Camping with dad
Thu Aug 24, 2017 10:51 pm
Today Sanae was training again with her father who would take her to the Wildlife Reserve were he indented to train with her a little and even stay overnight doing some kind of father daughter bonding via camping out in the wild. They were currently walking upstream towards a waterfall under which he wanted her to train her Armour to become stronger than it was before. Because when she could sit beneath the water without really noticing it she was ready to do the jutsu, he was sure of it. So as they reached their camping spot she helped him unpack their stuff and set up the tent. It was a huge kind of tent with three separated compartments. One taking almost halve of the space were they set up a table and two chairs, the camping stove and their gear. The two smaller compartments were preserved for sleeping. But there would not be so much sleeping this time around Suichiro was to make sure of that, because he did not want his daughter to slack off. So as everything was set up he made her get into her training gear and then they started.
A quick warm up was in session by playing catch me all over. Now that both could climb trees it became a sort of three dimensional matters and even if she had gotten better at this she was never really able to reach her father, because he was still a lot faster than her and more experienced in tricking her by fooling her with his movements. But nothing over a little tough love to get the day really started. After that they were going to the waterfall which was coming down from above and it sound filled the area. First he held her hands when navigating over the stepping stones towards the small platform where they were going to sit and train. The water splashing down on them hurt. The falling distance made the drops and splashes hard like rocks that hit their target. This was simply the perfect place to see if her Jutsu was still working or not, because it would be a lot more hurtful when the affect of the Jutsu would have worn off. So as they were sitting down he said to her that she was to activate the Jutsu so the training of it becoming more effective and reliable could start.
She stood there concentrating on her armour and soon she felt it slowly creeping beneath her skin. Covering up her whole body until she was at least quite sure that most of the leaks it usually had were closed. As she was in this state of full concentration and control she made a step forward under the waterfall. Now that the Armour was shielding her the hard splashes of water were barely noticeable just like cold rain maybe in comparison to before. She could see her father beside her how he as well stood there in this forceful rain that was coming down on both of them. She was not sure but he smiled, at least it seemed like that. But soon just after some seconds the water got harder on her skin and began to hurt. This was when she had to infuse even more Chakra into her Jutsu to make it work again. Being massaged by the water crushing down from above this was even harder because concentration was running low. Right in the middle of it shortly a fish had hit her face as it fell down from above and she startled. This was when her father had pulled her back onto the stone and corrected her stance. Giving her a lecture about how important for any technique the stance was. Because with the right positioning came stability and with stability there was inner peace and quiet. That of course made breathing so much easier which would allow Chakra to flow so much easier. Breathing in and out an eternity seemed to just pass her by. The occasional slap in the face with a fish that was thrown down from above seemed to become something usual after some time.
When the water began to hurt she tried focusing more Chakra into the Jutsu it felt like the usage of the Jutsu was kind of burning up her reserves. But she so badly wanted to make it right she wanted to make it work because this was what was expected of her. Her father wanted her to know how it worked and she was to become stronger by knowing the usage of it. After a while she felt the need to get down, her legs were shaking, maybe because of the high loss of Chakra, maybe because it slowly became cold so she kneeled down, but remained in a good posture to keep up the breathing exercise while she tried to hold up the Jutsu against the almost crushing feeling of the water coming down on her. She was feeling like it had already washed through the clothes she was wearing that were soaked and clinging to her body. Slowly her body began to ache and she did not know how to bear with it at most, but her body felt paralyzed as she needed her hands to keep her from collapsing onto the ground. She could see her hands becoming white, because her fingers had lost the warmth of blood and so was her body. Slowly growing stiff and cold while she burnt the last bits of Chakra inside her to protect her body from the cold with her mouth wide open panting and gasping for air while water was running over her face. Sometimes coughing as some water got into her lounges while she tried to breathe through the pain and cold that was taking over. Shivering and out of breath she dropped to the stone were she was sitting on and everything where black.
When she woke up again she was changed to her casual clothes and wrapped up inside her sleeping bag. Something war was pressed against her belly and she felt like her body was hurting all over. Especially her fingers and toes were burning but it seemed like it was already getting better. Slowly she turned and looked around. It was her sleeping compartment inside the tent and the door was not closed up so that she could see her father who currently seemed to be cooking a meal because the tent was filled with the smell of grilled fish. She slowly sat up, her sleeping bag making her look like a huge caterpillar. "Father", her voice sounded hoarse but he indeed turned to look towards her and he smiled. The day ended with a nice meal together and he explained to her what she did good and what was not working so good and said that it was an overall good impression so far and that he could see how she had worked hard to attain this level of control and he was sure that by the time they were finished she would be much better.
The next day she woke up early in the morning she woke up and before the breakfast she was having a warm up with her father who was already at the early hour not really fond of her slacking off even a little bit. Every movement had to be efficient and full of energy. Like when they did push ups he said she should not think about pushing herself up but pushing the earth away from her. Crazy though but well it was worth a try. After she was then totally fired up he had her practice the sword pulling because this was something that she did not really exceed in as well. So while he prepared the breakfast she was training.
So while he prepared some scrambled eggs and bacon she was pulling out her bone sword. He was watching the painfully slow movement while he was cooking. He was telling her that she needed to do it faster or she would be killed in the process. "Faster Sanae, if there was an enemy watching you, you'd be dead already! Pull faster! What are you waiting for I am counting to ten and then you got it out!", he warned her and started to count down. She shivered as she tried to carefully pull faster, as if this was possible somehow. As he was done counting and she had still not pulled it out he grabbed her hand and tightened it around the bone and pulled on it getting it out of her body so quickly as if he was doing it himself. She was standing there in shock awaiting the pain some feeling of destruction inside her arm, the tearing feeling of destroyed muscles but nothing happened. She was alright and her arm was good as well. A little bit scared she looked up at her father how was grinning at her and then having a look at her bone sword. His fingers where checking its form and then he bend it a little. Then after some moments he shook his head and just broke it between his hands. It was not hard enough if it was so easily broken into pieces even if it was her father he should not be able to just break it apart that way. He threw them onto the fire and advised her to do it again. She then turned to do it again as he was returning to his grill.
She then waited while her body was returning to his normal state which meant that the arm bones were hardening again and the bones infused with chakra again. As this was the case she started pushing out the bone again. This time a little quicker and her body seemed to manage quite well. It now was a more flowing. Still slow but more flowing and steady in her movement. As she had pulled out the new blade she looked at it quite proud, it seemed so much better than she was used to. So she now bent it a little but with a crackling sound it broke. No it just looked like it was good enough and they were thrown into the flames as she changed the amount of Chakra that was led into her arm. She needed more Chakra flow in her arm that was dealing with the hardening of her bones maybe the usual amount was not enough and not enough to use it properly. So she then tried it once or twice more just because it was eating up her Chakrapool and it took a little bit of a toll on her body to pull out bone after bone from her arm just because of training purposes. The last sword she pulled out was at least not breakable by her, or maybe it was because she was too exhausted to do it. So she handed it over to her father and he took a proofing glance at it. Then he bent it and nodded, it did not break, but it would need to come a long way till it was perfect but for now breakfast was due.
Together they enjoyed the eggs and bacon which tasted delightfully and after getting hydrated again her father would send her back under the waterfall. Now with the task not only to attain her Jutsu but also to look out for falling fish because they would be their dinner today. So she took the bone sword she had formed before and returned to the stone on which she had trained the day before. There she would resume her posture like she had yesterday now facing upwards waiting for the fish to fall down.
While she did so she activated her Jutsu the bone armour again. She felt it covering her back making it strong and more resilient against pain. Her back was covered in bruises from yesterday. Blue and green spots where spread all over but as the bone armour formed itself the feeling of aching pain was growing smaller and smaller until she was feeling alright just like that. So she stood there again water just splashing down on her like running into a heavy rain. Soon she was soaked again and glad that the weather was nice and warm or else she might just freeze to death somehow while doing this kind of training all over. She could recognize that the Jutsu was still weakest in fingers and toes where the distribution of chakra was harder and so well accomplished. This reminded her that she was to take care of this more properly so that those minor things would not go undetected by her. So she concentrated a little more on distributing her Chakra a bit more evenly inside her body which meant not only upper and lower body alike but also arms, legs, fingers, hands and her head. She could feel the Chakra circling inside her body just as her blood was going round ever so fast as if it was going to boil. This was when once again a fish's fin slapped her face as he fell from up top down on her. She had forgotten to look at them falling and was promptly scolded for it. Almost like the fish was laughing at her for not being able to catch it in time. Again she felt the armour getting weaker and she had to infuse more chakra into her bones to still maintain the Armour and make it work as efficient as before.
Slowly she altered the stance she had and looked up. Water splashing into her face like crazy and this all the while she was trying to maintain her concentration. It was hard doing so many things at once but somehow she ought to get used to it. She took some deep breathes and focused onto the ledge of the fall where the fish would fall over. She held the bone sword on her hand tightly ready for it to pierce through the next fish to fall over. As it did she then quickly stroke upwards with her blade piercing the air over and over again but she still missed because for a short time she lost the control over her armour and the sudden weight of the Water on her arm was wearing it down hindering her thrusts and so also this fish escaped the grill. A little bit frustrated she then regained full control over her Jutsu which was getting exhausting to endure like the day before with her Chakra pool emptying out she began to shake. Her muscles began to ache again and she was kind of seeing double. With calm breathing she tried to relax herself and return her mind to full awareness again to still achieve the task given to her by her father because it would be terrible if with all her might and skill she was not even able to catch some small and tiny fish. So with one last effort to reclaim full control of her armour and concentration she kind of stared at the ledge until there was a fish falling over and then in an instance she was piercing through the fish's body and he was stuck in the pin of her sword. Gladly she breathed out and left the stone she was standing on. As soon as she reached the ground again she would let go of the Jutsu. This time she was conscious still but she also still had some little Chakra left.
After that her father would tend to show her how to really prepare a self caught fish. Because he could not stop to make sure she knew how important it was that she knew how to survive even if her mother did not prepare her a lunchbox. Therefore he showed plants and mushrooms to her that he picked up and told her what distinguished them from poisonous or even deadly plants around. It turned out he was quite the improviser cook and wildlife expert. Well now that she thought back, he had been missing for quite a while so it was no surprise to her, that he knew how to fend in the wild without any help of technology or already prepped foods. Carefully she listened to what he told her and did was he explained to her. Then after they had their fish meal he made her practice the dance he had taught her before so she would do it more efficiently. They were sparing against each other kind of crossing their swords and in spite of hers breaking at some point because the one of her father was still the better sword and formed out of harder bones he praised her technique for being very well developed and that he was happy she adapted it so well into her own movements. He could definitely see that this was the dance of the camellia but in way like a signature. She was proud that she could not only copy what she was taught but it developed into something of her own. So she did not feel like she was just copying off of someone. By the time she went to sleep that night her body was screaming in pain and she did not know how she was to survive the next day but what was clear her father would not let her go home until she had perfected this bone armour thing and the sword was a thing as well. Soon after lying down Sanae fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
The next morning started a little nicer. Her woke her up with a nice breakfast and after wards rubbed her bruised and aching body with muscle relaxing oil while tending to her muscles in particular with a massage. This was making everything a little bit more easily on her and the oil was warming her body in a positive way just right on the surface. After that the mandatory warm up followed in which he quite literally hunted her through the forest. If this was the adrenalin pumping through the veins of an animal followed by a hound she did never want to part take in such an event. When he finally cut the chase and just grabbed her carrying her under his arm to a clearing in the forest where he set her down. This was where he would have her train again.
Then once again she would train to pull out her sword again. This time a little bit more force full. It began by her infusing her arm with a lot of her Chakra. She could feel how every bit of her Chakra was moved into her arm. Flowing out of her legs, her belly concentrating inside her arm like if she tried to infuse something she held with chakra. This time it simply was her arm that was slowly engulfed in wind blistering Chakra. She could feel how her bones were compressing and getting even harder than it had ever been before. And she felt quite up lifted while she was waiting for the Jutsu to take place. Then the movement started.
Inside her Arms her bones mend together forming the pointy tip that would soon deliver severe pierces to anything or anyone she would aim her technique at. This time she was doing it at a more rapid speed. It did not take long for it to first show beneath her skin and then pop it open to show the thick end of shoulder bone where she would put her Hands around to use it. As she was closing her fingers around the bone it felt as if the surface was changing to fit her grip and make it easier to hold for her and help her form a tight grip around her sword like she was supposed to. It still needed some self control because even if she had did it yesterday with her father together she was not quite sure about what she was about to do. She closed her eyes and then breathed in and out then formed a tight grip around the hilt and pulled. Easy as a war knife would slice through almost melted butter her bone sword would slide out of her arm and make its way out of her Arm and into the light of day. She was a little bit surprised herself as she pulled it in one flowing movement then pointing it forward taking a safe stance.
She could see her father coming closer. Gently he tipped his finger against the peak of the sword and nodded. It seemed to be pointy enough for his liking. Then he took it out of her hands and bent it in his own hands back and forth, but it did not break, not even crackle a little. Last but not least he swung it a little through the air making slashing sounds and then bending it over the knee. Then he nodded saying: "It is a good sword you have made, it is good enough, but it will still grow stronger." She took back the sword and smiled, finally she made it.
Now the training changed. Once again she was asked to activate her Bone Armour so she could withstand the attacks thrown at her from her father. As soon as she started o use the armour he started hitting her. Slaps and punches thrown at her but it felt okay. Well not pleasant but the Armour prevented the worst. Damgae dealt to her and she could slowly see how he was engaging her more and more violently. She could feel slaps left and right but thanks to the armour she stayed fine on her feet. Then he stoke a clean and clear hit to her stomach and this made her break down, the Jutsu failed and she sank to her knees. Coughing she wrapped her arms around her belly which was hurting quite badly while she tried to get some air into her lungs again. Watching this pity he warned her, that he would continue in ten seconds even if she did not manage to get up by that time and started to count down slowly but definitely coming to an end. She war curling up on the ground trying to reinstate the Jutsu to keep her form more harm and then the counting ended and with the end came the first kick to her side. It felt like hell because he would not go easy on her, easy was for fools and such people who would not want to learn.
A second kick would commence but this time she had managed to get the Bone Armour working again so that she could reflect the attack a little easier. Over and over he was beating at her while she tried to shield her face from his attacks and tried to get up back on her feet, but with every new kick he threw her more out of balance. She might not feel the pain that much, but the force of it still lifted her form the ground. So she recognized that she had to build a stance if she wanted to stand her ground against this. Sometimes it needed more than just a good defence and a thick skull to win a fight. So once she had corrected her stance she even got up onto her feet. He nodded in agreement. The he took up stones and started throwing them at her. Hit her chest hit her belly and her forehead. Over and over again they were hitting her body and for a while it was good but then the Jutsu started to fail again this was when she called out like in a wild rage. This somehow did not just get her spirits lifted even higher and her Chakra was circling her circlet again even faster and with higher power and with a higher stability than before and she focused the eyes of her father kind of staring at her and with a wink of her hand asking him to come closer and give her even more. This was when he grabbed her Bone sword and started to hit her with this. Once, twice and then it suddenly scattered against her arm. This was when he smiled at her kind of proud, she had done well.
So they would call it a day and then have dinner together and she could bring him to tell her something about his time as a Genin. So he told her about some wild stories that varied from pulling pranks on poor teachers over to skipping school for more fun things like going places he was not allowed to go. Construction sites, deeper forest areas or into cellars that had tunnels which were connected and so much fun to explore. She kind of envied him but as he saw her eyes glowing he rose a finger and made sure that he would still punish her if she tried to do such a stupid thing. A pout struck the face of the young woman and she crossed her arms kind of annoyed. But with a little tickling he could make her laugh again and she rolled from side to side. Afterwards they went to sleep and as the last day of her camping trip went by she was sleeping peacefully while sorrowful eyes were watching the girl sleeping there was more to this than just this trip. Because as they returned home there were some things missing, all things belonging to her mother and father or more adequately uncle and some furniture especially in the room they had shared. A letter on the kitchen table said, that she could not take the tension anymore and the hate she received for having born a Shinobi. She had waned a way out, he quit his job and they would start anew somewhere else. They did not include where and they pleaded not to search. Being a Shinobi always put more barricades into her way, but she would still continue to be loyal like she was supposed to.Although it was hard to let go off the things and especially off the people one loved. Sometimes she thought herself the burden to serve the village was too heavy, but this cracked her heart.
