A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

Fri Sep 29, 2017 9:06 pm
The Water Gardens in this village of Hoshigakure have drawn Satoru out of his hermit shell of a motel room. A beauteous location, the gardens appeal for their ability to calm one's heart through visual appeal. Or so Satoru assumed due to the location's name. What would a place named "Water Gardens" look like aside from a glorious and elaborate system of water currents which irrigate a garden of gorgeous plants? The view should be a desirable one as the backdrop for a session of training. Having heard around the village during one of his rare outings that there is an area designated for training in the water gardens, Satoru pushes himself to step out and take advantage of this opportunity. However, not being so outgoing of a person, Satoru mostly has training in solitude on his agenda. He recalls his most recent time spent in the village's training grounds where he became proficient in using three different jutsu without any form of personal interaction. As he makes his way through the entrance to this area, he takes in the scenery and is almost immediately set at ease. The sun is also out and it is midday.

"By far, the most beautiful sight I've seen. Kumogakure does not have anything like this." Satoru thinks as he continues within. He eventually comes to stand in one corner of the area, prepared to go about his dealings quietly. Though he does have some idea that a partner would speed up his training and allow him to reap more benefits, far be it from Satoru to ever attempt to initiate a conversation with a person he does not know. The ninja in this village are not his own fellows. He does not expect any immediate hostility through talking to one of them, but he does fear causing offense unintentionally. As far as Satoru has seen, the ninja of Hoshigakure do not all take kindly to the presence of ninja from Kumogakure. "I'm better off this way. In a foreign land, where few are your comrades, keeping to yourself is natural."

So, Satoru stands, taking in the view of the area. The ground is flat and there are some trees around, none of them within four meters of another. The space is open enough to train in for multiple purposes whether one has ninjutsu, taijutsu, weapons, or anything else in mind.

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

Since he was here in the village and his 'friend' had been off doing whatever she had did at home, he decided it was time to walk around and see the village. Keeping to himself he managed to get a look at many of the churches from the outside before the sun had came up, his cross shaped pupils studying the make of the buildings up to the steeple where he tilted his head and blinked. In this world he assumed that many had praised the Shinto Gods, but this seemingly new religion, at least to him, confused him. Then again he was raised by a cult that praised a "God" of death so new religions didn't phase him, but this one just seemed...out of place. He had sooner walked away from the path of the church as a few on lookers came closer to him in an attempt to observe his face through the hood. Though they had tried their attempts were soon foiled as the only thing they would see was blackness.

He had heard through loose lips that this village didn't take kindly to ninja though was he even considered one? Curious how his status stood at the moment and yet one could not take any chances. As he walked the staff he had found in Tenga rested firmly on his right shoulder as if he was hitchhiking through the village, his eyes moving slowly from left to right until he could see it. The first light of dawn had been reaching over toward the village and why was he still up? Oh right he couldn't sleep because every time he tried he would be placed in the same nightmare over and over until he woke up in sweats and chills. Being here at least meant he could just shrug it off and walk about, like now. His body became on auto-pilot as he continued to move throughout the village, eyes still looking about until he wandered into the training fields.

His eyes remained stationary as he didn't see anyone..Of course it wouldn't light had not touched the earth yet. Because of this he moved toward the nearest cluster of trees and jumped into one, his body sitting on the biggest and sturdiest branch he could find and placed his back toward the trunk and the staff still sitting firmly against his shoulder. Resting in nature is what gave him the best rest and once he dozed off the day played in fast forward. Luckily for him since no one was there and cloak caused him to blend in with the foliage and the shade of the tree, he was unnoticed at least for the moment. As many people came in he wondered who would see him then again they would need the keenest of vision along with deducing what part of him was visible, but the thing that might have had made him stick out had been the staff. Once the place had filled he had woken up due to the chatter and commotion which caused his eyes to peer from the darkness toward one individual.

The boy had been standing there taking in the view for whatever reason, he couldn't surmise why then again nature was always beautiful. He stayed in the tree and merely watched though his hand stayed loose against the staff just in case he had wanted to move. The plan had been simple enough in his mind that he knew what would happen. On the chance that the male had noticed him, he would smirk from under the darkness of the cloak and fall from the tree, missing any limbs or otherwise before landing on his feet and looking at the male with no words. On the other hand if the male had simply not noticed him, Jin would simply do the same actions and instead of standing there speak," What exactly brings you out here?," he didn't actually know this had been a training ground so the question was pretty neutral.

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

“Maybe one might learn to live here. If only for this view, I could stay here a while longer and put up with the homesickness.” The trees above are not so thick that Satoru can't see through them and gaze at the blue sky. The wind rustles the leaves and creates a whistling natural sort of sound as gusts rush through these branches.

A man resides in said branches but Satoru is unable to notice him due to his silence. While it was mentioned that the leaves do not thickly cover the sky, they are numerous enough to keep a stationary shadow from looking out of place.

Satoru stands with his arms crossed in front of his chest. Not noticing the person in the trees at all, this man would jump down. The sound of this action would turn Satoru’s head slightly to look over his shoulder. His arms would part as quickly as is possible for him but remain in front of his chest. He knows that the ninja in this village do not all take kindly to Kumo ninja, the thought of being ambushed by a native is not outlandish. But from what can be seen, Satoru does not catch sight of a Hoshigakure forehead protector or any emblem of this village on his person.

To show respect, Satoru would turn around completely to face this person, his arms lowering to his sides. The unknown person asks Satoru what brings him to this place. With nothing to hide, he would answer truthfully: “I'm here looking to train some shinobi arts. And as for why here and not in some regular park, I just find this view to be more pleasant. I don't often see such sights where I come from.”

Continuing, Satoru would ask for this person’s name after giving his own. “My name is Satoru. Yours?”

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

Manners.

At least the male had some as the young man continued to look onward, his eyes peering through the darkness to take in each form of the male. It was odd looking at someone like this because usually he would just let his face be known and yet there could have been the odd chance someone from his past had been here and if they had saw him? It would have caused some troubles for him. So for now he kept his face covered and his voice silent. Since the male had not seen him in the tree he simply tilted his head at his replay and placed the bottom of the staff on the ground before he leaned slightly on it as if it could easily hold his weight. The male had been saying something about trying to train shinobi arts, his brows furrowing for a moment at that word. He had so far met a single good shinobi, this being based on those he had not met in the compound because that had been a situational aspect.

His other reasoning being here made it sound like the male had been stuck in the house like a sheltered child...well he knew the feeling, but he had nothing to actually go on if this was the same situation. Instead he had folded his arms as he leaned into the staff and smiled for a moment," You sound like you've been stuck in home for your childhood. I hear trying to learn anything shinobi related is a no no here. Is that true?," the cloaked head would tilt to the side as he waited for an answer of his own. The male had given his name which caused him to think on a moment if he had given his real name, trouble. Instead he would nod and begin to answer the question as he leans off of the staff and spoke," Mo-Ri." Not his real name, but something he'd go by in Hoshi at least.

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

Satoru himself, along with knowing little about the people in this village, also did not know much about their customs. Whether or not learning the arts of ninja is looked down upon in Hoshigakure is beyond Satoru's knowledge. What he can draw from suggests that it is acceptable. At the same time though, there are a multitude of religious buildings in this village. Such things, religion and the work of a ninja, easily conflict.

"There are ninja in this village, so I would have to assume that it's acceptable. Maybe the religious folk here disagree but I have yet to encounter any trouble about it." Satoru explains.

He thinks back to just seconds ago. This person had dropped from a tree, hiding without Satoru noticing. Surely, if this isn't the skill of a ninja, then what is? In fact, this shinobi would prove to be of a greater caliber of skill than Satoru. So, he is cautious in his speech and actions, not wanting any trouble.

"Good afternoon, Mo-Ri. You displayed quite a great degree of stealth just now, hiding in that tree. Not to assume, but you must be in the occupation of a ninja, right?" Satoru asks. He takes note of his surroundings and comes to the conclusion that this place would not be bad for a quick spar. He would be sure not to cause damage to the area or diminish its beauty in any way. "I usually train alone but having a partner can't hurt. If you'd agree, we might spar?"

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

Mon Oct 02, 2017 8:07 pm
So the rumors he had heard about the civilians was quite true, right on the money in fact. For the few moments he had looked around the village and even now he could tell it. Only ninja were here. Despite the admittedly nice scenery this was only a place for ninja, but could he honestly make that assumption? He hadn't actually been in a village before so this could be the norm though if it was...what was the story behind it all? There had been many questions and yet he was not going to seek an answer now, it would take an incredible amount of pressure to get him to. In the meantime he trailed the thought off into another part of his mind until later. He'd just asked Shiroi about it since she lived here after all. " I have no actual idea on the circumstances of the ninja and civilians here as i've only just arrived myself, but it does seem a little...tense for my tastes. I'm more of a laid back and chill type of guy when i can help it," well he wasn't wrong and certainly didn't need to explain why.

Was it afternoon already?  He looked up into the sky and yawned for a moment as he tried to figure out just how long had he been asleep. When the male had finally said something to him about getting out of the tree he shrugged and returned his eyes through the darkness toward the male," Not a ninja no just extremely sneaky. Plus the way i was sleeping made it convenient with the leaves to cover me so no big deal really," spar? Well that..might have been a rather good idea. Smiling for a moment he would agree since it would further knock the dirt off his skills," Sure I wouldn't be opposed to it."

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

He has no concrete reason to trust this Mo-Ri. The fact that the person had not used his opportunity to kill Satoru and loot his belongings is no excuse to act without a guard up. So, Satoru will keep in mind that this no ninja of Hoshigakure and that it may be within Mo-Ri's power to kill him. After noting this in his head, Satoru moves back so that he and Mo-Ri stand six meters apart with his back to a tree. At the same time and as quickly as possible, Satoru removes a kunai from his ninja pouch. Then, a ready stance is taken.

To begin, Satoru takes some steps back to walk up the trunk of the tree behind him. While doing so, he performs the ram, horse, and ox hand seals which would silence his footsteps once completed. All of his actions are done as quickly as is possible for him. All the while, Satoru would keep his eyes on Mo-Ri to react to his movements.

In the area, no tree is within a four meter range of another and each is no more than six meters tall. The sun does beat down from above and the leaves create shadows in some areas directly below each tree. There are some broken branches of reasonable size in the trees.

Satoru stops walking backward when he reaches the middle area of the height of the tree's trunk. There, he would bend his knees in a squat, still watching Mo-Ri.

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

The male watched for a moment as the other ninja did a few hand seals and he could no longer hear his footsteps. Quaint. The hand seals slowly became engraved into his head as he gripped the bo staff a little harder, his eyes flickering beneath the cloak as he took his small strides to the left a bit circling the male to paint the picture in his head. Each shadow from the trees is taken into account to assure that he knew each tree's path, along with how the branches were leaning. The painting was complete as he kept his eyes on the male simply using his peripheral vision to keep track of his surroundings. He'd stop a simple two meters before he moved forward three meters closing the distance.

The move would be telegraphed as something that could be read from a mile away but then again this was his intention from the start. The males body would drop as his eyes stared into Satoru's, the cloak blocking the male from seeing the blue's of Mo-ri, but his eyes would see everything going on. The first of the kicks would come as a low kick before the males body quickly adjusting into a series of high and mid kicks. Each one being easy to read until he had changed it up and yet the male would not see the real attack. His body as it moved covered up his true attack as the staff came swinging from the males blindside. How did this happen? Well when Mo-ri began his kicks his body would be moving in a way that kept the staff from view. Now how would the staff not have been seen? The male had used a mental, sub conscience command to shrink the staff faster than the male could see, enough to where it would be hidden along his body.

The staff had been kept in a position where as the third kick came about he would bring it around along with the low kick closing the arc gap between the two. What that meant was as the low kick came about, the staff would be aimed at the males upper body, one from the left and the other at the right and would cause the male to either A) spin uncontrollably or B) crush the male's shoulder while also tripping him over. What would the male do in the wake of a dual attack? One that he would be able to see and the other that came at the last minute?

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

Mo-Ri's movements are closely examined by Satoru, who would just be reaching the mid section of the tree he is ascending. His quiet footsteps technique is active for the following reason: to require Satoru to concentrate at least partially to maintaining this wind element chakra. After all, this is a session of training, and what good would it be if one specializing in ninjutsu did not sharpen their ability to mold chakra?

His eyes follow Mo-Ri across his field of vision. As he walks, Satoru will have stopped back tracking and bent his knees, ready for some movement that would warrant some action. This person's skills are yet to be known, so watching is as much a learning experience as it was a form of self defense. What kind of techniques would this Mo-Ri display? As a best defense against whatever might be pulled, Satoru does hold the shadow imitation technique as a possible course of action. Unless of course, Mo-Ri proves to swift to be caught.

The direction of the sunlight at this time of day is towards Mo-Ri's back, meaning that it is actually shining towards the tree on which Satoru resides. Clouds shroud the blinding rays so that the light from the sun is slightly softened. Overall, shadows from the trees are distinguishable but facing the sun will not heavily hinder a person's vision.

A question is brought up in Satoru's head. It takes up very little time in the real world to think about, but it is stretched out here for insight. The trees around here, Satoru thinks, are not so close together that the sun doesn't shine through. This is true to the terrain. Quickly, Satoru finalizes and takes note of the need to remain within areas close to the base of a tree so that the shadow created directly around it might extend the reach of the shadow imitation jutsu if only by a half of a meter or so. At the same time, Mo-Ri should be kept at a distance.

Speaking of that topic, Satoru's attention is heightened as Mo-Ri begins to close the distance between them. The rat seal is formed without hesitation and Satoru's shadow extends down the tree for two meters before moving across the ground towards Mo-Ri. Any movement made by the target would of course be reacted to as Satoru's shadow speeds its way towards the target's own shadow which would be out in front of him.

With a successful attempt to use the shadow imitation technique, Satoru would then continue to walk backward up the tree. At the same time, his movements would be mirrored by Mo-Ri who would not collide with anything as he moves. Satoru stops when he reaches the first branch which is six meters above the ground. By this time, he will have walked backward for four meters. Then, he would make his way to stand upon the branch.

Wherever Mo-Ri is standing at this point is where he is as the shadow possession jutsu is deactivated. Satoru looks out at Mo-Ri from the branch he is standing in and speaks. "I think that this would be much more challenging if we try to keep this in the trees. I'll stay up here unless I'm forced to go down."

A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK) Empty Re: A Quiet Spar Among the Water Gardens (Private, NK)

Thu Oct 12, 2017 7:15 pm
The male knew not what the other had been planning so he continued on his path noting that the male was in a tree and that made getting to him a little harder if not more difficult. The original actions which would have been made for the male had only slightly altered to fit his needs. He would have continued to run at the tree, eyes slightly altered to look upward toward the male as he smirked at his altitude. It would have been a shame if he had fallen but the height alone wouldn't have attested for a sudden kill. Instead he was going to get rid of the males foothold and instead make them fight on his level. When had arrived at the tree he felt the pull of something on his form, a subtle change as if someone was trying to control him but he had already lived a life like that.

The moment his foot would have moved backwards his innate strength would break the hold as he continued to move toward the tree and made the aforementioned movements, instead kicking the tree a few times and instead of shortening the staff making it longer by a single meter as it slammed into the trunk of the tree, the resounding force of the kicks combined with the blunt force of the staff would cause the tree to wane and crack before falling backwards. Of course he had known no one had been in that area, but he stood and watched as the tree and subsequently Shiro would both go tumbling backwards. The male could stay in the tree as it went backwards, but the tree along with several branches would begin to smack and wail against his body which posed the question would he move or stay?

Being rather generous he waited to see the males reaction to the attack before smirking and resting the staff along his shoulders," Look hiding from me isn't going to help you in this situation and whatever you tried to do didn't work...," he did didn't know quite what the male was planning but if he kept jumping into trees then Mo-ri was going to continue to knock them down until he confronted him head on. That or just chase the male around swinging the staff madly. Either or.
