A Transplant to Pay For
Fri Mar 13, 2020 12:26 pm
Serah walked into the Suna hospital after asking around to find out where it was. It hadn't been hard to find in the grand scheme of things. If she was correct then her purpose for coming to the Wind country was nearly fulfilled.
"Hi," she said to whoever looked important in the hospital, "I wanted to schedule an appointment with the Kage. I heard he has some procedure to enhance a shinobi's capabilities. How much is it?"

Kenzo could do little more than scowl at the girl that came up to him, asking not only about their so called "Kage", but also about the monsters disgusting procedures. It was a good thing that the beast wasn't particularly bothered by these types of thoughts, or the fact that people disagreed with him, or else his days would be numbered... if nothing else, he respected the creatures abilities and professionalism. It both understood and accepted that people may disagree with his practices, and even dislike him as a person due to his past actions... both descriptions fit by the man that stood before Serah.
"Those procedures are not my concern, nor is the blood money that the Kazekage accepts in exchange for them. You will find him dwelling in the hospitals morgue, just follow the black line on the floor and you will reach it without issue." The man would explain, his tone perfectly cordial and even as he directed the little lamb into the den of the beast. Really... the older doctor found himself wondering just how much money their illustrious leader actually made from these dark dealings of his, it must have been quite the sum if he was willing to deal with the scorn they earned him from the more legal medics in Suna.
Ahh but really, why would he care about them at all, they were simple subordinates of his, and regardless of how much they disagreed with his practices none of them would dare to try to stop him from performing then... or god forbid try to sabotage him in some way. Ethics and morals he may have, but he also possessed a brain and a will to live, so he was content to simply condemn the mans actions through words alone.

Serah was quickly getting the impression that the people of Suna didn’t care for their kage’s dealings. First there was the guard and now this hospital worker… it made her wonder why. Seeds of doubt were put in her mind when she was directed to the morgue but she did her best to ignore them and the rude comment about her blood money. “Thanks,” she said with a very forced smile.
Serah followed the black line and thought about how many people came for these procedures if there was a damn line showing people where to go. She sincerely hoped that going to a morgue didn’t mean that the success rates were low. Eventually she arrived at the morgue and hopefully she would see the kage there. Serah would wear a slightly worried expression on her face as she arrived, not really sure what she was getting herself into.

Kenshin had been watching the encounter from the beginning of course, his Byakugan again being used to its fullest potential as his watched the newest visitor to Sunagakure interact with Kenzo Yagami, one of the newest additions to Sunagakure’s hospital, and certainly one of the most moral and virtuous men of the lot. The Reaper respected the Medical Specialist for his skill in the field alone, but what truly made him keep the man around despite his constant complaints was exactly that… his complaints, the man had his own set of morals and ethics, and he refused to deviate from those… and that was something that The Ragdoll wanted from those that worked in his employ. He didn’t want mindless peons that obeyed his every word, that worshipped him as some godly figure… he wanted those that had their own standards and convictions, those that wouldn’t allow themselves to be swayed by something as insignificant as coin or as useless as fear. Now, this only went so far, as if these people went out of their way to disrupt his business or interfere with his operations they would be removed… but that was another thing he respected about Kenzo, the man knew when to stay his hand.
He could see the anxiety on the face of the woman as she approached the main entrance to the morgue, her inner thoughts all but visible to The Raggedy Man as he simply observed her facial expression and the way that she carried herself… pitiful really, but at the same time he couldn’t exactly blame her. The stories that were told of him would be quite terrifying to most, and if the missive he had received from Han was to be believed she didn’t even know what she was signing herself up for, only knowing that the Kage of this village was able to bestow power upon others and was selling it for a price. He would chuckle lightly to himself, not loud enough for the woman outside the door to hear, before he would call out a single word.
“Enter!”
If she chose to heed his word and enter the room she would be greeted by the sight of Kenshin, hunched over his desk, scribbling some notes out with his back facing her.
“Please give me a few moments, I will be with you shortly.” He would ask politely, his tone not exactly warm but certainly not cold, all the while he finished up scribbling down the notes from his latest tests.
The moment he was done he would release a light sigh, place his pen down upon his desk, before standing up and sitting down on his chair again, this time facing Serah and having his legs spread around the back of the chair, his arms folded over the head of it and allowing his chin to rest upon the pale flesh.
“Apologies for that, you caught me as I was writing out my notes. Now, I hear from Han that you are here seeking power? If that is indeed the case I can help, for the correct price of course, but I will need to know a little bit more about what exactly you are after… after-all, my selection is quite vast.” The words that slowed from the pale lips of the unholy creature were sweet, the small smirk on his face seeming to contain genuine mirth, and even its eyes matched that facade. But really, to those that knew him or could see past his well constructed mask, they could see the predator sizing up what had just entered his territory, ready to eliminate her at the slightest sign that she could pose a threat to him or what he was building.

Serah’s heart skipped a beat when she was told to enter. Now was the moment of truth. Was she walking to her own demise or was she about to get the power up that she dreamed of? She scurried in and was told to wait for a bit while the busy kage did his work. Serah hoped that this wasn’t the kage’s office. How morbid that would be if he was so surrounded by death that he spent all his time here? She tried not to let the thought cloud her mind too much as she stood patiently and thought about what she was supposed to say. She had worked so hard to just get here, she hadn’t quite thought about what was next.
As Kenshin spoke to Serah she couldn’t help but feel like she was a mouse talking to a cat. She had felt intimidation from local crime bosses but this was on another level entirely. She realized this person could end her with a mere thought or flick of the wrist if he really wanted to. So, she tried to be nice, not mention the smell or how she was uncomfortable being in a morgue to begin with.
“Oh uhm, yes,” Serah said, not sure how he had already heard of her but then again she had taken some time to get here. Serah reached into her pocket with a trembling hand and withdrew a stack of cash which she held out to the kage at a distance since she was still a little too intimidated to approach him. It was basically all the money she had, 25,000 ryo in total. “I am seeking power. I’m an Uchiha who specializes in medicine and I’m dabbling in getting better at ninjutsu and genjutsu. I was hoping for you to, I dunno, do something to me that would make my jutsu stronger. I’m not sure what you mean by your vast selection though… what exactly do you do to people that makes them more powerful?” As she asked this question she developed a suspicion that it had something to do with dead bodies. Gross.

The eyes of The Reaper would remain trained upon Serah even as she withdrew most of the coin that she was carrying, her lightly shaking hand extended out towards him even as she refused to move an inch… not that it mattered much, he still needed to know just what type of power she was interested in before he could really offer her anything. As she explained who, or rather, what she was and exactly what she specialised in, and what she was after, The Ragdoll would simply chuckle to himself as he extended his right hand out towards the girl, the limb itself turning a deep grey as it began to extend, growing until it easily covered the two meters between them and he could take the money, before retracting so that he could count it. Once he had confirmed that it was indeed 25,000 ryo he would meet her eyes once more, and the cordial smile on his face would become an amused smirk.
“As an Uchiha you are no doubt aware that your bloodlines, both the Sharingan and your Uchiha Genetics themselves, are quite superior to those of normal people, your chakra is more potent and your reserves stronger. The same goes for many shinobi that belong to clans, Senju, Uzumaki, Akari, the list goes on and on really, but each of those clans is… different, in their own ways. The powers that they can unlock are quite different from those of each other, but in the end they are still superior to the everyday human. Now… there exists a way for shinobi, be they from clans or common-folk, to gain bloodlines. This process is referred to by most as Transplantation and is quite illegal to the world at large, which is quite understandable really… but when have good shinobi ever let something like ethics, morals or laws get in their way.” The gleam in his eyes had become positively predatory as his grin turned more sinister, and with the most minuscule pulse of chakra his eyes would awaken, the left taking on the form of his Sharingan in its 3rd Tomoe form, while the right eye would remain the same, save the veins bulging around it.
“The power I offer is tied to the bloodlines of other clans, and the way that I go about bestowing this power to people is by transplanting the organs of a member of the original clan into the body of the recipient. It sounds simple but in truth is quite complex, but I do not feel the need to get into a discussion about gene splicing right now, and really that is all you need to understand if you still plan on purchasing one since I will be the one performing the procedure for you. Now, if you are still interested in this power then I have quite a bit I can offer you, but in my opinion the clans with bloodlines of the most interest to you would be the Senju Clan, or the Jugo Clan. Senju are known for their potent chakra along with their immense reserves of it, and possess the ability to learn an Advanced Element known as Wood Release, widely regarded as one of the most fearsome and power Advanced Elements known to the world. Jugo, on the other hand, while known to possess chakra as potent as Senju, are known for their ability to not only shift their flesh, as you saw me demonstrate only moments ago, but also their ability to regenerate their chakra far quicker than an average person. And on top of that they passively absorb a power very few can truly control, Natural Chakra, the chakra produced by the planet itself, and when absorbed this can be turned into a source of immense power… do keep in mind though, this power is immensely difficult to control, and failure to do so could very well result in your death. Of course I do have many others if you wish to hear of them, but in my personal opinion those are two that fit best with your current wishes.”
With his explanations given Kenshin would simply await a response from the young Uchiha.

Serah almost cringed when she saw the man's arm extend towards her but didn't have the nerve to do anything about it. Thankfully he just took the money which allowed her to clasp her hands together at her waist to stem the shaking.
As Ke shin spoke Serah realized that she was gaining a valuable bit of insight into the illegal world of medicine. She listened closely as her face went from nervous to interested. One could tell that the theory of transplantation and combining bloodlines together greatly intrigued her. It sounded doable too, if it was just the matter of organ transplantation. Hell, even she could do one of those. But experimentation would come at a later date since she was sure there was more to it if it was such a taboo practice.
Serah's expression turned pensive as her options were explained. Had she been presented with a myriad of options she might have taken forever to decide, but between senju and jugo, only senju stood out to her. She didn't even know what nature chakra was let alone how to use it... But the legends of the senju were commonplace, and if it gave her access to the wood release...
"Senju sounds good," she said confidently. "Thank you, for explaining it all to me. As a medical kunoichi this stuff is fascinating," she said as an afterthought. She didn't really know what else to say at this point and looked around. If Kenshin led her to an operating area she would follow him, or if he had more things to discuss she was open to that too.

The Reaper would resist the urge to smirk as Serah chose to receive a Senju transplant, the very transplant that he had been steering her towards… the corpse of Snow was beginning to run low on transplantable parts, and he had recently obtained a secondary Senju corpse, so he was quite hesitant to sell more until he had a back-up supply. When she thanked him for imparting his knowledge he would give a light smile, before simply nodding towards the girl. As a medical specialist himself he was always happy to impart his knowledge onto those that wished to learn more about the field, even if their interest in his chosen field was little more than a passing fancy on their part. Of course, this was only certain knowledge, there were many more things that he knew that would only be passed down to his chosen apprentice/successor, such as the multitude of techniques that he had created. Now, with the choice made, Kenshin would stand from his chair and move towards one of the many Autopsy Tables in the room, this one covered by a white sheet that was obviously covering a corpse from sight. He would grasp one end of the sheet above the head of the corpse, and pull it down until all it covered from sight was the naked lower body of Yoshou. He had been performing a blood test on the corpse before Serah entered the room, and as it turned out the boy had been a Senju… how lucky he had been when the fool had decided to try scalding him in his own village.
“Please remove your shirt and take a seat on the edge of one of the free tables, this will be over quite quickly” The Ragdoll would state with a small smirk, picking a scalpel up from the tool table he had sitting near the corpse. He would make a sizeable incision along the boys hip, and place his right palm upon the cut, before willing his threads out of his own body and into the corpse, where they would sever and pull one of his kidneys free.
Provided that Serah had done what he asked Kenshin, who was still holding the organ with his threads, would begin to go through a familiar set of hand seals, stopping once blue flames had erupted from the tips of his fingers.
“This technique will remove your ability to feel pain for close to ten minutes, the chakra will disrupt the pain receptors of your brain and will make this process much more bearable for you while you are conscious.” He would explain, and once that was done, he would place his ‘flaming’ fingers upon the centre of her chest, allowing his fingers to push in slightly and for the ‘flames’ to be absorbed into her body.
Once this was done he would get to work, using the same scalpel to make a similar incision upon her hip, and doing the exact same thing he had done to the corpse to her before replacing her own kidney with that of the corpse. Once it was in place and being held there by his threads The Half-Blood would activate his Mystical Palm Aura and begin to heal the damage left behind, and as he felt the organ get truly reattached he would withdraw his threads and allow the last of the damage to heal. When the process was complete he would perform the Chakra Cleanse technique and remove any blood from his hands, before retrieving a small hand towel from his desk and lightly tossing it to Serah, so that she could clean up any blood left on her.
“And with that our business has concluded, give the organ some time to acclimate to your body and it will eventually bestow its power to you. The time it takes tends to vary from person to person so don’t be alarmed if it takes a little while. Of course, be aware that if you lose the organ, or it is destroyed, then you will lose the power it grants you.” He would explain, hoping to assuage any remaining fears or doubts that she may have about the success of the procedure.
“Now, was there anything else?”

Serah was already mentally prepared for a dead body to get pulled out but it was still gross and offputting. She wanted to look away as she laid down and popped off her shirt but she didn’t. She wanted to see what the kage would do because she had a feeling she was going to try this out for herself some day. It looked simple enough and fast too as the process looked to be just taking out a kidney and swapping out her own. She thought that she could have just done this with Wan the other day and saved a whole lot of money, but at least now she knew that it would have worked.
The whole process was, as promised, quick and painless. Serah was healed up just fine and wondered what it how long it would take for her new kidney to kick in and give her that promised power boost. She smiled at the kage with a tear in one eye which was partly from happiness and partly from nerves. “Thank you for your services,” she told him as she threw her shirt back on and got up, “I look forward to seeing you again soon, if this kidney serves me well.” She nodded to him and left the morgue. She had a friend waiting for her and she didn’t want to keep him waiting any longer…
