Meeting a new face

The day was very young and the sun was warmily smiling. A brown skin shinobi was seen lying on his bed looking at the ceiling in his small room. the light of the brand new day radiate through his room. The orphan boy lie on his bed pondering about how his day would go. There was really nothing he had in mind to do today, he had not being doing much since he lost his old woman. The hyuuga boy had isolated himself from the outside world for so many months dwelling in depression. All those days with his old woman were always flashing through his mind like an ignited bolt of lightning.  Though It was not easy to let go, the hyuuga boy was able to get himself together. Every time the depressive thought would come, the spiky haired would fight it.  He would let not let it weigh him down. The  boy would rise to his feet, he was half naked with only his black short on. He would do his daily routines, have a meal and  a warm bath.  The hyuuga would wore his usual ninja outfit; a black open button shirt, white v neck shirt, black short and black shinobi sandals. The  boy had his forehead protector tied and had bandages wrapped around his arm  and right leg. He got the idea of wrapping bandages around his body from a book he read long time ago, one of the hyuuga ancestors dressed that way and Sakuragi would imitate it to complete his looks.

 The white eyed boy who was ready to head out would ensure all the windows and dooors are properly locked before leaving the house. The only thing in his mind was training.  He could not visit friends for he had none. His former team mates Kuniko and Takeshi he once considered family but aftere the death of his grandma, he would desert them and walk with them no more, sakuragi had always been the old one out of his mates. Sakuragi was alone but he was constantly training. Today would not be an exeception. The hyuuga walked through the street of hoshigakure, here he must pass to reach his usual training ground. It was a forest of all kind of trees, animals and all creepy creature. The one reason why this place was one of his training was because people seldom visit here. Sakuragi eventually reached the forest where he  is to commence training. This was not his first time of training here, not the second , no the third, not once had he stumble upon another shinobi here.  The evergreen trees with evergreen branches and evergreen leaves  give good memories and a chilled atmosphere. The green grass make a perfection background of nature.
The boy finally in the forest was now ready to train. That's is all he could for now. His white eye ran through the area to choose a perfect spot to start. He had not yet activated his byakugan so he was not fully aware of everything going on in his surroundings. The boy would gently dropp his nina bag to the ground and would began doing push ups as warm up before he fully commence train. The hyuuga boy hopes to get the best out of the training.

As would often be the case Akaboshi could be found outside doing his rounds around the streets of Hoshigakure in order to make sure no mischief was taking place in his village. Peace had returned in the Land of Haven and it was up to shinobi like him to ensure it would last this time. Too many lives had already been lost in the chaos which was why the red haired Uzumaki wanted to avoid that their efforts would be in vain. It would be quite the waste if all had been for naught. A lot of people worked hard to reinstall order and free Hoshigakure from the disturbance that used to keep it hostage. Calmness had finally arrived in the village and he wanted to keep it that way.

Akaboshi, not dressed in his usual black leather jacket, was wearing his Chuunin Flak Jacket instead, a white V-neck underneath. Complementing his outift with dark blue, denim jeans held up by a simple brown belt, a silver chain attached from the belt to his back pocket, black shoes to top off the rest of his outfit. Other jewelry pieces like a silver ring and a star-shaped necklace would serve as accessories. The redhead figured it was about time for a short break and decided to make his way over to the Training Grounds where he would hopefully come across some shinobi eager to improve themselves. Just because peace had returned didn't mean they could slack off. Of all time now would be the moment to increase their strength to make sure they were prepared for the worst.

Enjoying the gentle touch of the sun on his skin the redhead arrived at the forest where people often came to train. In all honesty it had been some time since he had visited the place himself. Busy forging other plans and ideas to ensure the village's safety it had been a while since he dropped by the Training Grounds so he would take the opportunity to fully enjoy the moment. As he was scanning the field he noticed a young teenage boy busy doing some push-ups. Akaboshi figured it was just part of his warm-up as he sincerely doubted a small exercise like that would be enough to break a sweat. Not being familiar with the individual he decided to walk up to him but he chose to wait until he was done with his push-ups. "Greetings, young shinobi. Hard at work I see?" Having finished his sentence and grabbing the boy's attention he lighted up one of his cigarettes while he would wait for a response.

The atmosphere had been an extra  source of inspiration to him since he got to the training ground. The hyuuga boy after scanning the area would begin push ups,  "one, two, three, four, five, six... forty, forty one, forty two" though he was not completely aware of his surroundings, he could hear fading footsteps approach. He still had not activated his byakugan. by this time. The spiky haired boy would raise is head upward from his push up position to see who was approaching. The white eyed boy had no friend, he had deserted his team mates, Kuniko hyuuga and takeshi hyuuga after his granny's death. Whoever is coming is not a friend his, the person would only have stumbled on him. 

Sakuragi fixed his gaze on the redhead as he approached him on his push up position, his body still resting on the ground. Initially, the hyuuga boy would think the unknown person would pass him by since they did not know each other, he was however surprised when the redhead walked closer and talked to him. He had never seen this face before. Though the incoming redhead was not wearing a village head band , the hyuuga boy immediately knew he was a shinobi the moment he saw his chunin jacket. He had seen one on Ayato  before.


Once the unknown shinobi was within range, he would pull how a cigarettes while sakuragi would slowly rise to his feet and face the new comer. "Hi,  I was just trying to warm up here  before beginning training" he would reply the new comer who is now probably smoking a cigarrette. Sakuragi would avoid mentioning that he is an hyuuga , but even though he does that  thid person might probably know of his clan dojutsu just by seeing his white eyes. That was an assumption since he did not know how much they know. The young hyuuga would also avoid been too forward. " I can tell you're here to train too, do you often come here too?"

It would be hard to tell the age of the redhead, not that sakuragi was bother about that . He just would have used the right honorifics if he knew the person was much more older than him. However the situation here present a young who is only few years older so the white eyed boy would not worry about honorifics. The redhead may earn his respect if he showed greater skills than sakuragi but until then the spiky haired see him as  being equal.

Staring at the spiky haired boy in front of him Akaboshi noticed he was rather short which meant he was still growing, similar to their village that had to restart their growth process after the chaos it had experienced. The height of the teenager would also be an indication of his age as he looked a couple of years younger than the redhead who was still pulling on his cigarette as he first inhaled the smoke before he would exhale. Eyes similar to Yoshimi and Shiva caused the Uzumaki to assume the person in front of him was part of the Hyuuga but he decided not to make any mention before he got confirmation about the young teen's identity. 

Akaboshi listened attentively to the boy who explained he was indeed in the process of warming up before starting his training. "Good, best to avoid going in with cold muscles" he replied, exercising without any warm up could result in an injury which should be avoided at all costs. Not that he was an expert on working out or anything, but he at least knew that much. "Hm, not really. I was busy doing my rounds which is how I ended up here, although I am familiar with this place." Lately there hadn't been a moment where the redhead was able to find the time to work on his own training since he was busy preparing other more important things.

Inhaling intensely the Chuunin was about to finish his cigarette before he would throw it on the ground as he then put it out using the bottom of his shoe. With the future in mind Akaboshi figured it might be a good time to find out more about his fellow shinobi, he wouldn't go as far as knowing every single person in the village, he would leave that to the Kage and other higher ups, but it wouldn't hurt knowing the names of those he came across with. "I assume you have a name? Akaboshi Uzumaki by the way." It was only fair to give his own name first before asking someone else's. He wasn't the type to demand something without being willing to do the same.

The white eyed had not spoken to anyone in months. His old woman’s death caused him much isolation and depression. So much that it cost him his Shinobi skills. It was only few days ago the Hyuuga began to train, after not training for almost a year.  Suddenly he found himself talking to this person. There was slight expression of nervousness in him but he tried to calm himself.  He was not really the timid type, he however may be nervous on first meetings with people.The spiky haired had his eyes glued on the ninja as he smoked his cigarette. The hyuuga boy had never smoked a cigarette, never taken a bottle of liquor and all those stuffs. It was not that Sakuragi considered those that light the cigarette as bad people, he just was not lucky enough to be raised by those who do. He watched  the redhead put out the smoke with his shoes. 






The hyuuga seems to be eager to get to know more about Redhead, he would let out a warm smile as the new comer told him his name. “ I'm Sakuragi, Sakuragi Hyuuga”  he replied. The boy had finished speaking before realising he had mentioned the name of his clan. It did not quite matter to him any more now that the redhead knew his clan. The white eyed already guessed the newcomer already knew which he belongs to because
  his obvious white eyes. The Byakugan is a popular dojutsu just like the sharigan. The powers of the byakugan are unlimited for the one who is willing to pay the price. 










The hyuuga boy would have loved to train and fight this new comer but he believed it would be rude to ask him for a fight on their first time meeting.  The hyuuga would however not ask for a spar, perhaps they'd do that another day. The hyuuga boy shifted his eyes on the chunin flak jacket that AKaboshi was wearing. “ You're wearing a Chunin flak jacket , that means you're a chunin right? " the hyuuga would politely ask. 












“I would have loved to asked you out for a spar here but I can't. I've   not been training for so many months. I almost forgot all my jutsu, I'm in the process of training and perfecting them, so perhaps we will get to spar next time. Apart from that , I consider it a bit rude to ask someone I'm meeting for the first time for such” he would and then laughed. If only he had not isolated himself for so many months, if only he had been training, he would have asked the supposed chunin for a spar. Apart from the fact that he considered it a bit rude, he is still in the process of retraining his jutsu. He knew quite well within himself losing is certain if he challenged the supposed chunin.

As expected, the young boy confirmed he was indeed a Hyuuga named Sakuragi. "Nice to meet you Sakuragi. You can calm down now, no need to be nervous." Akaboshi noticed the one standing in front of him wasn't sure how to act around other people. Maybe he was just shy, or maybe it came because of the redhead's rank. The Uzumaki was aware most people followed ranks and hierarchy so he could understand where Sakuragi was coming from. "That's right, but don't let that bother you." The red haired Chuunin wasn't one to look differently at people based on their ranks. "Genin, Chuunin, Jounin, Kage. All are the same to me and deserve as much respect as anyone else." Of course he would still demand a certain form of politeness when having a conversation but that was it.

The Uzumaki listened attentively as the young Hyuuga explained how he hadn't been training for months and was now forced to retrain everything he knew and even more. He wouldn't delve into it too much as it might have been too personal for Sakuragi to talk about so he decided to wait until the young boy made the choice himself. "There is no need to rush. We've all been there, feeling weak not believing in ourselves. Everyone has to start somewhere, just because you have to start over doesn't mean you should feel less." Confidence was key for a shinobi, believing in yourself was sometimes more important than skill in its own. Once you accepted that everyone moved at their own pace things would get easier.

Akaboshi decided to ask a couple of questions to find out what it was the boy wanted to achieve. "I'm sure there is something you'd like to attain, a certain goal you want to reach or a dream you want to realize?" Everyone started out wanting to become something specific, whether it be Kage, ANBU or part of the Medical team. At least he hoped that would be the case for most people. He'd regret if some were forced to do something they didn't want. "What will your next step be once you have mastered your techniques?" The redhead would understand if his questions confused the young Hyuuga but he wanted to know the ambition of the person standing in front of him.

The Uzumaki boy who is quite older than seems polite and modest in his speech, at least to Sakuragi. The white eyed boy attentively listened to the words of the redhead and they almost sounded like his granny's. His nervousness was quite obvious to the chunin, so much that he was calmed down by the soothing words of the Uzumaki boy. 










The boy almost sounded like his grandma and it's been a while he had this kind of conversation, this two might quite get along well. 












Now the redhead would ask Sakuuragi a question, somewhat question, but the hyuuga boy believed he was asking about his ambition. That was not really something he had thought about. It appeared the white eyed is been driven by past and living in the past. His granny told him at a very young age about the death of his parent, since it was obvious to the boy at such a tender age that he had no parent. Often he would disturb his grandma to tell him about his parent, where they are and what happened to them. It took the old woman a lot of years before she told Sakuragi about everything. Her fear was that the boy at the age of eight was too young to bear the truth of his past. She told him how his father was killed in a deadly mission and how his mother slowly died of depression and finally died few minutes after giving birth to sakuragi. Unknown to his granny, Sakuragi came to conclude that his father was killed because he was weak and if his father had not died such a miserable death his mother would have stayed alive. The only thing that drives Sakuragi from that day onward is to become stronger, no else matters. So when the Uzumaki asked him about his ambition, he wasn't sure what to say, he never really thought about it. Perhaps he'd cone up with something by the time he grew older, but for now he's empty. His eyes remained glued on the redhead, he would take a deep breathe before talking, “ I'm not really sure I've ever thought of that. I'd come up with an ambition later on but for now I'm empty. The only thing I have in mind now to do in future is to form a group of shinobis that  will assist the Hogokage and protect the village ”  he ended his speech with a bright smile. He wasn't sure if he answered his question but that was all he could give. It was a good thing the Uzumaki made mention of ambition, he would have all the time to think about one.

For now it seemed that Sakuragi hadn't decided yet what he wanted to become or what road he wanted to travel. Nothing wrong with that, some people just take longer to figure out the path they want to take. “Get going, move forward,  aim high. Ambition never comes to an end. Your possibilities are endless." Akaboshi continued to listen as the Hyuuga boy was able to come up with something he hoped to achieve one day. The spiky haired teen mentioned how he wanted to form some sort of group who'd assist their leader and help to protect the village. "That doesn't sound so bad, does it?" The Uzumaki smiled, respecting the boy's answer. Great ambition is the passion of a great character. “If you have a great ambition, take as big a step as possible in the direction of fulfilling it. The step may only be a tiny one, but trust that it may be the largest one possible for now.” The red haired Chuunin hoped he was able to inspire the young Hyuuga a little bit. 

He knew how important it was to be confident in yourself. "Surround yourself with people who believe in your dreams, encourage your ideas, support your ambitions, and bring out the best in you.” Speaking of surrounding yourself with people, Akaboshi noticed Sakuragi was training all by himself and from the way he talked and was nervous earlier during their conversation he had the feeling he needed to inquire more. "So tell me, how has your time been after you graduated from the Academy and became a Genin? Any missions you've done, a three-man team you joined?" Training by yourself could be fun from time to time but it wouldn't be able to beat the feeling you'd get from improving together with a couple of friends. The redhead himself remembered how nice it was during his time at the organization where he was able to train, fight and have fun with his comrades. It was where he discovered his sense of camaraderie and friendship. So he could only hope Sakuragi would be able to feel the same with possible teammates.

There was no doubt that this person before him was matured. He choose his  words wisely and they are like ice on wound. The hyuuga boy had open up to the Uzumaki how he didn't really have an ambition but wanted to protect the village with very thing he has. The white eyed would listen attentive as the Redhead spoke words of encouragement. It had been a while anyone spoke to him in this manner. Even his teammates who he once consider family never did. His heart slowly beating to the rhythm of the words by the young uzumaki. Perhaps these two would have a strong bond in future, but for now sakuragi is yet to know much about him. 










The hyuuga boy would let out a smirk as he listen to the uzumaki who asked him a question. It was a question he would not really want to  delve into but for the sake of the redhead he would. He did not want to appear rude to someone who was friendly enough to walk up to him and relate with him like they had knew each other for so many years. 







“I was once in a team of three genins, Team Summer. We trained together, do missions and every other thing together. Despite our differences we are good together. However, we parted, it's been so many months that I've heard from any of them”  he said in a soft voice. It was true that the reason  the trio parted was because of the death of his granny, the spiky haired boy however  see no reason to tell the chunin about it. That information is valuable but not really relevant in this situation. i








Sakuragi was here to train and push ups and meeting a new friend was all he had done. To him, it was worth it. “ Can we meet here tomorrow to train with his other, I mean a spar?” he and asked and if the chunin answers him, he would talk again "It's true that I was here to train, but there are some matters I have to attend to. I'm afraid I have to leave here soon ” he said with a warm smile. The boy really had nothing to do after leaving this place, he was not used to prolong talking with people especially those he meets for the first time. It sorta weigh him down.

Akaboshi would give the young Hyuuga some time to come up with the right words to answer his question. He was sure to choose his words carefully before he gave his reply. The red haired Uzumaki listened attentively as Sakuragi began to explain more about the reason why he was training by himself. The spiky haired boy mentioned how he used to be part of a team, they even had their own name. Unfortunately the team fell apart and it had been months since the last time he'd heard from them. The redhead was aware of the fact that something must have happened that caused them to fall apart, but he decided not to ask since it might be a sensitive subject and difficult to talk about. 

The Chuunin felt like he had to give the Hyuuga some words of encouragement. "Now that you've picked up training again there is nothing stopping you from reaching out to them and have a team reunion. I'm sure they are all wondering how you're doing." If they were truly close with one another in the past then he was sure it wouldn't take much for them to find each other once more. If the three of them were able to stitch things back up there would be no doubt that Team Summer would make their comeback. But it was going to depend on them and how willing they were to fix any broken parts.

It seemed like time had come for Sakuragi to take his leave, but not before he requested something of Akaboshi. "Sure, if I can help you improve in any way I'll try my best." The young Hyuuga had to attend to different matters but not without asking if they could meet up the next day and have a spar between the two of them. The Uzumaki wasn't opposed to such thing and decided to give a positive reply. "Don't let me keep you any longer, we'll meet again tomorrow." Now all he could do was continue his rounds and wait for the next day to come, certain that Sakuragi would show up for their spar.
