Allegro vs Jason

Allegro was sitting backstage while a team of stagehands fixed his hair, wardrobe and even tried applying makeup before the Uzumaki resisted in distaste. His guitar was resting in his lap, and each string had just been finely tuned to perfection. Allegro looked in the mirror and have his devilishly handsome self a smile. Today was the day he would become a star. His very first stadium audience. There was so much to be excited for, and yet, there was a look of concern on his face. Allegro turned his attention to one of the stagehands that approached him. "You're on in 5 minutes, Allegro-san," the woman said before scurrying off with her clipboard and communication headset. Allegro nodded and then turned back to face the mirror. This time, he saw something different in the mirror. He saw his opponent for the first round, his very own brother, Jason Senju. To be faced with such internal conflict in the first round of the chuunin exams. The Hokage was not one for compassion, it would seem. Jason's face in the mirror seemed to give a comforting smile. This brought Allegro to ease as he thought to himself. 'Jason kun, let's do our best to become chuunin. Let's show everyone what we're made of.' The Uzumaki was somehow certain that his thoughts were reaching Jason loud and clear. Allegro stood up once he found his resolve, and the image of Jason in the mirror faded away. 

"Jason Senju and Allegro Uzumaki, you may enter the arena when ready."

Allegro walked down a deep, dark corridor that would lead him to the arena. His guitar was resting on his shoulder while he held onto the neck of the instrument with his right hand. Each footstep rang out clearly, building the anticipation as he approached the white light at the end of the tunnel. Allegro took a deep breathe and brought his guitar into playing position.



Allegro would play his first few notes before his figure appeared in the colosseum. His fingers plucked at each string so intricately, you could literally hear the years of practice it took for Allegro to play this well. The crowd would hear the beautiful sound of his guitar and wonder where it was coming from. The women in the crowd began to swoon as the Uzumaki's figure came to light. The crowd went nuts with applause. They had come to see a bloody fight to the death, but were surprised to see that they would also be getting a concert featuring the best music they had ever heard. He would only end his musical serenade when his eyes met with Jason's. Once both ninja entered the field Allegro would dispel his guitar in a puff of smoke and bow chivalrously to the audience that was applauding them. Allegro would then raise his right fist towards Jason. The same fist that Jason had bumped on the day that Konoha Team 7 was formed. If Jason knew Allegro well, then he knew that Allegro would have few words to say. He would subsequently turn his closed first into the seal of confrontation and wait for Jason to begin.

Stats:

The day had finally come. Today was the day the Chuunin exams were set to begin. Sitting in a room as he waited to be called onto the stage, Jason was deep in thought. He was excited to be able to test himself against the other Genin and get the chance to hopefully fight more Kirigakure shinobi, but really it was bittersweet. His brother and teammate, Allegro Uzumaki, was to be his very first opponent in these exams. The Hokage seemed to have a warped sense of humor for putting brothers against each other straight from the start. He wanted to win. He wanted to get acknowledged by the Hokage and everyone watching and earn the promotion to Chuunin, but he didn't want Allegro to lose either. His fists clenched the cloth of his pants just above his knees as the thought that at least one member of Team 7 was sure to fail. The chances of all three of them passing were suddenly cut to 0 in no time at all.

His thoughts were cut short by a sudden intrusion in his mind, though a welcome one. 'Jason kun, let's do our best to become chuunin. Let's show everyone what we're made of.' It was Allegro. The telepathy seal he had placed on all of Team 7 during their first mission together was being used now to steel their resolve. Jason was sure Allegro felt the same way, the same conflicting emotions about having to fight his brother, but he wasn't going to hold back and he didn't want Jason to either. No. If they did, they would just be disrespecting each other's wishes and dreams. That one sentence had cleared the Genin's mind and helped him to decide how he was going to fight this battle.

'You got it, brother. We'll definitely show them Team 7 never backs down and overcomes any obstacle!'/[i]

His heart was racing now, out of excitement to test himself against Allegro instead of anxiety about fighting his teammate. The Hokage's voice rang out through the stadium. It was time for the first match of the exams to begin. Jason took a deep breath and slowly got up from his seat before walking down the long, dark hallway toward the arena. He could hear the crowd cheering as he walked, accompanied by the familiar sound of his brother's guitar. He couldn't help but smile knowing Allegro wouldn't pass up this chance to show his musical talents off to a crowd this size. His goal [i]was to become the world's greatest musician after all.

Jason stepped into the arena, and it took a moment for his eyes to adjust to the bright light. Once they did, he caught sight of his brother's outstretched fist and a smile on the red-headed Uzumaki. It was the same fist they had bumped together when first deciding to become brothers. It might not mean much to those watching, but it meant everything to the two of them. It was a promise that no matter what happened in this match, there would be no hard feelings and still have each other's backs as always. They would still be brothers. Still smiling, Jason stretched his own right fist out to mirror Allegro, letting him know the message was received loud and clear, and that he couldn't be happier.

They stood like that for another moment before Allegro changed his hand from a fist to the seal of confrontation, signaling that he was ready to begin. Jason did the same, and then the match really started.

The center of the arena was between them, being 5 meters from either one. Without any hesitation, Jason's seal of confrontation was quickly made into the Tiger hand seal as it came together with his left hand. Immediately afterward, the arena began to fill with a light mist. It wasn't thick enough to hinder anyone's vision, but at least it was in place and could be thickened at will at any time he chose. Not only that, but now there was a huge body of water that he could take advantage of when the time was right. From there, the Tiger seal was changed to the Bird seal as fast as Jason's body would allow. Ten 4 inch by 4 inch shuriken were formed 1ft in front of him immediately following the seal and launched at the Uzumaki. The second they were launched, Jason's right hand flew back to his weapons pouch and took hold of a kunai knife in a reverse grip which he then held at the ready in front of him.

The water shuriken were guided by his chakra to home in on Allegro if he dodged, though Jason knew his brother was able to move much quicker than they could. He was prepared for that, however, and kept his eyes trained on his opponent the entire time, ready to react to anything.

The fire in Allegro's eyes clashed with the ocean blue color in Jason's eyes as the two genin exchanged the Konoha shinobi custom and began the match. The Uzumaki and the Senju, said to have deep ancestral ties, were brought together yet again by fate. Who would posses the stronger Will of Fire today in this test? Allegro knew his teammate well from endless days and nights of training, missions, and leisure, and it was because of this that the boy felt confident that he could best Jason. From his last training session with his teammates, he learned that both Higuto and Jason tended to avoid close combat. Though he was no taijutsu aficionado himself, Allegro had mentally prepared himself to play the roll as the aggressor from the start. As expected, the Senju motioned to form the hand seal for his Mist jutsu. Allegro moved instinctively at a speed quicker than Jason's to form a seal and clear the 10 meter gap between the two genin before Jason could even blink. Allegro stopped just a meter in front of Jason with his right fist cocked back and black marks starting to trickle through the knuckles of his fist. His red dreadlocks scattered about due to the recoil of the ridiculous speed the genin had displayed. By the time Jason brings his hands together, Allegro would have punched Jason deep in the stomach. He motioned in a way to allow Jason to hunch over the strength of Allegro's punch and cough out any spit or blood.

Allegro quickly retracted his fist once the punch landed, which would likely result in Jason crumpling down to his knees before the Uzumaki. Even with the Senju's notorious durability, compared to Allegro's strength, it would be enough to severely wind him. That Uzumaki had one hell of a right hook! Allegro would immediately follow up by bringing the same hand to form a chopping formation. Chakra set his hand ablaze just as he aimed for a spot on Jason neck that he recognized from his studies on the Human Body, The Ultimate Machine. He would aim true and seek to end the fight as painlessly for his dear friend as possible. The sympathy he felt, however, was totally absent from the steel expression on his face; his resolve to win, unfaltering. 

He was observing carefully and guiding his hand steadily to steer clear of any sudden protrusions in his opponent's skin. When this attack landed, he would take a step back to see if that was all it would take to end it. 

Jutsu:

Jason knew both of his teammates were a lot faster than he was, and here was the unobstructed truth of that fact. Before he was able to bring his hands together to for a single seal, Allegro had closed the gap between them and was readying an attack. He didn't just move fast, he moved faster than Jason could even comprehend. One instant the Uzumaki was 10 meters in front of him and the next....he was directly in front of the Senju not looking very friendly. This fight meant everything for the two of them. For Jason, it meant getting acknowledged by his fellow Konoha ninja, the Hokage herself, and an ambassador for Kirigakure. All of which he would eventually need if he were going to become Hokage one day. For Allegro, it was much the same, except he needed it to market himself as a masterful musician.

There wasn't time to think, only to react. Sure, hand to hand combat wasn't exactly his strong suit, but that didn't mean he wasn't capable either. Everyone learned the basics of taijutsu in the academy before they graduated. It was a mandatory part of the curriculum.

He saw the punch coming and knew it was aimed at his gut, even thought he might be able to deflect it. So that was exactly what he tried to do. With his right arm still outstretched from the greeting both members of Team 7 had done, it wasn't much movement at all for him to bring it down onto Allegro's right arm. What happened was definitely not what he had expected. It was like trying to chop a brick wall with his bare hand. At least two bones in his hand fractured on contact, and nothing happened to Allegro at all. When had he become so strong? It didn't matter. Before Jason could think to do anything else, he was hunched over holding his gut; the days breakfast was spewed up onto the arena floor and lights flooded his vision. Still, out of pure reflex, he was able to bring his hands together to form a single seal: Ram. With his broken hand it caused a lot of pain to surge up his right arm, but he fought through it. Probably from the adrenaline.

He was hunched over on the ground, seemingly in the fetal position, so he was sure his brother wouldn't have been able to notice the seal he had formed. Even so, they were partners and Allegro knew of this particular wood style jutsu having seen it in action before. Honestly, it was his most versatile technique: Wood Release: Cutting. Immediately, a wooden spike protruded from the back of Jason's neck and spread to encase his body in a sort of wooden dome, detaching from the Genin's body. Seven other wooden protrusions did the same, adding layer upon layer that would have to be broken through in order to reach him. At the same time this was going on, with Jason's hands still forming the Ram seal, a massive amount of water shot forth from Jason's mouth that propelled him 20 meters into the air where he stayed atop a pillar of water.

From the base of the water pillar, 20 meter high waves traveled outward in every direction to crash 25 meters away from its origin before pulling anything caught in its vicinity back toward the center and forming an enormous sphere of water 50 meters in diameter with anyone caught in the waves being sucked inside of it. He couldn't see what was going on, still trying to recover from the attack his brother had landed earlier, but if things went well the Uzumaki would be trapped inside the sphere. If he were, he would find his movements were a little slower than they had been just moments ago. Of course, though Allegro wouldn't know it just yet, Jason's movements had the opposite effect and became much faster. The Uzumaki might have landed the first blow, but Jason was not about to let this match end so quickly. Hopefully, things were about to become a lot more interesting.

Soon after retracting his fist from the depths of Jason's stomach, Allegro watched his opponent fall to his knees. As he brought his hand up for the follow attack, he was keen to pick up on Jason's fluctuation of chakra with his sensory skills. He instantly recognized the mokuton chakra that made the Senju clan famous in the Leaf village, and it was the very same signal for Allegro to get out of there. He knew exactly what was coming, and it would not be good. The Uzumaki chose to interrupt his own action before casting the chakra absorption technique and leap out of harms way just as Jason cast the Wood Cutting technique. The first spike of would graze the thickly dreaded red hair dangling in around of his face before he launched himself backwards. The other wooden spikes follows shortly after Allegro had flee and formed an impressive 7 layered semi dome to separate the two genin momentarily.

Well that was new. Allegro came skidding to a stop some 15 meters away by the time Jason's dome of wood was fully assembled. Jason knew all too well that Allegro could demolish his wooden constructs almost as quickly as Jason could create them. Therefore, Allegro concluded that this was just a distraction while Jason cooked up some kind of counterattack. Soon enough, Allegro noticed the burst of water coming from behind the dome. Jason shot upward standing on a pillar of water, washing away anything in its path. The wooden dome had apparently been disconnected from Jason's body, and has thus become a vagueable object. The dome with less health than the Senju's new Suiton jutsu would soon break apart into fragments as the waves closed in dangerously on Allegro. Before Jason reached the peak of his water pillar 20 meters up, Allegro was already running away with his arms lagging behind him. He hopped out of the way of each crashing wave while just outside of the 25 meter mark, and eventually jumped on top of a large fragment of the dome that Jason had left behind to be washed away with his jutsu. The musical ninja improvised and fashioned a makeshift boat from the wreckage, and continued to distance himself from the proficient suiton user. 

Before he got too far away, however,  Allegro would launch 5 shuriken from both hands directly at Jason (126 Speed/73 Sharpness). Since it was never specified otherwise, we can assume that Jason is still facing away from the direction that he erected his wooden barrier in. In other words, Jason had left his blindside wide open. Jason had a new trick up his sleeve this entire time, it seems. Such a high level jutsu as this one would undoubtedly require incredible amounts of chakra and concentration to perform correctly. Allegro would use that instant of distraction to his advantage. The shuriken would cut through the air without making much sound, especially under the drowning sound of the waterfall coming from the Senju's mouth, no pun intended. One shuriken would clip his Jason's earlobe, the next would cut through the clothing on his left shoulder. The following three would land right on target into Jason's back. Allegro threw them with enough force to push his opponent off of his pillar of water to come crashing down. Meanwhile, Allegro moved simultaneously with the now flying shuriken, and formed a set of hand seals while Jason's back is still turned. While he hoped that this would be enough to undo this monstrous jutsu, it would not hurt to be cautious. He was grateful to Jason for giving him a good footing to jump off of if this water proved to be more dangerous that in originally appeared. Even if Jason somehow evaded the shuriken, Allegro would have the opportunity to observe the wave pattern of the water below him, and respond accordingly. When the sphere began to form Allegro would notice the strange movement of the wave pattern and deem it the right time to jump off of his raft. He rode the waves  close enough to be in jumping distance from the walls of the arena. Allegro stood horizontally along the vertical arena walls with chakra at his feet while he continued to observe Jason's jutsu from over 50 meters away.

Jutsu:

Jason was propelled into the air by his jutsu, the force of which had removed four of his seven layers of wooden protection from above him. He was still in the fetal position, with his back to the sky and the domes covering it, so he couldn't really see what was going on around him. It didn't help that he lacked the ability to sense chakra, either, when he knew Allegro could do so. That was just one of many disadvantages he had going into this fight. Still, if it hadn't done anything else, the use of Great Exploding Colliding Wave gave Jason time to recover and think. He was able to catch his breath before the waves came back in and inevitably formed the fifty meter diameter sphere.

Unbeknownst to Jason, however, his brother had managed to escape the crashing waves by using the wooden domes that had been flung from Jason's back as a makeshift raft. It seemed the Uzumaki took that time to launch another attack on the Senju in the form of five thrown shuriken. Two of them actually nicked Jason, one each cutting his earlobe and left shoulder. The remaining three, though, sunk deep into the wooden dome with three loud *THUD*s. 'Damn he's really trying hard. I guess I should probably pick things up a notch too.' he thought to himself. Standing up straight, Jason was just in time to see Allegro mid-jump towards the arena wall exactly fifty meters away while the waves formed a fifty meter diameter sphere of water surrounding Jason at the center. The remaining three wooden domes floated harmlessly inside of the sphere. Sure, Allegro was safe from the water style technique where he was on the wall, but that meant Jason was safe from him too.

Now that he finally had some breathing room, Jason could think about the match so far. What had happened until this point? He had tried to keep his distance with ranged attacks, and then used this water style technique to try and either catch Allegro in a trap or force him to retreat to regain that comfortable gap. Allegro knew how Jason fought, knew that he liked to keep his distance and never got close unless he had too. Because of that, Allegro thought his brother's weakness was hand to hand combat. It was true, for the most part, but close quarters wasn't exactly a weakness if he was prepared. So, with everything playing out the way that it was, Jason had an opportunity to turn his disadvantage into a trap. He decided on a plan, one that would involve some strategic actions that took advantage of Allegro's train of thought and got him right where he wanted him.

'Jeez man, where were you hiding all that strength!?' he said to his brother through their telepathic link as he moved toward the opposite wall from Allegro. 'I guess you forgot about giving the crowd a show and a taste of your musical prowess? You'll never get your talents recognized if you keep coming at me head on like that punch' It was a taunt meant to have the opposite effect his brother might think it was meant for. In fact, Jason was trying to ensure that Allegro actually did come in close. It would certainly spell the end of the match and the exams if he did.

Jason continued to move along with the sphere, until the edge of it reached the wall behind him at which point he would stop moving and drop to the bottom of the sphere where it touched the floor. Now that he had his plan in the beginning stages, Jason would calmly wait there safe inside the sphere as he watched Allegro carefully for his next move.

As soon as the Uzumaki's sandals touched the surface of the stadium wall, he did enough backflips up the wall to distance himself from the arena floor by 50 meters. He landed in a sitting position over the edge of the fuinjutsu enhanced glass barrier protecting the audience while he watched the giant water bubble form on the battlefield, with Jason at its center. Of course, as expected, this would not be easy. Jeez, why did he had to go and get matched up with a monster like Jason Senju? The boy was the only genin to fight valiantly against the ninja of the Mist village during their invasion of Konoha. Allegro could totally understand his resolve to progress in this tournament and face off against the genin presented to represent the Mist. But, would Jason's resolve outweigh Allegro's?

The fuinjutsu specialist could not help but admire the detail that went into the barrier he was sitting so casually on. There were no rules against standing on the barrier or being out of bounds, so he had hoped this was alright. His eyes would soon wander amongst the crowd and meet with the Hokage's. She had happened to be sitting rather close to where he currently was, and dressed inconspicuously, but since she did nothing to hide her chakra presence, she stuck out like a sore thumb to the sensory capable genin. He expected no less from the Lord Hokage, the woman who wore the title of strongest Fuinjutsu master in the Leaf Village. Allegro also recognized her pudgy assistant sitting not too far away. Miko, was her name, and Allegro had only met her in passing. The fleeting exchange would end and Allegro would eventually turn his attention back to Jason just as he began to hear his voice via the Telepathy seal. 'Jeez man, where were you hiding all that strength!? I guess you forgot about giving the crowd a show and a taste of your musical prowess? You'll never get your talents recognized if you keep coming at me head on like that punch' It was then that Jason started moving away from Allegro. He was shocked to see that the enormous mass of water was moving along with him. It finally halted when it was on the other side of the arena from him. Jason was retreating. He could look down and see Jason about 25 meters deep. The senju's figure would soon fade from sight, however, as he sunk deeper and deeper,  appearing as if he was drowning. Speaking of drowning, Allegro did wonder how long the Senju could last down there holding his breathe,

'Hehe, did I surprise you with my groovy moves, Jason kun~? I really got you good at first.... But then I thought I was a goner when you pulled out THIS ace in the hole. I can't believe you can conjure this much water without a nearby source......

Oh! N-no, you're right. This is our big chance to make Kinzoku sensei proud. We both have ambitions to fight for, so show me the resolve of the man who will become Hokage, Jason kun!.. 

I WONT HOLD BACK!!'

The boy was communicating so much through his telepathic link with Jason than he had ever spoken in any given day. Was this a ploy to stall for time while Jason held his breathe, or was this genuine? What was making him so excited -- so happy? Was it the opportunity to trade fists with someone he loved and respected? Possibly. His blood boiled as things grew more intense as the music in his headphones increased in volume. He began dashing around the perimeter of the arena to where Jason now was. The Uzumaki would have simultaneously reached into the loose sleeves of his robe and pull out a strange bulbous looking flute and got into a comfortable sitting position with one leg dangling over the edge. His lips would meet with the flute and begin playing just as he finished his bold mental exclamation.



In actuality, this was not a battle cry that would be followed by some tremendous display of chakra or strength. Nah, thats something someone who was trying to impress the Hokage would do. Allegro was playing with all his might, trying his very hardest to impress the audience. From this height, all eyes would be on him, he would deliver each note with emotion that every member of the audience could feel.  He wanted to have everyone cheering his name by the end of the match, so he jump and skipped along the way, engaging a few members of the audience along the way as he played his music. As he played, his eyes widened as he formed an epiphany. Strategies were flowing out his mind like notes were cranking out of his flute. It was like playing music was what got Allegro going in full gear.  Allegro would only stop running once The dome of water was directly under him. It was there he would stay while observing the bubble and forming a master plan. All the while, Jason would be at the bottom of his bubble, probably gasping for air at this point.

For a man of very few words, Allegro kun seemed to be talking a hell of a lot through their telepathic link. He seemed to be enjoying himself, but so was Jason. This match was important for both of them, though for very different reasons. Jason caught sight of Allegro's glance into the stands, locking eyes with someone Jason couldn't see before returning his attention to the fight at hand.

It seemed like Jason's plan to draw Allegro in might have worked, but he was still using caution. The Senju watched as his brother made his way around the arena wall to stop a good fifty meters above Jason and just kind of...hung out on the fuinjutsu enhanced glass barrier and started playing his flute. Anyone watching over the match may not think so, but after the silent conversation the two members of Team 7 had just had, Jason knew it wasn't an attack or defense. In fact it wasn't any type of jutsu at all nor was it related to the match. Allegro was aspiring to be the world's greatest musician and entertainer. This stadium was the perfect stage for him to show off his talents to not only everyone in konoha, but to members of Kirigakure as well.

With his eyes trained on Allegro above, Jason continued to use this time to relax as he listened to his brother's masterful music. See he still had plenty of time before he needed to resurface for air or his jutsu ended. Thankfully, Jason had been practicing with this specific technique every chance he got. It had only been less than a minute since the sphere was formed, and he could hold his breath for at least six. That was plenty of time to stall and get the Uzumaki to close in. 'You really are amazing when it comes to your musical talents. Keep it up man! You'll get their blood pumping in no time!'

He stayed in the sphere's safe zone, fifty meters below Allegro as the music rang out through the stadium. It was calming, methodical, in a good way. 'That's all you need to do here, get your talents with music recognized. That's why you became a ninja, isn't it? There's no reason for you to use that crazy, inhuman speed and strength to take me out and impress the Hokage. That's my job. You just gotta stay where you are and keep playing your music bro!' If he couldn't get Allegro to come in close, maybe he could convince him to give up once he's really shown his stuff. Making Chuunin was never his goal anyway, it was always to get recognized as a musician.

Allegro did not mind waiting one bit. He sat there with his legs folded while he continued playing his strange looking flute. While Jason was expending chakra, Allegro would take his time to savor every note. He sat there bravely facing the big blue blob as he played, as if to tame a mighty beast with his notes. 

A Wild Jason Appeared:

Allegro would finally stop his playing once the jutsu's duration expired and the water began to melt away, softening the dirt ground and leaving Jason exposed.
