Continued from here: Bringing the Whole Army

It was quite the migration, but in the end there were no deaths, only a few injuries and illnesses, and a baby born. The group relaxed as they sat around outside Hoshigakure by the country's borders, waiting for an order from the Makukage or Lady Akihana that it was time to advance into the village itself. Reizo patiently chilled on a tree stump alone, reading one of the books he always carried with him. It wouldn't be too long before they were called in to celebrate. Several others had arrived ahead of them, as Reizo well knew, so he hoped it wouldn't take too long. Hopefully nothing too eventful occurred when the others arrived, or things could get unexpectedly complicated over on this end. Once the order was given to move out, the group all made its way to the village gates, excited to celebrate the military triumphs of their village.

Saya could feel the grains of sand crackling against her, sticking to any part of her skin that it could latch onto. It had been a long journey, but they had all made it. Within sight were the tall gates of the City of Stars. It was a pretty name in contrast to their harsh lands. Perhaps, when they had entered the village, it would be different. She certainly hoped so. Saya had grown accustomed to the moist air in Kumo, and this “dryness” was really hurting her face and complexion. A sigh escaped her, letting out all the frustration and impatience in one puff of air. They were waiting for a signal of some kind, to allow them passage into the city. And while she understood that, Saya was more than ready to go return to Kumo after the celebrations have passed. Alas, the young girl didn’t have to wait any longer and moved when called.
