trigger the trap, he could see that the intention of the trap was likely to make him jump over whatever it triggered. Up above were explosive traps designed to catch someone who wasn't quite ready to react correctly to the first trap and panic jumped. Reizo thanked Senshi under his breath for that long game of capture the flag where he had learned of all sorts of traps and how to trigger and avoid triggering them. Without such training, he certainly would not have been aware enough to spot this trap in the first place. Cautiously stepping over the trip wire, Reizo would proceed down the right hallway, his hand on his tanto just in case something were to spring up on him.

As Reizo would move to step over the trip wire, he would continue on for several seconds safe until suddenly the haunting voice that had been singing earlier increased in pitch and from behind Reizo he would hear the trip wire snap audibly. No kunai or shuriken were sent at the boy however instead what looked to be an odd puppet dressed as a grim reaper would come crashing down from the sealing, swinging awkwardly from the noose around its neck. A haunting cackle would escape from the grim reapers neck, before its mouth would move awkwardly, clearly not sinked up with the words it was speaking.
“Did I scare yah? Well did I?” The voice was high pitched and childish, the gender of it unable to be determined just yet. The puppets odd spindly arms would reach up, with its oddly built scythe and cut the wire that held its neck at an odd angle. The reaper, creature crashed to the floor in a pile of clothing before standing up slowly. Reizo wouldn’t be able to sense the chakra that the puppeteer was clearly using to control the puppet but since he could see ten meters in either direction down the hall he could easily surmised that either the puppeteer was around the corner in the direction to the left, or sitting somewhere up in the ceiling.
“How do you want to be killed?” The puppets words sounded haunting an echoy in the long cooridors. It seemed that whomever was in charge of the AC system had decided to up the ante and the temperature in the hallway dropped a sudden twenty degrees, the sound of the air blowing increasing in intensity until the woman who was singing Itsy Bitsy Spider was drowned out. “I personally like playing with the intestines of my foes…. Maybe they’ll taste like gum?” The reaper puppet turned its head to the side questioningly before pulling its arms back and charging towards Reizo at a speed of 30, it would attempt to make a slice at the blonde haired Genin with a strength of 50, sharpness of 100, and speed of 60.

Re: Reizo Chuunin Exam 2

The voice would get louder and squeaker as Reizo continued down the right hall only to suddenly be cut off by the sound of a trip wire snapping. Reizo cocked his head back to where he had came from as clearly something else had set off the trip wire that he had so dutifully tip toed around. To his surprise, no weapons were fired. Instead, a puppet much like the ones Max used fell from the ceiling. It seemed to mimic the appearance of a grim reaper, but its size made it seem more cute than threatening. It reminded Reizo a lot of Napa, and he almost felt bad for having to cut it down. He couldn't see who was controlling the puppet, but it didn't really matter to the Genin; it'd be a trivial matter to find out where they were hiding.
The temperature dropped, but in the heat of battle Reizo barely noticed a change. He formed five hand seals: Boar → Ram → Snake → Horse → Dragon (speed 100) and easily ducked and dodged the puppet's attack. Reizo would shove his hand straight through its gizzards, dismantling and shattering the puppet as though it were nothing (speed 100, strength 80). His jutsu would then take effect, lightning glowing through his hand and then around the puppet. It would course through the puppet, rendering any electronics and metal rather unresponsive and continue to conduct through the chakra wires, or so Reizo hoped, to reach the puppeteer, regardless of his or her location (speed 25, power 25). It wouldn't really matter if he or she were effected by the lightning itself. The main purpose of the lightning was to lead Reizo to her location. Wherever the puppeteer was, Reizo would rush over to them to finish the job. He wouldn't waste anytime on this wretch of a human being and simply cut him or her down with one swift swing of his tanto (115 sharpness, 140 speed). It would be somewhat disturbing should this person be a child as their voice suggested, but he knew that even a child could be a rather dangerous threat to the village, especially a puppeteer. Max made that very apparent. For most, killing a child would be especially traumatizing, but Reizo was still young enough that such a thing wouldn't be all that different from killing an adult.
Knowing he had basically revealed his location by using chakra, the Taijutsu Specialist would immediately resuppress his chakra, sending out a quick pulse of his own chakra to see if the other prisoners would respond to his chakra usage. He knew he would have to move and leave the area as soon as possible to avoid the incoming attack from likely multiple prisoners.

Re: Reizo Chuunin Exam 2

“Too bad so sad, I really like Grimy.” The childish voice of the puppeteer would echo out as Reizo completely annihilated the poor little grim reaper puppet. Like seriously, that was over kill. This puppeteer wasn’t to be easily dissuaded however, and he recognized the hand signs for what they were from his location in the ceiling. Still Reizo had made a very grievious error, he had forgotten about the explosive tags up in the ceiling. The child like puppeteer formed a single hand sign as Reizo attempted to some how rush to his location in the ceiling. A single hand sign that turned him into a speedy little demon from hell.
The ram seal. Say bye, bye Mr. Shoyu Reizo as the body flicker was activated and the puppeteer accelerated moving at a speed of two hundred from his location in the ceiling so that he was standing at the end of the right hall way. “I really wanted to make an omelet out of your brains too. Oh well, at least this way you’ll be deep fried.” The puppeteer then formed a seal at a speed of one hundred and set off both explosive tags. He was so nice he even made sure that Reizo was standing in the center of the corridor when he did it. As soon as the explosions went off, the eight year, green hair, red eyed, cannibalistic puppeteer immediately began laughing.
If Reizo should escape the blast of the exploding tags he would send the chakra signature of one of the people from the left hall way beginning to move towards him. It was a slow movement, and the chakra from the person was rather weak as it separated from the other signature that had been near it. Reizo would undoubtedly feel a feeling of impending doom at the chakra signatures approach. Maybe Reizo shouldn’t be so happy that Senshi had recommended him as being better suited to be a Chuunin. Things were about to get iffy for our blonde haired Genin hero.

Re: Reizo Chuunin Exam 2
Sat Feb 25, 2017 12:23 am
Reizo would follow the trail of lightning to the ceiling, but as soon as he got up there, the puppeteer had already fled. She was rather annoying. Not only was she obnoxious and hard to listen to, she was fast and stubborn. Reizo planned to descend on top of the child puppeteer, but he soon felt dread overcome him as he remembered those two explosive tags from the trap earlier. If he had set off the trip wire... did that mean that those explosive tags were his's too? Reizo weaved the handsigns for the Substitution Jutsu (100) just as the explosions had gone off (presumably at 50 speed since that's what the standard explosive tag goes off at). In Reizo's place, the remains of the puppet (aside from the scythe which remained unattached on the ground) would be blown apart in the ceiling. Reizo would appear on the ground, the scythe beside him.
It was unusual for Reizo to get so angry over someone that should've been so innocent. This kid really ticked Reizo off. He never let his emotions overcome his reasoning, but he really couldn't stand this child. Clearly being raised in prison had fucked with this kid's growth and he had never matured. The kid certainly needed some discipline, but unfortunately Reizo couldn't provide that, and no one would ever be able to provide it for this child that so desperately needed it. Reizo didn't really know what this kid had done to deserve to be put on death's row, and Reizo recalled how Kumo treated traitors, even if they were working on behalf of children. He would almost regret having to kill someone so young who still could probably have their life turned around, but at least Reizo could grant this kid a swift and relatively painless death, unlike what the Executioner Taios would probably give. Reizo began to see this as an opportunity to grant these prisoners clemency. They could be brutally slaughtered, but instead he'll take them out nice and quick.
Drawing a kunai from his weapon's pouch, Reizo would toss the kunai up and perform a quick spinning kick to propel it at virtually unreactable speeds toward the obnoxious brat (160 speed, 110 sharpness). This would be true mercy, as horrible as it felt to Reizo. It perturbed Reizo that he was basically normalizing his killings, but the truth was that these were not unjustified murders, but rather carrying out a dirty job for his village that otherwise would've resulted in horrible torture for these prisoners. The kunai would blossom from the child's face, right between his eyes, should it all go according to plan, silencing his strident giggle and ending his life immediately.
The fast approaching chakra signature from down the hall (the initial left turn of the first hallway) felt somewhat weak, but extremely ominous and foreboding. The blonde haired Genin knew this person would be quite the challenge. Reizo picked up the scythe by his right foot, believing it could prove to be quite the suitable weapon for any opponent. It was far sharper than any weapons he had in his arsenal. Reizo crouched halfway, his eyes fixated down the hallway, waiting for the first signs of an enemy. His chakra suppressed and sending out pulses to sense nearby chakra, Reizo was prepared for this upcoming prisoner.

What a gruesome end that was. The kunai would smash into the childs head sending blood and brain matter flying every where. The wall he was standing on would have several small pieces of the childs brain dripping off of it slowly onto the floor. One piece was even sliding, ever so slowly to the ground and odd bright pink color. Who knew brains looked quite like that. The laughter the boy child had been uttering was cut off in a sudden whoosh of silence. The only thing left to be heard for several seconds were the sounds of the child connecting with the floor.
It seemed that the chakra an energy in the childs muscles allowed him to utter one final statement before he died completely, “I just wanted to eat you.” The words would fade off into the chill of the hall way. The proctor seeming to think that cranking up the chill would be a good idea, as Reizo would hear the foot steps of his next foe approaching the temperature would drop in the negatives. Frost was quickly appearing on the walls, as the deep booming foot steps of the impending goliath approached. Around the corner, the speedy figure of two foot, seven inch midgit appeared.
The midgits head was significantly larger than its body, and its arms and legs looked oddly with its tiny little body. The wind span of the midgit was over four feet, so her arms almost dragged on the ground. She had a large smattering of thick red hair that engulfed her entire body, even having what one would refer to as a five o clock shadow on her face and very magnificent mustache. She reached up as she came to a halt eyeing the blonde haired Genin and stroking her mustache in thought, the explosive collar on her neck gleaming the dim lighting.
“Killed the Cannible Monster eh? Can’t blame yeh for that boy-o, but I aint goin’ down suh easy.” The midgit smiled, revealing a row of severally rotted and yellowed teeth to the Genin before her. If Reizo got to close her noxious stench may cause him to puke. “Whelp, let’s get to it weetle Genin. I did need some new bones to pick mah teeth with.” She moved placing herself in what Reizo would be easily able to see as an advanced Taijutsu form. She looked ready to fight and the muscles on her arms and legs tensed as she waited for Reizo to make the first move. The mysterious proctor suddenly dimmed the lights further making it so neither the prisoner nor Reizo could see more than five feet in front of themselves.

Re: Reizo Chuunin Exam 2

A bizarre creature had appeared from the depths of the corridor. The first thoughts Reizo had upon seeing this multigendered yet agendered abomination was 1. Gross, 2. It needs a shower, and 3. I'm going to send it back to whatever crypt in hell it crawled out of. Reizo glanced at the scythe in his right hand and flipped it nonchalantly. He wasn't going to let this cretin force a close combat situation just like that. Reizo sought to put all of his strength into this throw. It was apparent that this fiend was more advanced and experienced in Taijutsu than even Reizo himself was, and so he didn't want to engage it at all if he could avoid it. Reizo recalled Senshi's 200 speed kunai throw at Maku and wanted to see if he could break such land speed records.
Reizo's eyes would narrow much like a hawk's would when it spies its prey. While the freaky deaky hairy mole-mop hybrid would ramble about how hard it would be to defeat her, Reizo had already determined a course of action. Flipping in the air, Reizo would put all of his body-weight and force into the scythe as he launched it straight at the demon spawn's chest, dead center of her body mass (205 speed, 182 sharpness). The lights would dim as the scythe flew from Reizo's hand, so he wouldn't be too sure if his attack connected, but unless the thing were Maku himself, there was no way any mortal would be able to react in time to avoid it. Hopefully there would be a shriek or a cry of agony to signify a mortal wound.
It felt somewhat cowardly to Reizo that he had decided on such a long ranged course of action when it was clear that this thing wanted to fight honorably in hand to hand combat, and it certainly stung Reizo's pride and honor. Still, no one was around to judge his honor, he was to be judged on how he acted in a 1 v 5 assassination situation. He'd have to shelve his pride if he was going to make it out of this labyrinth alive.
Oh, and the temperature dropped pretty drastically. Reizo would've seen his breath had the light not been so dim that he couldn't really see much at all. Reizo rubbed his upper arms to try to keep warm. It was making him reconsider his jacket design. Why did he wear a jacket that had short sleeves? Why not just wear a vest at that point? It seriously wasn't the most well thought out design. Reizo kept his chakra suppressed and sent out another pulse of chakra to see if he could sense any other prisoners. He would glance in all directions including above at the ceiling and down at the ground in case someone was trying to catch him by surprise in the dark. He couldn't see very far, so it wouldn't really help all that much, but it did put Reizo at ease when he checked behind him. He really hated surprises, and this exam was full of them.

Well that was anticlimactic. If Reizo wanted an easy knowledge of knowing whether he had actually hit the super freaky deaky midgit then he was gonna have to just get off his lazy laurels and go check. What he would hear however after throwing the scythe as a loud squelch and shattering sound as the scythe connected with the wall and then broke under the strain of being thrown at such speeds. That scythe was gone, broken to smithereens and completely useless from here on out. The temperature and lights would remain low, the frost slowly creeping along the walls. Would Reizo go check on what damage he had caused to the midgit, or would he continue on his original path, where the dead body of a puppeteer lay, a creepy singing lady could just be barely heard through the air vents, and a single chakra signature glowed in his mind. Or he could go the direction of the midgit towards the strong chakra signature that was there.
