IT'S BACON! (Mission, Solo) Empty IT'S BACON! (Mission, Solo)

Fri May 18, 2018 9:28 pm
Ketsueki awoke in the dreary light of Kiri's morning, his eyes opened slowly at first as he peered up at the wall, plunged into it was the Kunai he'd been given. "No one is back yet, chiefly. Not him. Not even the Mizukage." He huffed as he sat up, placing his arms under his back for balance. Mitsukatta was resting over his shins, having grown larger and heavier, as puppies do when time passes, he smiled and reached to the dog's side, patting him gently before pulling his legs out from under him, the once lazy puppy, now lazy dog, had been left undisturbed but alert as always. Ketsueki then got up, had his K.M.R.E and continued his morning traditions until he was dressed at the front door. "Mitsukatta, protect the house, I'll be back soon." He said as he opened the door to greet the misty village, the moment he set foot outside he felt uncomfortable, as if something loomed around him. He'd never felt this, as if in an instant whatever watched him could snap his life up on a whim.

As Ketsueki stepped onto the road a senior ninja appeared, toting a large barrel, almost the size of, if not larger than Ketsueki himself. "Ketsueki Suzumebachi. You've been tasked by the Mizukage to deliver 3 barrels like this one to his hounds and feed them. Do not ask what is inside the barrel." Ketsueki was puzzled, he didn't know anything about the boss's hounds or how he fed them. Moreover, it was obvious that there was meat in the barrel, maybe Ketsueki wasn't supposed to ask exactly where the meat came from. "Where do I get them?" He asked, "The first, I've been kind enough to bring to you, the rest, are at several dead drops around the area, it takes a while to prepare the meat just the way they like it." He said with an eerie smirk before handing Ketsueki the encrypted note. It was styled in a special encryption to give infiltrators the old wild goose chase before black ops 'handled' them. What happened to the bodies? Who could say. Ketsueki nodded and broke down the encryption in his head, reading the note just as he was taught and stowing it in his pocket. "Underst-" Before he could look up and give the ninja his farewell, he disappeared, but there was once again that lingering feeling that he was vulnerable. It was uncomfortable, there wasn't a fight or anything so he had nothing to make of this.

Anyhow, he had a mission, his very first, and a delivery at that. Nothing he couldn't handle, not with the professor's training. He hefted the barrel onto his back and darted off toward the bridge leading to the Mizukage's office, and as he neared, the fog began to glow. "What the-?" He stopped and began to hydroplane toward the edge of the bridge, he was stopped by signs of construction. "The bridge is out!?" He huffed, not wanting to waste time going all the way around, he instead thought for a moment. "The dragon...Maybe I can..." He sighed, setting the barrel down. He took a breath and began signing away, all 44 of them, not even stumbling on the odd one, Yang, he believed. At the end of it he peered over the edge and watched as a great, roaring water dragon rose from the surface of the water, He stepped back, grabbing the barrel as he charged forward, leaping off the edge of the cliff toward the dragon "Work, work, work, work, work!" He prayed as he descended toward the beast, channeling his chakra for the water surface walking technique and landing atop the water dragon. Astonishingly, he didn't fall through or find himself in the hereafter, he instead was riding the dragon, maintaining his balance as he soared out of the chasm between the islands, he then soared toward the first dead drop, remaining invisible to most as the mist allowed him to remain largely hidden until he tried to land.

The boy soon leaped down from the dragon, planting his feet against the wall of a building and walking his way down before walking into an alley, the dragon arced up into the air before exploding into a short rainfall across the neighborhood. Ketsueki lugged the barrel, wondering how he would get his small frame to carry both at once, until the barrel came into view, despite how the alley looked, it was kept in pristine condition, there were even stamps on it with Ketsueki's name, and a rope right across it, he set the first barrel down and raised an eyebrow. "Maybe I can..." He walked toward the barrel and untied the knot and placed his back against the barrel, lowering himself against it and retying the knot with ease as his torso was just thin enough that the rope would hold firm and keep the barrel secured against his back. He then grabbed the first barrel and waded through the rest of the way to the Mizukage's office, looking much like he was trapped between the humps of a bactrian camel, no matter, he reached the steps with relative ease before setting them down. "Wouldn't want to feed them separately." He said with a shudder. That same feeling left him with so many jitters, he shook his head and turned, grabbing the note once more.

It was relatively closer than the other two and it would let him feed all the dogs at once. He ran at a brisk pace to the next drop, a lesser known butcher shop. The instructions were for him to ask for Kiri style smoked rat. He would assume it was a euphemism for traitors and enemies of Kirigakure. Maybe he was to fear what would happen if he ever turned coat, but in his mind he couldn't feel such a thing. He was as loyal as could be to Kirigakure and the Mizukage. He arrived soon in the shop, various hanging meats were on display, he winced, he wasn't against eating meat, but he wasn't partial to it. "Hello, I'm here to pick up a pound of Kiri style smoked rat." The man behind the counter spoke up. "You don't look big enough, for that dish, kid. It's for adults." The boy narrowed his eyes 'That's what I was supposed to do. What's with this guy?' "Sir I-" "Beat it, unless you can prove you're of age." He then turned and continued slicing up some ham. This was a mistake on his part, as Ketsueki was on a mission, which he'd complete by any means necessary. Not just because it was from on high, but because it involved dogs. Which, since Mitsukatta he had grown a fondness for.

Ketsueki let his hands slide into the center of his jacket and wove the single bird sign necessary, gathering moisture in the air with his chakra and forming 10 water shuriken, throwing them all over the front of the store, they cut through the meats, the sign, some of them wound up embedded into the wall, but once his frenzy was over, Ketsueki stood calmly and rang the bell for service, the man turned slowly and, with balled fists, nodded to the boy. He then disappeared and returned with a barrel of the same size as the first two Ketsueki carried. "Thank you!" He said with a chipper smile and left, stepping outside and feeling the wear and tear of his chakra use. He could consider it necessary in his own mind, but it was truly a wonder he wasn't stopped or murked for it. Or worse, found by Professor Rakka.

He arrived in a few short minutes of running to the office, once there it was only the stairs he had to climb, He huffed and puffed all the way up, with the same knot around his abdomen as before to take two at a time, up and down until he made his way to the Mizukage's office. At least, as far as the receptionist would allow him. "I'm here on a mission to feed Lord Mizukage's hounds." He said, trying to keep composed at the excitement of the situation and at the fact that he had just been quite active. He was let through, but the feeling got worse and worse as he neared the door, The moment he entered with the barrels he was almost quaking under the pressure, the only thing that kept his stomach from heaving was the hounds themselves. "They're healthy." Was all he could say as he watched the walls wince and wain against the pressure that was the hounds pulling at their chains, wanting at either the boy, or at what was in the barrels, with their master gone, there wasn't any direction for them to take.

With sweaty palms and cold blood, the boy pushed each barrel towards the hounds, trying to stay out of their range as much as possible until they could discern his reason for being there, their curiosity didn't stop them from growling whenever he neared them, nor did their superior smell, they knew there was food about, their food. But they didn't recognize the scent of the one who brought it, and they wouldn't be able to get a very good smell, as Ketsueki remained as far away as possible. He didn't want to risk a fight or a bite with no one there to save him. As far as they knew, he was an intruder, and a fearful one at that, he seemed weak, and they naturally knew how to exploit that.

Ketsueki, after maintaining his range and moving each barrel into position, pried off the lids of the barrels and tipped each one forward, letting a bit of the meat escape but making the rest wholly available to the dogs, as they ate, Ketsueki rested against the wall with a sigh. The feeling was slowly starting to pass, even as he watched the three of them dig into the gore. When they eventually finished, the boy lifted the barrels once more, sealed them and brought them to the trash, they were picked absolutely clean, and when he thought about it, while they slept rather cutely after being stricken with the itis, He didn't even see a trace of what had spilled. He wanted to go back up there and watch them but they wouldn't sleep with a stranger there. He took the scenic route home and reflected on his actions with a proud smile, especially with the use of the dragon bullet, it's just water after all, who says he can't ride it's wave?

When he returned home he was stopped once more. "Well done." Called a voice from behind as he placed his hand on the doorknob. He sighed with relief as once the voice had gone away he felt the unease in his stomach settle.
