Visitng an Old Friend (Open, NK)
Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:26 am
It was 4PM. It was raining lightly and there was a small breeze, strong enough to move one’s hair, but that was about it. The sun was hiding behind a sea of gray clouds. The village seemed oddly quiet today. A boy could be seen making his way through deserted streets towards the burial grounds. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded robe and black shinobi shoes. His hair was long and jet black, tied in a pony tail and positioned to the front right due to his hood; the tail end of it resting upon his chest. The boy’s complexion was pale, but it would be hard to tell due to what he was wearing.
As he made his way through the streets, he reflected on the past several months. He had been gone for some time now on missions which had required his absence from the Leaf. Most of which consisted of security detailing for high paying officials or VIPs, along with the occasional intelligence gathering. Nothing major or exciting. It was not what he had hoped of when being deemed a Jonin, but at least it was something. Being away from the village had kept his mind occupied, but now that he was home he had decided to visit his friend and pay his respects once more. He was not in denial. No. It just made him feel, well, not alone.
Upon entering the burial grounds, it would begin to rain harder as though the rain were following him… Ita would immediately notice that the area was completely deserted, except for one woman who appeared to be crying off in the distance in front of a tomb stone. Ita guessed she must have been morning a late lover or family member. Without disturbing the peace, Ita would make his way to his destination, scanning his path. A flashback would occur back to the first time he came to this place as he traced the same steps he had taken many times before. Upon arriving to his friend’s grave, he would read a small plaque imbedded in the ground.
“…Here lies Jace Uchiha…”
Ita would crouch downwards and reveal his only hand, placing a flower and kunai beside the grave stone and would then proceed to polish it, removing the wilted flower and dust that had accrued since he had last visited. The boy would then stand up as he reminisced over the times that they had shared together, looking towards the sky. Droplets of rain would lightly pelt his face and role down his cheeks as his crimson eyes glistened.
“I wonder where you are now my friend…”
He would think to himself.

This was a perfect place to reflect upon the thoughts that had been haunting him the past several months. For the boy had come here not only to pay his respects, but to hold counsel with his departed friend- as though he was looking for a sign as to which way to turn.
Since the invasion, Ita had felt uneasy. Awkward in a way... A village so regarded and lead by some of the most notorious shinobi in history, forced to surrender to a foreign tyrant of a Village crushed long ago. Had the pain swelled and caused this to happen? Or was it a display of power devouring its first victim, sending an echo out to the different corners of the continent to let the rest of them know- “We’re coming”.
Ita imagined the image of survivors scurrying like fleas out of the gate. Shinobi and merchants alike, spreading the tail of how the Mizukage imposed his will upon Konoha and forced them to brutally murder one of their own. Maybe this was inevitable… the village had been prosperous for too long and in that time, quickly forgot the world in which they lived.
It was time to go. The boy had spent enough time pondering with the dead and now needed to go try and make sense of it all. He took one last look at the gravestone and was gone. The boy’s body disappearing in a blur of speed. He would go to meet with the Hokage.
