Finding Sir Vant of Hoshigakure (mission) Empty Finding Sir Vant of Hoshigakure (mission)

Task:
A visiting royal has unfortunately lost his/her way at the Haven borders and it is your task to first track them down and the lead them to Hoshigakure safely. Beware though, bandits are rumored to wander the borders and an organization called Jaws of Grima seems to have it out for the royalty of Haven. Should you encounter the rogues, you are required to deal with them however you deem wise.

Apparently, at the mission boards, there was a slightly higher ranked mission to do. This was a mission to find, "Sir Vant of the Land of Iron." Arugula immediately felt bad for that guy. It really seemed that he got the short end of the stick for that name. He most definitely didn't like that name to say the least. Arugula didn't worry about that. Apparently, he went missing, probably because he lost his way, and apparently, this was merely a C rank mission. Regardless, Arugula did not have any poker games today, so he decided to do this mission.

He thought about where to start, He thought that he should start by figuring out who this Sir Vant is. Arugula would go to the man at the counter and would ask, "Can I see a picture of Sir Vant?" The guy at the counter said, "Let me take a look." The man would look around in his desk, and eventually find a picture. It turned out that this dude was supposed to be the minister of black smithing in the land of Iron. Arugula had no idea what to think of that. It made absolutely no sense, but apparently, this guy was supposed to be important, important enough that he would be considered a visiting royal person. Arugula guessed that this guy was son of the king of the land of iron. Whatever that meant. Regardless, Arugula decided to continue on, and asked the guy behind the counter if he had any more information on Sir Vant. The man said, "I have a bit more information. Apparently, he was the guest speaker at the metal working convention, and was to demonstrate his new method of smithing metal. Arugula decided that any more information about whatever this metal working was would only be lost on him. He asked, "Where is this metal working convention supposed to be? I heard it was supposed to be well attended." Arugula did not want to insult the idea of metal working conventions. Apparently, this was supposed to be a fun and exciting event. One who knew Arugula personally would know how excited he was to hear of this most unique and interesting event. Not. He didn't mind getting some money though. That was definitely something he could use.

Arugula would start by looking for the organizers for the metal working convention. This would not be quite as easy, as Arugula expected. The problem was where he could find the place for the metal working convention. He looked around for any kind of advertisement for this convention. It actually was not quite so hard. There were a surprising number of advertisements for this stupid convention. He would look at the advertisement and would find out that this metal working convention was at the Jon Smith center. The Jon Smith center is actually somewhere outside of the village. At least, apparently it is realtively easy to find though. How interesting. Also, What a narcissist Jon Smith must be to name a convention center after him. Maybe there is supposed to be a Jon Smith tower, and Jon Smith Place. Who knew what kind of Maku things there would be. It is possible that Jon Smith did not ask for such things, and that people liked him so much that they would name their place after him... Arugula would go into the Jon Smith Center and would ask the people there about who would organize the the event. The people at the convention center gave Arugula the contact information fot the secretary of the organizers of this event. Arugula would then go out of the village, telling the guards that he was on a mission to find Sir Vant.

Arugula decided that he would now contact the secretary of the organizers of the event. He would then go and find the address of the organizer's secretary, which is actually the same place. He would look around and would ask for the organizers of the event. "Eventually, he would be able to get all the organizers together in a room to ask questions. He would start with, "Thank you all for your time. I have a few questions about the whereabouts of Sir Vant. I have heard that he has gone missing." One of the organizers would say, "Ah yes, him. I remember that he had a long time to get here, but he was supposed to be here yesterday. I believe that he  was not quite well, but I believe that he was going anyway. Also, I heard that sometimes, there is a group called Jaws of Grima that sometimes patrols the borders to rob people." Arugula thought that it was possible that those people were interested in this Sir Vant. Maybe Arugula could find someone to help. He didn't really know but it was possible that he would want to get some help. It was quite clear that the people were also concerned about whether Sir Vant would be able to make it to that convention. At least the people cared.

Arugula realized that he actually should respect that event more because of how many people were interested in this event. It seemed that he did not see him, and that Arugula needed to look outside. He would go out of the place, and If he found anyone who also knew of Sir Vant, he would tell them what he knew about Sir Vant including some info on the event.

He would go take a look outside the village, and it seemed that there was no trace of this person. That being said, he really wasn't that good of a detective anyway, so he wouldn't have found him that way. It was weird, but it seemed as if there was something wrong as, as Arugula would ask people about Sir Vant. None of them seemed to have an idea as to where he could be. Maybe, he was not intending to come. Arugula was told that he wasn't well.

Finding Sir Vant of Hoshigakure (mission) Empty Re: Finding Sir Vant of Hoshigakure (mission)

Sun Mar 12, 2017 4:47 pm
Jeisuta was assigned to a mission, and was supposed to help track down a visiting royal. He was paired with certain people- Arugula, Kenshin, and Tenma, whom he had seen in previous missions. However, due to the urgency of the mission, he had been rushed off to search for a certain Sir Vant, before he could meet up with everyone. Which was unfortunate. At least, he had left a note for the others on the same mission to find, detailing that Jeisuta was going down to certain circles he used to inhabit, to look for the royal in question.

Fortunately, the mission assignment desk had a picture of the man he was looking for, so he would know if he saw him. Hopefully, the royal had not been mugged yet.

While the royal visitor had yet to make his appearance, having been lost at the borders of Haven, there was a minor chance that he had made his way here. Hopefully, nobody had caught on.

Jeisuta decided to take an hour to check out the most likely places he could think of in Hoshigakure, if the Royal had been kidnapped or in the process of being stuffed into an early grave. Yes, he was supposed to be at the borders, or in the area, but if he had been kidnapped and was going to be ransomed, then there were certain spots to be examined carefully.... Of course, if the royal was mugged and killed in the wilderness, it was more about timing and luck, than location. After all, many kilometers of wilderness, plenty of places to hide a body there.

Hopefully not, for Vant's sake. Silly name by the way. Who chose that.

Oh.... Wait.... Of course!

How could Jeisuta have been so dumb? Obviously, this was a CODE NAME and the Royal might not even be from the Land of Iron - a relatively neutral place as things went.

Obviously, this was to protect him and his identity, so he would be less likely to be mugged.

He was still going ot check out the bad places in town though.

Hooded now, his ninja gear not at all obvious, his face obscured, he looked like the other hoodlums perpetuating this city. Grungy attire helped the look.

Underneath, in case he needed to switch attire, he had a clean shirt, his headband around his arm, and so on.

He began skulking around the back alleys, casually strolling strolling around. The prevailing attitude was to ignore others, unless they intruded on your business, in all but a few cases, so this worked out alright.

He hurriedly went through several bars, ordering a quick drink at each. Had to be careful though, couldn't drink too much on the job even if under cover. He didn't function well when tipsy. Which is why he only drank water. It looked like champagne, and frankly, nobody gave a damn. But it would look weird for him to be scouting around bars without drinking. The tip he left at each bar despite only getting water, certainly helped his case.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on perspective, nothing of note happened, for the most part.

Despite his best examinations and listening in carefully at the juiciest joint in town, he heard nothing concrete. Not even when he overheard a couple of talentless goons - all muscle and no brains, who had apparently been on the lookout for a royal to hand over to the jaws of Grima. Before, before he was a ninja, these were two punks Jeisuta didn't mess with. Since they were both way beefier. Of course, now things were different. All it took was to imply he had a deal for them. That deal of course, involved letting them leave without broken limbs, or possibly without their souls, and in exchange they told everything they knew about the Jaws of Grima.

They even spilled the identity of their contact. It took longer than expected though, he was not sure if he could make it to the borders in time to be useful. Anyone already sent would be able to

Jeisuta decided to backtrack instead. He would hunt down this contact in the Jaws of Grima, and work backwards from there, trying to foul up plans to hunt down the royal.

Unfortunately, the goons could only tell Jeisuta where they were supposed to meet their contact - an abandoned building in the depths of the maze of alleyways.

Good enough.

A brisk walk later, he was outside the abandoned building.

Ominously, the wind howled, dramatically. In one of the windows, he thought he saw a movement in the shadows.

So, being gutsy and not particularly bright about this, Jeisuta walked in. While he was brimming with trepidation, most of it was uneventful.

Except for the moment he was walking around one specific room. There were books and papers with sheets and pictures of people - ninjas and royalty, among them. He almost got brained by a flying chair, actually. Fortunately, the guy was obviously not great at aiming, and the grunting beforehand was a dead giveaway, but that was close. Dropping to the floor, the chair sailed overhead and crashed into the wall. A mildly muscular dude who looked like your average joe, dropped to a crouch, and aimed a kick at Jeisuta's head. Jeisuta was forced to roll away to dodge, grabbing the man's leg in the process as it crashed into the floor where his head had been, pulling on the man's ankle and sending him flying towards the wall the chair had just visited.

That crunch had to hurt. Whatever it was that broke.

The dude was pretty badly banged up, so Jeisuta kept an eye on him and began skimming the papers. Contained were several hand written memos.

Apparently, the Jaws of Grima were an organization bent on forcing the ninjas out of Hoshigakure - as well as the royalty who sided with them. They wanted to track down this royal in question, but had not done so yet, as they believed him to be a distant relative of the Hoshigakure natives.

So, one of the more resilient factions behind the anti-ninja movement.

Jeisuta took the papers under one arm and the body of the Jaws of Grima contact under the other. He scurried off, to make a delivery by the ninja head quarters. There was danger afoot.

Hopefully, things didn't get too messy.

After being debriefed, he would charge back out in the search for the missing royalty guy.

Finding Sir Vant of Hoshigakure (mission) Empty Re: Finding Sir Vant of Hoshigakure (mission)

Mon Mar 13, 2017 8:49 am
The sun has not even risen, but the male of dark hair was, his golden orbs open and looking around, he had gotten the mission the night before, but he started shortly afterwords, he had heard that two others we already on the mission, their chakra signatures were feint, but he could tell their general directions, since they seemed split, Ketsueki decided he too would go into another direction from the others, yet trying to stay close to them in case he could hear anything like a commotion or anything, so he went for a location between the two Signatures.

Ketsueki was wearing his normal clothing, dark, as always, Armor pieces here and there, but mostly cloth, this was his normal clothing when he was out on missions or training. His coffee color skin showed in sections where there was no cloth or armor, but that did not worry him in the least, this was a simple search and escort mission anyways, at the point when he joined into the mission, Arugula had already did his investigation inside of the village and was now heading to look at a particular area outside of the village in the boarders, as Jeisuta was on the other side of Ketsueki in an Abandoned building.

Ketsueki had gotten the memo of who all he would be working with, and noticed he had worked with each of them previously, at the same time, on his first two missions to be exact, maybe they were testing to see if this would make a good ninja team, who knows, Ketsueki did not have the time to figure it out either, if two people were already looking for this guy for some time before he started and had not found him yet that could be bad news indeed.

There did not seem to Kenshin, the last of the squad, had joined them or maybe did not get the memo yet, but that was not his job, nor was it the others, he would just have to try and find this, Ser Vant before anything happens to him, so Ketsueki would place the missing member from his mind for now and continued his search, some ways away, towards the direction of what appeared to be an abandoned building there seemed to be a small ruckus, Ketsueki stared for a moment worried, as he knew one of his commrades was in there.

Not long after words however, he saw someone he reconized, the other dark haired one like him, fleeing from the building, with a man under his arm. The quick glance he did get, to Ketsueki it seemed like the man may be in pain, He did not know if that was Ser Vant or not, so he would continue his search in the area he was in. It did not take him long however after that to find what seemed like signs of a scuffle in his area, so Ketsueki would follow the direction the signs pointed him too.

Soon later Ketsueki found out that it seemed to be a scuffle between two members of some roving bandit group, he did not care about what it was about , but he would decide to make his presence known to them, with a small scoff from him, and the moment the two looked at him from their tussle, they would quickly get up on their feet, already exasuted that was easy to seem in them both, Luckily Ketsueki's Headband was hidden from sight so they though him just another bandit as well, as that was the way he was dressed.

When they looked up at him, Ketsueki would close the distance to the closest one before he could react and with a single punch knocked him out as he turned to the other man, his eyes glistening with a ferocity like a demon, one could even say almost like a blood lust of sorts. He stared at the other man with a snarl on his face, growling out in a voice that even he did not reconize "Who are you and what are you doing in this area" his fist tightening and he started to slowly move towards the man.

The man started sniveling and talking about being a Grima, whatever that was, and losing the traces of a royal they were supposed to be tailing, even wound up saying they were fighting due to each blaming the other for losing the man, seemed something happened and this man he was looking for may be in hiding , Ketsueki would huff as he stopped just short, and patted the man on the shoulder, at first he flinched then after the man calmed a moment, Ketsueki's Hand gripped the shoulder. As soon as he did that he pulled down at the same time and raised his left knee.

When the knee collided in the abdomen of the man, his gasp of air could be heard, and the man's eyes rolled in the back of his head, he was out cold, and Ketsueki would throw him up over his shoulder, and then picked up the other he cold cocked earlier under his arm, and he would take off back to the village, Hopefully one of the others could find Ser Vant, if not, maybe one of these two could be interrigated for the information and where they saw him last.

After his short Jaunt back to the village after some time for some, Ketsueki arrived and dropped the men off with the gate guards, letting them take care of them, one of them informed him to take a break for a bit, as it turned out he was gone for a good number of hours already, and could use some rest, the only reason why Ketsueki won that match up was because of the squabble between the two weakening them and catching one of them off guard was a huge help as well, The other was in a state of Shock mostly so Ketsueki did not have to much to worry about from him at that point, but there is no telling how it coulda went if he was first contacted and went to that location before the others, one of them searching may have found his dead body.

Finding Sir Vant of Hoshigakure (mission) Empty Re: Finding Sir Vant of Hoshigakure (mission)

Tue Mar 14, 2017 9:24 am
For the third time in just as many days Kenshin found that he had been paired with the same trio of Genin for a mission, the three of them were still relatively new to the ranks. It was quite obvious to him that the people in charge of assigning the missions were expecting him to actually lead the three Genin on these missions, and show them what they were meant to do. But thankfully for him the three young men were actually proving themselves to be quite independent, not requiring even the slightest amount of babysitting on his part in either one of the previous missions. Arugula, Jeisuta, and Tenma, those were their names, and he also had the faces to go with the names due to their mission directing traffic outside of the royal palace. There was only one problem...whilst he did indeed have both their names and their faces dedicated to memory, he was not able to place any of the names to the faces...in other words, he had absolutely no idea which Genin was which. All of them seemed to be quite a few years older than him, which surprised him a little, but then again it was to be expected, after-all, not everybody could be a child soldier, especially in a highly religious place like Hoshigakure.

He recalled that the shortest one of the three seemed to stand at around 5’10, a rather average height for an adult male, but at the same time quite a bit taller than Kenshin himself, who at the age of 15 stood at 5’5. His black hair had been cut short and he had an average build, all in all the guy was just that, average, but that was definitely not a bad thing, he did not stand out in a crowd, meaning it would be a lot easier for him to infiltrate places than it would be for Kenshin, who stood out like a sore thumb. The next of the three, the one whom he had passed the package off to in the Lavender Peacock mission, stood at around 5’11, once again a rather average height for an adult male, and just like the previous man he had his black hair cut short. His skin had a light tan to it, much like he would expect to see on someone who called the harsh and arid country of Haven home, and he seemed to have a relatively average body build. The final of the three was the tallest by quite a stretch, standing at the relatively tall height of 6’3, he had messy, dark brown hair, and much like the first of the three he just seemed to be average.

But that was neither here nor there, what he really needed to focus on was the mission that he and the trio of Genin had just been given, a visiting royal, a man by the name of Sir Vant of Iron country, had not arrived in Hoshigakure by the time he had been supposed to. The higher ups of the village did not seem to be all that concerned as the details of the mission simply said that the man had most likely just gotten lost somewhere along the way, but Kenshin himself did not really believe that to be the case. He felt this way for two reason, the first one being the extremely large bandit presence within Haven Country, to put it simply the country was infested with the filth, and if by some means they had found out who Sir Vant was they would try to hold him for ransom. The second reason though was actually an organisation known as the Jaws of Grima, they were rather notorious in Haven Country for their hatred of the royal family and Hoshigakure as a whole, so the fact that Sir Vant was both a royal AND a guest of Hoshi made him a target far too juicy for them to ignore.

Whist the other three seemed to stay relatively close to one another Kenshin had long since left their chakra signatures behind, the three of them seemed to be searching around the outlying villages, but Kenshin was heading towards one of the most dangerous parts of Haven Country, the part that bordered Shadow Country. That part of Haven was known to be the most bandit ridden part of the entire country, and was it was rumored by the criminal element of the country to be controlled by the Jaws of Grima, and thus this would be the place where he would be most likely to find Sir Vant if he had indeed been kidnapped by either bandits or the Jaws. So far he had only come across a group of three bandits, a bunch of fools who had not noticed the Hoshigakure headband that he wore on his belt and had thought he would be an easy mark. It had not ended well for those three, two had been killed with a couple of EGF threads through their necks, while the third had been...questioned, yes, let’s say questioned. Luckily he had chosen not to kill this one as well, as he confirmed to the silver haired Chunin that earlier a group had passed through with a captive who matched the description of Sir Vant.

He could feel quite a large group of civilian sized chakra signatures just on the edge of his range, there were at least 13 people there, most likely 12 bandits/Jaws members and Sir Vant...looked like this would be even easier than he had thought. There was just no way that a simple bandit could ever hope to take on a shinobi and win the ensuing fight, the same went for a group of bandits, in fact the only way he could see the shinobi losing to trash like this was if the shinobi got overconfident and one of the bandits got a lucky shot in. Unluckily for these bandits though, Kenshin was the type of shinobi who would go all out right from the start no matter who he was fighting, and the reason for this was actually quite simple, he understood that underestimating the enemy or overestimating yourself could very easily lead to death. At a speed of 100 Kenshin would form the Ram hand seal and activate the Body Flicker technique, allowing him to move at 190 speed until he was only 2 meters behind the group, allowing him to get a better look at them. The moment that the albino’s unique eyes locked onto the group he knew that he had indeed found Sir Vant and a group of bandits who thought they had gotten an easy payday, but unfortunately for them, their lives would be over in seconds.

At a speed of 50 Kenshin would cross the 2 meter distance between him and the three bandits trailing slightly at the back of the group, it would take him less than a second to cross the short distance, and as soon as he did he would grab the head of the man in the center, roughly jerking it to the side and causing a sickening crunch that alerted the rest of the group. As soon as the two on each side of him turned to face him it was too late, as five 3in threads shot out of each of his arms, impaling the two of them through the sides and leaving large gaping holes throughout their torsos. “Three down...nine to go” the young heart thief would say, willing the bloodsoaked threads back into his body. He would make quick work of the rest of the nine bandits, using a mixture of his threads, his medical ninjutsu and his knowledge of the human anatomy to kill each and every one of them in a matter of seconds, he was precise, methodical even, as he cut through them like the grunts they were. With all of the peons dead Kenshin would grab the unconscious form of Sir Vant, he seemed to be unharmed for the most part, save a pretty nasty wound to his head, which most likely came from one of the bandits hitting him over the head with some form of weapon

After healing the wound Kenshin would haul the man's unconscious form over his shoulder like it was nothing more than a sack of grain, before beginning the long trek back to Hoshigakure. He had to admit, he had actually enjoyed this mission a lot more than he thought he would, although the reason for that was simply because he had been given the opportunity to truly cut loose against true foes of the village. Sure the opponents had indeed been pitifully weak but that mattered not to him, the only thing that mattered to him was that he had finally gotten the opportunity to spill the blood of his enemies once more “It’s been far too long...far too long since I felt this way...since my hearts pounded like this...since I experienced this...rush” the demonic looking teen would say, a sinister smile on his face as he licked a small amount of the blood that was splattered on his face.
