Guarding the Parade (Sento Senju)

Task: A feudal lord of the fire nation is coming to visit the leaf village during a spectacular parade. Your job to guard the parade route and apprehend anyone suspicious looking or anyone that tries to harm the parade or the feudal lord.



Han wakes up in the morning, ready and excited for another mission. He eats his breakfast and runs out to the village. Han makes his way as quickly as he can towards the mission board so he can choose his second mission. 

Han arrives at the mission board and looks for something he thinks he can do. He looks at the C-E rank missions, looking for another E-Rank or a D-Rank but something catches his eye. An abandoned village district is seeing some strange activity and people have been complaining. This mission interests Han greatly and he inspects it closely. "Weird noises and screaming, huh? I think I should check this one out. Now, what rank is this? C-rank? I'm not sure I can do that yet. I'll keep an eye on it but for now I'll go with a D-Rank. Let's see here. A feudal lord is coming to town and he needs guards? I think I can do that, though I wouldn't mind a little help. Most of the Genin are in Suna right now for the Jounin exams though. Hmm." Han says as he grabs the mission details and analyses it carefully

Sento didn’t have any specifically assigned missions for the day, and had nothing in mind to train for, so with his newly found free schedule he decided today might be a good day to make some ryo. He was surprised however to find that there still seemed to be several C rank missions hanging up on the board. Which were usually reserved for chuunin or for a gennin that was assigned to partner up with a chuunin for the day. Eyeing in on a gennin that seemed to be alone as well he thought this might be as good an opportunity as any to make some new friends and socialize for once.

Walking up to the young man he’d tap him on the back of the shoulder. “Hi my name is sento” He’d say before letting a slight pause hang between his sentence. “Need any help with that mission?” He’d ask motioning for the boy to hand it over so that he could read over the details.

Han feels a tap on the back of his shoulder as he turns to see a boy, a Genin like himself. The fellow Genin introduces himself and asks to see the mission details. Han smiles and hands it over thinking that this solves some of his problems. He raises a hand out in friendship and introduces himself.

"Hi, I'm Han. Thanks for helping me out with this mission, I don't have a lot of experience yet." Han says as he scratches the back of his head with his left hand, still extending an arm with his right. "I know that this mission may not be so hard but company is always welcome, especially considering that most people are in Suna for the exams." Han says slightly embarassed at his statement.

Bump for Sento

As the boy introduced himself Sento made sure to mouth the boy's name so that he could commit it to memory while simultaneously taking a hold of the mission documents. His yellow eyes would scan the paper from left to right, analyzing the mission. Tuning back into hearing the boy saying he didn’t have much experience kind of eased his mood. Sento was a bit of a rookie to, it would be nice to go on a mission with someone more in his range of skill then inuzuka he had been spending time with lately. “No worries, I’m not all that experienced either… We should work well together.” He’d say rubbing the back of his hiar with his free hand. Something he often did while thinking.

“So It says here the parade will start on the main road, in the center of the village. It’s probably best if we get moving now so we can show up early and inspect the area for traps, that may have been layed down, and intended to harm the feudal lord.” He’d take a quick pause before continuing allowing his words to hang in the air. “So… What do you say?” The senju would await a response before taking any action.

Han smiled when Sento said he was still a bit of a rookie as well, he hadn't met many Genin yet but it was nice to meet one that was relatively inexperienced just like him. So far, everyone he met had been his superior officer so he feels relaxed with Sento, someone who is still learning just like he is. 

"The Main Road, huh? Sounds like a plan to me! Searching the area for traps later on would be impossible with everyone celebrating the parade." Han smiles brightly as he turns towards the center of the village and gets ready to leave.

Sento and Han continued to walk for a bit down the long dirt roads of Konoha, and being a bit anti social the boy would begin to whistle, rather than carry on a conversation, besides the whistling was a bit of a habit of his anyways. He’d picked it up from someone important to him. However as his yellow eyes scanned the streets and took note of their location sento would create two wood clones which split from his own body first looking like stretching wood then taking the form of sento himself, not really giving an explanation to the boy as to why until after he did so. The real sento would stay put as the other clones ran forward, and sento continued to walk with han.

“I sent them to check some other areas figured we could cover more ground that way, they have a mental connection with me so they can just tell us if that areas clear, just check that alley on the right and I’ll check the one on the left, the parade should be coming through in about half an hour so we should get started.” The senju would say as his neck turned left and his body followed.

Sento figured he’d issue the orders if not for a sake of speeding things up. His clones had already finished there sweeps and reported back nothing, which he figured would be the case, but it was only safe to check anyways. In his alleyway he’d also come up with nothing. No explosive tags, or hiding assassins or any of the sort. “Looks like today's gonna be an easy day” He would think to himself as he leaned back to check on the other gennin. “Find anything?” He’d ask before walking over towards him and telling him he’d found nothing in his sector.

As Sento and Han walk down the long dirt roads of Konoha, heading towards the Main Road, Sento starts to whistle. Han smiles as he listens to the rhythmic beat of the whistling. They continue on their path with no further delay. As they reached the area of the parade, Sento created two clones of himself that were made out of wood. Han looked in surprise and awe as wood stretches out and forms into the shape of Sento. Han smiled as he recognized that Sento is from the Hidden Leaf's Senju clan. Han knows this clan as the clan of the Founder of the Hidden Leaf, the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju. 'I guess I'm not the only one with a clan element.' Han thinks to himself. The clones run forward to cover more ground as the real Sento stayed with Han. Sento told Han what to do and went to the left alleyway. Han turns to the right and heads into his assigned alleyway. 

Han does the Rat and the Boar hand seals as he uses the Flicker Movement technique.  Han's surroundings clear and everything moves slower than normal. He looks around the alleyway and checks out every single detail. He looks at the cracks lining the walls, the dirt under his feet, certain areas where traps could be laid, he even climbs up to the rooftop to check if there is anything suspicious or out of the ordinary. Han finds nothing as he jumps back to the ground and returns to the Main Road where Sento is waiting for him. Han walks up to Sento leaving a faint trail of after-images as he reaches him. Han reports back to Sento. "I didn't find anything out of the ordinary." Han says as Sento replies with the same results. "Well, the parade is going to start soon so I have an idea. The two of us can watch from the rooftops and keep an eye out in the alleyways and the surroundings. Can your clones transform to look like regular citizens and watch in the crowd? If they can, they can check if anyone seems hostile or dangerous in the crowd of people watching." Han says and waits for Sento's reply before running up the side of the building with his Tree Climbing/Surface Walking Technique and lands on the rooftop to watch the alleyways and the parade itself, leaving behind a trail of after-images again.

When han confirmed that he hadn’t found anything out of the ordinary either a bit of relief washed over the senju, although he suspected that they might not find any traps or anything like that he had always kept in mind one of his father’s quotes. “Always expect something to go wrong, if you're wrong you're not disappointed, and if you are… You're ready for it” As harshly as his father had suffered from PTSD he was a skilled shinobi in his past and had lots of wisdom in the field, regardless of how little he was willing to share with sento. Always wanting him to find some civilian job he’d rarely talk or give advice about being a shinobi to sento. So on the rare occasions that he had opened up the white haired kid had listened well.

Speaking of listening well he figured he should tune back into the gennin in front of hims words. Nodding as he listened he’d mentally tell his clones to blend in with the crowd through transformation jutsu, commanding them to take civilian form so as not to draw attention to themselves with shinobi gear and equipment. Continuing to listen he’d agree to the fact that they could watch from the rooftops, after all they already had two operatives on the ground. Watching han take off he’d observe the gennin using the tree climbing technique to scale a building and would smile as he backed into the alleyway concealing himself from the sight of Han.

Sure he could use the tree walking technique, but he had been trying to get better at ninjutsu lately and was in need of a bit of a workout anyways. Excreting wooden spikes from his body by forming the ram seal he’d pluck two of the wooden branches off by snapping them with brute strength. Punching one into the wall beside him he’d begin to climb continuing to punch in the spikes as he scaled the building. It took him a bit longer than it should have but the gennin had time to spare anyways, it was still about ten minutes before the parade when he reached the top and his clones were diligently watching the growing crowd awaiting for the floats to pass.

Finally reaching the top and drenched in sweat Sento would wave a single hand in the direction of the boy he was partnered with for this mission to let him know he was in position before his yellow eyes focused on the crowd below. Not much happened in the ten minutes the gennin waited and the crowd would begin to buzz as men on stilts began to make their way down the center of the lane in marvelous costumes. Following closely behind them was the carriage of the man they were responsible for protecting.

Han watches Sento climb up the side of the building with Wooden Spikes and he smiles. 'Well, it never hurts to train.' Han thinks to himself as his light blue eyes scan over the alleys and the road. People start to flood in as the parade is about to start and Han takes a note of Sento's wooden clones, now disguised as civilians. He watches giant floats go by and men on stilts walk down the road in great costumes as the crowd cheers. He then sees the carriage of the feudal lord they were meant to protect.  Han watches the alleys around the carriage and looks at the crowd nearest to the feudal lord. Some people try to run towards him but none were hostile and were dragged back anyway. So far, nothing seemed to happen. As the parade is about to close, and the lord's carriage reached the final alleyway, the one right next to Han, a man in the alley brings out a knife and attempts to run at the carriage. 'Well, there goes an almost effortless mission. I guess I'll take him out.' Han thinks to himself. He jumps down and lands behind the man. He quickly does the Tiger hand seal and touches the ground as water envelops him suddenly and freezes around him before he even makes it out of the alley. Han notices that his hand was quivering and his body was shaking. The man's movements were slow and sluggish, this man wasn't trained. Han figures that he probably wanted revenge or payback but he can't afford mercenaries so he tried to do it himself. This man is a good man however, and he can't bring himself to do it. Han takes pity on the man and reaches into the Ice Prison and touches his shoulder. "Don't worry, this won't hurt. I'll just put you to sleep for a bit." Han says as he absorbs the man's chakra. The man's eyes close as he falls into unconsciousness. Han releases the Ice Prison and brings the man on his shoulders. He waits about ten minutes as the parade ends without any assaults made. The people return to their normal lives as the crowd dissipates and Han and Sento return to the middle of the road. Han slowly lowers the sleeping man as he gently leaves him in front of them. "This guy tried to attack the feudal lord but he doesn't seem bad. He probably lost his property and wanted revenge or something, but he isn't trained at all. What do you think we should do with him?" Han asks Sento waiting for his reply.
