Everybody ELSE is Fighting Giant Monsters!

Rakka wordlessly passed the bottle to her partner, who took a swig in turn while directing her on where to turn the boat to. The girl finished the song's words, much to Rakka's surprise. Rakka giggled as she took the bottle herself, knocking back another drink and singing cheerfully.
"Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!" Came her honeyed, smokey singing voice, one well tempered and trained in the days before she became a Shinobi. She was quite enjoying herself for once, so that when her companion actually spotted something, she was rather disappointed. She saw the island that she pointed out in the distance and steered the little boat towards it, watching it grow on the horizon until they were nearly there.
"I suppose that doesn't sound so bad. Still, lets try not to get stranded. That would look pretty bad on the mission report." She said with a shrug.

She listened wordlessly to Ren's assessment of the situation, as well as her suggestion that they approach stealthily. Rakka shrugged. 
"I could just level the island. She said, as if it were nothing. "Go for it. We'll scope the place out before that." She decided, taking the boat in close as Ren presumably gave them cover. However, when they put ashore, Rakka seemed content to step right out of the boat and walk across the sand, kicking her sandals off and letting her bare feet grace the shore. "Nah, I think I've got this." Rakka said confidently. "You said you felt something, right? You're sure?" She asked. If the answer was yes, Rakka would continue with her plan. "Watch the tree line. Don't look at the light." She advised the girl. Lifting her hands and taking in a deep breath, she exhaled and lowered her arms as if she were doing some kind of tai chi exercise. Then, quickly, she brought her hands together to form a tiger seal, spitting several huge balls of fire into the sky. The fireballs then curved towards the forests, rushing along the top of the tree line, not igniting anything, but generating enough heat to flush out anything that lived in the water.

"They'll come out in a moment." Rakka told her teammate. "How are you in a scrap?" She asked

Ren smiled and let out an enamoured chuckle at Rakka's suggestion of just levelling the island, "As easy as that would be then we wouldn't have a private tropical island to kick back and relax on following the mission." Ren said beaming, as he took another swig from the bottle of Rum, the container now feeling a lot lighter than it had been at the start of the mission.

Once the two of them made it to the beach Rakka, ignoring the plan simply jumped out of the boat and danced out onto the sand, kicking off her shoes in the process, 'Well that wasn't part of the plan' Ren thought for a moment with a slight frown before he shrugged and jumped out of the boat with her, she outranked him after all and she probably had some sort of plan in mind if she was this relaxed about the whole thing. Ren's assumption was of course proven right when Rakka asked him to confirm that he'd sensed something on the island. Ren of course nodded, "Yes the signature were after is two hundred meters that way" Ren said, pointing off into the forest about 40 degrees from where they were currently standing.

When Rakka told him not to watch the light Ren's mind of course immediately clicked with the amount of genjutsu he used, even if he wasn't a specialist he knew a trigger when he 'saw' one, for lack of a better term. "A genjutsu then I take it?" Ren would say after the young woman shot off her jutsu, glancing at the woman before looking back at the trees. 'God she look's gorgeous in that light' Ren thought to himself with a blush that was hidden by the golden hue of the fireballs in the sky. "Well genjutsu shouldn't be an issue for me, for the most part I'm pretty much immune to them." Ren would say pointedly, after all it would come in handy if she knew that she didnt have to worry about getting him caught in her techniques.

Assuming the woman still asked him how he was in a scrap Ren would give something of a smirk at the question before replying, "Well I admit I'm more usefull in the back lines providing support and causing confusion, but I can handle myself pretty well in a scrap, he would say, all the while keeping his eyes on the tree line, darting from place to place as he watched for movement whilst maintaining a relatively casual stance. "You saw what I did on our last mission after all." Ren smiled, thinking back to the destruction the woman had wreaked on that apartment building and its criminal inhabitants, with a smile.

On a normal day, Rakka probably would have communicated much better. Today, though, she was shamelessly showing off. As she stepped out of the boat, she scooped up the bottle of rum, taking one big swig and finishing off what remained of their rum. Casting aside the empty bottle, she sighed in satisfaction. She did not notice the frown on Ren's face, for the fiery ice queen was enjoying herself too much, just playing with her food. 

Ren's words, however, were actually noted by Rakka, who nodded to show her understanding.
"Just one? Good." She said, as the fireballs she'd just spit began to curve in the air in a new direction, aimed for the area that Ren had pointed out. When Ren asked if it was a genjutsu she was employing, she shrugged. "Not yet, it isn't. Better safe then sorry, though." She said, before noting what Ren had said about her immunity. "Immune? How?" She questioned, intrigued. 

Ren's reminder of their mission and her usefulness in that fight was noted by Rakka, who nodded curtly. "Of course, how could I forget?" She chuckled. "I don't think I was paying that much attention, to be perfectly honest. I got a little carried away there." She said, giggling at the memory. Though she was usually quite reserved, Rakka was well known for her love of wanton destruction. she considered it a calling card of sorts.

Just then, the creature broke through the tree ling. Tall, clawed, and limber, its webbed feet and fingers were flanked by long, curved claws, and it wore a cloak of fins. The perfect predator for dragging away harmless fishermen. It snarled and let out a shriek that carried across the sea and rang in Rakka's ears. She grinned. The creature took a step with one of its long, slender legs, and then another, and before long, it was sprinting towards her. Rakka did not move. The creature continued to run, straight at the pair of them, closing the distance quickly. Thirty, twenty, ten meters, and now it was almost upon them. Still, Rakka made no sign of preparing to move. 

As the beast reached the five meter mark, Rakka let out a sigh, and with it came a stream of flames, very small, but glowing bright green. The beast's eyes widened as it toppled, tripping over its own feet until it fell at hers, its eyes glued to the cone of fire she was puffing like smoke from a cigar. Then, she inhaled again, as if she were playing with the smoke, and the beast blinked once in confusion. Rakka grinned as she spat another fireball, the flames annihilating the beast entirely, leaving a crater in the sand a few meters deep and kicking sand into the air. Wiping sand from her eyes, Rakka turned and hopped back into the boat, popping open the second bottle. 

"I think its your turn to drive." She said, kicking up her feet onto the bow and leaning her head back against the second seat, the back of her head resting in her hands.

Ren just smiled coyly in response to Rakka's question "I have my ways" Ren said with a wink before going back to watching the treeline, even if he was immune to genjutsu, it was certainly pertinent to keep an eye on the treeline, even if he could keep an eye on most of the islands wildlife with his minds eye technique he'd learnt from his recent experiences on one of the wendigo infested islands that not everything can be sensed with such a technique.

As Ren stood there, poised for action he took note of how Rakka was shaping her chakra, how it flowed through her body and burned, 'fire nature chakra then' Ren thought to himself making a point to take note of just how she shaped it and replicate the technique in future; of course Ren's focus on the technique was broken as he saw the creature break from the treeline. Seeing the creature rush towards them Ren might have flinched or reacted but seeing Rakka stand there calmly he assumed that it was no doubt all part of her plan. Watching the beast reach the five meter mark, and Rakka exhale that green flame Ren felt a jolt as he entered a genjutsu for a fraction of a second before his sealing array broke him out of it again. Seeing the beast lying on the ground Ren saw the opportunity to attack and, watching Rakka's own chakra network again, formed the hand seals for her technique and exhaled a fireball onto the creature at the same time as she did. "Heh great minds think alike hey?" He said with a smile before turning and jumping back into the boat, offering Rakka a hand up as he did so.

Sitting down Ren smiled when Rakka suggested it was his turn to drive. "Yes I think your right" he said, forming a few hand seals and focusing his chakra as one of the texts in the great library dictated, first flowing slowly through his body as he converted it to water chakra Ren caused two water clones to rise up from the sea and step into the boat once dry as they began to row the two of them back to the village.

Okay so, here's what I have to say about the situation. 

Haru, since this is a mission you may not claim any additional AP. 

Ren, I'll approve 374 words towards Fireball, seeing as that is the amount of words present in your final post, but I won't approve the 50% training discount seeing as Rakka never taught you, you just watched her use the technique. I'll be willing to approve, at most, 17 words towards Water Clone, seeing as that is how many words you actually wrote towards the technique.
