Kyo Hates The Academy (p)

Kyo brought his gear to the ninja academy to get cracking on the two jutsu he needed to learn. In all honesty, he couldn't have cared less about some stupid transformation and clone technique, but that was what was required of him.
"Damn it all to hell."
He muttered under his breath as he pulled out a journal he had from the academy. Kyo was pissed at the very sight of such pathetic jutsu in front of him. He knew could sweep the floor with it and could do it first try easy. These training exercises were nothing more than just a silly hurdle to becoming a Genin.
"I am going to get these first shot. I am good at this stuff."
Kyo looked at the hand signs for the transformation technique and began to get serious at the academy. He was alone to practice and would use this time to the best of his ability. All he had to do was weave the dog, boar, and ram hand signs and then he could preform the jutsu. The boy took a second after practicing the hand signs to think about who or what he could turn into. He could turn into his father, mother, or teacher and get away easy, but that was small potatoes. The hokage was his goal. He tried to think about Risako's face and features while thinking through the process. For awhile, he was really focused. For awhile, he wasn't thinking about everything else going in his life. For awhile, he wasn't thinking about his dead uncle.

Kyo was a bit messy his first few tries with the jutsu and then came to remember Reo's lessons on chakra. He could remember clear as day as his old man told him about the flow of the chakra through his body and the significant power it possessed. Kyo took just a moment to relive this memory in peace before standing up and giving it everything he had.
He imagine the Hokage's face he had seen everywhere. He could remember all that happened to leaf within his lifetime and the horrible things he had seen. Kyo focused the vary burden he carried into his chakra network and felt Reo's lessons echoing.
Dog, Boar, and Ram. These were the hand signs he weaved quickly and carefully as he had practiced. He felt his chakra flow through him and envisioned the result clearly. With a rush of excitement through him, he weaved the ram hand sign and transformed.
"Hell yeah!"
Kyo took a second to feel accomplished before looking into a long mirror in the room for the result. For a second, he felt a rush of accomplishment again to see it wasn't him, but for the rest of his daze into the mirror he realized he was looking right at his uncle beaten and bruised the day he had been killed. Kyo felt his insides curl. He meant to become the hokage, but he just thought about Reo all over again. Feelings left in a box inside of him opened into a massive explosion with all of the nostalgia with them.
With the release of the jutsu, Kyo felt his spirit being crushed and revisited a dark spot in his mind. He thought about whether or not he failed Reo for being so weak and if he had been the true reason for his death. Reo taught him many, many lessons about life and the path of ninja, but hardly talked about loss and the way it hurt for a seemingly infinite amount of time. Reo too felt the loss Kyo feels today with the loss of his own parents and loved ones. To bear this burden could cripple Kyo from the inside out, but then the words Reo did say echoed into his head.
"When I lost my partner years ago, I remember realizing that loss is a double sided coin. You can see the pain of them being gone or go to the flip side and see the happiness they brought you to cause such grief."
With these words echoing, he did the transformation technique perfectly to be the hokage, but with a considerable strain from lack of chakra control. After that, he spared no time weaving the hand signs for the clone technique and moving onto his destiny of lighting the world. 
Ram, snake, tiger, and poof! A clone of himself appeared before him and he had been able to do it first try. Maybe it was because of his practice with this technique earlier or maybe it was because he knew himself a bit too well on the outside. He practiced moving his arms back and forth in front of the clone to see if it would mirror his actions. Every movement was done correctly and then he reached out and hugged his clone.
With a puff of smoke, the clone vanished and Kyo realized he might already been done with his training. However, Kyo felt he might try messing around with his new found powers.
Kyo tried the transformation technique again to transform into a wolf man he saw in a horror movie than smiled to himself in the mirror. He began to realize the strain was otherworldly from the jutsu, but easier than he had really expected. Now, he moved onto the clone technique, but refused to release the transformation technique. After weaving the hand signs with pleasure, he saw a clone of himself in a wolf man costume and smiled before feeling the full strain of the ability on his chakra network. It felt surreal to see such jutsu becoming a reality and felt empowering to see he was now finally able to do something other than sit in a class and practice chakra techniques.
The academy student left the training area feeling a mix of feelings all over again with the brightest being how he had come this far already.
"Once I become a Genin, I will chase the stars."
Kyo said before going home.
