Re: Allegro vs Jason
Sat Jun 09, 2018 8:55 pm
For the first couple of minutes, the sound of the flute was relaxing and helped him think. The longer Allegro continued to play, however, the closer Jason got to running out of air. Before he did though, he brought his hands together to form the seal he had wanted to when the match had first started. The Tiger seal was formed, and mist flooded the arena, over half of its surface area disappeared in a thick mist. The flute continued to play while the floor of the arena disappeared into white mystery. It reached higher than the sphere of water, so even if the jutsu had ended Allegro wouldn't be able to tell by sight.
Once the mist was fully in place, the "ace" in the hole for Jason, or so Allegro thought, would finally end. As the jutsu finished, waves rolled outward from Jason one hundred meters in every direction before they crashed and left an excessive amount of water all over the arena floor. While that was happening, Jason had formed another, single, seal and a second Jason Senju appeared in a white cloud of smoke while the original ran as fast as he possibly could to the opposite edge of the mist from where Allegro was on the wall. When he got there, the mist thinned just enough that you could see exactly twenty-five meters through it which meant from where Allegro was he could see the clone, but not the original. Of course, the opposite was true as well. However, he would be able to tell that the sphere of water had dispelled and the jutsu had ended, which meant so did the playing of the flute.
Now, the waiting game continues. The mist obscured the original from sight and chakra sensory, but he still needed to somehow get Allegro to close in on him. His taunts so far didn't seem to be working, but he wasn't going to give up on it either. 'That was beautiful, Allegro kun. If you were trying to wait out my lung capacity though, probably not the smartest idea. You really shouldn't have stopped playing, either. It was very relaxing. Think you could get my heart racing with your guitar?
Keep his mind off the match. Keep him focused on his music and entertaining the crowd. That was key to victory, at least one possible victory anyway. The other was stay away long enough to wear down Allegro's patience and resolve so he makes a mistake and gets too close. Either way, if he chose one of those two paths Jason was sure he would win this. His resolve would not waver. He was going to become the Hokage one day, and this was the first step toward achieving that goal.

Re: Allegro vs Jason
Sat Jun 09, 2018 11:50 pm
One eye poked open, allowing Allegro to notice that a mist was just beginning to form around the arena. It would appear Allegro was no longer concerned with preventing Jason from casting it, from the way the same eye returned to its closed position. He clicked the red button on his headphones as he continued playing from the flute. Perhaps that meant that Allegro had planned for this in his strategy. The Uzumaki sustained the last few notes of his song and assumed a perfectly still position with his flute in both hands and legs in a folded position. His chakra began to swell and take the shape of an invisible barrier with kanji markings on it inflated around the Uzumaki. He would finally open his eyes and unravel his legs to poise himself for a great dive while one hand unclicked the same red button on his headphones. Yosh! Now that Allegro had finished playing a song with all his heart and soul, he was ready to go in for the finish. He removed the flute from his lips with one hand, and yet the music was still playing. Since Jason had elected to sacrifice his own vision for the sake of evasive measures, Allegro would use the opportunity to play tricks on him. Allegro had been playing his music for most of the match so far, without having raised too much concern or suspicion in his opponent. So it stands to reason that Jason would continue to think Allegro was perched atop the wall playing his flute, when in actuality it was the looped audio being manipulated via Allegro's chakra. Jason would be unable to verify Allegro's location with eyesight due to the Hidden Mist jutsu. Since he was expecting Allegro to stop playing, the fact that he didn't would probably through the genin off.
The sound of the giant water bubble being reduced to clashing waves was his cue, and with a grin on his face, Allegro took a silent dive head first to where he last saw Jason standing. Allegro applied Futon chakra to the soles of his feet while forming a string of hand seals as he descended towards the small sea that the arena had been transformed into thanks to Jason's technique. At the same time, 10 pale looking clones of Allegro crawled out from the depths of the water below holding kunai knives in a way that completely surrounded Jason throughout a 20 meter radius on all sides. About 10 meters away from where Jason stood once the waves of his jutsu subsided, The original Allegro landed silently and inconspicuously among the crowd of clones at the point in timeline where Jason begins to forms a clone of his own before he begins running away once again. Allegro disguised himself to blend in with his clones and drew a kunai of his own from deep within the sleeve of his robe. Simultaneously, in the moment Jason began to move to form the Shadow Clone seal, Allegro locked on to the Senju's location and activated the seal that would spread all over Jason's body like disease. The markings were thick, black and were strong enough to bind Jason just before he could finish forming the hand seal for the shadow clone jutsu. Since Allegro knew Jason's exact location even in the mist, he immediately dashed silently through the mist towards the Jason, assuming he was completely paralyzed.
In the event that Jason somehow avoided being stunned by fuinjutsu, Allegro would command the clones to distract Jason's clone while he switched tactics on a dime, and blended in with the crowd, remaining undetectable. Without being able to see clearly, Jason would unable to distinguish the difference between the original and the clones, and would inevitably stumble across at least one out of the ten clones if he decided to follow through on his actions to run. When that happened, Jason would find that the clone was already poised to sink his kunai in his target, as if he knew Jason was coming. Because the mist was so thick, Jason and the clone would have to be very close for him to actually see it, making dodging it that much harder. Allegro could control the servants' movements in alignment with his own reaction speed to Jason's movement so that they would attempt to strike him with their kunai knife just as Jason entered striking range. Upon seeing Allegro's shadowy figure so suddenly in the thick mist, one might hesitate, or at least redirect their path to avoid being hit. Jason had no way of knowing that these clones could not truly cause any bodily harm, since he did not see the hand seals used to cast the simple jutsu. Because this happened before Jason formed his clone, Jason would be surprised to see that he could not move at all and that he was seeing Allegro's shadowy figure in the thick of the mist. For all Jason knew, Allegro was still playing his flute on top of the arena wall. Though the range of his ventriloquism was not great, he could angle it in a way that would make it seem like the musical ninja was far away, instead of rapidly closing in on target.
Nonetheless, Allegro brought himself behind Jason's frozen body as fast and quietly as possible and raised his kunai to rest just above the Senju's jugular vein. Allegro would expect Jason to dispel his shadow clone immediately and then his mist thereafter. Allegro spoke audibly for the first time since the match began.
"Sorry Jason-kun, but the Show is over."

Re: Allegro vs Jason

Jason’s plan for victory had been completely set up at this point. He had been patient, methodical, manipulative, and determined. Though he may feel a little guilty about manipulating his brother, Allegro, he wasn’t about to let that stop him from doing what he needed to in order to win this match. The moment Allegro has decided that he was going to finish this fight in close quarters, he had sealed his own fate.
Now was the time to enact the final stage of his plan, though he didn’t know that just yet. Having formed his shadow clone at the exact same moment he dispelled his water style jutsu, the clone instead had begun his maximum speed dash to the opposite of the arena by the time the Uzumaki had dove into the air from his perch above. Jason, of course, had not moved and kept his eyes looking up at the position he last knew Allegro to be, and switched his hands to be positioned in the form of the Snake hand seal. The only problem was, he couldn't see a damn thing. He decided to begin thinning the mist then, so that he could see exactly twenty-five meters through it. That wouldn't exactly happen as fast as he had hoped, though.
This didn’t worry him, though, because Jason was using his real ace: Wood Release: Nativity of a Sea of Trees. Having his hands already in position for the required seal, countless large roots sprouted from every inch of the arena floor and wall surrounding Jason within thirty meters from him. This happened the instant Jason was able to see him, which was when he was 1 meter above the ground. With his hands already in place, though, the jutsu was able to be cast with no movement on his end. Unfortunately, it didn't leave much time to do what was needed.
As the roots grew, they inevitably went through the clones of Allegro, showing Jason they didn't need to be feared, on their way to accomplish their single goal: capture and restrain the one in the air. Jason didn’t know whether it was his taunts that caused his brother to leave the safety of his perch and close in, or if it were some other factor. He only knew this: diving off the wall like that was a grave mistake. Every single one of the roots were manipulated extensively by Jason in such a way that they would not hurt or hinder him in any manner, but instead worked together to either wrap themselves tightly around Allegro’s entire body, or each of his individual limbs. Each of them were a foot in diameter at their widest, tapering down to an incredibly fine tip. With at least a hundred, if not more, roots all working together from every direction while the Uzumaki was just above the ground, surely there was no way he could evade all of them while in mid-air, right? At least now he could see twenty-five meters away, not that it helped.
Even if Allegro somehow managed to evade them all, there were countless more roots waiting for him that would act to bind him in place as soon as they got the chance. If that still didn’t work, well the Senju had a plan for that too.
If everything went according to plan and he managed to catch Allegro in his attack, the match would be over. Jason would use the telepathic link to speak to his brother. ’I told you you should have stayed up there playing your music, bro. Sorry it had to end this way.’ While mentally speaking, Jason would clear away the mist and finally reveal what was happening to all of the spectators in the stadium above. “Uh, I think the match is over! Can someone come down here and cut Allegro out of that root for me?”
If Allegro somehow managed to miraculously evade all of these roots, then Jason was already prepared to counter whatever his brother had in store with his final card.

Re: Allegro vs Jason
Sun Jun 10, 2018 6:08 pm
Fate...? What is that, anyway? Whatever it was, it certainly sounded like something Allegro would never submit to. That's just who he was. As he dived, he remained close to the walls of the stadium. It was important that he remain as silent as an owl if he was going to successfully use the Hidden Mist Jutsu against its caster. This was the fighting style he had developed especially for the Mist ninja that were participating in this exam, and he had Jason to thank for giving him plenty of fighting experience against Suiton ninjutsu users in past sparring exercises. When he had dropped low enough in altitude, Allegro used his legs to push off of the stone arena walls, angled to where he last saw Jason standing before the mist took over. This would redirect his trajectory to land 10 meters from where Jason stood.
Once the genin fell within 20 meters of the arena floor where Jason and his newly formed shadow clone had just entered within range of the Uzumaki's barrier, he immediately reacted when he noticed the clone making a run for it at full speed. By this time, Jason had already been paralyzed, before he could form another seal. Allegro twirled in a downward spiral several times in the air as he continued to fall while 2 senbon slid and found their way into the Uzumaki's free hand. His fingers conveyed a minuscule fuinjutsu seal on each needle, invisible to all except a rare few skilled in the sealing arts. Allegro would launch his needles simultaneously to strike Jason in the foot, and the clone in the lower spine before it could clear even 20 meters towards the other end of the stadium. He immediately snapped his arm back and lifted his fingers to his mouth to make a whistling noise. He was repurposing his Ventriloquism technique to mimic the sound of multiple senbon whistling through the air coming from any and every direction. This would would make it very hard for the clone to know where the attack was coming from, since he would be unable to rely on sight and hearing.
Finally, the genin would land 10 meters away from the Original Jason. He blended perfectly with the mist servants as they dragged themselves along randomly towards Jason like a horde of zombies. The first thing Jason would see, if at all, was the horde of clones, not Allegro directly. The taller, darker genin noticed the mist beginning to lighten up. This motivated Allegro to push forward discretely under the cover of the bodies created by the Mist servant technique at full speed towards Jason's backside. Jason's head was paralyzed in an upward position, where Jason was last looking before he was paralyzed, making it impossible to visually track Allegro's movement behind him. This fact would only add to the likelihood of Allegro dodging and weaving through a incoming attacks, since Jason couldn't properly aim his attack or sense where the Uzumaki was coming from. This was thanks to his use of the ventriloquism technique, in which Allegro deceived Jason into thinking the Uzumaki was still on top of the stadium walls for as long as possible. When he finally closed the 10 meter gap between them while simultaneously drawing another kunai from the depths of his robe's sleeve, he remembered to be cautious about any last hidden surprises, though he had one of his own. Before he spoke, Allegro observed the needle piercing Jason's foot through his sandals while he pressed a knife to Jason's long and exposed neck insisting that he cease and desist with his jutsu immediately. '♫ Groovy~ ♫ This one's the real deal, not a clone...'
With Jason totally immobilized, the mist would hopefully clear completely to reveal a bright and sunny Konoha sun, the pair of genin, and a sight that would indicate a clear winner in the First Round.

For the record and for clarification in the timeline of events, Jace and I have come to an agreement via Skype that Jason's mist weakens at the point where Allegro is only 1 meter above the arena floor.Koaru wrote:Simultaneously, in the moment Jason began to move to form the Shadow Clone seal, Allegro locked on to the Senju's location and activated the seal that would spread all over Jason's body like disease. According to this, Jason has been paralyzed since the formation of the hand seal for the Shadow Clone seal, and before he was able to form the hand seal for Nativity. With or without Nativity, Allegro would have completed his actions from the previous round of posting uninterrupted.

- “OOC”:
- Confirming the Skype agreement that the mist clears once allegro is 1 meter from the ground and Jason uses Nativity at that point because he sees Allegro in the previous post round. The situation has been changed slightly with Allegros newest post, and I’ll be responding accordingly. No hard feelings brother
The clone had been formed, and begun his sprint toward the opposite end of the arena. Unfortunately, before Jason could move his hands out of the clone seal position, he found himself entirely paralyzed! When and how had that happened? Seals need to be placed by physical touch! At least, that was what he was taught in the academy. But Allegro kun hasn’t touched Jason since the beginning of their fight. Was it a delayed reaction to a seal he placed back then? That was the most probable answer. It didn’t matter when it was placed at this point, though. What mattered was that he couldn’t move. Surely that meant his brother thought he would be completely defenseless. No doubt, this was when he planned to attack. Fortunately, or unfortunately for the Uzumaki, Jason could still attack or defend from the position he was in.
Jason was paralyzed, but he had no other reason to expect an attack just yet. He strained his hearing and sight, trying to pick up anything that might give him a clue. It only came with the whistling of senbon flying through the air. In that instant, the mist completely disappeared, exposing Allegro. It was too late for the clone though, and Jason’s foot. Both were suddenly impaled by senbon, dispelling the clone and sending a throbbing pain through his foot. Fortunately, though, the clone managed to turn around in time to see where the senbon had come from before disappearing. By the time the mist cleared, Allegro was already behind Jason though he hadn’t completely landed yet.
With the instant recovery of the clones memories, Jason knew that his brother was behind him, probably still in the air. So, without any hesitation, he formed another shadow clone, this time facing the direction Jason last knew Allegro had been, already with his hands forming the Snake hand seal.
Immediately after forming the Snake hand seal, the clone being less than ten meters away from the spiraling Uzumaki, a single root grew from the ground where Allegro would land. It grew and spiraled to form a cocoon four meters in diameter where the red haired member of Team 7 would land without being close enough for him to reach with any part of his body. If he continued his actions, he would most likely end up in the cocoon which was angled in a way to match the boys trajectory and would immediately close behind him and capture him.
Of course, these weren’t the only roots that grew. Many other grew from the ground underneath each of the zombie-like clones as well, consequently going through them and showing both the original Jason and his clone that they were not to be feared. Roots also would have grown up from the ground behind the original Jason, intertwining to create a defensive wall behind him three meters tall and wide.
With the wall defending him, Jason would begin to sink into the ground and hopefully disappear before the Uzumaki could reach him.
In the event that Allegro managed to evade capture, the clone was prepared to counter or counter attack.

Hi, friendly neighborhood gambling-addict battlemod here.
I've looked over the fight as requested in regards to whether the paralysis occurs before the shadow clone is formed.
Using these as frames of reference, Jason isn't as specific as he needs to be on the exact point he's forming the seal in his initial post, other than that it's during the conclusion of the wave (Which has 60 speed to 100m as it is before it's fully done)
Koaru establishes a reference point for Jason by stating the exact moment he'll be doing the clone seal.
The correct maneuver in this scenario would have been to reestablish his own reference by reacting to what Koaru was doing rather than trying to amend his initial usage of the jutsu, which had already been capitalised on. As such establishing a different timeline was the most viable alternative.
With this reasoning I have to give the fight to Koaru. Impressive display though, looking forward to seeing both of you develop.

Jason wrote:Now was the time to enact the final stage of his plan, though he didn’t know that just yet. Having formed his shadow clone at the exact same moment he dispelled his water style jutsu

- Xyxer looked at the topic and ruled Allegro won. No hard feelings brother! It was a great match.
Jason found himself completely paralyzed with Allegro behind him and a kunai knife to his throat. He had no way to cast jutsu anymore, he couldn't move, and his brother had this match in the palm of his hand. All Jason could do now, was be happy for his brother. At least he would be able to cheer him on through the rest of his matches. Recognizing he had lost, and coming to terms with it, he decided to clear away the mist and reveal to the crowd the situation below. "Well, looks like you won this won brother. It was a good match. Just, don't lose to anyone else, ok? Now let me out of this so I can give up."
Assuming his the Uzumaki listened and released Jason from the paralysis, he would stretch his muscles at the freedom he received before putting his cupped hand in front of his mouth to address the audience. "ALLEGRO WINS THE MATCH!" When his hands moved and revealed his mouth, Jason could be seen smiling. He had lost, sure, but his best friend, teammate, and brother had won and would move on during the exams. "Alright man, let's go get something to eat. I'm starving!" he said to Allegro, laughing. Hopefully, his brother would walk out of the arena together with him, Jason's arm over his shoulder, as they laughed and joked along the way.

Re: Allegro vs Jason

As the mist slowly began to clear on the battle field, the shadows of the two genin came to light. The crowed would see Allegro, kunai in hand, and Jason riddled with black marks all over his body and struggling to even move an inch. Allegro waited for the exam proctor to give the announcement to declare a winner before releasing the curse seal that kept him bound with only a thought and simultaneously removed the kunai from Jason's neck without injury. He was there to catch Jason should he fall from his unexpected overexertion of chakra and strength. Throughout the entire match, Jason had been casting jutsu back to back while Allegro barely scratched the surface of his chakra reserves. Not to mention this was the first time the Senju had really experienced the true extent of the Uzumaki's seals, after all. "Yea. Thank you for the great match, Jason kun. I was worried things would have gone too fair if we had continued." He said as he removed the explosive senbon gently from his teammates foot. "Absolutely, I'm starving too! Those words are like music to my ears ♫! Hehe Groovy ~ "
The two boys who were looking more like men made their way to the same arena exit; the one Allegro came out from. As they walked, Allegro looked up to where he had last seen the Hokage sitting. From this distance, Allegro could not make out her facial expression, but he could feel a sense of her approval from afar. He had hoped to remind her a bit of herself as a young fuinjutsu specialist and inspire a positive image that would last in the Hokage's mind. However, he didn't buy in too much into another's approval. So, he collected his ninja tools that had been scattered across the arena, and exited.
"Awesome! That Uzumaki kid won! I was never expecting that against a ninja from the Senju Clan...."
"Did you hear the song he played during the match? He's some kind of musical genius!"
The audience began to cheer uncontrollably in favor of Allegro's victory. Though at first, this caught the boy off guard, however he was a natural when it came to receiving public recognition. The red haired Uzumaki could not help but grin from ear to ear while he rubbed his under finger under his nose. While one arm held Jason up as they walked, the other hand was held up high, waving at all his newly made fans. He even blew kisses to some of the more developed members of the female audience.
"As expected from Leaf village. I hear Kinzoku Nazaar is the one responsible for both of their training. That kid even has sponsors in high places, like the Mizukage, bidding in his favor...This was to be expected."
Allegro heard some of the audiences remarks, though he did not pay them any mind. Still he wondered what that whole bit about being bid on and sponsored was about. Jason and Allegro would eventually part ways once backstage. Allegro returned to his dressing room and looked in the same mirror he looked into before the match began. His clothes were not excessively worn or tattered. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a letter on the table with the official stamp of the Mizukage sealing it closed. Allegro opened it to reveal what appeared to be his winnings from the match. Suddenly, the gossip he had overheard had become a bit clearer. As he revisited the only memories of the Mizukage he had, Allegro found that things were getting rather interesting for him in the Chuunin exams. He could not wait to see what unfolded next.
