Witnessing Tane rush past himself at incredible speeds, Heichi's competitive streak started up, quickly somersaulting out the window and bounding off after the girl. Regardless of whether or not the man from before was keeping up Heichi was doing his best to stay at least in sight of Tane, who appeared to be moving ever so slightly faster than himself.
 "Yo, Tane!" Heichi shouted at the somehow faster girl, being able to only really get a look at the back of her head, at the wind whipping through her ponytail. "You know which part of the training field you want to go to?" Heichi questioned of her, "I mean, you have the three main fields, then the special zones you know?".
 By 'main fields', Heichi was referring to the empty hills, a large sector of lush green hills that was often times used by other ninja for star-gazing. The whistling woods, a forest that was normally used for training missions by ninja, has a nice clear stream running through the centre of it all, also has very acute acoustics, often requiring anyone who practised there to partake in limited movement or at
least some form of muffling skill to avoid audio detection. The final 'main field' was simply the yard behind the main office building of the Hoshikage, a simple affair restricted to use by Genin and academy students training, so as to avoid it being blown up by high level jutsu, it comes with your standard training equipment scattered sparsely around an open bare-dirt area.
 The special zones where a series of purposefully made areas that would test the skills of any who entered, including a small constantly burning building, a large cavern that could be reached by a series of often times collapsing and constantly being re-dug caves, a small island surrounded by a massive lake, and of course a host of others. Naturally most of the special areas are off limits, except for the trap house, which is considered a form of initiation for new genin.
 Heichi kept his questioning gaze upon Tane as he waited for an answer.

Tane may naturally be a smidge faster, but she's coming in cold and Heichi is warmed up, so she's gotta be putting some sincere effort in to be maintaining her lead. What is it that he's saying to her? Is he trying to distract her? What kind of underhanded tactics. Tane ignores whatever he's saying.

Heichi doesn't get a verbal answer from her, but it quickly becomes clear that she's leading him towards the hills. When the cool grass brushes against her feet she slows, turning to face the other student and resting her hands on her thighs while she catches her breath. She's a bit too winded to look too smug, but he'll probably catch a bit of of triumph in her face when she recovers. The flat dirt and beaten up tools of the main field bore her after so long, and the forest simply wasn't an obvious choice for her, so she opted for the next best patch of green in proximity to the academy. 

"Think this spot works?" she pants, making it a bit clearer for the boy that she hadn't fully heard him while they were running. She looks out past Heichi to watch out for Masashi, searching for some expression of confirmation that she's made an acceptable choice.

"Yo, Tane!" the boy called out to Yamahara. "You know which part of the training field you want to go to? I mean, you have the three main fields, then the special zones you know?" Masashi raised an eyebrow and looked around the training yard. It had a variety of areas for training different basic skills, but there wasn't really anything here that would suggest particularly special zones. The more extensive training grounds were located near the Water Gardens. For some reason though, the training yard had a small, grassy hill in the middle of it. 'Why didn't I notice that on the way in?' Masashi thought to himself. He shrugged and made his way over to where the two students were standing.

Yamahara would turn to look at Masashi as he approached. "Think this spot works?" she asked him. Technically any spot in the training grounds would work since the at least the two techniques required for graduation could be done anywhere. "Looks good to me." He would respond with a smile. "Alright, let's get to work. There are two techniques you will need in order to graduate from the Academy here in Hoshigakure. They are the Clone technique and the transformation technique. As the Clone Technique is the simpler of the two, we will start there."

“The Clone Technique allows you to create a copy of your image. It's a basic technique, but depending on one's ingenuity, it can be used effectively in a variety of situations. The clones may not dissipate when they come into contact with something, so it’s more of a distraction technique, to use in combination with other jutsu.” He paused for a moment before continuing. “It has three hand seals that you need to make in the right order while focusing your chakra." To reinforce the training with a visual aspect, he would explain the hand seals required by making them as well as saying what they were. “They are Ram, Snake, and Tiger. Once you’ve made the last hand seal, you release your chakra and if you did it correctly and applied the right amount of chakra, then the jutsu will be successful, and you will have created a copy of yourself.” As he said this he had been building up the appropriate amount of chakra and released it as he finished the last hand seal. Two copies of himself had shown up, one on either side of himself. “Now you try.”

Heichi landed close by to Tane, with the Masashi only a few steps behind 'Wow, he caught up fast' Heichi thought to himself. He listened closely as Masashi explained how the clone jutsu worked, as the man finished by summoning up a few clones Heichi decided to explain a bit further.  
 "The basic clone jutsu we'll be learning, if I did this right earlier-" Heichi proceeded to swipe a hand through one of Masashi's clones, his hand passing cleanly through it, leaving the boy with a pleased expression. "They're more a genjutsu then an actual ninjutsu, very useful as distractions but as they have no physical side to them, they're not much use for anything else" Heichi said, with no small amount of pride that he remembered all that from earlier. 
 "Though there are other more useful variants of it" Heichi pointed out while performing the hand symbols for ram, snake, and tiger, summoning up a near identical clone to himself just to his right. "Those can all do more physical things, but as such are much higher level, so we'll stick with these for now" Heichi pointed out by passing his hand right through his clone's lower chest lengthways.

"Those can all do more physical things, but as such are much higher level, so we'll stick with these for now" He then waved his hand through the clone he had just created.

Masashi could see the reasoning behind why the boy would think that way. If one wasn’t well versed in how the jutsu worked, it could appear to be a Genjutsu. That being said, there were some ways that an intelligent shinobi can tell the difference. A skilled Genjustu user for example, would allow his clone to cause grass to flatten, and small dust clouds to form when a clone makes footsteps to help hide what is real. The Clone Jutsu does not do that.

Yamahara would pipe up at that point. "But they're not Genjutsu," she says, glancing to Masashi for backup on her pedantry. "More've a scarecrow than making you go funny in the head. Alright." Masashi would nod. “That’s correct in the sense that it’s not a Genjutsu. You cannot change it after it’s been formed. Genjutsu can be modified to a degree after the fact, since it is normally inside the head of the affected. The Clone Jutsu is a projection in the world so it can still move and whatnot, so not exactly a scarecrow either.” 

He would watch as Yamahara would form the hand seals to the Clone technique, it wasn’t perfect, but  that’s what practice is for. ‘I’m sure she’ll improve in time.’ Masashi thought to himself. “Let me know when you are ready, and we’ll go over the next technique.” He would say to the pair, moreso to Yamahara because it seemed like the other student had already learned some of this already.

"Well, when you explain it like that" Heichi said with a small shrug of his shoulders, he proceeds to turn towards Tane. Tane was just performing the seals when Heichi sees a small problem, Her ram seal is a bit off in the positionng of the left pinkie finger, normally a small issue that doesn't effect anything, but as both he and her are learning to control their chakra accordingly, it proved an actual issue. 
 When Tane's clone was summoned, Heichi couldn't help but blanche a little, he knew he should be supportive and keep a flat expression like his sensei, unfortunately he has yet to learn any control of his emotions. Heichi tried to put on a more reassuring smile at Tane's more, 'misshapen' clone, "I mean, it's still there so-" Heichi's statement was abruptly cut off as the clone turns to smoke. 
 Heichi resumes a rather flat expression until his fellow student utters, "Hunh, better than last time". Admittedly moved by his fellow students determination, Heichi proceeds to saunter up beside her, and forms a perfect ram seal "Hey, just focus your chakra, and copy my movements okay?" Heichi flashes a reassuring smile at Tane.

Tane exhales through her nose in frustration. Was this genin paying attention at all? Then Heichi literally goes pale at the sight of her clown. Well, if she can't make a proper crow, maybe she can scare ninja off with her frightening lack of talent. Heichi's attempt at reassurance just gets a scowl from Tane. "You," she starts, before she takes a deep breath and reconsiders just storming out right here. Petulant as she may feel, she's too proud to run her mouth before she feels like she's doing her own job properly.

"That's helpful," she still can't help but mutter sarcastically. Her eyes are studying Heichi's signs closely. It helps when they're slower... she copies him, seal by seal, adjusting her positioning and the distance of her hands from her body. Then, she does so again more quickly, applying her chakra - and a slightly better clone, but not quite there. Before it even has a chance to dissolve into smoke she's trying again, and although this one's a little off in the face, it's stable - scowling back at her while she cracks a smile at it. Hey, is that really what she looks like? "There!"

"Well, when you explain it like that" the boy said with a dismissive shrug. Masashi couldn't help but roll his eyes. If he didn't want to learn, that was entirely up to him. Yamahara however was in the process of learning and definitely wanted to improve. She kept trying and seemed to create a clone on her second try. "Great job." he congratulated the young girl. "It looks good to me. Seems like you're about ready to move on to the next technique." Should he receive no argument from her, he would continue into the next jutsu she would need to learn.

"The next technique, that I mentioned earlier, is the Transformation Technique. It’s considered to be among the more difficult jutsu of this level. The primary reason for this is due to it requiring a constant output of chakra, as opposed to the clone you just summoned. The clone illusion doesn’t require any more chakra than what you initially invested. What the transformation technique does is allows a shinobi to take any human form they picture in their head, that cannot exceed human sized. There is a limit to what you can do while transformed, because of the strain that holding the transformation technique takes.” He would tell the pair of shinobi-to-be in front of him. “There are also three hand seals that you need to perform for this technique. They are Dog, Boar, and Ram, in that order.” He said, making sure to demonstrate them at a speed equal to what Yamahara could do before doing the actual technique. Masashi then built up his chakra, made the hand seals, and released his chakra. Instead of transforming himself into one of them, He would transform himself into one of the academy teachers. Since the transformation technique didn't modify speaking voice, he spoke in his regular tone. "When you are ready, feel free to give it a try."

As Heichi witnesses Tane's further attempts, showing her the hand seals, warching with rapt attention as she progressively gets better, he can't help but wear an excited expression. 'She's getting better, and doing so faster than most of us, can't wait till she starts learning some proper combat jutsu, she'll make a fine sparring partner in no time!.. wait, what was her name again?' Heichi thinks with a manic grin that somewhat falters at that last thought.
 Their genin teacher, Masashi, seems to notice their progress, and he deigns to move on to the next technique, the transformation jutsu. After a short burst of exposition, he performs the seals at a steady pace, and in a puff of smoke, where Masashi Uzumaki once stood, Namikaze sensei appeared. A slightly shocked expression crosses Heichi's face, only to be swapped out for a more scrutinising gaze. "Hey, Uzumaki-senpai?" Heichi said with a hint of accusation, "Your transformation of Namikaze sensei, did it need to have an extra cup-size and a half?" the boy's accusatory tone was a bit more noticeable now.
 While still leveling his gaze upon Masashi, Heichi formed the hand seals and took on the appearance of another ninja, namely the one he was previously sparring with, Cole. Forming the dog hand seal while encasing himself in chakra, moving onto the boar symbol while forcing it to take shape of a taller boy wearing a rather baggy gi, and finally forming a ram symbol forcing it all to take on the colours of the boy and his clothing. In a puff of smoke Heichi had taken on the visage of a slightly older boy with pale-blue hair and a pointed face.
