Tree Climbing Gone Wrong (IO, Chuta, NK)

Yoi stood at the village gates, as he had recently received news that a boy needed help in a tree. He had heard that it was around 40 meters up and that there was a wasp's nest. Yoi was silently surveying the scene. He heard another person was supposed to come. Yoi was feeling the wind rush through his hair as he stood under the archway that was the village gates. He looked at the muted colors of the forest, and the pale, dirt road stretching far into the distance. No matter how peacful this may seem, the white haired Yuki was ready in case any Missing Ninja came out of the forest, ready to pounce. Yoi had heard stories of gaurds quickly killed by missing ninja. Or, you could be detaining an attempted missing ninja and sending him to jail. When you are a shinobi, you never know what is to come next.

Chuta walked along the dirt path toward the gate, his shinny new headband placed on his forehead and his loose leather jacket flapping in the gentle wind. He was to meet up with Yoi for a mission before they assign him to a team. Chuta wore a large smile on his face as he walked. Being a ninja was great so far. Everyone treated him with a new sense of respect than before, though the roaring dragon within his blood might be playing on his success, giving him a sense of false pride.

"Hey Yoi." Chuta lifted his hand in a wave. "Do you know where this tree is?" He asked. No one had told him much of anything on the mission. Just that he should meet the more experienced ninja and stay out of trouble. It was kind of insulting now that Chuta thought about it.

Yoi saw a flash of light coming from Konoha. He looked away for a few seconds, and saw a boy walking towards him. On closer inspection, he realized it was Chuta, from the other day. "Hey Yoi. Do you know where the tree is?"

"Hey Chuta, how ya doing? I'm looking for it, but I'm not manking too much progress. I might have to go a little farther away to look for it."

As Yoi said this, he heard a scream from up in a tree.

"Never mind, that's where it is."

Yoi pointed to the tree where the scream came from.

"I'm doing well. Just made Genin." He smiled. Once the words left his mouth a young boy's scream shrieked through the air. At Yoi's word Chuta began to run over there. The tree was tall and thick, Chuta wasn't sure what species of tree it was, but the branches were thick and strong. Upon inspection he could see how one of the branches broke. A lightning strike from a storm yearlier in the year left a portion of the tree dead looking, the branch, after taking on the weight of the kid, gave and was now by Chuta's feet.

"Yeah, even the mighty ones fall sometimes." He said as he picked up the large branch and inspected the end. He remained oblivious to the swarm of bees above him. "Just hold on kid, we are on the way." He was trying to be encouraging. "What are you thinking Yoi?"

Yoi was happy to hear that the boy just made Genin. "Nice job." 

Yoi walked over to the tree with Chuta. Yoi immeaditly noticed the swarm of bees above them and said to Chuta, in a voice where the boy in the tree wouldn't hear them, "There's a hornet's nest up in the tree. We gotta be careful about how we do this. I think I have an idea how to get the hornets away without harming the boy."

"What do you have in mind? I can run up there and grab him. Though, I'm not sure if the hornets would see." Chuta said quietly. He looked up and could see the nest. It was attached to the end of a branch on the opposite side of the tree from were the kid was stuck. Chuta began to send chakra to the bottom of his feet. It would allow him to walk on the surface of the tree easily. He took a few steps on the trunk. He could feel the flow of blood in his body shift. It was little disorienting at first but he prepared to sprint.

"If you throw something at the nest, maybe that will distract them long enough for me to run up and get them...?" He said while standing on the tree, still just looking to the side at Yoi.

"Lets do it." Chuta got off the tree and walked over to a nearby bush, crouching behind it he prepared himself. Once Yoi was out of the tree and running from the hornets, Chuta would begin to sprint, going from branch to branch, bounding upward. During his climb he would hold the monkey hand seal, prepared to spit water at any incoming hornets that don't fall for the trick. Then grab the kid and head back downward. If all goes well it should be a pretty simple day, if the hornets do attack, at least Chuta knew how to heal basic wounds. Lets hope it doesn't come to that... he thought.

As Yoi dashed up the tree he vanished in a dense mist that appeared, then Chuta heard him land on the ground. The air buzzed with intesety as the hornets attacked, though the noise seemed to follow the other ninja. Chuta dashed for the tree, pushing chakra to his feet he closed the distance the broken branch had made with a leap and told the kid to jump on his back. Once the kid was secured Chuta would hold the monkey hand seal on the way down. Watching the air for any hornets near by.

Back on the ground safely he dashed for the village gates. The larger the gab between them and the tree the safer it would get. Chuta set the young kid down. "What are you doing up there anyway man, your going to hurt yourself." He said as he ran his hand on the boys shaggy head. "Just watch were your climbing next time." He continued, pointed a wagging, playful finger, "No bee hives." They both chuckled.
