Re: Let people live how they want dammit (p:Kot,Geni)

Geni had totally forgotten about the fact that court documents needed to be registered with the registration office. Shad had gotten so caught up in the moment and the happiness of the couple, along with making sure to remember how the church’s wedding oath and ceremony vows went anyways. She had been focusing so much on training and learning more about herself that she was already starting to forget the teachings of the church. Afterwards, it pleased her to find out that Kotetsu knew them personally and to hear about how the shinobi had grown.
Things like this always made her happy and amused; or rather these types of moments that she got to witness, did. She always felt a bit special to witness friendships and reunions in the making but never revealing that she did enjoy these things. That revealing something like these thoughts would make her out to be- well- rather weird, wouldn’t it? She preferred to seem friendly and approachable, maybe more so than others, because in the end- no one would suspect a dog of biting if it never did so before. Would they? However, she listened patiently as Kotetsu laid out their game plan when he noticed someone watching the house.
“Let's get the documentation filled out properly and then we’ll all head over to the records building to finalise everything. Once that’s done, we’ll get you two back here and behind the protection of Elias’ seals.” The forms had already been filled out, so there just needed to be signatures of witnesses, which Genevieve and Kotetsu provided. As soon as that was taken care of, Kotetsu handed the forms to Sebastian to hold on to while Geni watched and listened. “You’re going to be in the middle of all three of us.” Kotetsu said to We will form a rotating triangle formation around you. I will take the lead, and we will rotate so that I am the nearest to the largest threat should we encounter any.”
So imagine how stupid she felt when someone did approach them once they got past the protective seals on the door? She left stupid now as she should have paid more attention. How would anyone take her seriously as a shinobi, if she couldn’t even notice someone maliciously scoping out the house and watching for the door? It could have been the seal around her beck or it could have been Geni blaming herself too harshly for the oversight but either way; she was glad to have the backup on this mission. It was nice to have an extra set of eyes, especially as they left the house- only to be confronted by the lurking man right away. Geni followed Kotetsu’s plan and led the happy couple away from Kotetsu and towards the office, prepared to defend them if she needed to; as was the newly-appointed wife of the newlyweds.
As Kotetsu confronted and defended the couple, keeping the unknown man at bay, Geni was keen to guide the couple and keep their employers, safe and sound while keeping them en route to their destination. Which was the Registration Office, and they small group was quick to find out that it was now blocked ot them by six other men… an one straggler who quickly ran over to join the group. Fucking ridiculous. However, as Geni tried to quickly rack her mind on what techniques she could use from this distance that would not kill all of them in one fell swoop, once more Kotetsu answered this problem for her. He took the lead again and stepped forward, parting the seas of idiots with w blast of wind that attacked the middle first, while another blast pelted the nay-sayers flanking them. Geni took action and hastily led the couple over the groaning fools and into the building now that Kotetsu had been kind enough to make a feasible path to the office. The couple slipped inside and submitted their documentation to record them as yet another married couple and they left victorious and happy.
Geni was more than happy to step over the mostly unconscious men- however, it thrilled her a little bit to give one of them an extra little stomp when they grasped her ankle. Rude. Whether it was them grabbing her ankle or her stomping them in response, it was the first word that came to her mind as she followed the happy couple back to their home. This hasn’t been so bad. Even if she was taking up the rear as they traveled the streets back to their employers home, really, this had been one of her few missions that she had undertaken. It wasn’t as terrible as it could have been and really, it hadn’t been much more than what training she had done with Kenshin several times. It was a bit thrilling but right now… as she walked these streets and day-dreamed about the future while they walked back to their employer’s home? She wasn't that strong.
It took a strong person and a brave person to admit their faults and admit the chinks in their armor; their weaknesses. Geni was only strong enough to admit that she was weak; probably the weakest of all the Chunin in her village. Whether it was because she had taken so much time away from training and dedicating herself to the village, or because she did devoted more time to solving her inner turmoils, it didn’t matter. What mattered is that it was a fact. She wanted to know how many people in her own village knew this fact; was it one person? Ten people? A hundred? Or the whole village? How many people were keeping track of her strength and how high or low she was on the totem pole of Chunin Shinobi? Well- this would be the final fact.
As she waved goodbye to the happy couple then her and Kotetsu parted ways, she decided. In this ‘dog-eat-dog’ world, she’d have to rise higher up on the totem pole. That meant more training and more learning- probably even killing. It act of it didn’t particularly seem to bother her as it would have a year or two ago, since it was such a commonplace side-effect of awry missions. However, she’s have to be firmer in her decisions to carry them out. Maybe it wasn’t the fact that it didn’t seem to sink in clearly rather than ‘bother her’. After all; it might be beneficial, hell even ‘fun’ to be a dragon in a dog-eat-dog world. That’s something she should strive for as well; to be more intune with herself and her dragons. One couldn’t get through life without a bit of help, after all, now could they? Well, she would just have to find out for herself.
