Kenji's Genin Exams

Today. Kenji had to admit, was slightly better than the others. Because today, he would be taking the Genin exams and the only thing that could make today better was if he passed. If that happened, then today would be perfect. As usual, Kenji was on his heat inducing set of clothing which consisted of a long sleeved hood over a closed high collar tee shirt. A pair of black finger less leather gloves to go with his ankle length trousers and ninja sandals. Last but not least a pair of orange lens goggles, dangling from his neck. Clothing choices like this made people wonder what he wore when it was cold or less warm in the case of Sunagakure.

Kenji stepped forward, "Goka Kenji," he introduced himself, "I'm here for the Genin exams," he paused. "And I'm very well prepared."

With that, he took his seat, waiting for his name to be called.

Faith Akari was currently in a classroom, listening to someone else do their genin exams, seriously, why was she sitting in this room right now? There were a bunch of others that would be better fitted to the role of an instructor. As the boy she was working with finished his exam, Faith would say, “Serriously? You actualy think that that was a good enough jutsu to pass the exam? Failure! You need to go do more training, come back in a few months, and we will reevaluate.” Faith would then send the boy out of the room.
She would then call the next student in, and another young boy would come in, and the Akari would ask, “Name?”

The boy would respond, "Goka Kenji,"He would state, "I'm here for the Genin exams, And I'm very well prepared."

The Akari would look at the boy, and say “I would hope so, otherwise you will be a waste of my time, now solider, preform the transformation technique along with the clone technique. Also, state what each technique is useful for. You may begain whenever you are ready.

It was the first thing that came to Kenji's as he watched the lady casually crush the dreams of an aspiring genin. The way she spoke was enough to make anyone discouraged but Kenji remained indifferent and very much confident, he was absolutely prepared, if this test was a nail and hammer then he was a carpenter.

He stepped forward and walked past the lady and made sure to avoid eye contact. He didn't want anything or anybody to unnerve him at that very moment. It was a very important moment and he did not want to mess up. He took deep breaths to calm himself, not only did the lady ask him to perform the technique but she also asked him to explain what the technique is useful for. Something he was not prepared for but he could improvise, although Kenji would never have thought he'd need to speak in other to pass.

Kenji pulled up his goggles, the classroom and proctor gained an orange tint. He revised the techniques in his mind as he remembered everything with relative ease, including what Ryu had taught.

Kenji built up chakra for the first technique, the easy one; the clone technique. Once that was done, he proceeded to weave the hand seals.

Ram. Snake. Tiger.

He concentrated and in a puff of smoke, an exact replica of him stood right next to him. Kenji breathed a soft sigh of relief, he had no idea what he'd explain to the proctor if that hadn't come out right. He would probably just have shown himself the door. But it worked and thus, saved him from embarrassment and perhaps something even worse.

Kenji then proceeded the explain. "This is the clone technique," he started, his voice unwavering, "As you already know, the technique is performed with the hand seals; ram, snake, tiger,"  said Kenji, as he weaved the respective hand seals. "The clones created by this technique are intangible and therefore they can't really attack. Although that doesn't make them useless, far from it. This technique allows you to confuse the enemy and that could give you; the original, the time you need to sneak on the opponent, attack, or flee. Depending on the situation."

Kenji took a deep breath and continued. "Another good thing about the clone jutsu is that it's able to mirror the original's movement," he said raising a hand as the clone mirrored the action, "This helps when you feel the need to take a more direct approach as it makes it harder for the opponent to pick out the original and thus giving you a slight advantage."

With that Kenji dispelled the clones, hoping that was a good enough explanation for the proctor. He kept his straight face and proceeded to the next technique, he really didn't want to waste his or anyone's time.

Kenji built up chakra for the second technique, the harder one; the transformation technique. Once that was done, he weaved the hand seals.

Dog. Boar. Ram.

He thought of an old man and in a puff of smoke, Kenji felt a wooden cane in his hand, he continued to emit chakra in order to maintain his form. He breathed a sigh of relief and stood erect, stroking his long white beard with his free hand. He struck the bottom of the cane on the ground as he started his explanation.

"Oho, this is the transformation technique," said Kenji, "As you already know, dog, boar, ram."

Kenji walked with his cane past the proctor as he began to explain the technique's use.

"The transformation technique has a variety of uses which I will try as much as possible to explain," he started. "First off, I advise transforming into something or someone you can actually mimic. No need turning into an adult if you're going to speak like a ten year old. If so, it would be best to turn into someone of your age group as this jutsu only changes your appearance. Nothing more," Kenji paused then continued, "like the clone technique, this jutsu can be used to confuse an opponent in battle. It can also be used for stealth, evasion, blending in, things especially useful when approaching or in hostile territory. It can also be used for seduction-" Kenji cut himself off when he realized the proctor was not only a lady but a Jounin no less. But, the word was already out so he decided to mend it and continue, "now I'm not advising anyone to do this, I'm not, no. In fact, don't... Don't try it. It's wrong and trust me there are better ways to distract the enemy other than that," Kenji said and held both arms up in his defense, "But, I'm just listing off the uses I am aware of."

Kenji took another breath and quickly continued.

"The transformation jutsu can also be used to gain information and even infiltrate hostile encampments in order to take it down from the inside," he said. It can also be used to visit a relative who might hate you and probably urge them to forgive, he thought. He shook his head and with that, Kenji stopped emitting chakra and in a puff of smoke, his appearance returned. "There are a lot of uses for the clone and transformation technique, but those were the few I am able to mention for the time being," He pulled down his goggles and bowed his head, waiting for the proctor's verdict.

Faith would sit and watch the boy as he made a clone of himself. It wasn’t the best she had seen, but it was definitely above average for a student trying to rank up to become a genin. Faith would mark on her page, 7.5/10. She would then continue on with his explanation. He covered all the main points. Was there more he could go on? Yes. Was she secretly glad he didn’t? Yes. This wasn’t her first examination today, and this was definitely not her last. She would mark on her page 9/10.

The next part was the transformation technique, the boy would transform into an old man, but then would continue to talk like a child, he probably should of known better, and would mark him as a 6/10, but would erase it during his explanation, realizing he did know about the transformation tech not changing his voice. She would change the mark to a 9/10. Continuing with the rest of explanation, the boy would explain how he it could be used. With all honesty, The Akari was about to give him a 10/10, but then he got to a certain point: “It can also be used for Seduction….. Now, I’m not advising anyone to do this….” and would continue stumbleing, With all honesty, if the boy had just talked like it was a legitment stradagey, she would of given him full points. Faith, being an assassin from the Akari clan, knew that this was an acceptable strategy to get closer to targets. (Personally, she had never done it before, but she knew of clan members that had.) The way the boy suddenly stopped himself, made the Hikariton user think that he was using it for something besides his shinobi misisons.

That being said, The Akari would mark the boy, giving him an 7/10. She would add up the points and saw that he had done what was required of him to pass. The Akari said.

“Good enough… you pass,” and would go into his bag and pull out a bag behind her a Suna head band and hold it out for him to take. “You have passed your exams and are now considered a full fledged Shinobi. You will be expected to represent yourself as such, and to train as such, now leave and tell the next genin to come in.”

P.S. Loved the seduction thing

Kenji observed her every movement and when she took out the head band and held it out for him, he felt light again, like a great weight had been lifted off of him. He breathed a sigh of relief and reached for the metal plated head band before gently taking it off her hands. The metal plate was stainless and despite the how hot the weather was, the metal plate felt cool in his fingers and he found himself rubbing it unconsciously. Kenji listened to the proctor's final remarks and nodded before walking out at his own pace, motioning the next aspiring genin into the class room. Kenji stared at the metal plated head band, where was he going to put it now? Kenji just shrugged and fastened it to his ankle length trouser as a makeshift belt. It was tilted slightly so the metal plate rested on his right thigh, it would be there for the mean time.

He had passed the genin exams, today was perfect indeed.
