The Voice

The man had woken up with a start that night. Something had called out to him. A voice, one that was familiar to him, was calling out to him. The man's white eye awoke and scanned the surroundings. There was nothing there. The voice continued. Takeo felt a shiver run down his spine. What was going on? The man didn't know. It was unnerving. Takeo couldn't understand what was being said. This wasn't the first time it had happened. The recurring sound of the voice over the last few months had continued to grow louder. It was as if somewhere were now standing next to him. Still he could not understand.

The man left the building he resided in. Walking wasn't an issue anymore, though strenuous activity was still an issue. He walked down the empty street. The whispers grew ever louder. Takeo for the first time understood what was being said.

'Kill.'

The voice continued to repeat the same word. His pace quickened. Something was wrong. The voice was almost hypnotic. 'I have to leave. He thought to himself. Leave now or let the commanding voice take over. There was only one option.

So in the night the man left, eye constantly on watch for any sign of the source of the voice. Where would he go? He didn't know. However he needed to figure out what was wrong, and quickly.
