Today will be a key factor into Rayul's future as he attempts to unlock a new variant of the powerful Dojutsu known as the Sharingan.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Training grounds throughout the ninja world are naturally field with the sounds of clashing Kunai and sparring students eager to practice and hone their skills. Taking time to mature your ability is the only way a Shinobi can truly improve. Today was that day for Rayul. No missions, no learning, no ramen: Today was a day to practice what he already knew. From birth, he was destined to be a mighty and powerful Ninja, and being born to the Uchiha Clan, who are the descendants of Indra Otstusuki, all that was needed of him was to follow through with what was already destined to him. He had the skills, the potential, the attitude...All that was required was for him to APPLY IT! He was one of the first outsides in the training grounds today. With nothing but the clothes on his back, he came prepared with nothing but the greatest weapon he was gifted: His Sharingan.
The Genin looked around, to his left a group of academy students practicing ninjutsu, and on his right were taijutsu users sparring against each other, with those practicing weaponry directly in front of him. He looked back at forth at the different cliques, but Rayul knew he could do better than this. He knew he had the potential to focus on them all at once. The world around him was constantly in motion. Clouds were always on the go, animals graced with the ability to take flight did so as often as the moon rose, and time itself waited for no man. The way he perceived the world was very mono...always taking in what was near and close to him before noticing distant details. He needed to change this perception...He needed to realize that the world in which he lives is in a constant state of change. Things that were here seconds ago are no longer present. The strongest Shinobi can become the weakest instantaneously if the situation occurs. He knew he was never promised everything. This gift of his was nearly the cause of his death. It was the cause of his parent's death, the reason his father cursed him, and the reason his Clan was and still is hunted down to this very day. Slightly angered at remembering his past, his Sharingan is activated.
Now looking up, Rayul shifts his eyes quickly back and forth at the different groups. As quick as a slight movement is made, his eyes follow it. He tracks a kunai being thrown to its end position and watches with precision as the taijutsu kids perform various moves on one another. He notices one kid shadow-boxing with a training dummy, something Rayul normally does as his form of self-discipline and training, and an idea sparks. Using his Sharingan he closely monitors the boy, and slowly he shifts his body to match the form of the young taijutsu user. He practices keeping up with the boy, mimicking each punch and kick the boy does. At first, it looks like sloppy mimicry, but over time, Rayul's movement nearly lines up with the boy's almost perfectly. The boy has been challenged to a spar, and as they walk over towards a small area in the middle, Rayul follows. The boys enter the ring, bow to each other, and moments later begin to fight. Rayul watches them, and as he watches he tries to predict the moves of the boy before the Taijutsu user acts upon them. He begins dodging imaginary enemies, pretending that he is facing the challenger of the kid his focus was on. Another ninja within the Training Grounds notices him and think he's doing some type of break dancing. No. Rayul was becoming more in tune with what was happening IN THE MOMENT. His eyes were becoming faster. He noticed it was becoming easier and easier for him to keep track of the movements as each second passed. As he looked around, noticing the chakra around him, he shifts his focus instantly to a kunai that is heading his way. Without near thought, time seems to slow down at the moment for him, as he notices the Kunai fly past him as he leans to the side dodging it. It shoots past him with speed and hits a target that was a few meters behind him stuck to a tree. "That Kunai was sped up with chakra, but my eyes were able to see it. My eyes were faster.", he thinks as he reflects on what just occurred. "Throw another one!" he tells the small girl in which the thrown Kunai originated. Confused at first, the girl shrugs her shoulder and reaches into her weapon pouch, flicking it into her hand before lunging it towards Rayul. From a distance, the kunai looks far, and as it approaches him with haste, he focuses his Sharingan on the weapon yet again. It's moving at turtle speeds for him, but he knows that it's coming full speed in reality. The Kunai approaches closer and closer. While his eyes are focused on the Kunai he still takes time to notice what's around him, training himself to be aware of his surroundings at all times. He finally grasped a new concept of the world in which he lived: Time may not wait for any man, but with the right skills you can slow it down to a damn near stop. "With these eyes, there is no limit on my potential anymore.", he thought as the kunai nearly reaches his face. "The only limit on my power is thinking it's a limit, to begin with!" he declares. As the kunai nears what looks to be it's intended target, The Shinobi of the Cloud closes his eyes for a moment. "I am Rayul Tunechi. And this is the blessings of the Uchiha clan!" his mind yells within. His eyes flung open, and while eyeballing the kunai directly in its face, A 2nd Tomoe appears below the iris of his Dark-Red eyes. He leans again at what seems to be the last second, dodging the Kunai once more as it misses its target behind him. His Sharingan has awoken a new stage. As the girl claps at how impressed she was at his reaction time, he glances over to the fountain that's behind her. Feeling as if something has changed about him, he rushes over to it. Peering over the ledge and into the fountain, he looks at his reflection upon the waters, and sure enough, something about him did in fact change. "My eyes. There's a 2nd tomoe now," he said to himself. The second stage of his Sharingan has been awoken, and Rayul is still trying to grasp such an achievement. Previous training, reflecting of the world, emotion distraught and every single action that has taken place since the day he was born has all helped him achieve a newer state of conscious understanding, and with it, a new power for the infamous dojutsu known throughout the world. Coming empty-handed, to begin with, Rayul rushes home with his Sharingan still in an "on" state.
Running up the steps, he bursts inside the door of his home, scaring his Aunt who was sitting beside the window reading literature. "Auntie! Look!" he says as he runs up to her. "My eyes, they have a second Tomoe now," he tells her. She closely examines her nephew and a small smile forms on her face. "You're making promising progress unlocking the variants of your eyes, Rayul, in fact you were able to get to that stage faster than both me and your mother were able to during our teenage years." she says to him. She was excited for him, but it wasn't anything worth throwing a party over, for she knew the day would come in which he would unlock them, and she knows there will come a time in which more powerful variants of his eyes will awaken. The Uchiha Clan was a powerful one, and the ninja who hailed from it proved this theory to be true. She knew more about the potential Rayul had than he knew himself, hell, the Genin hasn't even learned Fire Release yet, and that's a specialty of the Uchiha. It was stated that an Uchiha cannot reach adulthood until they are able to perfect the Great Fire ball Technique. As he hugs her and runs upstairs into his room, she smiles while finishing up the last chapters of her book, knowing that the only thing between Rayul unlocking the full potential of his eyes was Rayul himself.
And thus, a new journey is unfolding for the Promising Ninja of Kumogakure.
