A New Life [IO]

Yorokobi walks into the cave shorty behind Yoru hearing his guidelines for our passage through the caves. Yorokobi sees him walking along cautiously and follows behind him keeping as cautiousness as he can in comparison to Yoru. 

There could be just about anything crawling through these caves and we wouldn’t be able to see it until it’s right on top of us. As fun as a fight could be I’d rather not get in over my head especially with those above myself.

Yorokobi continues to follow behind his mentor keeping a hand on his shoulder to make sure that they could not be separated in the thick darkness.

Stats

Kokai’s eyes quickly began to tire as she gave Sumairu the go-ahead to explore the mine. There was a slight hesitation in her gesture, but Sumairu wasn’t a child. And with what was happening, a little exploration wouldn’t hurt. If anything, it would shift his focus onto something else.
“Alright, Sumairu, just watch for those snakes, ok?”
Kokai squinted, peering through the dark to try and read. She had only managed to go through a few lines before hearing Sumairu return with a minecart filled to the brim with useful items.
“Wow Sumairu! You could definitely get some use out of that. And not just some little puppet toys either, but some big stuff. Just, uh, just be careful with those tools, ok?”
Kokai gave a smile, but her tone quickly shifted. Her eyes cut towards the entrance. Voices. And footsteps.
“Sumairu! Hide!” she whispered. The young woman reached for the saw, grasping its handle as the strangers came about. “It’s the bandits,” she said to herself. “They’ve come for us.”
She waited, gritting her teeth in anger. With each footstep, the intruder came closer and closer.

Kokai let out a battle cry, screaming with her teeth bared. She lashed out with the saw, aiming right for Yoru’s neck.

Sumairus eyes would squint as his sister said “Just be careful with those tools ok?” As if he hadn’t worked with them his entire life. You worry too much sister” He’d say as he pulled the pickaxe out of the minecart, intending to begin carving into the wall of the cave to build what would be his lab. However as he was about to do so, current events caused those intentions to change.

Muffled voices became evident from outside the cave, and as if to confirm that his ears were still working his sisters voice would call to him. “Sumairu hide, it’s the bandits they’ve come for us” Greed Sumairu would think to himself, as if the riches from his parents bedroom hadn’t been enough, now these bandits sought what rest in this mine.

“I’ve lost enough for one day” Sumairu would say, refusing to hide while his sister attacked. After all how could he live with himself if his parents were looking down on him at this moment, and watching while he hid and his sister died, instead he’d grip the pickaxe tightly and get into a defensive position, his sister could take one, he’d take the other.

Yorokobi heard some kind of battlecry in the darkness of the cave. After this he hears two thuds hit the floor and Yoru’s head staring at him. As he sees this a mix of emotions go through his head. Confusion, sadness, and rage. 

What the fuck just did that? He’s dead, he was the best chance I had at being a shinobi and he’s fucking dead. I’m gonna finish this, for Yoru.

Yorokobi then pulls out his kunai and takes a look at the attackers. Yorokobi sees a girl, in her older teens with black hair holding a bloody saw standing over Yoru’s dead body as well as a teenage boy with a face scar and half white and half red hair holding a pickaxe. 

Yorokobi charges the seemingly biggest threat being the boy with the picaxe using his kunai going at his throat.

Kokai’s jaw dropped as the man’s head fell to the floor. She panted, shifting her gaze to the boy as he charged for Sumairu. “Brother!” she shouted. However, before she could tell her legs to move, the head spoke.
Kokai screamed. Lifting her foot, Kokai would punt Yoru’s face like a football. His head would fly, perhaps even striking the boy that came in alongside the Jashinist.
“What the hell is going on!?” she yelled, dropping the saw and rushing to grab Sumairu.

As yorokobi came at him with his kunai lunging for Sumairu’s throat the young puppeteer would sidestep the boy at a well timed moment so that his chest would be facing Yorokobi’s left shoulder, before sweeping his leg with the pickaxe that he had been wielding in the earlier post. As the inside of the axe wrapped around the boys shin he’d pull back causing his yorokobis legs to come out from underneath him before shifting his gaze towards his sister, just in time to see Yoru’s decapitated head begin to speak.

“Well I’ve had warmer welcomes” The head would say defying all manner of human capabilities. “What the hell” Sumairu would manage to mutter before his sister kicked the decapitated head and sent it flying through the air. The young puppeteer would watch in shock unable to react in time as Yoru headbutted him into the ground.

The sudden shock of the blow would send Sumairu to the floor next to yorokobi with Yoru’s head landing between the both of them. “Who are you people?” The boy would ask quizzically, before picking up Yoru’s head in wonder. “How the hell are you doing that?” The red and white haired wonder would continue to pry, all the while looking back and forth between Yoru’s body and back into his gaze. “It’s really gross”

“Kokai I don’t think these people are bandit’s, you should probably stop attacking them” He’d say, hoping to stop the rampage of his crazy saw welding head kicking sister. Of course whether or not she did would be completely up to her, as sumairu wasn’t her writer, and Sumairu’s writer wouldn’t dare to god mod her.

As if to reaffirm his intentions the red and white haired boy would drop his pickaxe and let it clatter against the cold and damp stone ground of the cave.

Yorokobi gets himself up from being embarrassed by the scarred boy.

How did he react so quickly to me but couldn’t dodge a flying head? Nonetheless he kicked my ass and did it pretty handily. This girl was also fast enough to get the jump on Yoru and strong enough to bring a saw straight through him. I’m thankful to see that he’s alive but I just want to know how that’s even remotely possible with his head taken clean off of his torso. For now I’m going to let Yoru take the lead on this conversation and see where this goes since this is clearly a fight we’re unable to win seeing as how our last encounter just went.
