Allegro vs Hayate
Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:26 pm
The conditions were very much the same as yesterday's matches, with wonderful weather but a gloomy crowd after the execution of one of the contestants. Risako was unable to attend to today's fight, but Miko took her place as the announcer.

An Uzumaki, hmmm....... These chuunin exams were beginning to look like a tour of the famous bloodlines of konoha. First the senju, and now the chakra chains. At least he hadn't run up against any of the dojutsu yet, though he heard there was still one in the tournament. And since it was down to four, he was counting on Asami to take that one out for him.
That is, if he could get past this obstacle. The whispers and rumors seemed to be all about this "Allegro", apparently a strong favorite Well, he's just have to prove them wrong. Out of the starting 12 they were down to 4, and both mist ninja were still in, with 8 ... scratch that, 7... leaf ninja waiting in the wings. He didn't get the full details, but apparently another famous KKG, the aburame, was disqualified for killing a swordsman. He wondered if the swordsman also had a famous bloodline, but quickly pushed the entire topic out of his head. He neither wanted to end up like the other swordsman nor the aburame. He'd have to remember to show restraint himself, if it came to it.
Hayate unsealed his fuma shuriken, strapping it to his back, and a box of spikes, adding them to his leg pouch. For good measure he also removed a roll of steel wire and two kunai, tieing each end of the wire to the loop on the handle of each kunai, before putting that in his pouch as well.
It was time. As he exited the protruding gates into the arena, he was impressed that they were so big, at least 6 meters tall, yet looked small compared to the 30 meter wall they stuck out from. And then the fuinjutsu and glass rose even from that, separating him from the viewers. And boy were there a lot of them. The area was packed, as it was down to the two semifinal matches, and this one featured the foreign Mist ninja against their own Allegro.
Sorry, Asami, He thought as he shook his head, remembering their BBQ conversation. I doubt theres many here hoping I win. Too bad for them, they'll have to sit through a mist vs mist final in silence.
The still young genin noticed he was the first in. He'd advance to 15m from the center of the arena, first grabbing his right shoulder with his left hand while swinging his right arm around in a few circles, then doing the same on the other side, loosening up. After he did so, he'd draw his sword into his left hand and wait.

Just a moment after Hayate, Allegro would also enter the arena from the polar opposite side. The Uzumaki approached with a serious demeanor on his face, almost to the point of intimidation. As he walked, he tied his hair into a neat ponytail, with his shinobi forehead protector and his headphones holding his hair securely in place, while only letting only one or two locks of hair dangle freely in front of his face. He then made sure that the gloves on his hands fit snuggly and securely. Finally, he would stop at the same 15 meter mark from the center of the arena and stare directly into Hayate’s eyes, his head bobbing up and down to the sound of music in his ears. The ninja before him stood 30 meters away, sword drawn.
Allegro thought to himself about his previous match, and how many were counting on him to do well. Unlike his match with Jason, there was absolutely no reason for Allegro to hold back or pull his punches. Unlike Jason, Allegro's new opponent had no problem getting close for hand to hand combat. The Uzumaki glanced at the design in the genin's blade, and found nothing particularly interesting that would present a danger to him. He would proceed with caution and end it quickly with a decisive blow. Strategies scattered through the boys mind on how to go about doing so; his thoughts like musical notes dancing around in his brain between the two speakers in his headphones. The crowd's loud cheer and excitement for the match to start would dull down into a murmur. Why was the Uzumaki just standing there, dancing around? His overly casual composure betrayed how seriously he was taking this match internally. The song had a hard boom bap sound with a heavy bass that could even faintly be heard from 30 meters away.

On the outside, the blonde genin clad in armor and mask barely moved as he calmy surveyed the approaching challenger. Internally, though......
Dammit, that looks so cool! Its like he doesn't care. I had my tape player and headphones too, I coulda out cooled him first and it would look like he was copying me, but NOOOOO I had to leave that back in the prep room. Well, my old tech still had those wires anyway, so I guess I still mighta came out the loser there anyway.
His eyes lost their faraway look as he came back to the situation at hand. At least he had gotten pretty good at not showing these internal dialogues by now. He hoped he had looked stoic.
Hayate slowly lifted his left hand holding the sword to his chest, the blade rising up in front of his face. He had turned the almost mirror seehend flat of the blades side to his opponent in a swordsman's salute, his equivalent of the sign of conflict these konoha nin seemed so fond of.
As soon as hayates opponent either made a similar sign, or a sudden movement, Hayate would begin a dash counter clockwise around his opponent, aiming to lower the distance to about 15m by the time he had made a quarter circle.
The first rule of a successfull ninja was preparation. Hayate hated standing toe to toe and fighting like this, no cover, no terrain, the opponent equally aware of your presence and ready. Real ninja struck when they had set up every advantage in their favor and the blow was a mere formality that the opponent wasnt even aware was coming. Never the less, it had to be done. His right hand, shielded from his opponent, would pull part of a scroll from his right leg pouch, keeping the core inside, and then slam the loose scroll against the outside of the pack with him palm, focusing chakra to make it pour out water. 15 sq meters of 2 inch deep water would pour out as he ran, marking his path.
Regardless of if you liked it or not, you had to get the job done. If the situation wasn't the way you liked it, make it that way.

Re: Allegro vs Hayate
Wed Jun 27, 2018 1:53 pm
Hayate was an outsider here in Konoha, probably unused to the traditions and customs upheld here in the Leaf village. And yet, he made a honorific gesture with his blade to show his intention to start the match. How noble. However, Allegro did not acknowledge it, and kept doing his funky dance. Was he rude, or just excessively carefree? Assuming Hayate would eventually make the first move, Allegro prepared himself accordingly. The Uzumaki extended his left arm towards the quickly approaching mist ninja while the other hand lowered the volume of the music in his headphones. Two senbon needles had been readied in his hand, concealed inside the sleeve of his loose fitting robe. Before Hayate could pull out his scroll with his right hand, Allegro would flick the senbon toward Hayate at 138 speed. One senbon hid under the shadow of the first, to throw Hayate off regarding the number of needles thrown. While the first senbon would have been straightforward, the second senbon, which had a small purple ball attached to its end, would have been slightly harder to detect. The first needle would strike Hayate’s left shoulder, in a pressure point that would make it difficult for the mist swordsman to lift his sword dominant hand. The second would pierce Hayate in the left knee.
Whether the needles connected with Hayate’s pressure points, or were deflected by his sword, the small purple ball would burst on impact. A plume of purple smoke would spew outward and expand to cover 20 meters of the battlefield, with Hayate at its center. In the instant the smoke bomb was detonated, Allegro took a moment to erect an invisible barrier with his hands clasped together. A fuinjutsu seal on the palms of his gloves began to glow as he did so, strengthening his barrier. Once within the confines of the barrier, Hayate would be well within the Uzumaki’s sight, even with the smoke clouding both of their vision. Since Allegro interrupted Hayate’s movement early, he would move closer to shorten the gap between them to 16 meters. He moved silently, completely void of any sound and brought 2 more senbon out from a hidden pouch in his sleeve. Allegro would flick the senbon to strike Hayate in the left elbow and in the lumbar region of his spine. This time, Hayate would not be able to react to something he could not see or hear. All the while Allegro could maintain a safe distance while getting a full read into his opponent’s abilities.
While the Uzumaki waited for the sound of the metal needles piercing flesh, he simultaneously removed a flute from the depths of his sleeves and started playing it. The music seemed to be in surround sound, as if emanated by the same speakers that the Miko the announcer broadcasted the contestants of this match to enter the arena. Allegro made sure that his location could not be deduced based on sound. In fact, Hayate wouldn’t be able to tell where the sound was coming from at all. The sounds would distract the samurai, and force him to decide which was more important: evading the senbon or being wary of whatever was to come with the sound of his sinister melody.

Re: Allegro vs Hayate

At the contestants were 30m away from each other, while just begining to circle his opponent and still reaching for his pouch, Hayate saw his opponent spring into action. The opponent flicked his wrist, sending out a thin silver streak, well before Hayate could get the scroll out. So much for thinking I could use pure speed to win, this guy is QUICK. Then his opponent waited until they either connected or were deflected
At this distance of the throw (30m), since hayate was circling the other genin at a little over 5/7 the speed of the senbon, the needle would have to be aimed just over 20 meters ahead of the Mist ninja as he ran, to hit him as the claim intended.
Hayate would see the needles being thrown at a point in front of him, and as he had plenty of time and distance to react, he would be able to turn his momentum just a few meters before the intersection point, letting the senbon - oh wow it was actually two senbon, thats MY trick! - whizz harmlessly past where he would have been. A plume of purple smoke exploded from the one aimed low as it hit the ground about 6 or so meters behind Hayate, but he was already running away from the smoke and towards his opponent faster than the smoke was expanding.
At the moment he turned, still running, he pulled out a shuriken with his right hand and threw it, infusing the paper tag on the bottom with chakra as he did so. It sailed off, aimed in between the uzumaki's knees (106 speed). As soon as it was out of his hand hayate was already drawing his fuuma shuriken, as he continued to close the distance, his blade held in front of him, from about 15m away. he would make sure to stay at least 4m back from his own projectile.

Re: Allegro vs Hayate
Thu Jun 28, 2018 12:54 am
Allegro watched carefully as the swordsman skillfully dodged the senbon needles and immediately began dashing towards him. The senbon would plant themselves in the soil 6 meters behind Hayate before he started running, and the smoke bomb would burst instantly on impact. Hayate would then run directly into the range of Allegro’s sensory barrier before the Uzumaki also started moving himself. The skillfully trained Uzumaki would have enough reaction speed to evade the shuriken that Hayate threw in response, even though the shuriken was not directly aimed at him, and would miss even if Allegro had not began moving. Furthermore, Allegro had more than enough speed to make a clean getaway before the explosion seal glued to it detonated.
The last thing Allegro would see before disappearing into the now fully spread smokescreen, was the blood dripping from wound where two of his needles rested deep within Hayate’s skin. One pierced his left elbow, possibly forcing him to drop his sword to the ground, and the other pierced him in his spine. To be able to walk for the remainder of the match, let alone continue the rest of his career as a shinobi, would be nothing short of a miracle. ’That's strange, he saw through the first round of senbon, but left himself wide open with the second round. I struck his pressure points, so this should be over quickly.’ The Uzumaki though to himself as he made sure he was a safe distance away from where the shuriken with the explosive tag had landed while he went on to play his flute. From the moment he was sure Hayate could no longer see him under the cover of the smokescreen, he would play a song from his flute exactly as intended.
Two kanji seals that took the shape of musical notes formed with the melody of Allegro’s flute. The seals slithered like snakes, and split up. One arced left, and the other arced right, but they both slithered at top speed with intentions to bind to their target. The seals are invisible to those without dojutsu, although the smoke would have made it hard to see anything anyway. If successful, one seal would bind to the swordsman’s right leg and the other would creep al the way up to the blade of Hayate’s sword, whether it be in his hand or on the ground as a result to the Mist ninja succumbing to his elbow wound. Allegro would play his sinister melody while carefully weaving the perfectly spun web for his opponent.

Koaru and I have agreed to no longer call a mod, we will resume with the following assumptions
A) Hayate threw his shuriken as the first senbon hit the ground
B) Allegros second set of senbon will hit Hayate, as said previously, with the exception of the one aimed at the spine hitting the front.
C) Allegro has the speed to dodge Hayates shuriken (and does so).
Koaru will post approving these conditions, and Hayate will resume from there, as Koaru posted last

- THE TEXT IN THIS SPOILER IS NO LONGER VALID, we have agreed to no longer call a mod (saved for posterity):
===================
OOC PAUSE while requesting a battlemod
(We did talk about this ooc first, and how my contention was the senbon never hitting me and exploding behind me meant i timelined things so i was never in any mist, and his actions with me in the mist wouldn't happen and he was free to take other ones instead. he insisted he would continue on.)
================
Denying the claim of senbon hit and of smoke in between uzumaki and hayate and two invisible seals.
Claiming hit with shuriken first and explosion
======================
The case is as follows:
-Hayate timelines to throw the shuriken immediately at turning to dodge the first senbon, before the rest of actions.
-This is before the smoke bomb detonates. Therefore the shuriken is flying before the sensory barrier is cast (koaru had specified he casts the sensory barrier AFTER the smoke bomb detonates).
-Koaru had said he would throw the second set of senbon after AFTER Hayate was inside the sensory barrier.
-The sensory barrier moves at 70 and is starting later than a shuriken moving at 106 speed. The shuriken would close the distance faster than the sensory barrier, and would hit Koaru before the barrier touched hayate (so before the second senbon were even thrown).
- Koaru claims "Hayate would then run directly into the range of Allegro’s sensory barrier before the Uzumaki also started moving himself." As the barrier didn't hit Hayate until after the shuriken would hit allegro, and allegro claims not to have moved until after the shuriken would hit, Allegro is hit with shuriken before even throwing senbon.
-Allegro is hit with an aim between the knees because allego started facing Hayate, and hayate made over 45 degrees of his semicircle around koaru before interacting with the first senbon (since thats what the math works out to). A throw from the side at a point between the knees would hit a person in a normal stance(which i am claiming koaru is in) in the rear leg. it would not leave a gap large enough for a shuriken to pass through (see image in spoiler below)
-Allegro claims he didn't move until after the hit as stated above, so no dodge could happen. I would have counted his wording as dodging if he hadn't claimed he didn't move, but he claimed he had enough speed to dodge, and could easily dodge, and dodging was possible but also claimed he stood still, meaning he never actually acted, just noted it was possible.- See image of how there is no gap between knees:
as koaru never claimed to turn, he's still facing hayate's starting point and just turhing his head to look at hayate, so is at a little over 45 deg angle.
==================================================- If the above doesn't end up in the hit described:
A) the smoke bomb explodes behind Hayate due to him turning before it. Hayate is running away from the smoke and toward uzumaki. and Hayate's faster than the speed of the smoke, so the smoke cannot catch up. Hayate (and uzumaki) are never in smoke.
B)Uzumaki's description of second set of senbon is throwing them at a hayate who cannot see him because he is in smoke. This (a hayate in smoke that can't see him) never happened, so the throw didn't happen.
C) uzumaki keeps referencing a smoke screen reaching him, but the smoke bomb exploded a little over 26-7 meters away from uzumaki, and has a 10m range, so the smoke can't possibly cover him
D) Can't see my spine if i'm facing you, so.... that hit can't happen
E) If he dodges the shuriken, thats an action i can timeline before the senbon are thrown.
F) the symphony of seals can effect A SEAL with music to make it move. not multiple seals.

Re: Allegro vs Hayate

OK so timeline so far.
Hayate runs counter clockwise around koaru, spiraling in on his opponent.
Allegro throws senbon at Hayate.
Hayate turns to run in toward Allegro before intersecting the senbon path, dodging it.
-As he Turns, Hayate throws a shuriken with paper bomb infused
-As Hayate throws, the senbon smoke explodes 6 meters behind him.
Allegro casts his barrier when the smoke goes off.
Hayate is 20m from allegro when the senbon explodes 26m from allegro.
Hayate runs at allegro at 102 speed. Allegro casts barrier which moves at 70 speed.
Hayate runs 12m in the time it takes the barrier to move 8m from allegro. They meet at this point, 8m from allegro. Allegro now starts moving.
Allegro throws his senbon at max speed (125.5), hayate still moving at 102
Hayate closes another 3.5 meters while the senbon moves 4.5, meeting 4.5 meters from allegro.
Allegro's dodge of the shuriken is directly the left of the shuriken (from hayates perspective) neither forward or backwards (it does not increase or decrease the distance between hayate and allegro, only increases the distance between him and the shuriken).
During this time, allego also dodges the shuriken with bomb. Allegro had told me he wants to dodge towards me to get closer to the smoke, and does not want me vague-ing him to the left as i initially claimed, despite my warning it will make my attacks closer. I will respect that wish. So, Allegro dodges the shuriken TOWARDS hayate. Since an explosive tag explodes ~1m and allegro should know this as a ninja, safe distance would be at least 1.5m.
So at the point of Senbon/Hayate contact, hayate and allegro are 3 meters apart Allegro posts have him taking no actions other actions until after the senbon hit, where he plays music for seals.

Hayate, breathing deeply from running, focuses his chakra and activates his BODY IS A WEAPON jutsu and throws his fuuma shuriken at high speed (156) at Allegro's navel from 3 meters away. As he does this, his increased reaction time barely has time to register the senbon thrown at high speed at close distance, but they are already upon him, and he has no time to dodge. One hits Hayate in the left elbow, and one above Hayate's navel.
The swordsman armor Hayate wore was designed to protect against the stabs and thrusts of swords, and performed admirably, the senbon deflecting harmlessly off of his chest, the area of heaviest protection. The one hitting his slightly weaker elbow sleeve actually did some damage to the sleeve, but as it wasn't 20 over the armor's value, the armor held without damaging Hayate, and the senbon tumbled harmlessly away
Hayate, now at speed 152, would continue after allegro as he played his music, and when he was within range to do so would swing his sword diagonally downward in a path that that would travel from his opponents right shoulder through the center of mass (rupture jutsu, swing at 182 speed). Though if he hit he would stop the swing two inches deep into his opponents shoulder, not finishing the path, trying not to kill. Hayate would also take care not to contact his own shuriken with his body or attack.
The wide arcs the invisible notes took, preparing for a slower speed Hayate, would have to change course and try and race the now rapidly speeding hayate to his target. Of course, Hayate had no way to know they were even on their way. He wrongly assumed the music was meant to set up genjutsu, and made his final push in an attempt to close the battle before he could succumb to his weakness.

141 AP remains.
Fuuma shuriken thrown.
Max speed and yadda yadda.
OOC Note - i continue to counter the claim the smoke reaches allegro. It's center is 26m away with a 10m radius. Hayate is constantly moving toward allegro, and responding to the action allegro takes. No action has been taken to pass hayate and run around to the smoke.
Allegro wrote:the smoke bomb would burst instantly on impact. Hayate would then run directly into the range of Allegro’s sensory barrier before the Uzumaki also started moving himself.

- Post Edit:
In the moment that Allegro dodged Hayate's first regular sized shuriken with the paper bomb attached and began playing his music, he noticed that Hayate stopped approaching about 4 meters from where the shuriken landed. Hayate was already holding another shuriken, void of any explosive tags, but at least 4 times in size. In response, Allegro brought himself to a new distance of 1 meter away from Hayate in the same motion that he dodged the shuriken with, and the cloudy smoke bomb still just on the other side of the Mist ninja. He concluded that 3-4 meters was more or less the correct distance to put between he and an explosion based on the precautions taken by the man that actually threw the shuriken. It appeared that the swordsman would not make robbing him of his sight an easy task after all. He would have to deceive the shinobi with his flute if he was going to win this match. As Allegro approached, threatening to collide head to head with Hayate, the Uzumaki scanned for an opening, and found one almost instantly. While one hand continued to play the notes of his precious flute, his other hand formed a hand seal. The hand seal was concealed by the sleeves of his draping robe so that he could not see what was coming. With this current distance from Hayate, Allegro could clearly see his moving seals planted securely on Hayate’s stomach and on the blade of his sword. Allegro expected no less; Hayate could not see the seals approaching from his blindspots. One came from the left, and the other from the right making it impossible to react to them both, even IF Hayate were able to visibly see them coming."BOOOOOOOM!!!"
By the time Hayate took his first long inhale, but before the exhale that would activated his booster, Allegro would detonate his explosion seal. The kanji on Hayate’s stomach would sizzle and then explode with enough power render Hayate unconscious. Meanwhile, the fuinjutsu array that spread below their feet would ensure that Hayate could not make a hasty escape. The seal was intricate in many ways, and would appear to stretch for 2 meters in each direction. With nowhere to run, both shinobi would be overcome by the blasts range, leaving another large plume of smoke just as the first one was starting to fade away. Even the shuriken that Hayate threw earlier would be blown away, if not detonated by chain reaction. The smoke would eventually clear to reveal Hayate with his armor burnt to tatters, his weapons scattered along the battlefield, and Allegro panting hard; the chakra barrier seal on his bare chest losing its power.
A swordsman who doesn’t even bother to use his sword? Something isn’t adding up. Yet, even though he began to notice something strange about Hayate’s fighting style, something that made this match difficult right from the very start, the Uzumaki never stopped playing his flute since he threw the senbon. His diligence as a musician was unparalleled. The seals he had cast with his music had bound into place just before the second pair of senbon hit Hayate, thanks to their ability to travel faster than his needles could soar through the air. Upon seeing what little regard the ninja had for head on attacks, Allegro decided that he would have to break out an attack with more force behind it. His free hand formed a single seal simultaneously as Hayate reached for his Fuma shuriken behind his back instead of looking for a means to deflect the senbon. The senbon would bounce away and fall to the ground with a TINK sound, letting Allegro know that whatever armor or augmenting jutsu Hayate was weilding would need to be put to a test of power.
Thanks to Allegro’s enhanced reaction time while within his barrier canopy, He noticed the sudden change in speed in Hayate's arm which held the large fuma shuriken. Since the ninja swordsman originally held the shuriken out in front of him, Hayate would have to first reel the shuriken back and then hurl it at Allegro once he reached a 3 meter distance. The explosion seal on Hayate’s sword would detonate before he had a chance to do so. Both shinobi would be overcome by the blast’s range, leaving another large plume of smoke just as the first one was starting to fade away. Even the original shuriken that Hayate threw earlier would be blown away, if not detonated by chain reaction. Both Hayate’s shuriken and Katana would be blown to smithereens, leaving fragmented steel and iron across the arena. The blast’s impact would send Allegro rolling backwards in a somersault, proving that his jutsu was still too strong for even he to withstand. This also was done to avoid any shrapnel that might be launched in his direction because of the blast. Hayate, who might not have faired as well as Allegro, would be launched to the other side of the arena for several meters. The smoke would eventually clear to reveal Hayate with his armor burnt to tatters, and his sword arm in particularly bad shape, being so close to the source of the blast. 15 meters away from him would stand Allegro, worn from heavy breathing and sweat, with the chakra barrier seal on his bare chest fading away. The seal of confrontation formed with his hand did not waver; the Uzumaki would not hesitate to dish out a second helping if that is what Hayate wished.
