Task: Our local mine once again needs our help. This time, we're to find the rarer Tungsten veins, crush the ore, and wash it with alkalin solutions that allows one to create the tungsten metal. Get enough of it and smelt it, and we may get an ingot as a reward. Sounds good? It's because it is. Get to work!
"Get up dude. We got some training to get done." Snow would hear the voice, but he would ultimately ignore it. Snow had been doing nothing but...things... lately and he wanted some time to just sleep and forget about his strife in the world. His past was beginning to fade away into the abyss that was the depths of his memory, but from time to time they would visit with him when he would be within the realms of consciousness, and the realm of his subconscious. Lying still in his bed, he would contemplate the idea of getting out of his bed to go on another mission. He knew that the mine was looking for folks to help them mine the metal called Tungsten, but to be quite honest he could not be bothered to do that at the moment.
He also knew that he was going to need to work on not only his Ninjutsu, but he was going to need to work on his Fuuinjutsu also. There had always been one realm of Ninjutsu that he wanted to work on especially, the idea of bringing forth a massive "helper" into battle. Taichi had seen some people in Konoha, including himself create clones, but he wanted something more, something better. He had heard stories from his father about a technique known only to their clan. His father didn't know much about it, but what he did know was that it was an extremely closely held secret and only a few of the members of the Yuki clan actually knew anything about it. Luckily for Snow his father overheard two heads of the Yuki clan in Konoha conversing about the technique when he was fixing their blades on the forge.
His father was not able to tell him much about the technique other than it was a closely held secret and it had something to do with creating a massive "helping hand" in battle. Snow was not entirely certain what exactly that would have entailed, so he decided to do some looking of his own within the Yuki district of Konoha. He broke a few laws to get to the information he wanted, such as breaking into the home of the Yuki clan head and looting through the tomes at his desk and the book shelves that surrounded it.
It was a cold night, the moon was new and it was nearly pitch black and with the Quiet Footsteps technique that he had seen Yoi use from time to time, he was nearly undetectable with his chakra suppression on top of everything else. He used his weapons of ice technique to create a small pry bar that would allow him to break into the head clansman's home. So quietly and so slowly he would lift the window just enough to where he would be able to sneak through.
As he climbed through the window, he was careful not to knock anything over and not to make any sounds that would wake anyone or create any panic within the home. As he began searching the house he thought of an idea that would likely end up getting him caught, but at least it would get him within the room that he wanted to get to. He grabbed a scroll out of his pack, and he began walking through the house to see just which room would be the man's study, hoping that it would be within there. He found a room that had an extra lock on the door. Figuring that that was the room he was looking for he rolled out the scroll and performed the hand seals required to release the water before placing his foot directly on the middle of the scroll.

Figuring that that was the room he was looking for he rolled out the scroll and performed the hand seals required to release the water before placing his foot directly on the middle of the scroll.
Snow knew that he was going to only have a few minutes to allow this water to be in the house before he was going to need to make himself scarce so he made his moves quick. The water would quickly rush out of the scroll when Snow would perform the hand seals required for the Hiding in the Water technique. Snow's body would sink into the water, completely submerging his entire body within the water. While within the water he would quickly move his body through the water as it seeped under the door into the study.
Now being completely in the study, he would rise from the water and he would quickly search through the entirety of the clan head's desk, searching every scroll and book before finding absolutely nothing. He would begin to look around the room frantically, being sure that someone would be up by now realizing that a window was wide open and letting in the cold breeze, or seeing a flood within their own home. Snow began pulling all of the books out from the shelf to check every single page of whatever he could find, hoping that he would be able to find exactly what it was that his father was talking about. "Helpful hand what the hell could that mean?" Snow would ask himself as he pulled the very last book off of the man's bookshelf in the study.
Snow then began looking through the rest of the room, figuring that if it wasn't in a book or in a scroll around the study, then maybe he had it in a container of sorts, hiding it from view. Snow knew that he was going to have to get moving sooner rather than later, but he wasn't going to leave until he found himself information about that technique. Looking across the room he found a smaller statue, holding two hands out, looking as though it was offering a "Helping hand!" Snow would speak out loud far louder than he had expected himself to do. Snow, still using his quiet footsteps technique, would run up to the statue trying to observe any oddity that he would be able to use to his advantage.
After a few minutes of observing the state, analyzing its every inch, Snow could hear small thuds, letting him know that there was someone or something up at the hour. Snow would pick up the statue and see if there was anything underneath the statue itself. To his surprise there actually was. A scroll slid out of the bottom of the statue and when Snow grabbed it after replacing the statue and when he rolled it out. He heard someone beginning to speak. Snow suddenly panicked and knew that he was going to need to get the hell out of there.
Snow formed the hand seals to seal the water back into the scroll so he would not be found out so quickly. The words he heard were about the window, so he prayed that the clan's head or whatever guard was about to ring Snow's neck and possibly killing him for breaking into the clan head's house. With the water sealed safely into the scroll, he knew that he was going to need to figure out just how the hell he was going to get out of the study before he was found out and thrown into jail for the rest of his life or killed outright.
Snow thought for a moment and he thought of a plan that was surely not going to work, but he was going to have to try it out anyway. He heard the guards talking to each other, asking if they had seen or heard anything within the house. Snow hoped that they would have not heard anything, which he was happily proved to be correct when they shut the window and told each other to keep an eye out for someone that may be trying to steal or rob the house.
Snow listened to the retreating footsteps of both of the guards as they went farther and farther from the study. Snow leaned against the wall that was behind him and he began to read the scroll that he had in his hand that he got from the statue. The information that he found within the scroll was something so mind blowing, the very idea of having a massive figure, a Jotunn as they called it at your side was more than just comforting to him.
Snow did his best to memorize as much as he possibly could from the scroll before rolling it back up and placing it within the statue that he had found it in the first place. With the knowledge within his mind, he began thinking of a way for him to get out of not only the study, but out of the house completely. Snow would think, think for a few minutes until he had a plan that would prove to be stupid, reckless, and quite possibly idiotic, so he figured he would give it a shot.
Snow would perform the transformation technique to look just like the clan's head. He would open the door in the new form and he would begin walking down the hall that ran perpendicular to the study. The moment he opened the door, two guards would immediately run down the hall from both directions to catch the intruder. Snow, looking like the old man would just continue to walk down the hall, trying his best to look as normal as possible. He would continue down the hall as the to guards would stop him and ask him what he was doing. Snow couldn't think of anything else other than to just begin to have a coughing fit right in the middle of the hall. He waved them off as he began to walk down the hall toward the front door. The men would try to stop him, but he would just continue to cough into his elbow, waving them off. He knew that the transformation technique did not change his voice, but only that of his appearance. He was going to have to find a way to fix that, but that will be a job for another time. He would continue to get closer to the front door, hoping to finally be able to pull off the caper. He got to the front door and he would open it and sprint through the door without looking back or anything else. Snow would sprint away from the house and undo the transformation technique.

Snow finally decided to listen to the voice he was hearing and woke up. He swung the blanket off of his body and stood to his feet, complaining as he continued to stand. He was always the one that would be up bright and early bright eyed and bushy tailed. Ready to train, ready to fight, ready to go on missions, whatever really. But even he had been suffering from laziness in his passed few days since he got to Volcano. Was he beginning to be a bum? Was he being relaxed on his own work ethic? There was probably plenty of reasons, but for now he was going to need to put all of that behind him so he would be able to get to the mines and get his mission underway. The quicker he would be able to start it, the quicker it would end and the quicker he could get paid. The great thing about this mission was there was a possible materialistic reward outside of just the money, he would even be able to have himself a bit of the metal to take home with him and do...something... with it. He was not entirely sure just what he was going to do with the hunk of metal, but he had been told about a young Hyuga member that was quite handy with the augmentation of both armor and weaponry, so he figured that was just what he needed to do was get a hold of someone like that when he got the metal from the mine.
Snow was walking through the village of Funkagakure, he would wonder just where exactly where the mines were on an island such as this. He scoured the entire island trying to find exactly where the mine would be. "It can't be inside the Volcano so where the hell is it?" Snow would think to himself as he rounded the entire island for the second time. Snow finally swallowed his pride and he went off looking for someone that might be able to point him in the right direction. He didn't really know who to speak with, but he did find himself running into a blacksmith's shop. Being that his father was one, he figured that would be the one person that he would be able to trust so he walked up to the shop.
"Hello sir, you are a man who knows where the mine is I would assume?" Snow would speak with a tone that would be both respectful and inquisitive. The blacksmith would turn to the teenager and would respond with a cantankerous, yet helpful tone. "Yeah I know where it is. Get yourself to the docks and have them take you over to one of the islands that surround this place, just tell the ferryman where it is that you are wanting to go and he will take you, understand?" Snow would nod his head and thank the man. "Thank you sir, that was a lot of help." Snow would then wave to the man and he would make his way over to the docks, just like the man had suggested.
As he walked down the main road that led over to the docks, he would think of the woman that he had met when he got here, Sephora. She was an interesting woman to say the absolute least. She was a person that wouldn't make it easy to read her. She certainly had her demons, but who didn't truly. He would wonder just what it was she was after in life. Was she filled with ambition and just had no true outlet for them? Was she truly happy with her life? Questions Snow would possibly never have the answer to.
Snow found the docks and he told the Ferryman where it was he wished to go. "I would like to go to the island with the mine." Snow was not entirely sure what it was that he wanted to tell him as to where he needed to go, but the words he spoke was the best he could do. The ferryman looked at Snow and understood what the teenager was after and told him that he could take him there. Snow was then motioned to board the ferry and they would be off as soon as he would board.
Snow and the old ferryman headed over to the island that had the mine within. Snow was more than excited to get this mission over with, so the quicker they would be able to get there, the better in his heart. Snow and the ferryman swapped stories and talked to each other for the short boar ride it was to get from the main island to the mining island, but once they arrived, the ferryman was quick to boot Snow off of the boat. Snow understood that he had plenty of other stops and ferries to take care of, so he wouldn't hold him up any longer.
Snow stepped off of the boat and he headed into the mines where he was greeted by a less than welcoming individual who turned out to be the foreman of the mines. Snow would greet the man, but would receive no such pleasantries in response. "Go down the shaft and turn right." The man would tell Snow before he even had the chance to tell him what his business was down in the mine. Snow then nodded his head and he headed down the mine shaft, just as he was requested.
Snow walked down the mine shaft and he was met with another less than pleasant human being that was there to what seemed be the opposite of whatever a greeter was supposed to do to humans when they came into contact with them. Snow was bombarded with the instructions on how to mine out the ore and where to bring the ore to have it smelted. Snow nodded his head, thanking him for his time while walking deeper into the mine. Snow had a pick in his hands and he began hacking away at it. He would use his slightly enhanced strength from being a shinobi to increase his speed of production. With every strike, there would be more and more chunks of the Earth that would fall to the floor. Snow was told that there was going to be ore in these walls, so he was going to keep striking at it until he found exactly what it was what he was mining for.
Snow would look around the mine, feeling the emptiness begin to become more and more intense as he listened to the silence that the mine would provide. He had the pick in his hand and he would walk through the mines, wondering if he would find somebody within the mine that could instruct him exactly where the ore that he was looking for was. As he walked through the mine, he would finally be driven crazy by the silence. He created two shadow clones of himself, hoping that he would be able to at least speak to himself through his clones, rather than trying to speak to himself within his own mind.
"Hey man. What's up?" Snow's clone would ask Snow. "Yeah I am good, just beginning to fall into the emptiness you know? Figured it would be easier to actually hear another voice ringing through the shafts of this mine rather than the silence." Snow responded. "Yeah man that makes sense. So what exactly do you want to talk about?" The clones would both ask Snow as they continued down the mine shaft to get to himself some Tungsten. Snow held the pickaxes and finally he had found someone within the depths of the mine that seemed to know just where he was supposed to be going. Unlike all of the other people that he had met so far during this experience he was very understanding and while he wouldn't say he was kind, he would at least say he was understanding.
The man that the three Snows found within the mines explained just what he was looking for and where he was going to be able to find it. There was already a few veins that had been exposed within the mine that would be easy for Snow and his two clones to begin mining for the next few hours and he could easily get a whole day's worth of work done with little issue. Snow thanked the man and he headed deeper into the mine in hopes to find himself the area that would house the open veins of the tungsten metal. Strolling through the mines he came across the veins and he began swinging his pick axe. With each swing of the Snow's pick axes, more and more of the ore would be chipped out of the Earth and would begin gathering within the ice trough that he had made before he started tearing the Earth up.
When the Trough would fill up. Snow would have his two shadow clone pick up the trough and begin to pour them into the mine cart. After doing this for a few hours, the Snow team had filled four mine carts worth of ore, which would equal out to be two days worth of work for a five man squad. Snow smiled as he looked at the work that they had done. Snow flipped the switch that would send the mine cart back to the hub to be smelted and processed to ingot. Snow figured he would be the best self he could be and would fill a few more carts for the next crew, trying to show good faith to the remainder of the miners that would be working this job.
