A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Tue Oct 13, 2020 8:10 pm
As Musu was finishing his bow he would watch as Shin would look to replicate the respect that Musu was giving him. Musu would watch as the man awkwardly tried to bow down and show the same respect to the Jounin but it was clear that he was uncomfortable. This intrigued Musu because to him it was like everyone was taught the same basic etiquette. To see somebody that was clearly not accustomed to doing so was strange and raised inquiries within Musu’s mind about how the ninja he was speaking with was raised. Regardless, Musu would wait for Shin to finish his bow before the conversation would continue.

Shin did not seem to be receptive to the idea of learning any of the jutsu that pertained to the sealing arts. Rather the ninja asked if they would be willing to spar together. This was the second time recently that Musu would find himself in a position to spar with another member of Sunagakure and Musu was taken back by this request a bit. Was it the promotion that made Musu interesting enough to have other ninja randomly want to test their powers on him? I mean what possible reason could there be for such a thing to happen. Regardless, Musu was here to train, and an aura of confrontation was already in the air as the groups of boys had dispersed. Perhaps this was a good chance for Musu to test his mettle against a peer and see where he truly stood in the power rankings of the village.

“A spar you say Shin? Experience is the best teacher and I think we both have tools that we can learn from. That sounds like a fine idea.” Musu would say as he sat down his bag again. “Why don’t we move back to where we were when we first met and start about 10 meters away from each other. I think the best way to go about this is to play by a “check-wins” rule. Should one of us get the other into a position where we would be unable to feasibly escape they win the round. I would prefer not to harm you or get harmed myself but I understand that it can’t be completely avoided. Does that make sense?” Musu would say to Shin. He hadn’t been in a lot of spars before and he wasn’t sure what the best way was to go about it. If shin had any suggestions on how the format of the spar should change Musu would consider them but probably agree to it.

[WC: 510, TWC: 2157]
Should Shin agree Musu would head back to the area abouts where the boys were standing and about the brawl. Musu would get himself into a position that was about ten meters away from Shin and wait for him to start the match. However should Shin try any funny business and start the spar at any earlier point than this Musu would be prepared to defend himself using the chakra chains that could fly out at blistering speeds.

A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Mon Oct 19, 2020 6:57 pm
Musu seemed to respond well to Shin's request for a spar; accepting it. Musu too sensed the same atmosphere that Shin did. The atmosphere that the training field brought and that recent confrontation with some bullies brought. It was to challenge oneself to be better and work harder. Though Shin was a chunin at the moment, he didn't feel like one. He still felt inexperienced after facing the new shinobi world around him. Since his original dream of becoming a shinobi has since become reality, Shin was seeking a new dream. He now dreamed to get better and be stronger. And as his senpai would state, "Experience is the best teacher."

Shin and Musu distanced themselves 10 meters apart. The distance was a lot for the genin to travel; he wasn't very fast at the moment. Shin knew his weakness was speed, as he focused a lot of time on strength and his ninjutsu skills during his shinobi development. It was a weakness he was sure to notice during this spar. Musu explained the winner will be decided by something called "check-wins". Shin nodded in understanding. The way it worked was if the opponent was put into a spot where they can't win, the other would be the victor; referencing chess in a way that checkmate would be an automatic win. All Shin had to do was catch Musu off his guard and take him down.

After a moment to prepare themselves, Shin would make the first move. Weaving four hand signs, Shin would shoot a thick mist out of his mouth, creating a cloud around himself. Once the cloud was full, it would consume a 60 diameter area well inside the training grounds. Some innocent onlookers would be consumed into this mist, causing them to not see much in front of them. This would go for Musu too if he was stuck inside. Even if Musu had chakra vision, it would block out any site of Shin. After weaving the hand signs for hidden mist jutsu, he would weave 4 other hand signs to create a water sword that forms from the mist around him. He would stand defensively with his water sword in his right hand.

A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Tue Oct 27, 2020 6:05 am
Stats:

It appeared as though Shin understood what Musu was saying in regards to the rules of the spar and nodded in agreement. Even though Musu may have looked calm and collected on the outside the sweat coming from his brow would tell a different tale. This sweat wasn’t from the heat of the desert, rather this was stress sweat, and Musu’s heart was pounding with excitement in anticipation of the battle.

Musu stood ten meters away from shin and thought about his attack strategy for a bit. To be fair, the Uzumaki knew that he only had one jutsu that could help him here, chakra chains, and he wasn’t about to learn how to use weapons effectively. Rather, he decided that when he manifested his chakra chains he would make sure that they were blunt objects.

But soon the spar would begin with Shin weaving a set of hand seals. Musu wasn’t familiar with the jutsu he was trying to cast, so Musu began by weaving hand signs himself, and in the following order: Bird -> Monkey -> Ox -> Ram -> Monkey -> Dog -> Serpent. This would be done at a speed of 60, meaning that this jutsu formula would be done around the same time Shin would complete his hidden mist jutsu, and allowing him to see the results shortly before his mists covered the area.

A total of 5 chains would erupt from the following points on Musu’s body: The heel of his left foot, the heel of his right foot, the top of his right thigh, the center of his chest near the heart, and one from back of his neck/top of the spine. Launching at jutsu speed, the chains would appear to have a faint orange glow, similar to the setting sun, and each would be fashioned with a blunt tip as though there wasn’t really one at all.

The chain from his back would begin to surround Musu, leaving about one meter from him and the chains, and using the full 30 meter length to do this, landing at the bottom, and leaving gaps within to allow vision and other chains to still be visible and pass through.

The chain formed for his chest would stretch out 1 meter in front of Musu, nearly touching the other chain wrapping around him.

The three chains coming from his feet  and right thigh would jettison out towards Shin at a slight angle. Upon travelling 15 meters the chains would stop, creating a V with Musu being the point, and shin being the center being about 5 meters away. Suddenly, the three chains would change course and travel towards shin in a sweeping motion. Since Musu created the chain that was wrapping around him the chains could not adjust their height along their path. Should a chain connect with Shin, the contact will cause the chains to wrap around Shin's leg in an effort to restrain him. This scissoring motion should prove difficult, but not impossible to counter, and should allow Musu to gauge his opponents reaction. Would he try to dodge, move away from the chains, try to break through them, or something else?

The mist created from Shins jutsu would make it impossible for Musu to see, or even sense with chakra sensory, where the ninja was. Unless otherwise alerted Musu would not move from his current location but be prepared to create counter measures using the remaining chain if needed. Musu could see that Shin was still weaving hand signs after the mist formed to prepare for another jutsu just as the mist began to envelop. Should the battle not be conceded by this effort Musu would have to think about a new strategy.

A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Sat Oct 31, 2020 3:39 pm
Shin wound watch as he was weaving signs for Hidden Mist, the jonin would weave different hand signs for his own jutsu. The chunin would see what this technique was once he had released the mist from his mouth. It seemed to be some sort of chains made from chakra that manifested itself off his body. Three manifested on his lower half and two on the upper half of his body; a total of 5. Shin didn't know the capability of the technique, but he knew they were faster than him.

Instead of weaving the hand signs for Water Cutting Sword, knowing that it would just inhibit him, he would weave hand signs for substitution. In the cover of the mist, Shin would substitute with a Woolen dummy that was used in some training in the training field about 2 meters to the right of Musu. This would get him out of range of the chakra chain net. He knew that Musu wouldn't know if he got the Chunin until he saw it for himself out of this mist, so it was Shin prime opportunity to jump on the unsuspected master.

Using the same reference point from where he was before, Shin would travel the 2 meters towards Musu. Once within a meter of the jonin, Shin would bust out a strong Rasengan. The powerful swirling strengthens Shin's confidence, charging full strength at his senpai. "Ha! Gotcha!" He would only stop the assault at Musu an inch away from his master's right side, claiming victory if successful.

A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Tue Nov 10, 2020 7:02 pm
Musu had his three chains directed towards Shin to continue along their path. The metal clanking of the chains collided with a target and made a ringing sound as they began to wrap around what the Uzumaki appeared to be Shin. By this point the mist that the chuunin had created would cover the landscape in a thick coat of fog. The ten meters separating the two ninja would have been covered completely by his water jutsu as quickly as Musu’s chains would have gotten to their position to strike Shin. The Chuunin had made the right call to use this mist as a cover not only for Musu to not be able to see Shin but also to block out chakra sensory techniques. The powerful mist technique would also guard Shin against Musu being able to detect him. It was a smart move on his part.

The Uzumakis chakra chains wrapped around which made it clear to Musu that he had indeed caught Shin. However there was no call for surrender from him as the chains continued to wrap around him, on top of that there appeared to be no struggle coming at all with no sound of struggle or the chains breaking from a strong technique, and leading Musu to believe that Shin had something up his sleeve.

To Shin's credit, Musu had not the faintest idea that a training dummy was standing no less than two meters from the Jounin. He must have forgotten that part of the layout of the training grounds, recognizing that there were no other training dummies within 50 meters of the two ninjas, and recalling the rest of the training grounds around the area. The area void of trees, rocks, and other small objects; there was only sand and these plots of land for training.

Musu thought he might have heard a puff of smoke of the substitution jutsu coming from the training dummy two meters away from him but he didn’t realize that it could have been shin until the chunin had gotten within one meter of Musu. “What!” Musu thought as he heard the rattling of chains coming from his right. Fortunately for Musu, it appeared as though Shin's hidden mist jutsu also impeded his own ability to see things in front of him, and even hiding the chakra chains orange glow within the dense fog. The most important chain that Shin could not see in his situation was the chain that was formed at the base of Musu’s neck. Starting from the Neck, this chain was wrapped around Musu like a barrier, leaving about 1 inch gaps between each row of chains to allow other chains to pass through, and surrounding Musu expanding one meter around him. A total of 35 meters of chains would now make rattling sounds as Shin charged right into them. This indicated to Musu that Shin was 1 meter to the right of him and gave Musu the chance to strike.

Immediately Musu would begin to face Shin and use the chain coming from his chest, already almost touching the chain surrounding him and mere inches away from Shin as he ran into the chains, to begin to wrap around the ninja. Starting from shoulder height Musu would manipulate his chain to wrap around shin. Musu would also create another chain that spawned from Musu’s right hand, another seal forming instantly as another chain would form and also moving a jutsu speed to wrap around shin.  Given Shin’s speed compared to the speed of chains, it should prove difficult for him to escape this trap. All of this happening simultaneously as Shin would try to create a rasengan, but as he barged right into the chain wrapping around him his hands would also the chains, and cover the space above his palms necessary for Shin to make the technique, making it impossible for Shin to create this jutsu.

In terms of the chains that were around the substitution he would take the two that were from his feet and immediately retract them at jutsu speed back to about five meters in front of Musu. The third would stay wrapped around the substitution in the event that he did catch shin and the Shin that was in getting wrapped was somehow a clone.

A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Thu Nov 12, 2020 4:22 pm
As Shin began to close into what he presumed was Musu's location. Just as he was about to raise his hand to launch his Rasengan attack, the amber chakra chain wrapped around his shoulder length. His hands around were also wrapped in chain, stopping his Rasengan from fully forming. The speed of the chain was much greater than his own, making it impossible for Shin to maneuver out of the chain's reach. Shin was now raptured in chains, only a meter away from Musu.

Since there was no reason for the hidden mist to remain up, Shin disabled the mist. Onlookers were able to finally see past the mist and at the scene. Shin softly struggled for a moment, facing Musu in the eyes. "Damn, those chains are fast." Shin chuckled. "I thought I could catch you off guard with the mist long enough for me to you. And how you used your chains both offensively and defensively is amazing!" His childish ramblings were with pure joy. Shin was excited to see such amazing jutsu. "Could you teach it to me?" Shin didn't know about the Uzumaki's rare and unique talent that allowed them to produce these chains; thinking it was just an ordinary jutsu.

A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:32 pm
The mist cleared and the results of the battle became clear. Shin would be wrapped in Musu’s chains that now bound him from all four of his limbs and his chest. On top of that he could see his remaining chain connected with the Dummy that was back where Shin started the spar. It was incredible to see Shin create a substitution with the large dummy and it was impressive to see a man with a chakra pool that wasn’t very big being able to complete some very demanding techniques. Not only was shin able to produce the hidden mist out of the air around him but he was able to substitute as well. With Shin conceding the match Musu would carefully retract his chains back into his body. Unwrapping around Shin, the shinobi could potentially notice small seals disappearing as the chains returned to the Uzumaki. Within a few moments Musu’s chain would be completely retracted and Shin would regain freedom of movement.

“It was a good match, Shin!” Musu said to the young man as he began to complement the Uzumaki jounin on the use of his chains. It was really just luck Musu caught Shin off guard with the chain around him. Regardless they were clearly faster than what his opponent could react to. Musu would give Shin a deep bow signaling the completion of this sparring round.

Next, Shin asked if the chain technique was something that he could learn. Musu gave Shin a shocked expression in return. He didn’t really have much interest in what Musu had to teach before the spar and now his mind had changed. Was his chain technique really that good that somebody would want to learn it just like that? Lowering his head Musu would reply…

“Hmmm, I’m not sure it's something I can necessarily teach. I learned the technique from my father and he told me it was something my ancestors created. It's a pretty advanced technique that makes use of our sealing abilities. I don’t know if anybody outside of the Uzumaki clan can actually use the technique. I’m willing to give it a shot however, how familiar are you with Fuuinjutsu?” he would ask.

A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Mon Nov 16, 2020 8:39 pm
Musu released his chain technique from around Shin; seals from the chains retreated. He dusted and shook himself off as Musu complimented the fight. It was a really good fight for Shin too, he lately had been feeling rusty. He knew that he could keep going too. He didn't feel his stamina low but he really wanted to know about that chain technique.

Musu looked shocked after Shin asked him if he could teach him the chains. Shin was confused because he felt that it was a reasonable request. Little did Shin know, Musu was self-doubting himself. Shin knew when a technique had the potential for him, and he knew that if he had the technique that it would be incredibly useful. Musu awkwardly explained that he had learned the technique from his father and that his father explained it was a hereditary technique to the Uzumaki. Shin instantly understood. "Oh, like a kekki genki! My clan has that too." Shin would use the Dance of the Camelia: Flower technique; his arm sprouting his bones out and shaping into a spear. He waved it around to Musu so show him. "My clan can control their bones. I learned how to do this technique from a scroll that was in my basement. It was just one of the few in there." He retreated the spear back into his body.

Shin would let Musu continue, saying that he'd try to teach the young boy. This delighted Shin. "Oh yeah!" Musu then asked how well versed was he in Fuuin; sealing techniques. Shin's enthusiasm dropped. "Oh...very little. I know how to steal scrolls and such, but it's extremely weak." Shin was bashful but still energetic about fuuin.

A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin) - Page 2 Empty Re: A cloudy day in Sunagakure (Musu - Shin)

Fri Nov 20, 2020 7:16 pm
“Thats…. Incredible shin.” Musu would stutter out in awe.

Musu knew that there were many clans out there that he used their bodies and their chakra to create incredible jutsu that rivaled that of the Uzumaki. Shin was part of another family that took this to a whole new level by manipulating bones in the body with his chakra. He would watch silently for a bit as Shin waved his bone weapon around and then return it back to his body.

The conversation would then turn into learning about the chakra chain technique some. Perhaps this jutsu was a kekkei genki like the bone jutsu or something that could be taught. Still, this made Musu feel a bit important, like he had something to offer, and perhaps Shin might be able to learn it.

“Hmm, my chain technique uses the tenketsu points in my body to produce them, basically I produce a seal, and it acts as a conduit for my chakra. From there I’d say it is fairly similar to your bone technique. I’ve never seen anyone do it without first mastering the seal though so while you are welcome to try unfortunately I really have no knowledge. Would you like to see the technique again.”

Musu seemed a bit confused because he didn't know if his chains were kekki genki or it was something he could teach Shin. Regardless, he would explain to Shin that the technique was like a seal that would open his chakra directly. Which to Shin sounded badass. "Woah, So it's like pure chakra! That's insane!" Musu would then as if he would still like to try out the technique.  Shin was about to shout 'hell ya' but hesitated because the sun was starting to go down and he still needed to get dinner for the rest of the Lost Wind members. "Maybe some other time. I have to go before it gets dark." He starts to pack up the things that he had, which wasn't much and started to head out. "Next time we meet, I hope we can spar again!" Then he vanishes with a gust of wind.
