Arc Returns to Kirigakur

The village looked a lot different than what he remembered.  Arc stood outside of the village gates.  He knew at this point that he was certainly not in the right time period anymore.  Everything was just a little different.  Which meant that he would have to be permitted to enter once again.  It's not that he meant any harm to the village.  He actually was eager to see if he recognized anybody.  Maybe find out what happened to Iwagakure.  But if Arc was anything, he was cautious.  Years of battling across every manner of hostile environment had made him knowledgable of just how easily things can go sideways.  Arc took a mental note of his appearance as seen by others.  He wasn't geared out with weapons but his attire definitely stood out.  He lowered the hood of his cloak that he had been wearing to travel in.  He had traded for the cloak in a small town to cover up the strange tailored clothes that he still wore since returning to this world.

It was a foggy day today, especially on the outskirts of Kirigakure where there was nothing circumventing the the fog like there was directly inside of the village. The large gates of Kirigakure were currently closed as there was but a single gate guard there, silently looking onward as if he could perceive the events going on around him with his eyes. Although it wasn't his eyes that he saw with but with his other senses as he was currently blind due to an accident. Scyxion was his name, nothing more, nothing less as he didn't like to give out too much personal information regarding himself. His job was to to keep the current Mizukage safe and follow his orders when need be and so until further notice, he was the acting gatekeeper until another could be found to take his place. Scyxion doesn't talk much so he didn't protest to the orders at all. Just a middle aged man, trying to get through life as best as he could. Wearing his Jounin Flak jacket, he decided to pose as a Jounin for the time being until the time was right and he could go back to his Anbu duties later. 

For now, he would just guard the gate like he was ordered. Folding his arms, Scyxion kept his focus ahead of him as he if he was expecting somebody to arrive. After a few moments, a silhouette had appeared in the shape of a boy that had been travelling through the heavy fog coming towards the gate. Standing up right and readying himself, Scyxion could hear him making his way towards him. Listening carefully, Scyxion could hear and feel a strong breeze blow across as he heard the flapping of what sounds like a cloak flailing ferociously in the winds. "Hm," Scyxon grunted as he heard the person in question approaching. Of course, since he was currently the guard of this gate, it was his duty to defend it and question whoever approaches to see what they were currently doing. "Halt traveler, state your business. What are you doing here," asked Scyxion in a rather apathetic, autonomous voice. All the years of training, fighting and war didn't leave him with a personality that was much for desire. All he wanted to do was get through the day in one piece and he had hope for this visitor's sake, he wanted the same thing too. 

Waiting around for the traveler's answer, he had straightened up, placing his arms down to his sides, preparing for any sudden movements. He wasn't what could happen and he was trained to always be alert. He had hoped he didn't frighten the boy since he means no ill will bit unfortunately, it was too late to change his nature, his way of life. He could only now just hope the boy wasn't here on hostile terms or he'd be forced to terminate him. He was stationed at least fifteen meters away from the person in question when he called out to him, giving him just enough distance to feel comfortable.

Scyxion's Stats

Scyxion listened to the traveler's words, wondering if there was any truth to his words. Walking towards the shinobi, he tread cautiously towards him. He was a bit concerned, even troubled, at what he had said. He came to the village hidden in the mist to seek 'refuge'. A remote island that used to be formerly known as Tengakure before it merged with the citizens of Kirigakure. Most sane shinobi go to Konoha or Kumo for refuge but a nation known for its cruelty an animosity, he must have not heard the rumors. Well, since he was brave enough to journey all this way for refuge, who was he to turn him away. He'd just give him the usual treatment as all the others who would visit Kirigakure. He didn't know how much of the truth the boy was telling him but he loved to air on the side of caution as that is what has kept him alive all this time. Walkign forward towards the direction of the boy, Scyxion had raised his arms in preparation to perform a cavity search. Even though, the laws of Kirigakure were far more loose than most villages, certain contraband still wasn't permitted in the village.

The purpose of the search was also to see if the by had any access to lethal poisons, bombs or weapons that could be detrimental to the village as a whole. "Alright then, if you don't mind, I'm going to perform a mandatory search to see if you're carrying any weapons, contraband or other detrimental items that you may or may not posses. Hold still, absolutely do not move a muscle and stretch out your arms and legs so I can do this thoroughly." He'd continue to the boy, focusing on his acute senses to detect if he would make sudden movements to be able to react to if necessary. Upon reaching the boy successfully and if the boy complied, he began to to pat him down starting from the his right arm, over to his left arm, then his torso, followed by his right leg, then his right. When all was said and done, Scyxion had seeming looking at boy to further asses the situation. Not only did this person traverse the raging tides of the sea, he also braved the storm circle without a hitch. He was somewhat impressed but at the same time, that made him all the more cautious.

After searching him, he began to circle around him, his head facing Arcanis as if he were looking at him. Of course, he couldn't see him but he was letting his intent be clear. As far as he knew, the boy was clean, carrying nothing more than basic shinobi gear. After he circled him two more times, he deemed him as a non-threat and decided to respond to his previous statements, chuckling at a particular line. "Well, well, it seems you check out. As for me not remembering your name, its my job to remember all who come to the village gates for the time being, whether they are visiting, here for a meeting or here to seek refuge. If you want to make this village your home, we will be happy to have you. Of course, we'll register you in our books, getting you up to speed and then we will put you to work. You may pass. I recommend you go straight to the Kage's estate to get you started on registration. Don't dawdle or I'll have to come find you," Scyxion said, in his usual apathetic, monotonous tone. Scyxion then began to walk away from the boy, raising his hands to signal the operators to open the gates to let the boy in. After they had done so, with a nod, Scyxion ushered the boy in and as soon as he went through, Scyxion ordered the gates to be closed and he went back to his station.

Arc stood Still as the Guard moved toward him.  Arc wasn’t worried.  He projected an aura of calm with his demeanor.  He had nothing to hide.  Even the small amount of shinobi gear he had on him should not bring any alarm.  Most people traveling between villages would have some kind of defenses to protect themselves from wild animals or bandits.  When the guard told him to hold still and that he was going to check him for contraband, Arc did what he was told and found the Shinobi came to the same conclusion that he had.  But the Man continued to scrutinize him. Arc would stand perfectly still allowing the man to complete his task.


Arc was then told in what struck him as a gruff unapologetic tone of a sentinel that it was the guard's job to remember everyone who came to the village. Arc realized the man had misunderstood what he had said earlier. He had not meant a slight against the man stating the man would not be able to remember him in the future, he had meant it in the way that he would not have remembered Arcanis from the past. But Arcanis would not correct the man.  How do you explain to a man seemingly many years Arc’s senior that Arc was in fact many years his?  Not without divulging more information than Arc was willing to divulge at the moment.  And in any case, the man seemed to be fine with his understanding of what Arc had said.  It is likely that the Mizukage would understand and hold his secret better anyway.  


With a signal from the guard, the gate began to open.   Arcanis proceed into the village. He was no threat to this village.  In fact, he planned on becoming one of its greatest assets.   Arc walked down the street and took in what he could see of the village… Something was off.  This wasn’t the same Shimagakure.  It wasn’t just renamed.  The entire Village was different.  It seems like another hurdle to deal with when it comes to it.  It started to dawn on Arc that he may be dealing with an entirely different governing body than just an older system.  It didn’t matter to him.  At this point, his goal was to establish a home.  If he was accepted it didn’t matter who it was by.

Arc realized due to the change in the layout of the town he would have to ask for directions.  He looked around for someone official-looking, or at least friendly looking.  He finally received directions and proceeded to the Kage’s estate.
