Re: When it rains, it pours (Takeo, Kotetsu, P, nk)
Sun Nov 26, 2017 1:47 am
It seems that Takeo accepted his request, but not in the way Kotetsu had expected. Not so much teaching as an impromptu sparring session. Takeo leans forward in the chair and tells Kotetsu to try not to die. 'He must be planning on starting now...' Kotetsu thought to himself. Immediately after this thought, Takeo's right palm crackled with lightning chakra, and created a construct that appeared to be made of lightning chakra in the shape of a hound. The creature then charged right at Kotetsu. 'It's a good thing I've been improving my speed...' Kotetsu thought to himself as he hopped backwards, building up speed to stay out of range of the monster. Since it was made of lightning, attacking it directly would not be the best move, since it would most likely electrocute him in the process. The one thing potentially in his favour was that since Takeo's left hand was incapacitated, it did not seem like the crippled shinobi would be able to perform much in the way of jutsu. 'That could be a major disadvantage for him...' Kotetsu thought to himself as he kept moving backwards at a speed of 70 to gain a little room to maneuver. As it stood, it did not seem like the construct would be able to outpace him, which was a good thing. It was time to figure out a way to deal with the beast before it could hit him. 'Let's try my new jutsu in practice as opposed to theory...' He thought to himself as he formed three hands signs , dog, bird, and dog, at his max speed (100). He created four Air Bullets that were then coated with ice. Hoping his Hollow Ice Bullets would take care of the lightning hound (since wind beats lightning) he fired three of the four bullets at the lightning beast and the last one he fired at Takeo. Once the bullets were on their way, Kotetsu would run to his right so that he would be moving towards the side of Takeo that was crippled, making sure to stay ahead of the lightning hound should his Hollow Ice Bullets not take care of the hound.

He's quite fast. Takeo thought to himself as the boy moved backward. He outpaced the hound quite easily from a standing start. Just how long had that child been training? Takeo didn't know the answer. He also didn't care to find out, now wasn't the time. Once again a child of Hoshigakure made the mistake of using hand seals. Though this time he it wasn't anything too long. That was good.
Takeo blinked when ice formed in mid-air. That's..a new one. This may have been his first encounter with ice release. Then again Takeo hadn't fought many advanced element users during his time. He had started to wonder if they even existed at all. Just another myth like the tailed beasts. Except the tailed beasts weren't a myth. He reminded himself. The seal etched on lower left of his torso served as a reminder of just such a truth.
The hound was torn through by three of the bullets. Normally it wouldn't be enough to stop it, however it was just a waste of chakra if it couldn't catch his opponent. The lightning fizzled out from existence shortly after. His one functioning arm now free to move it did exactly that. Takeo brought his right arm over toward his left side. The air shifted slightly as he did so, the gauntlets in his right hand activating to produce the disc like chakra shield. The final ice bullet smashed into the shield, breaking away into tiny particles of dust as it met it's match.
Takeo kept looking forward. His eyes didn't follow the boy. Not that they need to. He mused. Takeo sat back in his chair and waited. The wind continued to shift. Set to intercept the boy if he continued on his path, three small blades of wind had been fired during the movement of Takeo's right hand. They were rather small, so regardless of what area they hit the boy in should it happen there wouldn't be much damage at all. A minor cut at most. Still, they were practically invisible to the naked eye. Unless the boy was observant enough to notice something was amiss, he would be in for a painful time.

'Ahh, so it looks like my attack was affective...' Kotetsu thought to himself as he watched the lightning beast get shredded by the hollow ice bullets. The last one he'd sent flying towards Takeo was blocked by...something... 'Most likely some kind of shield...' He thought to himself as he kept moving. It didn't look like Takeo was following him with his eyes. That didn't really mean much, since there were several abilities that could allow someone to track him without using their eyes per se. As Kotetsu continued in his current direction, he noticed something but not with his eyes. He had only created a weak imitation of the Rain Tiger at Will jutsu earlier, however the light misting that was still going on was enough to give him a spotty sensor net. There were a couple spots where a small chakra signature was heading his way. Since he couldn't see them, it was probably best to avoid them entirely. As such, Kotetsu veered closer towards Takeo. He did so on an angle, and serpentine'ing at random intervals to throw off an attack. While he did so, he appeared to reach into a pouch for some form of ninja tool. What he was actually doing, was making one-handed hand signs inside his tool pouch. Once he was within 15 meters, he did two things. The first thing was send a large gust of wind at Takeo, even at this close proximity, it would take a little while to do so. Almost immediately after that, Kotetsu built up even more of his chakra and began creating spears of Ice around Takeo. Luckily for Kotetsu the Ice Spears jutsu didn't require hand signs, so he was hoping that Takeo wouldn't notice them. He created 4 in total; One on each side of the crippled shinobi, and one underneath. The spear itself was attached to the bottom of Takeo's chair, meaning the spear would dig into the ground, pushing him upwards and into the path of the other three spears. 'Let's see how well this attack works...' Kotetsu thought to himself. 'I hope it does, because that combo used up almost everything I had left...'

Takeo observed the movement's of the boy. He had figured out the trick rather quickly, that was good. His speed had picked up also, continuous movement allowing for his momentum to build. Interesting kid. The man turned his chair to face the boy as he moved to dodge the wind blades that had been sent. The boy approached into the 'kill zone' as it were. The range in which most of Takeo's abilities met. Normally this would be the point where he would be assaulted by about 4 different S-Rank jutsu, however Takeo was feeling generous today.
His hand crackled with lightning once more. A deafening sound erupted around them, the sound of some fucked up birds chirping apparently. Takeo himself had never actually heard that himself, but there hadn't been that many birds he had encountered in Tengakure. Maybe the original creator of the technique had met some different birds, who knows. The lighting crackled, spreading out rapidly across the training ground around him. Like a monsoon of lightning it whirled around him, spreading out thirty meters in all directions from where Takeo himself sat.
It would be set to meet the boy when he was within twenty meters of Takeo. The lightning would hit the boy unless prevented, coursing through his body and sending signals to his muscles and nervous system. The result was quite simply, total shut down of his body's movement. The current was set to stun only of course, because for story purposes that is totally a thing.

It would seem that Takeo was not a fan of Kotetsu bearing down on him. His right hand glowed with chakra and all of sudden, and the ground was lightning, spreading rapidly towards Kotetsu. 'That's not good...' Kotetsu thought to himself as he quickly started backtracking. That lightning was not something he wanted to get hit with. While he retreated until the lightning stopped expanding (31 meters), he would clap his hands together and take a deep breath in, infusing his body with wind chakra. 'So this is what Hikari's jutsu does when used properly...' He thought to himself as he moved with newfound speed. It gave him another idea as well. It would not likely work, but it was worth trying... Kotetsu clapped his hands again, and punched a blast of air towards Takeo (Power 65, speed 40). Kotetsu then drew a kunai from his weapon pouch and threw it (speed/power 127, sharpness 93) at Takeo's midsection through the Gale Palm blast, which apparently sent it hurtling much faster than Kotetsu had thought possible (speed/power 192). 'I see why Hikari-Sensei likes using this combination. It's a very potent combination...'

Takeo frowned. It was almost like this boy was trying to actively kill him. Such a brat. The man thought to himself. The kunai would fly forward and into Takeo's mid-section. And so Takeo died an a tragic accident. Or he would have, if not for the fact the boost in the child's chakra was sensed by him beforehand. The man shrugged. If boosting abilities were being used then he saw no reason to not use his himself. Which is why a black mark appeared on the man's cheek. Lightning chakra began to run throughout his body. It felt weird using it so casually, but then again this would serve as a good lesson to the uppity child.
The kunai would strike an inch away from his body before rebounding back toward the boy faster than it had been sent toward him. Takeo was currently looking toward the sky himself, not having visibly turned to look toward the boy or the kunai the entire time. The kunai would be aimed to lodge itself into the right foot of the boy. Takeo hadn't really ever bothered to learn how to redirect things back properly. Maybe he'd put in the effort at some point, but not for now.

Kotetsu could track the Kunai flying towards Takeo and he would start moving to his right, since he needed to stay mobile to make it harder for Takeo to attack him. However once the kunai had reached the immobilized shinobi, the kunai vanished, and almost immediately, Kotetsu felt intense pain in his left foot, so much pain that he cried out. 'What the hell happened...' He thought to himself as he fell over, since it did not seem like his foot would be able to hold his weight. Kotetsu was not surprised though, since it looked like his foot was nearly ripped apart. The reason was behind him in a small crater a kunai, had moved too fast for him to see. 'Had hat hit me anywhere else, I'd be dead...' He thought to himself as he made the hand signs to begin his medical ninjutsu. He wouldn't be doing anything else it seemed until his foot was healed, since he wouldn't be able to move. He was a sitting duck at this point, the crippled shinobi would be able to do whatever he wanted with Kotetsu the way he currently was.

A rather gruesome end to the battle. The boy's foot was mangled, though he was already moving to attempt to heal it. "Dead." Takeo would say bluntly. "The moment you get wounded in a real fight you're as good as done." The black mark on his cheek fizzled from existence. His chakra died down along with it. The man relaxed back into his chair. "You could probably kill an average shinobi. I don't know about Kirigakure's strength so I can't compare it." The man shrugged.
"You should get that checked out though." He would say, nodding to the wounded foot. "Work on your awareness also." And with that the man would wheel off to go do things. Probably went to bed because doing actual work is mad tiring.
