Feel The Wind On Your Back [Travel] Empty Feel The Wind On Your Back [Travel]

Fri Aug 09, 2019 1:11 am
Time was the greatest adversary mankind had ever faced. With time, the mightiest works could be reduced to nought but ruins that drowned in sand. With time, names and legacies were forgotten by descendants until they were little more than whispers in the wind of an era gone by. With time, the heart of a man could change. Wandering ahead of the forces of Kirigakure, Xyxer was finally beginning to understand a concept that eluded him since the start. Mortality had always proved itself to be core to the values of the Son of Kirigakure. Without the contrast of death, there could be no beauty in life. Things needed the potential to be taken so that they could truly be cherished. A single cursory glance over his shoulder highlighted the men and women of Kirigakure that were willing to risk their lives being taken in order for the greater glory to their homeland. A dedication to the will of Xyxer in which few leaders would rarely ever experience. They had followed him to the worthless ruins of Sunagakure without so much as questioning his motives and were willing to lay their lives down if their bodies were capable of building the foundation of Kirigakures rule in that land. In the past, there would be no qualms about sacrificing many of his people so that he could claim superiority through the extermination of Missing Shinobi and the reclamation of a desolate village.

With time, this was no longer the case.

The realisation reverberated within his very being when he stepped onto the golden sands of a village that had endured the marching feet of thousands. To throw the lives of so many into a lake merely so they could form a dam in which Xyxer could cross without the angst of wetting his feet. So many wheels had been set into motion from Kirigakure bent around the will of Xyxer, objectives that, initially, he had believed to be for the greater good of the world and the benefit of the Mist. Preemptive strikes to revoke any chance the villages had to once again sink the village he had sacrificed so much for. Such thinking was flawed. In truth, it was worse than flawed as it was a lie. He had been nothing more than a rabid wolf leading a pack into a frenzy so that they could all release their frustrations and bask in the glory of combat until death embraced their mortal form.

Soon enough, the proud sails of the Fleet came into view over the horizon. The beautiful vessels of war that drifted atop the tranquil waters, swaying in the wind yet tethered to their location by the anvils hidden in the depths. Kirigakures craftsmen were true artisans in their ways. In another life, Xyxer would have been noble enough to spend more time among them so that he could hone his own skills. Perhaps he could have made his own boat in due course. Lumber was easy to come by on the islands that filled a hole deep within him, all that he had lacked was the know-how. Violence had dominated so much of his life that he had discarded any other skills that had passed his way. A slight smirk curled upon his lips at the thought of being a carpenter. A simpler life to be sure, yet... fulfilling. There was no time for the Mizukage to learn these skills however, it was much too late for that. He knew he would never be blessed with the breathtaking visage of Kirigakure again. He would not be returning home.

Once the army had returned back to the anchored ships, a series of orders were issued down the chain of command to ensure that nobody had been left behind, with supplies and the like being bundled together before equal distribution among the large variety of ships. When all of his orders had been understood by the captains, Xyxer turned around once more to behold the vision of the most imposing ship of all. The Silence. He queried what would become of the vessel that boasted numerous golden inlays and a striking prow of a leviathans heads with exposed teeth to act as a boarding mechanism. For once, he could truly admire the craft that had gone into such a ship. The countless hours to ensure not only aesthetic but function. He walked once again towards the clear waters, his silver hair tied up behind him. When he peered down into the reflective waters, he saw the silver hair of the man he had once been. The heterochromatic eyes that had signified him since birth. The same body that had performed in countless dances to death. Yet he was no longer that man. His heart was different.

Feel The Wind On Your Back [Travel] Empty Re: Feel The Wind On Your Back [Travel]

Mon Aug 12, 2019 3:49 pm
Having felt like they just arrived and were already being sent back home, the snowy haired woman and her canine companion boarded The Silence to head back home. Her lilac eyes searched the ship for familiar faces, noting a few Kirigakure shinobi she had briefly spoken with but disappointed that her mohawked companion was not aboard yet. Even their leader, Xyxer, was near the bottom of the ship, waiting for everyone to board who remained. There was a different gleam in his eyes this day, almost as if he was at peace with something. Just as soon as she had glimpsed that feeling from his eyes, it vanished as he looked away into the water below him.

Hikari would've lingered on that thought longer had a part of her not began to fear the worst about Kotsuzui's lack of presence, worried he had been targetted by one of the missing-nin and taken out without her even knowing it. If he had been injured, she could've saved him, but if he were already greeting the reaper...

Kuro nuzzled her hand softly as it formed into a fist, knuckles white as she clutched them tightly. He didn't know why she was feeling such a sense of despair, but figured it had to do with a friend by the way she kept slowly looking around. He knew all that he could do was show her that she wasn't alone this time, and so that was exactly what he did.

Feel The Wind On Your Back [Travel] Empty Re: Feel The Wind On Your Back [Travel]

Disappointment. If this venture could be explained with one word, that's the word Kotsuzui would have chosen. He came to this land of heat and sand, where he had been once before and achieved the status of Chuunin. That was when Suna experienced its plummeting downfall and was taken over by Kumo. On this day it was to be taken from the false shinobi who now resided within its walls. It was to be restored to what it once was. That day however was not going to be today. Almost as soon as they had arrived, Xyxer had given the command to retreat and return to Kirigakure, the order flowing like water down the chain of command. Just like that Kotsuzui put the walls of Suna behind him and made his way back to where he came from. He wasn't disappointed that he did not have an opportunity to take the village back from the missing nin. Rather he was disappointed he didn't get the chance to face them in battle. To spill their blood and have his own spilled as well. To feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins. There was no greater sensation then that of battle. It was right there, on the edge of his fingers. So close, yet so far as he boarded one of the many ships resting yards shy of the shoreline. He turned his gaze back towards the direction of Suna catching site of their fearless leader remaining at shore. What was he planning the Kaguya thought as he watched Xyxer closer, wondering what was more important for the Mizukage that he was not returning home with his army.
