Koeda's Adventure (P) Empty Koeda's Adventure (P)

Tue Oct 08, 2019 5:31 pm

Persona laid asleep in bed with his arm hanging out. For once in his life he had been snoring. His constant training had gotten the better of him. That night he dreamt of receiving a headband of his own. He would then take off with his squadron to fight untold enemies. Koeda, his squirrel took his tiny claw and poked Persona to confirm if he was in deep sleep. Koeda’s head switched from side to side, trying to get a closer look to verify if Persona was really out cold. Not seeing Persona move except for the light raise and lowering of his chest gave Koeda his answer.

Koeda hopped off of Persona’s bed to the floorboards. He skittered along the perimeter of his room. The room seemed very bare at the moment. Persona didn’t have enough memorable things to fill the room with. There was Persona’s bed with white and black sheets covering the body of Persona. This bed was located in the middle of one of his walls. Opposite of Persona’s bed was his dresser which contained all of his clothes. On top of Persona’s dresser were a few pictures. One picture was of his family and another of his friends from the academy, Midorikawa and Masahitsu. His extra moon necklace laid on the dresser as well.

There was a sliding door on the wall that connected the wall Persona’s bed was on and the wall that had Persona’s dresser. On the opposite side of the sliding door was a huge window that was easy to exit and enter from if Persona needed to. Koeda, making sure the room was secure from any potential threats decided to go on a little trip. He went out of Persona’s room from the sliding door that was left a little bit open for Koeda’s use. The squirrel entered the hall which contained a few spread out side tables with vases and flowers on them. Pictures also hung on the walls of their family, within the household and outside of the household.

The smell of beef drifted down the hallway coming from the kitchen. Koeda went down the hall, following the scent. Looking at the squirrel you could see his nose moving heavily, trying to take in the scent. Koeda of course could stiffen his nose to smell out things when he needed to, but that’s only when he was on duty which was anytime outside of his own house. Making his way to the kitchen Koeda found Persona’s mother, Makoto. She was cooking some beef and rice in the kitchen. Koeda hopped onto the table and chittered at her. This caused Makoto to scream in surprise. She hadn’t expected to see the squirrel appear like that. Koeda was usually with Persona if anything after all.

“Don’t startled me like that, Koeda. You know I’m just not used to your presence yet. You make me want to keep my Byakugan activated more often, no offense.”, she said.

Koeda understood Makoto’s logic. He wasn’t used to big hawks snatching him off the ground either, but that happened to him too. That was besides the point of why Koeda was there though. Koeda chittered once again, nudging towards the food. Makoto looked from the squirrel back towards her cooking. “Ah, okay. You came because you smelled the food, correct? Are you even supposed to be eating this kind of meal? I mean you did ask for it, so I suppose you are capable of eating it, but -- Well, I don’t know if Persona will be pleased.”, replied Makoto to Koeda’s bickering. Koeda clapped his hands together both in greed and excitement. Makoto sighed, grabbed a piece of beef with a pair of chopsticks and chucked it at the squirrel.

The piece of beef was almost the size of the squirrel. Koeda grabbed onto the meat and fell backwards with it in excitement. A line of juice returned in place to wherever the beef touched the table. Koeda was nibbling on the piece of meat furiously. He tore at it with both his teeth and his hands. Makoto took out a cloth and wiped the table of the meat juice that had gotten onto it. By the time she finished cleaning the table, Koeda had finished his strip of beef. Koeda chittered in gratitude. Makoto tilted her head smiling at the creature happy he enjoyed it. Makoto then shoo’d him off.

“Off you go, now! If you eat anymore you will be too fat to be considered any use of Persona and I won’t let that be my fault.”, she said.

Koeda hopped off the table onto the floorboards once more. Before departing, he waved his tiny hand at Makoto and hopped away. Right now the heat of the kitchen was too much for Koeda to withstand anyway. In the winter it was a blessing for him, but right now in the heat Persona didn’t care much for it. Hearing the sounds of men sparring which typically were screams of frustration and grunts of effort, he made his way towards their family training room. Peaking in, Koeda saw that Persona’s brothers were sparring there, their father was hovering over the two of them. He was a stern man who was barking orders on how they should proceed with their next moves. It seemed like Persona’s whole family were up early unlike him. Koeda decided to enter the training room, but made sure not to get into anyone’s way.

Persona’s father looked down at the squirrel, glaring at him menacingly. Koeda didn’t know what he did wrong to deserve that, but nonetheless he thought the old man to be scary so he kept his distance from him. Although their father didn’t throw Koeda out of the house, he did not approve of Koeda. The squirrel was saddened at his unacceptance in the home, but can see he wasn’t the only one who got hit with scrutiny. Koeda watched the sparring match. While watching the match he moved his body similar to those sparring, trying to pick up on their moves for future reference. The gentle fist was a unique form of taijutsu that you didn’t see too much. Koeda was far more used to seeing Shinobi punch with just their regular fists out in the wild. That too was different from even how animals would fight with tooth and claw. Koeda was capable of both basic taijutsu and tooth and claw fighting due to him being able to stand up straight.

The sparring didn’t end anytime soon. Koeda went out of the training room back into the hall. He hopped down the hall until he reached the exit of their home. He departed, wanting to get a look around the Hyuuga district. The area was not lit up. In fact, the Hyuuga district was really dark at this time. It was too early for the sun to light up the place completely. This was fine to Koeda as he has his animal vision and what not. He climbed the outer wall of Persona’s house, making his way to the room. From there he hopped roof to roof, his field of view now expanded. The Hyuuga district was more distinguishable than any common district within the Hidden Leaf.

Koeda decided that he had explored enough for one day. He wanted to get back to Persona before he noticed his absence. He didn’t want Persona to worry or not about Koeda being gone all of a sudden. Koeda went back roof to roof, heading towards Persona’s house. On his way back, Koeda slipped and skidded down one of the house’s roofs, down to the ground. Falling, he landed into a heap of trash. He lifted his head up, patting the garbage out of his face. He started to hear a deep snarling sound that came from the back of some kind of beast’s throat. As he looked around he noticed a dozen or so eyes that had been focused on him. He was surrounded by alleyway cats that had scars around their body. That had missing tails and eyes. They were beat up and gruesome looking.

Koeda attempted to bury himself into the pile of trash, noticing that the cats were about to pounce. He did so successfully, diving into the garbage right in time. The cats following him into it trying to find and dig him up. In the frenzy of them and the trash moving around all over the place, Koeda was able to repop out of the pile and climb up the side of the house again. He looked down, chittering his curses at them. The cats hissed their own back. Koeda knew now he could not go back smelling like the way he was. He headed for the bath house.
The steam coming off the bath house was thick and hot. Koeda had to get it over with if he wanted to get back home in time. He somersaulted into the pool of water, a trail of bubbles appearing from behind. He re-emerged at the top of the pool, preparing to get out, he was grabbed by a man. “Hmm?”, he said. He picked up Koeda who was chittering his arguments for the man to let him go. The man placed Koeda down on the ground calmly and obviously not afraid of being scratched. Koeda looked at the man gracefully and nodded his thanks to him and hopped into the nearest brush.

Persona was in the same shape he was when Koeda left him. His arm hanging off the bed in deep slumber. Koeda hopped into the bed and curled up alongside Persona’s face. He could feel Persona breathing down onto him which was rather comforting for the squirrel. Koeda was glad he had finally gotten the chance to check out his new home. It was safe here with the exception of those alley cats. Koeda knew he would come back to them soon and repay them with some acorns to the face. Koeda closed his eyes and slept, dreaming of his attack on the cats.

Koeda's Adventure (P) Empty Re: Koeda's Adventure (P)

Tue Oct 08, 2019 10:41 pm
Persona was at his home, sleeping off another laborious day at the academy and after school training. His body laid 180 degrees to what it should normally be. A pillow was placed by himself of course, on top of his head as he slept to keep the light from his eyes. His left hand was resting on the pillow, still lightly clutching the the fabric of it. His legs were sprawled out at an angle rather than straight. His right hand was hanging off of his bed, his fingers barely able to scrape the ground below him.

Koeda was laying by the side of Persona's neck. This is because his favorite positions to sleep by Persona was by his neck, on his chest or close to his arms. From these positions, Koeda could hear Persona's heart beat in its usual rhythm. It was Koeda's way of always making sure his companion was alright which in itself brought reassurance to Koeda. Koeda lifted his head looking around the area of Persona's room. Not a single light came from the outside of Persona's window indicating that it was currently still night. Koeda stretched his body, leaning the weight of himself into his front limbs and then hopped down to the floorboards below.

Sweep. Sweep. A broom could be heard running along the floor in the hallway that Persona's room was connected to. Koeda peaked out to see Makoto with a broom in hand, cleaning the hallway there gently as to not wake anyone up. Koeda could hear it perfectly, however, as he had excellent ears that picked up everything. Koeda scurried out into the hallway, slowly making his way to where Makoto was sweeping. Makoto paused what she was doing as she heard the noise getting closer and closer. She was tense from the noise, unsure of what it was coming towards her.

"Oh, it's you Koeda. You're lucky I activated my Byakugan this time. I would have screamed and woke everyone up or at the worst, I would have smashed you with the broom.", she whispered, clutching the broom tightly.

Koeda chittered at her softly. He was sorry, he walked slowly to make sure that exact situation would not happen. He learned from his last encounter with Makoto on how he should approach her. Although, admittingly, he does do it on purpose from time to time. Koeda climbed up on to the bottom portion of Makoto's broom. He chittered at her once more, again softly. Makoto continued to sweep the hall, Koeda keeping her company. He liked hanging onto the broom as she swept the house clean. It was a free and most enjoyable ride for him. Sometimes Koeda would close his eyes and imagine him gliding along in the sky without a worry in the world of having to land or look out for birds that might try to grab him.

Makoto finished cleaning the rest of the house and put the broom back where she had found it. Koeda crawled his way of Makoto's clothing to her shoulder. He nuzzled her cheek as she leaned into him. Makoto giggled at this. She went to the fridge for Koeda's reward for helping her with the sweeping or in actuality just keeping her company. She pulled out a piece of cheese, handing it to Koeda who grabbed at it enthusiastically. He started at his small meal instantly, breaking off pieces with his hands and nibbling on it. Makoto left him on the kitchen table.

"Good night, Koeda. I'm going to go to bed.", she whispered, walking back down the hall towards her room.

Koeda watched her go off in the complete dark. Koeda at that moment reflected on how much of a spectacular woman Makoto was. She was maneuvering and cleaning the whole house in the complete dark, not a candle in sight. She must sweep often to be able to clean through muscle memory now. Koeda remarked how she only used the Byakugan to check on him approaching her. Koeda wondered if Persona could sweep the way his mother could. 'Silly humans and their cleaning', thought Koeda. He never bothered with cleaning up his home in his tree in the woods.

Not a crumb of the cheese was left. Koeda hopped off the table to the ground and headed back in the direction to where Persona's room was. When Koeda got close enough, he heard a scratching noise coming from his room. Koeda rushed full speed to Persona's room hoping he could make it in time before anything bad happens. Entering the room, Koeda could make out the orange, scarred cat jumping from Persona's window. Koeda would have to teach Persona to be more vigilant even while asleep. For now, there was nothing to be done of it. Koeda went to inspect the room to make sure everything was the way it was when he departed.

It seemed there was no harm to Persona. Koeda jumped onto the dresser to make sure everything was there as well. Koeda jumped in fright. He noticed that Persona's moon necklace was missing from its usual spot. The dastardly cat must had ran off with it in order to mess with Koeda. The last encounter the cat and Koeda had was him running back the following day after their initial encounter to throw acorns at the cats. This might have seemed a little cruel looking in on the situation, but the cats had previously tried to take Koeda's life and he was proud to get his little revenge. Koeda took off following the trail of the cat that had taken Persona's necklace. He jumped out the window, gliding along in the air to cover the ground faster.

Koeda spotted the alley cat rushing back to their dumpster hideout. The moon necklace was in the mouth of the cat. Koeda could not take on an army of cats, it would be hard to take on one alone. Koeda decided to go on a path of interception of the alley cat. He flew over the streets to a spot where the cat was heading. Koeda dropped in front of the cat who took on an aggressive stance. Koeda pointed at the cat and chittered, telling the cat to give it back. The cat spit it out in front of him and hissed, daring for Koeda to try and take it. Koeda rushed the cat.

The cat's paws slashed down at Koeda. The squirrel was too fast for him. Koeda jumped in the air, dodging the cat's claws. The cat smirked, making another swipe at Koeda in the air. The cat had figured that Koeda could not move while in the air, forgetting that Koeda was in fact a flying squirrel. Koeda spread his limbs and dodged the cat's paw in the air. Koeda doing a flip around the cat's second paw, kicked down with his feet against the cat's face. The cat moved back to lesson the blow delivered by Koeda. Koeda used this momentum which brought Koeda back too, to land next to the moon necklace. Koeda grabbed the necklace with his mouth and scurried off. The cat gave chase.

The chase only lasted for about a block. Koeda soon climbed his way up a house out of reach of the cat. The cat tried to climb up the house, but was too big and clumsy to climb up the straight surface. If the cat was in his prime, he might had been able to. Koeda waved his tail at the cat, mocking him and returned back to Persona's house through the window. He placed the moon necklace on to Persona's dresser where it had been and crawled up next to Persona. He chittered and pointed a claw towards the window to Persona.

"Okay. Okay. I'll close it, relax.", said Persona, as he got up and closed the window.

Persona looked at his dresser and all of its contents. He made it a habit to view his photos and his necklace. It was a source of happiness for him and gave him motivation to continue on his tasks for that day. He tapped the photo of Midorikawa and Masahitsu. "You know, I need a picture of you still, you silly squirrel.", he said smiling. He returned to his bed, fixing his pillow and sheets. He tucked himself in, going to sleep normally this time. Koeda decided to sleep on Persona's chest this time, keeping an eye on the window.

Koeda's Adventure (P) Empty Re: Koeda's Adventure (P)

Sat Oct 12, 2019 1:06 pm
Koeda stood upright on Persona’s shoulder, looking forward towards the camera. The cameraman kept adjusting his lens to make sure the photo would come out crisp. Persona pulled at the corners of his mouth, sticking his tongue out at the camera. With a great flash the photo was taken. Persona moved from the position he had stood at for quite some time now. He was glad that he no longer had to stand still as his back was starting to ache from his stature. He ran to the camera man thanking him and received the picture of Koeda and him. “YES, FINALLY!”, he shouted. Persona waited for a long time to get a picture of the two of them together. He could finally go back to his room and put the photo next to the pictures of his family and his friends. And that’s what Persona went to go do, thanking the cameraman once more before departing.

Persona, back in his room looked at the photos on his dresser. “You know, Koeda, we have been through a lot together. That’s why I think it’s important for there to be a picture of us so that it’s easier to remember all the good times we had together. I’m hoping that I can eventually get a photo of Sensei as well. Risako has been giving it her all to help me learn to become a great shinobi and grow. She seems to be distracted often though so we might have to wait a little longer on that.”, said Persona.

Koeda went about nodding his head  in response to Persona’s words to show he was listening and that he agreed with Persona. Koeda remembered all of their times together like it was yesterday. Not that they have been together for an extremely long time, but they had some great bonding experiences shared together. Koeda was looking forward to creating more memories with Persona in the future. This was only the beginning of their story. Koeda rubbed his head against Persona’s neck soothingly. Persona went and scratched him behind his ear.

Persona’s stomach began to growl and he responded to the loud noise of his stomach by placing both of his hands over it in a weird attempt to try to suppress it. “Looks like I’m hungry. I don’t even remember eating breakfast today and it’s already around lunch time. Are you hungry too, Koeda?”, asked Persona.

Koeda chittered at Persona, telling him he too was hungry. Koeda didn’t eat anything either as of late. Both of their stomachs growled in unison. Koeda and Persona looked at each other when this happened. The two of them laughed finding it hilarious that their stomachs seemed to be trying to talk to each other. “Lets go to the kitchen and see if we can whip anything good up for us to eat. I don’t know if I’ll be able to last much longer otherwise”, he complained. Persona, with Koeda still on him, left his room to go to the kitchen.

The kitchen was empty, not a soul insight. Persona went over to the fridge and opened it, peering inside. Koeda stuck his nose out closer to the fridge sniffing hard, hoping to find something, anything. There was not a single meal inside of the refrigerator. Persona and Koeda’s stomach growled again in unison. This time the both of the sighed because at this point it was more painful than funny. “I’ll have to grab some ryo from my parents hidden stash and run out to go buy food for us. Man, I don’t know if I’m going to make it at this rate.”, said Persona. Koeda hopped down to the kitchen table, looking up at Persona. “Don’t worry, I’ll try to make it fast”, said Persona taking his leave.

Koeda looked around the kitchen room. He felt extremely lonely all by himself in there. He sniffed around and didn’t smell any of the usual people there. No scent of Persona’s brothers, mother, and father. There was, however, a strange scent that started to get stronger. Koeda’s ears perked up, trying to see if he can hear anything unusual coming this way. There was a sound of a multitude of pattering coming his way. Koeda jumped down and ran across the hall, the fastest he possibly could. Before he made it to Persona’s parent’s room, a black feline appeared in his way. Koeda turned to go left, to Persona’s room, but two cats blocked the doorway. Koeda went to turn tail, and go back the way he came, but there was an army of cats behind him as well. Koeda was trapped and there was nothing he could do. “Meooooooow”, the cat said aggressively.

The cats ganged up on Koeda, jumping him and pawing him. Their claws were not out though. Koeda tried to fight back, but he got knocked back and forth like a ping pong game, him being the ball rather than the paddle. The cats slammed him against the wall, then one of them picked him by the back with its teeth. He lifted Koeda, the rest of the cats taking this to be their queue to leave. They all got up, taking Koeda with them and departed the home, heading back to wherever the leader was taking them.

The cat moved his head left to right, swinging Koeda’s body until the cat let go, slamming Koeda against a new wall. They were in an abandoned house. The slam against the wall caused Koeda to limp in agony, trying to scurry away. There was no exit that was unguarded. The cats hissed at him whenever he got too close to one of them. “You will be our plaything for your transgressions against us”, hissed the leader cat. Koeda was scared beyond belief.

Persona coming back from the store, carried two grocery bags in each hand. He whistled to pass the time, walking back to his house. From time to time he had to wipe the drool from his mouth. The smell of the food kept getting to him, he wanted to eat now, but he wouldn’t eat while Koeda was starving. He would rather the both of them to be able to eat together at the same time. Opening the door to his home, Persona shouted out, “Koeda!? Where are you, you squirrel.”

Persona placed the grocery bags onto the kitchen table and looked around the room. The house was emptier than it was before. Persona inspected the floor, which had a ball of hair on it. ‘This hair is....unusual’, he thought. Persona knew it wasn’t Koeda’s hair, or not any human hair for it was too thick. Persona activated his Byakugan to see if Koeda or any other furred animal was nearby. Along the perimeter of his vision he saw a multitude of cats going towards a building. It wasn’t usual cat lazing about that you would expect from a cat. Persona headed over towards the direction they were heading.

The leader of the cats sniffed the air, causing everyone else in the room to start sniffing. They could all sense the presence of someone approaching. Koeda chittered in excitement. He knew it was Persona who was on the way to come rescue him. A henchman cat pawed Koeda in the head and he collapsed. Koeda trying to stand up, got pawed again and then lifted into the henchman cat’s mouth. The army of cats darted out of the building, coming out of doorways, windows and other exits.

“What the hell”, said Persona. Were his eyes deceiving him? Persona did not know. He saw an army of cats rushing out of a house. Persona rushed to intercept them, going at top speed. Persona got closer and closer. He soon was able to see that Koeda was indeed in the clutches of one of the cats. “THAT’S MY FRIEND YOU GOT THERE!”, he yelled. The leader cat hissed at Persona. Meowing to the other cats, the army stopped, facing Persona. All of them were in a pouncing position. Persona stopped in front of them not knowing how to properly react in a situation like this.

The cats charged him, biting onto his body, hanging on. Persona was in extreme pain, trying to shake them loose. He punched an orange one, making it fall. It was soon replaced with another cat, however. Persona kept trudging through towards the cat that was holding Koeda, with the cats hanging off of his own body. The leader cat jumped in front of Koeda, trying to block Persona’s path. Persona kicked him out of the way and grabbed the cat holding Koeda. The little bastard wouldn’t let Koeda go who was dangling there stiffly. Persona chopped the back of the cat’s neck, forcing the cat’s mouth to open. Koeda fell to the ground which Persona felt bad for, but could do nothing about it.

Persona threw the henchman cat he held off into the distance and placed his body over Koeda, making sure no more harm can come to him. The cats clawed at Persona, bit at Persona, and hissed at Persona. He stood his ground for about a half an hour before the cats gave up. They weren’t making any leeway even with the damage they were inflicting onto Persona whom was covered in his own blood. Once the cats scattered off, Persona lifted Koeda and put him into his hoodie, holding him inside of it. He walked back home weakly.

At home Persona put Koeda onto his bed. He went around the house, closing the windows and doors making sure they were sealed tightly. He went to the groceries and took the noodles out of the bag. He applied warm water to it, cooking it. After he finished preparing the meal he brought it to his bedroom, bring a chair up. He put the bowl on the dresser and waited for Koeda to wake up. Hours passed and Makoto walked into the room. Persona was asleep, his head sunken into the bed, next to where Koeda laid. She gasped at seeing all of the blood. She ran off to find some bandages to get started on healing her son.

With Makoto’s help, both Persona and Koeda were patched up and fed before being tucked back into bed. The two of them looked like mummies in all of their wrappings. Turning his head, Koeda licked Persona’s face. Makoto moved the hair out from her eyes, looking at the both of them. She refused to leave the room, worried more danger could approach the two of them. She didn’t know what happened yet too and she wanted answers. She couldn’t live knowing her family wasn’t safe in her own home. She’d have to tell her husband about what had occurred, he would keep them safe.
