Task: It's closing time for the bank and all the patrons have come on gone whether its to deposit or withdraw money. The bank is hiring some local village Shinobi to do some maintenance work in place of the usual bankers. Cleaning, locking up the doors and checking the perimeter and any other small tasks the staff may have forgotten.
Nico was having a bad day. That could be seen as true even by looking at him. His usually present smirk was in the form of a frown, and his uniform hair was messy. The day began like any other, Nico had went done his morning training grabbed some reading material from the library, and went to get an easy mission. Boy was he mistaken. He took a tedious mission that involved cleaning a statue. He thought that the mission would be easy, simply cleaning a statue could not be too hard. It's just cleaning, right?
Nico then followed the directions on his mission scroll taking a right turn he was then struck in the face by a stench that was nearly had him in tears. Nico looked and saw a statue of the current mizukage the venerable Kizmaru. Nico had never met the man but the villagers would always tell stories of the man. He was worshiped as if he was a deity. Nico looked closer at the statue and saw that there was a slick layer of grime upon it. No ninja must have taken this job in months. To let the statue stay in this state would be disrespectful to the mizukage himself. But Nico thought about returning the mission contract. Turning away from the statue he spoke to himself "If I want to advance in rank I'm gonna have to do multiple e-rank missions and I have to accept that. I HAVE to accept that."
Filled with energy, he took the cleaning supplies he had been offered from the mission's clerk and got to work focusing on the man's head first. The statue was quite tall probably close to 10 meters. So Nico secured himself using some procured rope between the two buildings surrounding the statue. Now safely secured in the air Nico drenched the sponge in soapy water and started working on the mizukages head. The amount of dirt dust and grime that had accumulated was quite disgusting had he not steeled himself he may have given up at the first swipe of his sponge.
But Nico's will would not break that easily. Going to work on the head he partitioned sections of the top. He would have to work from the top down to ensure maximum efficiency. Had he worked from the bottom up when he was cleaning the top it would become increasingly dirty at the bottom. After a few short minutes, Nico had finished the head. lowering the rope and refreshing his supplies he brought himself back up to the mizukage's neck and shoulders. Using the same partitioning strategy he had completed the neck and shoulders in a mere 5 minutes. Looking at the sparking metal of the mizukages head, neck, and shoulders he was reinvigorated. Repeating his process he had the chest of the Mizukage sparkling in no time. Getting down to the legs which he could reach he made quick work of the dirt and dust using his ninja-level speed.

Nico took his time to stop at his apartment and clean himself off. All the dust and dirt had stained his pants so he also grabbed another pair of clothes before heading back towards the mission desk of Kiri for a new mission. Walking throughout the busy streets of New Kirigakure watching numerous people trade he took his time to observe the citizens before, stopping at the mission area. Conversing with the clerk for a few short seconds he secured his next mission.
Nico then went towards the location of his next mission. That of course being the old mizukages hound pits. Why no one had released the old mizukages hounds. Nico had no idea but he was supposed to get food and feed the rabid animals. Looking to the map located on the scroll he saw that the hound pits were quite literally on the other side of the map. So taking his time he bobbed and weaved throughout the busy and ambitious streets of Kiri. Trying to reach his destination as quickly as possible.
Upon reaching the hound pits in a slightly dead sector of Kiri, he immediately started to hear the sounds of the numerous dogs. Maneuvering within the dome-like structure he found where the dogs were located. He saw a cage probably 10 meters by 10 meters filled with probably 20 rabid dogs. How had the old mizukage possibly have kept these animals in line they were clearly rabid. Though maybe they were depressed by their owner leaving them.
Looking around the dome-like structure for anything to feed the animals he came across a large freezer-like room. Opening the sealed door and heading inside, he saw the food he was supposed to give the previous mizukages hounds. Coming into what looked like a massive butchering room he knew its purpose immediately. Taking a cart from the corner of the freezing room he took some of the meat-filled legs from the hooks on the ceiling and placed them onto the cart. Nico knew that this job would be easy, but know he was degraded from a ninja to a pet sitter and butcher. At least it was better than cleaning.
Taking the cart full of meat into the room with the hounds they immediately started whimpering. Maybe they had not been fed in days maybe even for a week. They could have simply been hungry and not rabid at all. Nico looked around and found a hatch to open a hole in the cage. Opening the hole he made sure to dump all the meat at once. He did not want the dogs to rip each other to shreds had he not given ample food. Taking a brief moment to admire his work. Watching the dogs finish bark once collectively at him and go to sleep. Maybe it was a sign of respect from the old mizukages war dogs. He simply had no idea. But after completing that job. He would head towards the mission center for another.

Arriving at the mission center the clerk looked up and met his eyes saying "You again, back for another mission. Your quite efficient most teams only do two to four e-ranks a day." The clerk was a small young woman with brown hair and a generally happy disposition. Looking at her smile in regards to his work habits, Nico was a little proud. He had run around the village like a maniac and he would continue to do so probably throughout the rest of the day. Taking his time to think of a response he then went with, "Efficiency has allowed me to survive and thrive in this world. If I took my time with every little thing I do I would get nothing done. So thanks for the compliment. But I was wondering if you have another e-rank for me?" Nico phrased the question in a nice tone so as to hasten the response.
"Sure I have a mission for, cleaning sand out of the roads specifically here." The young clerk then pointed to a length on the map that would need the road swept clear of sand. Looking it over briefly he then said " Sure ill take that one. Ill return soon" Nico would smile meet the woman's eyes before walking out the door and into the popular streets of Kiri.
Navigating his way through the streets of Kiri he came upon the street he was supposed to clean up. Looking at the road he could see why it was an actual problem. If he was not informed that it was there on accident, he probably would have assumed a Suna invasion had happened. Almost the entire street was flooded in the sand. the only part of the stone street that was recognizable was the stone path in the center.
Taking the time to look at what would soon be his job he started sweeping with the broom that was somehow already in his left hand. Sweeping the broom left to right making sure to get all of the sand. He took this job slowly. Unlike the other two jobs he had participated in today this one was quite relaxing and he knew it would take quite some time before he would be finished. Sighing and forcing his face into a smile, he was gonna be here for quite a while.
Taking his time, he had almost finished nearly an hour later. The entire road that had been a sandy dune was nearly transformed into an elegant stone walkway. Nico took the last sweep of his broom. And acknowledge his work, he then took a big swig of water before, looking over the road thrice over for any leftover sand. After finding none, he slowly walked away from what should have been a d-rank job proud and now slightly tired. He took his leave from the road, he could take some pride in saying that he had technically changed the landscape of the hidden village. Nico then went to collect his last e-rank mission of the day.

Re: Day in the Life of an D-rank ninja

Nico made his way to the mission center it was time for him to pick up his last mission of the day. Was it due to Nico running out of stamina? No, of course not it was nearly 9:00 at night so it was time for him to go to sleep soon. The street of Kiri at this time are a lot less full this made maneuvering a lot more simple. So Nico was easily able to make his way to the mission center for his last assignment of the day.
Upon entering the building he saw the same clerk from before sitting at the desk working on something. Nico approached her and asked "I told you I would return. Though I must ask does the village not have any other clerks you have been working all day?" Nico was quite curious the woman had been here since he had arrived earlier in the day and had been here ever since from what he had seen.
"Well, the way our jobs work is weird. Instead of having shifts, we have one person work two whole days out of a week and get the other 5 off. I enjoy the system I get similar pay to what I would normally receive with more time off. Our mizukage is quite the benevolent genius. Things have been a lot better around here since he has taken the helm." Nico took note of the kage worship present in the young clerk. The system did seem nice. Though he himself had yet to meet the kage he had only heard good things of the man. Everyone in town simply revered him if the statue was anything to go by. though it was uncleaned the final product was simply perfect.
"I'll take that e-rank for closing the bank tonight if that is still available." Nico pointed towards what was going to be his last e-rank for the night, cleaning and closing a bank in place of the clerks. The clerk brought her eyes to the sheet unpinned it and gave it to him saying "ill mark it down as complete so you can head home after you have finished, excellent work today shinobi." She then turned her attention back to her previous work.
Using the scroll to navigate throughout town to the bank he saw that the key in his hand matched that of the door so he let himself in. Taking the cleaning supplies that he found near the door he swept and mopped the floor making sure there was no evidence of the previously visible tracked mud. He then went behind the desk of the bank and swept there. Taking his time to ensure that he did good work he then moved on to vacuuming the rug. Making sure no dirt would be allowed to stain it. Nico had dealt with a problem like that before and it was simply not fun. After ensuring that the work was done well and that the bank was clean he found the storage closet and inserted the cleaning supplies. Making sure not to make a mess. And have the tools be accessible for the next people to come clean. Nico would then lock the door on his way out ensuring the safety of Kiri's money.
Nico would then head home he had accomplished what he set out to do and made a hefty lump of ryo. All in all, it was a good day and Niko could focus more on training in the next few days.
